Trent Taylor CHI WR49ers' Trent Taylor: Returns to The Bay
1h agoTaylor signed a one-year contract with the 49ers on Tuesday, Lindsey Pallares of the team's official site reports.
Taylor started his career in San Francisco before a two-year stay with the Bengals and spending the 2023 campaign with the Bears. The 29-year-old will likely have the opportunity to earn a role in the return game with the departure of Ray-Ray McCloud in free agency this offseason.

Trent Taylor: Could return to The Bay
2h agoTaylor has talked to the 49ers about a potential return to the team this offseason, Matt Maiocco of NBC Sports Bay Area reports.
Taylor was selected by San Francisco in the fifth round of the 2017 Draft and spent three seasons there before stops in Cincinnati and Chicago. The 49ers do currently have a void in their return game, with Ray-Ray McCloud now in Atlanta, which is likely where the interest in Taylor lies.

4h agoWatson (shoulder) said Tuesday he's already resumed "throwing full speed" but that he's uncertain how large a workload he'll handle during OTAs and minicamp, Mary Kay Cabot of The Cleveland Plain Dealer reports.
Watson clarified that certain members of the Browns' medical staff are in favor of a more conservative approach to the quarterback's recovery from right shoulder surgery, Scott Petrak of the Elyria Chronicle-Telegram, which would wait until training camp to have him fully practice. Still, Watson has been fully forthright in his confidence to be available for the Browns' season opener, and there appear to be no real worries about his Week 1 status. In case Watson misses part of the offseason, or struggles during the fall, Cleveland can lean on newly-signed, experienced backups Jameis Winston and Tyler Huntley.

5h agoDolphins general manager Chris Grier said Tuesday that there's "nothing imminent" on a deal between Beckham and the team, Marcel Louis-Jacques of ESPN.com reports.
Beckham was reportedly extended a contract offer by Miami after visiting with the team back in March, but it doesn't appear that a signing is around the corner. The 31-year-old is coming off a forgettable 14-game season with the Ravens, in which he put up a 35-565-3 receiving line, but he could find more success as a No. 3 option behind Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle. It could be that Beckham will need to wait until after the dust of the 2024 NFL Draft has settled to find a landing spot.

5h agoGeneral manager Chris Grier said Tuesday that he expects the Dolphins to pick up Waddle's fifth-year option, Cameron Wolfe of NFL Network reports.
The Dolphins have consistently stated a desire to come to terms with Waddle on a long-term contract, and Grier specifically dismissed trade rumors earlier this offseason. The third-year pro has recorded three straight 1,000-yard seasons to begin his career, becoming the first wideout to do so in franchise history, and there's little question of his value as a No. 2 read behind Tyreek Hill. Picking up Waddle's fifth-year option will keep him under contract with the Dolphins for two more seasons.

5h agoDecker said Tuesday he underwent foot/ankle surgery this offseason and resumed working out mid-February, Justin Rogers of The Detroit News reports.
Decker appears already recovered from his offseason procedure. The 30-year-old left tackle missed only two regular-season games last season while suiting up for all three of Detroit's postseason contests. Now heading into the final year of his contract, Decker is still playing at a high level.

The shortstop's insertion into the lineup corresponds with Ke'Bryan Hayes's late scratch.

The 24-year-old has not taken the court since April 7, but his excellent two-way play was pivotal down the stretch in keeping Chicago afloat, as the Bulls carry a minus-1.9 net rating on the season -- ranking 21st in the league.

Melton has logged just five appearances since Jan. 12, being unable to return to 100 percent after initially dealing with a lumbar stress reaction in his spine. Subsequent attempts to return to action have been short-lived, and his absence from Philadelphia's rotation is a notable loss defensively. Win or lose Wednesday, Philadelphia will have another postseason contest in store, but Melton's outlook is currently bleak.

4m agoGuhle sustained a head injury April 4 versus the Lightning that cost him the last seven games of the season, but he hasn't been ruled out from joining Team Canada at the IIHF World Championship in May, Arpon Basu of The Athletic reports.
Guhle will conclude his second NHL season with 22 points, 95 shots on net, 116 hits, 178 blocked shots, 56 PIM and a minus-8 rating over 70 contests. He mainly played in a top-four role. Guhle's injury was not classified as a concussion, and it's possible he could get a little more playing time at Worlds before the offseason.

Beckman wasn't slated to play Thursday versus the Kraken, so he'll head back to Iowa to close out the season. The 22-year-old produced two assists, 13 hits and 12 PIM over 11 NHL contests this season.

Wallstedt won both of his games during this stint on the NHL roster, but those were against the Blackhawks and the Sharks. Marc-Andre Fleury will start Thursday's season finale versus the Kraken, so there's no need to keep Wallstedt in the NHL to close out the campaign.

He will conclude the regular season with four goals, 14 points, 79 shots on net, 140 blocked shots and 140 hits in 76 appearances. Matt Grzelcyk is slated to replace Carlo versus the Senators.

Forsberg played well in his last start Thursday versus Tampa Bay, turning aside 24 of 26 shots in regulation before securing a 3-2 win in the shootout. He'll try to end the season with a bang by picking up a win in a tough road matchup with a Boston team that's 24-10-6 at home this year.

1h agoImama (upper body) will not be in action versus the Bruins on Tuesday, TSN 1200 Ottawa reports.
Imama logged just six NHL games this season in which he failed to register a point while recording 22 hits, one block and seven PIM. The 27-year-old winger hasn't scored a goal since the 2021-22 campaign when he was with the Coyotes. In the minors this season, Imama hasn't been significantly more productive with just 10 points in 53 outings.
