Breaking Fantasy News
Rob Gronkowski said he will be playing Sunday against the Dolphins, but his head coach, as you might expect, wants to pump the breaks a little bit. "I'm glad that Rob's optimistic about this situation," Bill Belichick said Tuesday. "We'll go through the week of practice and take a look at everything, everybody, and see where everybody's at and try to do what we feel like is best for the team. With all due respect to Rob -- I'm glad he feels the way he does -- but, in the end, we'll have to make the decision we feel like is best for the team and we'll do that as we go through the week." Gronkowski is coming back from a torn ACL and MCL in his right knee suffered in December
The regular season hasn't even begun yet, but Belichick's deceit with the media is already in midseason form . It's a brilliant attempt at trying to put the cat back in the bag, but it's too late -- and I'm sure Belichick is irked that Gronk was so forthright earlier in the week. I have said all summer that I wouldn't draft Gronkowski. But now that we are here, and it's looking like he is at least healthy enough to play, I'm starting to have a change of heart. If you did draft him, I think you've got to start him. Gronk did hint that he will be on a limited snap count, but you know he doesn't need to be out there for every play to give you a worthwhile fantasy line. When Gronkowski debuted last season after an offseason full of surgeries, he was on the field for 51 of the Patriots' 79 offensive snaps. He caught eight passes for 114 yards. And it's worth a little something to note that the Dolphins allowed the fifth-most fantasy points to tight ends in 2013.
