  • Josiah Deguara GB TE
Jaguars' Josiah Deguara: Inking with Jacksonville
    2h ago

The Jaguars are slated to sign Deguara to a one-year contract, Jordan Schultz of BleacherReport.com reports.

Deguara spent the last four seasons handling a depth role in Green Bay, where he was drafted in the third round back in 2020. His versatility both as a blocker and on special teams will boost his chances of earning playing time behind Evan Engram, but Deguara peaked with a 25-245-2 receiving line in 2021 and doesn't appear to have much fantasy potential.

J.K. Dobbins: Lines up AFC West visit
    3h ago

Dobbins (Achilles) is visiting the Chargers on Thursday, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.

Dobbins, who was recently medically cleared for football activities, is coming off a left Achilles tear after previously missing all of 2021 and about half of the 2022 season due to a torn ACL and proceeding issues. That medical history undercuts otherwise impressive career numbers for Dobbins, who has averaged 5.8 yards per carry and scored 13 touchdowns since entering the NFL in 2020 as a second-round pick by the Ravens, but only suited up for 24 games in that span. Reuniting with offensive coordinator Greg Roman could make the most sense as a landing spot for Dobbins, but it's possible he doesn't garner more interest than a potential prove-it deal. The Chargers signed Gus Edwards,a former Baltimore backfield mate of Dobbins, early in free agency.

  • Derek Stingley Jr. HOU CB
Texans' Derek Stingley: Slow start, strong finish
    3h ago

Stingley recorded 39 tackles, 13 passes defensed and five interceptions over 11 regular-season games in 2023.

Stingley, a second-year cornerback and 2022 first-round draft pick, suffered a Week 3 hamstring that created issues for the defense early on, but upon his return Week 10, Stingley made an impact. He had interceptions in three straight games, including a Week 13 win over the Broncos. Stingley will return as Houston's top cornerback in 2024.

    DeAndre Houston-Carson: Enters free agency
    4h ago

Houston-Carson recorded 41 tackles, five passes defensed, two interceptions and one fumble recovery over 13 regular-season games in 2023.

Houston-Carson started the season in Baltimore then finished up in Houston, where he played a career-high 447 snaps on defense. Injuries on the back end led to Houston-Carson playing a big role for the Texans, including two pivotal plays in a Week 10 win over the Bengals. He entered unrestricted free agency during the offseason.

  • Jimmie Ward HOU SAF
    Texans' Jimmie Ward: Injury-marred 2023
    4h ago

Ward (quadriceps) recorded 50 tackles, three passes defensed, one interception and one forced fumble over 10 games in 2023.

Ward, a team captain, was beset by injuries all season long. He missed time due to hip, hamstring and shoulder injuries before a quadricep ended his season in December. In between the setbacks, Ward played well, and his one interception was an end-zone pick that sealed a win over Denver. Houston went 6-4 in games he played and could use his stabilizing presence on the back end. Ward turns 33 in July and will be entering his 11th season.

Texans' Henry To'oTo'o: Contributes in rookie season
    4h ago

To'oTo'o recorded 61 tackles, two passes defensed, one forced fumble and one fumble recovery over 15 regular-season games in 2023.

To'oTo'o, a fifth-round draft pick out of Alabama, started from Week 2 to Week 7 and played in both of Houston's playoff games during his rookie season. The Texans lost two linebackers to free agency -- Blake Cashman and Denzel Perryman -- which leaves To'oTo'o as a projected starter for 2024. However, Houston is expected to address the position during the offseason.

The Yankees selected Burdi's contract from Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre on Thursday.

Burdi has had a terrible time staying off the injured list in his pro career, but he's healthy now and won a bullpen spot after an impressive spring. The hard-thrower should work in the middle innings for now.

Pacers' Tyrese Haliburton: Struggles in loss
    3m ago

Haliburton closed with 13 points (4-15 FG, 3-11 3Pt, 2-3 FT), four rebounds and five assists in 31 minutes during Wednesday's 125-99 loss to the Bulls.

Haliburton's efficiency issues caused him to post 13 or fewer points for the second time in his last three outings. The star guard has also now dished out five or fewer assists in just seven games this season. Haliburton has struggled to score across his 14 appearances in March, averaging 16.4 points on 42.7 percent shooting the field and 26.5 percent shooting from three.

Pistons' Jalen Duren: Posts double-double in return
    4m ago

Duren accumulated 11 points (4-6 FG, 3-4 FT), 11 rebounds and four assists over 25 minutes during Wednesday's 106-91 loss to the Timberwolves.

Duren returned to the starting lineup following a three-game absence, and the big man delivered another solid outing on both ends of the court, as has been the case throughout the season when he's been active. Duren has racked up 40 double-doubles across 55 games this season, a figure that ranks ninth in The Association this season.

  • Cade Cunningham DET SG
Pistons' Cade Cunningham: Goes for 32 points in loss
    8m ago

Cunningham notched 32 points (11-23 FG, 3-8 3Pt, 7-8 FT), one rebound, two assists and one steal in 29 minutes during Wednesday's 106-91 loss to the Timberwolves.

Cunningham scored more than one-third of the Pistons' total point haul in this 15-point loss to Minnesota, and the star floor general took a score-first approach in this one, as evidenced by the fact he only delivered two assists. Playing alongside Marcus Sasser in the backcourt might have led to that, but either way, expect Cunningham to continue producing as long as he remains available for an already-eliminated Detroit with roughly two weeks left in the regular season.

Bogdanovic notched 16 points (7-16 FG, 2-7 3Pt), four rebounds, five assists and three steals in 37 minutes during Wednesday's 120-106 win over the Trail Blazers.

Bogdanovic didn't have his best shooting performance and was particularly inaccurate from beyond the arc. Still, the veteran sharpshooter continues to make his presence felt even when his shot isn't falling regularly. Bogdanovic has started in all two games for the Hawks since the All-Star break and is averaging 15.4 points while shooting 39.6 percent from deep in that 15-game span in a starting role.

  • Charlie Lindgren WAS G
Capitals' Charlie Lindgren: Slated to start Thursday
    7m ago

Lindgren is expected to get the road start Thursday against the Maple Leafs, Bailey Johnson of The Washington Post reports.

Lindgren has largely supplanted Darcy Kuemper as the Capitals' lead goaltender in recent weeks and his 2.12 GAA and .929 save percentage behind a 8-2-0 record over the last 10 games is a significant reason why the Capitals are currently sitting in a playoff position. A road start against the Maple Leafs is never an easy assignment but with Auston Matthews (illness) questionable and the Toronto already without Mitch Marner (ankle) and Morgan Reilly (upper body), Lindgren has a chance to face a less potent Toronto attack than normal. Those who have ridden the 30-year-old's fortunes to the fantasy playoffs should continue to do so.
