Trent Taylor CHI WR49ers' Trent Taylor: Returns to The Bay
4m agoTaylor signed a one-year contract with the 49ers on Tuesday, Lindsey Pallares of the team's official site reports.
Taylor started his career in San Francisco before a two-year stay with the Bengals and spending the 2023 campaign with the Bears. The 29-year-old will likely have the opportunity to earn a role in the return game with the departure of Ray-Ray McCloud in free agency this offseason.

Trent Taylor: Could return to The Bay
1h agoTaylor has talked to the 49ers about a potential return to the team this offseason, Matt Maiocco of NBC Sports Bay Area reports.
Taylor was selected by San Francisco in the fifth round of the 2017 Draft and spent three seasons there before stops in Cincinnati and Chicago. The 49ers do currently have a void in their return game, with Ray-Ray McCloud now in Atlanta, which is likely where the interest in Taylor lies.

3h agoWatson (shoulder) said Tuesday he's already resumed "throwing full speed" but that he's uncertain how large a workload he'll handle during OTAs and minicamp, Mary Kay Cabot of The Cleveland Plain Dealer reports.
Watson clarified that certain members of the Browns' medical staff are in favor of a more conservative approach to the quarterback's recovery from right shoulder surgery, Scott Petrak of the Elyria Chronicle-Telegram, which would wait until training camp to have him fully practice. Still, Watson has been fully forthright in his confidence to be available for the Browns' season opener, and there appear to be no real worries about his Week 1 status. In case Watson misses part of the offseason, or struggles during the fall, Cleveland can lean on newly-signed, experienced backups Jameis Winston and Tyler Huntley.

4h agoDolphins general manager Chris Grier said Tuesday that there's "nothing imminent" on a deal between Beckham and the team, Marcel Louis-Jacques of ESPN.com reports.
Beckham was reportedly extended a contract offer by Miami after visiting with the team back in March, but it doesn't appear that a signing is around the corner. The 31-year-old is coming off a forgettable 14-game season with the Ravens, in which he put up a 35-565-3 receiving line, but he could find more success as a No. 3 option behind Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle. It could be that Beckham will need to wait until after the dust of the 2024 NFL Draft has settled to find a landing spot.

4h agoGeneral manager Chris Grier said Tuesday that he expects the Dolphins to pick up Waddle's fifth-year option, Cameron Wolfe of NFL Network reports.
The Dolphins have consistently stated a desire to come to terms with Waddle on a long-term contract, and Grier specifically dismissed trade rumors earlier this offseason. The third-year pro has recorded three straight 1,000-yard seasons to begin his career, becoming the first wideout to do so in franchise history, and there's little question of his value as a No. 2 read behind Tyreek Hill. Picking up Waddle's fifth-year option will keep him under contract with the Dolphins for two more seasons.

4h agoDecker said Tuesday he underwent foot/ankle surgery this offseason and resumed working out mid-February, Justin Rogers of The Detroit News reports.
Decker appears already recovered from his offseason procedure. The 30-year-old left tackle missed only two regular-season games last season while suiting up for all three of Detroit's postseason contests. Now heading into the final year of his contract, Decker is still playing at a high level.

The 32-year-old hasn't seen the field since Friday, and he'll sit for the fourth straight game as he continues to deal with the back injury. According to Todd Rosiak of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, the Brewers considered Tuesday a deadline for a potential IL move for Yelich, but it remains to be seen if he's shifted to the shelf.

Perez will miss a second straight start after being diagnosed with a Grade 1 left groin strain. He intends to attempt to play through the injury, but with an afternoon game Wednesday representing the Royals' final game of their road trip, it wouldn't be a surprise to see Perez at least held out until Friday following Thursday's off day. Freddy Fermin will catch Tuesday.

Cronenworth was pulled from Monday's contest with calf tightness, so it's no surprise to see him sitting a day later. The good news is that he has not been placed on the injured list and the Padres brought up Matthew Batten as infield protection, projecting some apparent optimism that it's a day-to-day situation for Cronenworth. Jurickson Profar will handle first base Tuesday, while Jose Azocar will be in left field.

With Ozzie Albies (toe) slated to miss some time, Harris figures to occupy the two hole in the Atlanta lineup indefinitely. It's a nice boost for his immediately fantasy outlook as Tuesday is the first time this season he's batted higher than sixth. Harris is slashing .290/.333/.468 with two homers and one stolen base so far in 2024.

It's an encouraging step for Duran, who recently progressed to mound work after starting the season on the injured list with an oblique strain. The right-hander should face hitters a few times before moving on to a rehab assignment, and he could be back with the Twins before the end of April.

30m agoBatten was recalled from Triple-A El Paso by the Padres on Tuesday, Kevin Acee of The San Diego Union-Tribune reports.
Batten will provide some extra infield protection while Jake Cronenworth (calf) is banged up. The 28-year-old put up a .713 OPS with two homers and two steals over 43 games with the big club last season and can handle every infield position as well as the corner outfield spots.

Melton has logged just five appearances since Jan. 12, being unable to return to 100 percent after initially dealing with a lumbar stress reaction in his spine. Subsequent attempts to return to action have been short-lived, and his absence from Philadelphia's rotation is a notable loss defensively. Win or lose Wednesday, Philadelphia will have another postseason contest in store, but Melton's outlook is currently bleak.

Embiid sat out Sunday's regular-season finale against the Nets due to precautionary reasons but practiced Monday and Tuesday. The 76ers have won eight straight, including five in a row with Embiid back in the lineup, and the reining MVP has looked great in the process, averaging 30.4 points, 9.2 rebounds, 5.2 assists, 1.4 steals and 1.2 blocks in 30.6 minutes per game.

Adams missed the 2023-24 campaign after receiving a season-ending knee surgery in November. The 30-year-old is likely to serve as a veteran presence off the bench behind Alperen Sengun (knee/ankle) next season.

Eason underwent surgery in March to treat a benign growth in his lower leg but is expected to make a full recovery by the time training camp rolls around in the fall. In 22 appearances last season, Eason averaged 9.8 points, 7.0 rebounds, 1.2 assists and 1.4 steals in 21.8 minutes. The 22-year-old is a versatile prospect on both ends of the floor, but with other young options in the frontcourt such as Jabari Smith, Amen Thompson and Cam Whitmore, Eason may struggle to win playing time.

In the minors this season, Imama hasn't been significantly more productive with just 10 points in 53 outings.

Lindgren gets the starting nod on the second game of the Caps' season-ending back-to-back after stopping all 16 shots he faced versus Boston on Monday. Perhaps if the Minnesota native had faced a heavier workload the club would have decided to role with Darcy Kuemper. In his last five outings, the backstop is 3-1-1 with a 1.81 GAA and a .931 save percentage. If Washington makes the playoffs, Lindgren figures to remain the preferred choice between the pipes.

Considering the veteran center has registered just one point in his last 22 contests, few fantasy players figure to be impacted by his absence. The Michigan native had played every game this season before being ruled out for the season finale Wednesday. Austin Watson should slot into the lineup with Glendening on the shelf.
