  • Josiah Deguara GB TE
Jaguars' Josiah Deguara: Inking with Jacksonville
    2h ago

The Jaguars are slated to sign Deguara to a one-year contract, Jordan Schultz of BleacherReport.com reports.

Deguara spent the last four seasons handling a depth role in Green Bay, where he was drafted in the third round back in 2020. His versatility both as a blocker and on special teams will boost his chances of earning playing time behind Evan Engram, but Deguara peaked with a 25-245-2 receiving line in 2021 and doesn't appear to have much fantasy potential.

J.K. Dobbins: Lines up AFC West visit
    4h ago

Dobbins (Achilles) is visiting the Chargers on Thursday, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.

Dobbins, who was recently medically cleared for football activities, is coming off a left Achilles tear after previously missing all of 2021 and about half of the 2022 season due to a torn ACL and proceeding issues. That medical history undercuts otherwise impressive career numbers for Dobbins, who has averaged 5.8 yards per carry and scored 13 touchdowns since entering the NFL in 2020 as a second-round pick by the Ravens, but only suited up for 24 games in that span. Reuniting with offensive coordinator Greg Roman could make the most sense as a landing spot for Dobbins, but it's possible he doesn't garner more interest than a potential prove-it deal. The Chargers signed Gus Edwards,a former Baltimore backfield mate of Dobbins, early in free agency.

  • Derek Stingley Jr. HOU CB
Texans' Derek Stingley: Slow start, strong finish
    4h ago

Stingley recorded 39 tackles, 13 passes defensed and five interceptions over 11 regular-season games in 2023.

Stingley, a second-year cornerback and 2022 first-round draft pick, suffered a Week 3 hamstring that created issues for the defense early on, but upon his return Week 10, Stingley made an impact. He had interceptions in three straight games, including a Week 13 win over the Broncos. Stingley will return as Houston's top cornerback in 2024.

    DeAndre Houston-Carson: Enters free agency
    4h ago

Houston-Carson recorded 41 tackles, five passes defensed, two interceptions and one fumble recovery over 13 regular-season games in 2023.

Houston-Carson started the season in Baltimore then finished up in Houston, where he played a career-high 447 snaps on defense. Injuries on the back end led to Houston-Carson playing a big role for the Texans, including two pivotal plays in a Week 10 win over the Bengals. He entered unrestricted free agency during the offseason.

  • Jimmie Ward HOU SAF
    Texans' Jimmie Ward: Injury-marred 2023
    4h ago

Ward (quadriceps) recorded 50 tackles, three passes defensed, one interception and one forced fumble over 10 games in 2023.

Ward, a team captain, was beset by injuries all season long. He missed time due to hip, hamstring and shoulder injuries before a quadricep ended his season in December. In between the setbacks, Ward played well, and his one interception was an end-zone pick that sealed a win over Denver. Houston went 6-4 in games he played and could use his stabilizing presence on the back end. Ward turns 33 in July and will be entering his 11th season.

Texans' Henry To'oTo'o: Contributes in rookie season
    4h ago

To'oTo'o recorded 61 tackles, two passes defensed, one forced fumble and one fumble recovery over 15 regular-season games in 2023.

To'oTo'o, a fifth-round draft pick out of Alabama, started from Week 2 to Week 7 and played in both of Houston's playoff games during his rookie season. The Texans lost two linebackers to free agency -- Blake Cashman and Denzel Perryman -- which leaves To'oTo'o as a projected starter for 2024. However, Houston is expected to address the position during the offseason.

Heat's Tyler Herro: Ramping up, still no timetable
    3m ago

Coach Erik Spoelstra said Thursday that Herro (foot) has progressed to the next stage of his rehab and is beginning to ramp up his conditioning, Wes Goldberg of the Locked On Podcast Network reports.

Herro was present and getting shots up during the media portion of Thursday's practice, but his status for Friday's game against the Trail Blazers remains unclear. The sharpshooter has missed 15 straight games due to right foot tendinitis, so even if he gets the green light soon, he will likely be limited for at least a few games to avoid a setback. However, it sounds like Herro is on track to be 100 percent by the time the Play-In Tournament begins, which begins April 16.

  • Isaiah Joe OKC SG
Thunder's Isaiah Joe: Scores 17 points off bench
    3m ago

Joe posted 17 points (6-10 FG, 4-6 3Pt, 1-1 FT), three rebounds and six assists over 33 minutes during Wednesday's 132-126 overtime loss to the Rockets.

Joe grabbed headlines Wednesday following a posterizing dunk on Jeff Green, but he did more than that, and he was actually one of the Thunder's most productive players in this loss despite coming off the bench. Joe has scored in double digits in just three of his 13 appearances this month, however, so he doesn't carry a lot of upside heading into the final weeks of the regular season.

Vassell's efficient shooting helped him record a team-high 31 points during Wednesday's over the Jazz. The 23-year-old guard is averaging 20.0 minutes, 4.9 assists, 3.6 rebounds and 1.3 steals in 36.6 minutes across his last 10 outings. Vassell has also posted 49.1/38.6/88.0 shooting splits over that span.

Rockets' Jalen Green: Keeps sizzling streak alive
    5m ago

Green recorded 37 points (14-24 FG, 7-11 3Pt, 2-2 FT), nine rebounds, seven assists, one block and two steals across 46 minutes during Wednesday's 132-126 overtime win over the Thunder.

Green has been one of the most productive players in the Western Conference over the last few weeks, and the numbers don't lie, as he's been a key cog in Houston's ongoing 10-game winning run. This was his seventh straight game with 25 or more points, and he's averaging 29.8 points, 6.4 rebounds, 3.9 assists and 1.1 steals per game during the Rockets' undefeated stretch. Green will aim to remain hot against the Jazz, on what promises to be a favorable matchup on paper, on Friday.

Timberwolves' Rudy Gobert: Records another double-double
    9m ago

Gobert totaled 11 points (5-5 FG, 1-1 FT), 14 rebounds, four assists and two blocks in 34 minutes during Wednesday's 106-91 victory over the Pistons.

Gobert hasn't been the double-double machine he was during his Utah days since joining the Timberwolves, but there's no question he's taken a leap forward this season compared to the numbers he posted in 2022-23. Gobert ranks fifth in The Association in double-doubles this season with 46 out of 66 appearances.

Tarasov has started three of the Jackets' last seven outings, as the team has decided to split the workload between the 25-year-old and Elvis Merzlikins. Looking ahead to next season, Tarasov could be in the mix for the starting job, especially if the team honors Merzlikins's prior trade request. For now, Tarasov should get the nod in every other game.
