Tyler Shatley JAC OGJaguars' Tyler Shatley: Staying in Jacksonville
17h agoThe Jaguars re-signed Shatley on Friday.
Not all of the details of the deal are known at this point, but Shatley is now poised to spend at least next season in Jacksonville - his 11th straight year with the team. The Jaguars will likely seek to add talent at offensive line during the upcoming draft, but Shatley figures to at least provide veteran depth to the interior of the unit in 2024.

Andrew Ogletree IND TEColts' Drew Ogletree: Back with team
20h agoGM Chris Ballard noted Friday that Ogletree is off the NFL's Commissioner Exempt List, Stephen Holder of ESPN.com reports.
Per the report, Ogletree -- whose charges stemming from his arrest in December were dismissed last month -- is back with the Colts during offseason workouts. Prior to being placed on the Commissioner Exempt List on Dec. 30, Ogletree caught nine of his 21 targets for 147 yards and two TDs in 12 regular-season games with Indianapolis.

J.K. Dobbins LAC RBChargers' J.K. Dobbins: Should be ready for training camp
20h agoDobbins (Achilles), who agreed to terms with the Chargers on Thursday, "should be" ready for training camp according to GM Joe Hortiz, Daniel Popper of The Athletic reports.
Tom Pelissero of NFL Network relayed last month that Dobbins -- who suffered a torn Achilles in Baltimore's regular-season opener in 2023 -- has been cleared for football activities, with previous reports having noted that the running back had resumed running this offseason. Based on the assessment of Hortiz on Thursday, Dobbins is still working his way back from his injury; however, if the 2020 second-rounder is able to return to form, he and Gus Edwards (who also came over from the Ravens in free agency) have a chance to provide an effective 1-2 punch in the Chargers' backfield in 2024 under the guidance of offensive coordinator Greg Roman, who both players worked with in Baltimore.

Kerby Joseph DET DBLions' Kerby Joseph: Should be 100 percent for camp
22h agoJoseph (hip) -- who won't take part in practices this spring -- expects to be fully healthy by the start of training camp, Dave Birkett of the Detroit Free Press reports.
Joseph underwent an offseason procedure to address a hip injury that originally occurred in Week 2 of the 2023 campaign. Though he returned to play after missing two contests en route to logging 82 tackles and four picks in 15 regular-season outings overall, the issue evidently lingered to the point that it required attention following the postseason. Once he's back to 100 percent, Joseph will reprise his starting free safety role with the Lions.

D.J. Chark CAR WRDJ Chark: Visits with Chargers
23h agoChark visited the Chargers on Thursday, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
Few teams are more in need of wide receivers, with the Chargers having released Mike Williams and traded Keenan Allen earlier this offseason. Chark has never come close to matching his 1,008-yard, eight-TD performance in 2019 for Jacksonville, but he did top 500 yards both of the past two seasons in Detroit and Carolina, starting 21 of 26 games along the way. Chark will turn 28 in September and doesn't figure to command a large contract.

Courtland Sutton DEN WRBroncos' Courtland Sutton: No concern about OTA absence
23h agoBroncos GM George Paton suggested Thursday that he isn't worried about Sutton's absence from voluntary offseason workouts, Zac Stevens of TheDNVR.com reports. "It's 100 percent voluntary," Paton said. "It's the first week of the offseason program. I've talked to Courtland. He's in a good place, and I'll just leave it at that."
Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reported Tuesday that Sutton's absence from voluntary OTAs is related to wanting a new contract. The wideout has two years and approximately $27.6 million remaining on his current deal, with only $2 million of that guaranteed. It's not the type of situation with especially high risk for a holdout, and Sutton looks to be especially important for Denver's offense after the team traded WR Jerry Jeudy to Cleveland in the offseason. It's not yet clear who will start across from Sutton at wide receiver, nor is it clear who will get the nod under center Week 1. The Broncos still have a lot to work out this spring and summer, with the upcoming NFL Draft presumably being a piece of that puzzle.

4m agoSmith entered Friday's game as a pinch hitter and finished the game in right field. He went 0-for-2 with an RBI and a run scored in a 17-1 win over San Francisco.
The Diamondbacks recalled Smith from Triple-A Reno on Friday after designated Jace Peterson for assignment. Smith has spent parts of four seasons in the majors and will serve as a left-handed bat off the bench while providing occasional breaks for the team's regular outfielders.

Randal Grichuk ARI RFDiamondbacks' Randal Grichuk: Extends hit streak
10m agoGrichuk went 2-for-4 with a double, two RBI and a run scored in Friday's 17-1 win over the Giants.
The righty-hitting Grichuk was in the lineup against a left-handed starter, and the outfielder participated in the fun with a two-run double in the fifth inning. He singled an inning earlier to extend a hit streak to five games. When the Diamondbacks built a big lead in the later innings, he was removed for a pinch hitter and replaced in right field by Pavin Smith, who was recalled from Triple-A Reno on Friday. As a lefty batter, Smith is not expected to challenge Grichuk's current role. Grichuk has a .265/.278/.471 slash line with one home run, four doubles, six RBI and four runs over 36 plate appearances.

Jeremy Pena HOU SSAstros' Jeremy Pena: Another multi-hit effort
6h agoPena went 3-for-4 with a double, an RBI, a run scored and a stolen base Friday against the Nationals.
Pena delivered an RBI double in the second inning and scored in the same frame. He also chipped in his third stolen base of the season after singling in the fifth frame. Pena has at least one hit in 11 of his last 12 games, and he's gone 18-for-51 with three RBI and seven runs scored.

6h agoDiaz went 2-for-4 with a double, an RBI and a run scored Friday against the Nationals.
Diaz got the scoring started for Houston with an RBI double in the second inning before coming around to score. Friday's effort marked his fourth multi-hit performance in his last 10 games, during which he's gone 12-for-41 with five RBI and five runs scored.

Dubon started in center field and hit ninth, which marked his ninth start in the last 11 games. In that span, he's gone 13-for-36 with a home run, nine RBI and a stolen base. Dubon has primarily cut into Jake Meyers' playing time, and that could continue so long as he remains hot at the plate.

Harrison Bader NYM CFMets' Harrison Bader: Gathers four hits and a steal
6h agoBader went 4-for-5 with a double, a stolen base, one RBI and a run scored in Friday's win over the Dodgers.
Bader drove in the second New York run with a single in the second inning before swiping a bag in the sixth. Mets center fielder has collected a hit in 11 of his past 13 games, batting .361 (17-for-47) with nine runs scored, six RBI and four steals over the span. Overall, Bader is slashing .333/.367/.421 over 60 plate appearances this the season. He is firmly cemented in the Mets lineup batting eighth or ninth every game.

Murray went to the locker room at the end of the first half with left hip soreness, but he's been cleared to return. He'll be asked to play a big role down the stretch with the Kings facing a nine-point deficit to begin the third quarter.

10h agoMurray went to the locker room after suffering a left hip injury during the second quarter of Friday's Play-In Game against the Pelicans, Will Guillory of The Athletic reports.
Murray appeared to slip on a wet spot on the court, and he was reportedly favoring his hip on the way to the locker room, per Sean Cunningham of Fox 40 Sacramento. Trey Lyles and Colby Jones would likely be asked to step up if Murray can't return.

Nikola Vucevic CHI CBulls' Nikola Vucevic: Leads team with 14 boards
10h agoVucevic notched 16 points (7-17 FG, 2-5 3Pt), 14 rebounds, five assists, one block and two steals over 35 minutes during Friday's 112-91 Play-In Game loss to the Heat.
Vucevic turned in a valiant effort in Friday's elimination game, but the Heat cruised to a big victory with the help of Tyler Herro and Jamie Jaquez. Vucevic was held in check offensively along with the rest of the Chicago squad, as the Bulls were held to 91 points on 38.0 percent shooting from the field. The 33-year-old closed the season with four consecutive double-doubles.

11h agoGreen closed Friday's 112-91 Play-In Game loss to the Heat with 12 points (5-6 FG, 0-1 3Pt, 2-2 FT), three rebounds, three assists and two steals over 17 minutes.
Green led Chicago's bench with 12 points, but his effort wasn't enough to help his team advance to the opening round of the postseason. He finished the 2023-24 campaign on a high note by putting up 10 or more points in seven of eight appearances over his final month of action.

11h agoDeRozan ended Friday's 112-91 Play-In Game loss to the Heat with 22 points (8-16 FG, 3-6 3Pt, 3-4 FT), three rebounds, four assists, one block and one steal across 41 minutes.
DeRozan did his part as his squad looked to advance to the opening round of the postseason, knocking down 50.0 percent of his tries from the field while contributing on the defensive end. He went on an impressive run to end the 2023-24 campaign, averaging 29.5 points, 4.3 rebounds, 6.0 assists and 1.5 steals over his last six appearances.

Bam Adebayo MIA CHeat's Bam Adebayo: Slow yet efficient night
11h agoAdebayo finished Friday's 112-91 Play-In Game win over the Bulls with 13 points (5-8 FG, 1-2 3Pt, 2-4 FT), four rebounds, four assists and two blocks over 32 minutes.
Adebayo didn't have the type of performance one would expect in a big-time game, but he was calculated in his chances and enjoyed the show as Tyler Herro led the Heat to victory with a massive showing. Friday marked Adebayo's lowest rebounding total since April 10, so he'll need to get back on track on the glass during Miami's upcoming series against Boston to have a chance.

Olli Maatta DET DRed Wings' Olli Maatta: Caps off productive campaign
5m agoMaatta posted four goals, 14 assists, 96 blocked shots and a team-leading plus-14 rating through 72 games this season.
Maatta didn't post any type of stat that would enthrall the masses in fantasy hockey, but he was efficient for a retooled Red Wings blue line that had desperately needed cohesion and greater consistency compared to the prior campaign. The 2024-25 campaign will be a contract year for Maatta before he'd be able to hit the open market as an unrestricted free agent.

Jake Walman DET DRed Wings' Jake Walman: Robust totals in abbreviated season
19m agoWalman finished the season with a career-high 21 points (12 goals, nine assists) to complement 42 hits and 151 blocked shots through 63 games.
Walman was bogged down by an illness in January and a lower-body issue limited him to two games in the season's final month. But when healthy, Walman surfaced with a series of special moments. The skilled defenseman surged to a three-point performance while facing the Predators in the penultimate contest of 2023, and his penalty-shot goal in overtime against the Canucks on Feb. 11 roused the home crowd. Walman's industrious style of play makes him a good fit in Detroit, though he may a bit too injury prone to stay on fantasy rosters for a sustained period of time.

Christian Fischer DET RWRed Wings' Christian Fischer: Discouraging finish in Motown
1h agoFischer completed his debut campaign with the Red Wings, adding five goals, 14 assists and 138 hits through 79 games. He was neutral in the plus-minus category.
Despite a bottom-six role, Fischer has proven that he's capable of providing a decent amount of offense, but his production screeched to a halt at a time that the Red Wings were desperate in their attempts to clinch a playoff berth. Fischer was held without a point for the final 12 games, failing to provide ancillary scoring for the Original Six club that indeed failed to make its way into the postseason. This very well could end up being a "one-and-done" stint for Fischer in the Motor City, as the physical winger is a pending unrestricted free agent.

Ben Chiarot DET DRed Wings' Ben Chiarot: Caps off well-rounded campaign
1h agoChiarot finished with five goals, 15 assists, 163 hits and 167 blocked shots for the 2023-24 campaign.
Chiarot averaged 19:47 of ice time in his second season with the Red Wings and 11th career campaign in general. He's a serviceable blueliner, albeit not the type that will captivate the masses in fantasy hockey. Chiarot's power-play role was left behind in Montreal when the Habs dealt him to the Panthers in March of 2022, and the Wings have since rendered him more of a stay-at-home style of defenseman. Chiarot is halfway through a four-year, $19 million deal with the Wings, and there's a modified no-trade clause baked in there as well.

Joseph Veleno DET CRed Wings' Joe Veleno: Improves in fourth year
2h agoVeleno finished with 12 goals, 16 assists and a minus-16 rating through 80 games of the 2023-24 campaign.
Veleno established new career highs for goals and helpers, but that should be taken with a grain of salt, as this was just his fourth year in the league, including a five-game sample in the 2020-21 campaign. When Veleno was drafted in the first round (No. 30 overall) in 2018, the consensus thought among hockey pundits was that the skilled forward would rapidly evolve into a top-six skater with heavy utilization on the power play, but that hasn't materialized. Veleno took a pay cut ahead of last season and ended up with a one-year, $825,000 contract to remain with the Wings. The 24-year-old is set to become a restricted free agent after showing modest improvement this season.

Justin Holl DET DRed Wings' Justin Holl: Opportunities scarce in Motown
2h agoHoll was a part-time player for the Red Wings in 2023-24, with five assists representing his point total through 38 games.
Expectations were high for Holl since the Wings granted him a three-year, $10.2 million contract last summer, but the right-shot defenseman wasn't utilized nearly as often as he was with the Maple Leafs for the first six years of his NHL career. Last season, Holl picked up a pair of goals, 16 assists, 139 blocked shots and 151 hits in 80 games for Toronto, and he averaged 20:14 of ice time. The Wings' blue line was much more crowded in comparison this year, leaving Holl as the odd-man out in terms of opportunities.
