Shemar Jean-Charles NO CB
Saints' Shemar Jean-Charles: Back in Big Easy
14h agoJean-Charles re-signed with the Saints on Monday, Howard Balzer of GoPHNX.com reports.
Jean-Charles was not tendered by New Orleans as a restricted free agent, but he will return to the team nonetheless. After spending his first two seasons in Green Bay, the 25-year-old suited up for eight games between the 49ers and Saints in 2023. He accumulated four tackles (three solo) in the process. The Appalachian State product will now look to make an impression during offseason workouts.

Emanuel Wilson GB RB
Packers' Emanuel Wilson: Sticks in Green Bay as ERFA
16h agoThe Packers re-signed Wilson on Monday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.
An undrafted rookie in 2023, Wilson made the Packers' initial 53-man roster following the preseason and even mixed into seven regular-season games, taking 14 carries for 85 yards and hauling in four of five targets for 23 yards while working behind Aaron Jones and AJ Dillon. Green Bay swapped out Jones for Josh Jacobs and also retained Dillon this offseason, meaning Wilson is poised for a similar role in the coming campaign, barring potential additions to the backfield in free agency or the draft.

Nick McCloud NYG CB
Giants' Nick McCloud: Stays in the Big Apple
16h agoMcCloud (back) re-signed with the Giants on Monday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.
McCloud finished his 2023 campaign on the sidelines after getting injured in the team's season finale against the Eagles. Healthy now, the Notre Dame product can focus on being ready for a third campaign in New York after signing his free-agent tender.
-
Maxx Crosby LV DE
Raiders' Maxx Crosby: Fully healthy
16h agoCrosby (knee) said, "I'm feeling better than I ever have," Monday, after he spent much of 2023 fighting through a knee injury that required draining multiple times a week, Nick Shook of NFL.com reports.
Crosby set career highs in combined tackles (90) and sacks (14.5) last season despite spending much of the campaign hampered by a bursa joint issue. The 26-year-old underwent a procedure to correct it in January after the season ended and began rehabbing it soon after, which went "incredible," according to Crosby.

Rashee Rice KC WR
Chiefs' Rashee Rice: Expected to participate in virtual meetings
17h agoCoach Andy Reid indicated Monday that Rice is expected to remotely participate in the initial stage of the Chiefs' voluntary offseason program via virtual meetings, NFL.com reports.
Per Adam Teicher of ESPN.com, Rice -- who is is facing one count of aggravated assault, one count of collision involving serious bodily injury and six counts of collision involving injury stemming from his involvement in a car crash in Dallas last month -- turned himself in to police last week and was subsequently released on bond. According to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network, the league has been closely monitoring developments related to the incident, while Reid noted that it remains to be seen whether the wideout will participate later in the spring when the team's offseason program moves to Kansas City. "I want to keep gathering the information from the law enforcement people,'" Reid said Monday. "We'll just see where everything goes from there (and) let the process take place."

Drew Forbes CLE OT
Drew Forbes: Gets let go
17h agoForbes (back) was released by the Browns on Monday with a failed physical designation, Chris Easterling of the Akron Beacon Journal reports.
Forbes missed all of 2023 due to a back injury suffered during training camp. It's unclear what the injury is specifically or how close he could be to being healthy enough to compete. Either way, the 27-year-old will now be a free agent until he is at least fully recovered.

George Soriano MIA RP
Marlins' George Soriano: Tagged with loss Monday
2m agoSoriano (0-1) recorded his second hold of the season but was stuck with the loss Monday against the Giants, getting charged with three runs on one hit and two walks over two-thirds of an inning.
The right-hander entered the game in the top of the seventh to protect a 3-1 lead, but after giving up a run and leaving two runners on base after he got the hook, Soriano watched Andrew Nardi allow both inherited runners to score. Soriano has had a rough start to the season, but the same could be said about most of the Marlins' bullpen. Through seven innings over eight appearances, he carries a 10.29 ERA, 1.86 WHIP and 8:6 K:BB.
-
Ben Brown CHC RP
Cubs' Ben Brown: Produces quality start
10m agoBrown allowed one run on a hit and two walks over six innings in a no-decision Monday. He struck out four in the win over Arizona.
After coughing up an RBI single in the second inning, Brown retired the final 13 batters he faced. He was crushed for six runs through just 1.2 frames in his MLB debut March 30 but has since given up just two runs over 14.2 innings. He dropped his ERA to 4.41 with a 15:6 K:BB through four MLB appearances. With Jameson Taillon (back) expected to return in the coming days, Brown's role with the Cubs isn't set in stone.
-
George Springer TOR RF
Blue Jays' George Springer: Snags third steal
11m agoSpringer went 0-for-2 with two walks and a stolen base in Monday's win over the Yankees.
The 34-year-old outfielder stole a career-high 20 bases in 2023, and he's off and running again to begin the current campaign. Springer has three steals in three attempts so far, with all three coming in the last six games. While his .215 batting average (14-for-65) is disappointing, his 11:10 BB:K suggests it's a product of bad luck, not a bad approach at the plate. Springer's added two homers, four RBI and nine runs in 17 games as Toronto's leadoff hitter.
-
Brendan Rodgers COL 2B
Rockies' Brendan Rodgers: Sits Monday with illness
11m agoRodgers was scratched from the lineup ahead of Monday's 2-1 extra-inning loss to the Phillies due to an illness, MLB.com reports.
An explanation behind Rodgers' late scratch wasn't immediately provided leading up to the opening pitch, but the Rockies later relayed that the 27-year-old took part in a pregame workout and was held out after feeling under the weather. Alan Trejo picked up the start at second base in Rodgers' stead, going 1-for-3 at the dish.
-
Kevin Ginkel ARI RP
Diamondbacks' Kevin Ginkel: Hit with blown save
11m agoGinkel allowed a run on two hits in one inning Monday. He struck out one batter and blew a save chance during the loss to the Cubs.
Ginkel was tasked with closing out a 2-1 lead in the ninth inning but couldn't finish things off. He eventually let the tying run score on a wild pitch and the Cubs would go on to win in 11 innings. The 30-year-old had converted three straight saves since blowing his first opportunity of the year April 5. Ginkel owns a 3.24 ERA with a 10:2 K:BB through 8.1 innings.
-
Merrill Kelly ARI SP
Diamondbacks' Merrill Kelly: Fans five in no-decision
15m agoKelly yielded a run on three hits and two walks over five innings in a no-decision Monday. He struck out five during the loss to the Cubs.
Aside from a solo homer by Michael Busch, Kelly turned in a standard solid outing. It was Kelly's shortest start of the year but he's now allowed two or fewer runs in each of his first four appearances in 2024. The veteran righty also set a new season high by forcing 13 swinging strikes. He'll carry a 2.19 ERA into his next start, which is lined up to be in San Francisco this weekend.
-
Olivier Sarr OKC C
Thunder's Olivier Sarr: Goes down with ankle injury
12h agoSarr left Monday's Game 3 of the G League Finals against the Maine Celtics due to an ankle injury, Jared Weiss of The Athletic reports.
Sarr was involved in a collision while pursuing a rebound, and he ultimately needed to be carried to the locker room. His return to Monday's clash seems unlikely given the circumstances in which he exited.
-
Draymond Green GS PF
Warriors' Draymond Green: Cleared for Play-In Tournament
14h agoGreen (knee) will play Tuesday versus Sacramento.
Green and Stephen Curry (ankle) have both been removed from Monday's injury report, while Gary Payton (calf) is officially inactive. Malik Monk (knee) and Kevin Huerter (shoulder) represent notable absences for Sacramento, although there should still be no shortage of drama, as three of Golden State's four regular-season meetings versus the Kings this year were decided by exactly one point.
-
Stephen Curry GS PG
Warriors' Stephen Curry: Removed from injury report
14h agoCurry (ankle) does not carry an injury designation into Tuesday's Play-In Tournament game against Sacramento.
Curry and Draymond Green (knee) have both been cleared for action Tuesday, leaving Gary Payton (calf) as the Warriors' lone absence. Golden State will be traveling to Sacramento for Tuesday's showdown, returning to the scene of the crime where Curry dropped 50 points (20-38 FG, 7-18 3Pt) in a victorious Game 7 of last year's first-round series between these teams. Additionally, Curry averaged 31.0 points, 6.3 rebounds and 4.8 assists in four games against the Kings this season.
-
Christian Wood LAL PF
Lakers' Christian Wood: Ruled out for Tuesday's game
17h agoWood (knee) has been ruled out for Tuesday's game against the Pelicans, Dan Woike of the Los Angeles Times reports.
Wood has been sidelined since undergoing an arthroscopic procedure on his left knee in March, and he'll remain sidelined as the Lakers begin postseason play Tuesday. It's unclear if he'll be available at any point if the team advances in the postseason.
-
Jarred Vanderbilt LAL PF
Lakers' Jarred Vanderbilt: Remains out
17h agoVanderbilt (foot) has been ruled out for Tuesday's Play-In Game against the Pelicans.
Vanderbilt's defensive efforts were a key part of the Lakers' run to the Western Conference Finals last season. However, he has been unavailable for most of 2023-24, playing just 29 regular-season games (six appearances). Vanderbilt hasn't played since Feb. 1, so his continued absence shouldn't impact coach Darvin Ham's rotation.
-
LeBron James LAL SF
Lakers' LeBron James: Probable for Tuesday
17h agoJames (ankle) is probable for Tuesday's Play-In Tournament matchup against the Pelicans, Dan Woike of the Los Angeles Times reports.
James continues to deal with left ankle peroneal tendinopathy, but he'll likely be able to suit up as the Lakers begin postseason play Tuesday. He appeared in the team's final three regular-season games and averaged 32.7 points, 11.0 assists, 9.0 rebounds and 3.0 steals in 38.3 minutes per game.
-
Shane Bowers NJ C
Devils' Shane Bowers: Sent down to minors
3m agoBowers was reassigned to AHL Utica on Tuesday.
Bowers played eight games with the big club this year, registering seven shots on goal and three hits. The 24-year-old has played 40 games with Utica, logging nine goals and four assists. He will finish his season in the minors, as Utica has three regular-season games left.
-
Eric Comrie BUF G
Sabres' Eric Comrie: Sharp in finale
4m agoComrie stopped 31 of 33 shots in Monday's 4-2 win over Tampa Bay.
Comrie was solid in his first appearance since March 7, holding the Lightning to a pair of goals en route to his second win of the season, his first since Oct. 21. Overall, the 28-year-old Comrie will finish the year 2-7-0 with an .874 save percentage and 3.69 GAA.
-
Kyle Palmieri NYI C
Islanders' Kyle Palmieri: Extends scoring streak vs. Devils
8m agoPalmieri tallied a goal and an assist in Monday's 4-1 win over New Jersey.
Palmieri extended the Islanders' lead to 2-0 on a power play late in the opening period, deflecting a Mike Reilly shot past Jake Allen, before adding an assist on Brock Nelson's marker in the second. The 33-year-old Palmieri now has points in six straight games, with goals in five of the six. He's up to 29 goals, one shy of a career high, and 53 points through 81 games heading into the Islanders' season finale Wednesday.
-
Graeme Clarke NJ RW
Devils' Graeme Clarke: Sent back to minors
10m agoClarke was demoted to AHL Utica on Tuesday.
Clarke saw action in just three NHL games this season in which he recorded two shots, six hits and two PIM while averaging 11:23 of ice time. The 22-year-old winger will return to the minors to suit up for the Comets, who are long shots to secure a place in the Calder Cup playoffs. In his previous time with the minor-league club, the Minnesota native notched 24 goals and 23 assists in 64 contests. He'll hope to bring that offensive upside to training camp in the fall to make the Opening Night roster.
-
Jake Allen NJ G
Devils' Jake Allen: Struggles Monday
14m agoAllen allowed four goals on 19 shots in Monday's 4-1 loss to the Islanders.
Allen surrendered a pair of tallies in the first period before allowing a goal apiece in each of the final two frames en route to the defeat in New Jersey's season finale. The 33-year-old Allen will wrap up the campaign with a 12-18-4 record, an .895 save percentage and 3.44 GAA across 33 starts between the Devils and Canadiens.
-
Sam Montembeault MON G
Canadiens' Sam Montembeault: Suffers overtime loss
18m agoMontembeault gave up five goals on 35 shots (.857 save percentage) in Monday's 5-4 overtime loss to Detroit.
Montembeault likely has played his final game of the season with the Habs back in action versus Detroit at home Tuesday. The netminder needed just one more win to top the 16 he put up last season, but instead finishes the year tied with that number again. Looking ahead to next season, the 27-year-old Montembeault should enter the campaign as the presumptive No. 1, though Cayden Primeau could challenge for more opportunities.
