Odell Beckham Jr. BAL WROdell Beckham: Nothing imminent with Miami
4m agoDolphins general manager Chris Grier said Tuesday that there's "nothing imminent" on a deal between Beckham and the team, Marcel Louis-Jacques of ESPN.com reports.
Beckham was reportedly extended a contract offer by Miami after visiting with the team back in March, but it doesn't appear that a signing is around the corner. The 31-year-old is coming off a forgettable 14-game season with the Ravens, in which he put up a 35-565-3 receiving line, but he could find more success as a No. 3 option behind Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle. It could be that Beckham will need to wait until after the dust of the 2024 NFL Draft has settled to find a landing spot.

Jaylen Waddle MIA WRDolphins' Jaylen Waddle: Fifth-year option to be exercised
7m agoGeneral manager Chris Grier said Tuesday that he expects the Dolphins to pick up Waddle's fifth-year option, Cameron Wolfe of NFL Network reports.
The Dolphins have consistently stated a desire to come to terms with Waddle on a long-term contract, and Grier specifically dismissed trade rumors earlier this offseason. The third-year pro has recorded three straight 1,000-yard seasons to begin his career, becoming the first wideout to do so in franchise history, and there's little question of his value as a No. 2 read behind Tyreek Hill. Picking up Waddle's fifth-year option will keep him under contract with the Dolphins for two more seasons.

25m agoDecker said Tuesday he underwent foot/ankle surgery this offseason and resumed working out mid-February, Justin Rogers of The Detroit News reports.
Decker appears already recovered from his offseason procedure. The 30-year-old left tackle only missed two regular-season games last season, while suiting up for all three of Detroit's postseason contests. Now heading into the final year of his contract, Decker is still playing at a high level.

3h agoSutton wants a new contract and hasn't reported to voluntary OTAs, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports.
Sutton has two seasons remaining on a four-year, $60 million extension, scheduled for a $13 million base salary in 2024 ($2 million guaranteed) and then $13.5 million in 2025 (no guarantees). He scored a career-high 10 touchdowns in 16 games last season, though 90 targets were his fewest since 2020 -- the year he suffered an ACL tear Week 1 -- and he still hasn't come close to matching his career-high 1,112 yards from 2019. The 28-year-old won't necessarily hold out from mandatory team activities later this spring, but the situation is at least worth keeping an eye on until he gets an extension or contract adjustment, or otherwise reports to the Broncos. There's been no indication of his Week 18 ankle injury lingering into the offseason, with the main concern at this point being the lack of a starting-caliber QB on Denver's roster. The team also appears thin at wide receiver, where the starting job across from Sutton could end up going to any of Josh Reynolds, Marvin Mims, Tim Patrick (Achilles) or Brandon Johnson.

Jean-Charles was not tendered by New Orleans as a restricted free agent, but he will return to the team nonetheless. After spending his first two seasons in Green Bay, the 25-year-old suited up for eight games between the 49ers and Saints in 2023. He accumulated four tackles (three solo) in the process. The Appalachian State product will now look to make an impression during offseason workouts.

19h agoThe Packers re-signed Wilson on Monday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.
An undrafted rookie in 2023, Wilson made the Packers' initial 53-man roster following the preseason and even mixed into seven regular-season games, taking 14 carries for 85 yards and hauling in four of five targets for 23 yards while working behind Aaron Jones and AJ Dillon. Green Bay swapped out Jones for Josh Jacobs and also retained Dillon this offseason, meaning Wilson is poised for a similar role in the coming campaign, barring potential additions to the backfield in free agency or the draft.

Even though he was touched up for four earned runs on six hits in just four innings in his first MLB start last Wednesday against the Rays, Soriano's 6:0 K:BB and eight swinging strikes on 72 pitches were encouraging. He'll get another crack at Tampa Bay in his second turn through the rotation, this time at Tropicana Field after the prior outing came at Angel Stadium. The 25-year-old could hold down a spot in the Anaheim rotation until Chase Silseth (elbow) is ready to return from the injured list.

1h agoThe Astros will recall Whitley from Triple-A Sugar Land prior to Tuesday's game versus Atlanta, Chandler Rome of The Athletic reports.
Whitley was once one of the top pitching prospects in baseball before his career got sidetracked by numerous injuries and also control problems. He got a late start to the season at Sugar Land because of a finger injury but returned to make three appearances, allowing four runs with a 4:2 K:BB over three innings. Whitley will work as a reliever for a bullpen that's in need of a fresh arm.

1h agoBird (0-1) allowed one hit and one unearned run across 0.2 innings Monday against the Phillies.
Bird entered the game after other high-leverage options in the Rockies bullpen, most notably Justin Lawrence. With a runner starting the frame on second base, Bird got two quick outs before allowing a single that plated the game-winning run. The Rockies have shuffled reliever roles to begin the season, but Bird still has the only save for the team. It's unclear if he is truly in the mix for saves, as he has allowed at least one earned run in three of his nine appearances and has a 1.66 WHIP with just a 4:3 K:B across 9.2 innings.

Lawrence entered the game in the seventh inning of a tied game to face the sixth through eighth hitters in the Phillies lineup. He's made six appearances on the season and entered in non-traditional closer situations in three of his last four outings. Jake Bird has the only save to this point for the Rockies, and he also pitched the 10th inning of Monday's loss.

2h agoLowe (oblique) is slated to begin a rehab assignment with Triple-A Durham on Thursday, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.
Best of all, Rays manager Kevin Cash said that Lowe might not need too much time at Triple-A given how well he's been feeling. Lowe has been playing in games at extended spring training, and it sounds like he's moved past the Grade 1 right oblique strain that shelved him to begin the season. A return before the end of April would seem to be back on the table for Lowe, who hit 20 homers and stole 32 bases in a breakout 2023 campaign.

2h agoSimpson (elbow) is expected to throw a bullpen session later this week, MLB.com reports.
Simpson opened the season on the 15-day injured list while recovering from left elbow neuritis, but he appeared in line for close to a minimum-length stay on the shelf after he was able to begin a rehab assignment with Single-A Jupiter on April 6. However, he experienced a setback during that one-inning outing and hasn't pitched since. The setback doesn't appear to be a major one given that Simpson should get back on the mound soon, but he still may be around a week away from restarting his rehab assignment.

Love's status for Wednesday's Play-In Tournament battle remains up in the air. It isn't a win-or-go-home scenario for Miami, who would play the winner of Chicago and Atlanta if Philadelphia prevails Wednesday, but Love's ability to rebound and space the frontcourt would be a notable loss if he's ultimately unavailable. Love is dealing with a contusion to his upper arm.

Rozier missed the final four games of the regular season due to neck spasms and still isn't practicing ahead of Wednesday's Play-In Game against the 76ers. Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald reported Monday that Rozier was getting more tests done on his neck, but the Heat have been cautiously optimistic about the shooting guard's availability. Duncan Robinson (back) and Kevin Love (arm) were both limited during Tuesday's practice.

Robinson missed the final three games of the regular season, but his limited participation suggests he's now considered day-to-day. Miami will release its official injury report Tuesday evening, so that's when fantasy managers can expect more clarity on his status for Wednesday's game against the 76ers.

Robinson is "fine" in the words of coach Tom Thibodeau, and he has additional time to continue re-charging while New York awaits the outcome of the Play-In Tournament. Robinson has been volatile across 10 games since returning from ankle surgery, but he represents a valuable platoon element of the Knicks' frontcourt.

34m agoReddish is questionable for Tuesday's Play-In Game against New Orleans due to a right ankle sprain, Khobi Price of The Orange County Register reports.
Reddish did not suit up for the final two games of the regular season, missing a contest due to personal matters and being a healthy scratch for the finale. He's now dealing with pain in the same ankle that has sidelined him for multiple stretches this season, although he has been a minimal factor in the Lakers' rotation of late. Nonetheless, if he's unavailable to play Tuesday, the defensive burden on the wings will fall entirely on the shoulders of Taurean Prince, Rui Hachimura and LeBron James (ankle).

Hakanpaa will miss his 13th straight contest. He still could be available for the beginning of the playoffs, but the Stars won't rush him back into action. The 32-year-old blueliner will conclude the 2023-24 regular season with two goals, 12 points, 56 shots on net, 123 blocked shots and 196 hits in 64 games.

Dadonov would probably benefit from getting into a game before the playoffs, especially considering he has been on the shelf since Feb. 10 versus Montreal. Prior to getting hurt, the veteran forward was struggling to produce on offense with just three points in his previous nine outings. Even if Dadonov does play Wednesday, it will likely be in a bottom-six role.
