Stefon Diggs NE WR
Patriots' Stefon Diggs: Practicing without knee brace
1d agoDiggs (ACL) participated in on-field work in uniform and without a brace on his right knee at Day 3 of OTAs on Thursday, Taylor Kyles of CLNSMedia.com reports.
The Patriots' photo release of OTAs reveals Diggs looking healthy and without any apparent hindrances related to his right knee, in which he suffered a torn right ACL on Oct. 27. While the 31-year-old wideout likely still has some hurdles to overcome in his rehab before being cleared for contact, his ability to get in some on-field work at voluntary OTAs lends further optimism to the notion he'll be a full-go for Week 1. Since signing Diggs to a three-year, $69 million deal in free agency, New England added a speedy vertical threat to the wide receiver room in the form of third-round pick Kyle Williams, plus a capable pass catcher in the backfield in second-rounder TreVeyon Henderson. Those additions don't represent huge threats to Diggs' position as the clear top target for second-year quarterback Drake Maye, health permitting, but Henderson and Williams are explosive options that this offense had otherwise been lacking in that regard with incumbent wideouts DeMario Douglas, Kayshon Boutte, Kendrick Bourne, Mack Hollins, Ja'Lynn Polk (shoulder) and Javon Baker.

Sean Murphy-Bunting ARI CB
Cardinals' Sean Murphy-Bunting: Done for season
2d agoMurphy-Bunting (undisclosed) was placed on the reserve/non-football injury list by the Cardinals on Thursday, Theo Mackie of The Arizona Republic reports.
The type of injury was not disclosed by either Murphy-Bunting or the Cardinals, but the nature of the transaction means that it happened away from team facilities and that the cornerback will miss the 2025 season. Murphy-Bunting started 15 games for the Cardinals in 2024, the first year of a three-year free-agent contract he signed the previous March. Arizona has two other experienced corners, Starling Thomas and Garrett Williams, back from last year as well as 2025 second-round pick Will Johnson.

Jermaine Burton CIN WR
Bengals' Jermaine Burton: Impressing at camp
2d agoHead coach Zac Taylor told reporters Wednesday that Burton has "done a good job" this offseason, Chris Roling of USA Today reports.
Burton, a 2024 third-round pick from Alabama, struggled throughout his rookie campaign, catching just four passes for 107 yards and tallying 378 kick-return yards over 14 games. Additionally, the Bengals had concerns about the 23-year-old's character, as he missed a pregame walkthrough and was involved in other incidents during the 2024 season. However, Taylor seems to be impressed with Burton's progression this offseason. If he can continue to impresses Cincinnati's staff this summer, Burton could serve as the team's No. 3 wide receiver in 2025.

Maxx Crosby LV DE
Raiders' Maxx Crosby: Past ankle issue
2d agoCrosby (ankle) was a full participant in Wednesday's practice, Tashan Reed of The Athletic reports.
Crosby missed the final five games of the Raiders' 2024 campaign due to an ankle injury, but his full practice participation Wednesday suggests he's already moved past the issue. The Eastern Michigan product inked a three-year, $106.5 million extension to keep him in Las Vegas in early March after posting 59.5 sacks across six seasons with the team. Now back to full health, Crosby is expected to remain one of the NFL's top defensive playmakers in 2025.

Aidan Hutchinson DET DE
Lions' Aidan Hutchinson: Back to full health
2d agoHutchinson (leg) told reporters Thursday that he's fully cleared to return, Eric Woodyard of ESPN.com reports.
Hutchinson was the frontrunner for Defensive Player of the Year before sustaining a season-ending leg injury in the Lions' Week 6 win over the Cowboys in 2024. However, he now appears to be completely past the issue. Over the Michigan product's first three years in the NFL, he appeared in 39 regular-season games and recorded 132 total tackles, including 28.5 sacks, 10 passes defended, with four interceptions, and four forced fumbles. Now back to full health, Hutchinson is expected to continue wreaking havoc on opposing quarterbacks in 2025.

Brian Burns NYG LB
Giants' Brian Burns: Contract restructured
2d agoThe Giants converted $10 million of Burns' base salary into a signing bonus Thursday, Field Yates of ESPN reports.
According to Yates, the Giants signed 2025 third-overall pick Abdul Carter on Thursday and converted part of Burns' salary into a signing bonus to stay under the salary cap. The 2019 first-round pick made an impact in his first year with the Giants, recording 71 total tackles, including 8.5 sacks, and eight passes defended over 17 regular-season contests. He's now expected to be a part of one of the NFL's top pass-rush duos in 2025, starting opposite Carter.

Ha-seong Kim TB 2B
Rays' Ha-Seong Kim: Set to begin rehab assignment
3m agoRays manager Kevin Cash said Saturday that Kim (shoulder) is slated to begin a rehab assignment with Triple-A Durham on Monday, Ryan Bass of FanDuel Sports Network Sun reports.
Kim has been participating in on-field drills and has been batting out of the cage and is ready to take the next step in his recovery by embarking on a rehab assignment. The 29-year-old shortstop suffered a right shoulder injury last August, which was severe enough for him to miss the rest of the 2024 season and undergo surgery in October. How Kim's shoulder reacts to a larger workload will dictate when he'll return to the majors to make his 2025 debut.

Grant Holmes ATL SP
Braves' Grant Holmes: Strikes out six in win
7m agoHolmes (3-3) earned the win against the Padres on Saturday, allowing one run on six hits and one walk with six strikeouts over seven innings.
Holmes allowed a run in the third inning but was otherwise fantastic, tossing 65 of 94 pitches for strikes with 12 whiffs. The 29-year-old has now logged quality starts in four of five May outings, issuing just one walk three times in that span. He owns a 3.68 ERA, 1.16 WHIP and 55:26 K:BB across 58.2 innings and lines up for a home matchup with the Red Sox next weekend.
-
Sean Reynolds SD RP
Padres' Sean Reynolds: Takes loss as opener
13m agoReynolds (0-1) took the loss against Atlanta on Saturday, allowing three runs on six hits and no walks with one strikeout over 2.2 innings.
Reynolds tossed 35 of 57 pitches for strikes but was hit around in his first major-league start. The 27-year-old owns a 7.45 ERA, 1.45 WHIP and 10:3 K:BB across 9.2 innings and should return to the bullpen after making a spot start in place of Michael King (shoulder).

Miguel Amaya CHC C
Cubs' Miguel Amaya: Set to go on IL
16m agoCubs manager Craig Counsell said after Saturday's 6-4 loss to the Reds that Amaya will be placed on the 10-day injured due to left oblique strain, Taylor McGregor of Marquee Sports Network reports.
Amaya was removed in the fifth inning of Saturday's game after suffering the injury while throwing to second base on an Elly De La Cruz steal attempt. He'll return to Chicago to undergo further testing and determine the severity of the strain, but the 26-year-old backstop could be facing a lengthy stint on the IL. Moises Ballesteros will likely be recalled from Triple-A Iowa to serve as the backup catcher behind Carson Kelly while Amaya is recovering from his injury.

David Bednar PIT RP
Pirates' David Bednar: Secures fifth save
17m agoBednar picked up the save in Saturday's 2-1 win over the Brewers. He allowed one hit, zero walks and one hit by pitch while striking out zero over a scoreless inning.
Bednar didn't spare the dramatics Saturday, hitting Caleb Durbin and giving up a base hit to Joey Ortiz before inducing a Brice Turang double play to close out the game. The right-hander faltered in a non-save situation Friday, surrendering a solo home run and issuing two walks before being pulled after recording only one out. The 30-year-old has struggled mightily this season, pitching to a 5.17 ERA and 1.60 WHIP across 15.2 innings in 19 appearances. Despite his struggles, as well as the effectiveness of Dennis Santana, Bednar appears to be back in the closer role for the Pirates.
-
Framber Valdez HOU SP
Astros' Framber Valdez: Logs quality start in win
21m agoValdez (4-4) earned the win against the Mariners on Saturday, allowing one run on four hits and four walks with five strikeouts over six innings.
Valdez battled through command issues, tying a season high with four walks while generating just seven whiffs on 101 pitches. Despite the lack of swing-and-miss stuff, the southpaw extended his streak to four straight quality starts and has allowed three earned runs or fewer in eight of 11 outings this season. He'll carry a 3.39 ERA, 1.14 WHIP and 64:23 K:BB across 69 innings into a home matchup with the Rays next weekend.

Mitchell Robinson NY C
Knicks' Mitchell Robinson: Logs postseason-high 29 minutes
17h agoRobinson had six points (2-3 FG, 2-4 FT), nine rebounds and three blocks in 29 minutes during Friday's 114-109 loss to the Pacers in Game 2 of the Eastern Conference Finals.
Robinson continues to play a key role for the Knicks, playing at least 29 minutes for just the second time all season. With Karl-Anthony Towns struggling on the defensive end, Robinson has seen an uptick in playing time, logging at least 20 minutes in six of the past eight games. New York will need more from its core players, now trailing 2-0 with the series shifting to Indiana for games 3 and 4.
-
Josh Hart NY SF
Knicks' Josh Hart: Sub-par effort in Game 2 loss
17h agoHart finished with six points (2-3 FG, 2-2 FT), six rebounds, one assist, one block and one steal over 28 minutes during Friday's 114-109 loss to Indiana in Game 2 of the Eastern Conference Finals.
Hart played poorly in Friday's loss, which was arguably his worst game of the playoffs. Although his scoring cannot always be relied upon, his peripheral numbers typically make up for any offensive slip-ups. However, that was not the case, as he only logged 28 minutes. Hart will look to turn things around in Game 3, slated for Sunday in Indiana.
-
Karl-Anthony Towns NY C
Knicks' Karl-Anthony Towns: Only 28 minutes in loss Friday
17h agoTowns finished Friday's 114-109 loss to the Pacers in Game 2 of the Eastern Conference Finals with 20 points (6-14 FG, 2-5 3Pt, 6-6 FT) and seven rebounds across 28 minutes.
Towns played just 28 minutes in the loss, the fewest he has played thus far in the playoffs. Meanwhile, Mitchell Robinson played a postseason-high 29 minutes, with head coach Tom Thibodeau leaning into Robinson's defensive upside. Although Towns should be able to bounce back, his defensive shortcomings are proving to be an issue against the Pacers. New York will now head to Indiana for Game 3 and Game 4, which could be viewed as must-win situations.
-
Andrew Nembhard IND PG
Pacers' Andrew Nembhard: Efficient performance Friday
17h agoNembhard finished with 12 points (5-8 FG, 2-2 3Pt), three rebounds, two assists and one steal over 37 minutes during Friday's 114-109 victory over New York in Game 2 of the Eastern Conference Finals.
Nembhard continues to play his role to perfection, tallying double-digits for the eighth time in the past nine games. He has shot at least 60 percent from the floor in the past three games, landing multiple key shots toward the backend of games. The Pacers now lead the Eastern Conference Finals 2-0 and will head back to Indiana for games 3 and 4. A pair of victories would mean a trip to the NBA Finals for just the second time in the team's history.
-
T.J. McConnell IND PG
Pacers' T.J. McConnell: Key minutes in Game 2 victory
17h agoMcConnell recorded 10 points (5-8 FG, 0-2 3Pt), two rebounds and four assists over 14 minutes during Friday's 114-109 victory over the Knicks in Game 2 of the Eastern Conference Finals.
McConnell scored double-digits for the second straight game and the fourth time in the past five games. Despite continuing to play a modest role, McConnell's contributions have been significant in the context of the series. The Pacers have the ability to run a deeper rotation than the Knicks, of which McConnell is a valuable piece. Indiana will now head home for games 3 and 4, with an opportunity to wrap up the series with two more victories.
-
Jalen Brunson NY PG
Knicks' Jalen Brunson: Elite stat line not enough Friday
20h agoBrunson finished with 36 points (13-27 FG, 5-12 3Pt, 5-5 FT), three rebounds, 11 assists and one steal across 39 minutes during Friday's 114-109 loss to the Pacers in Game 2 of the Eastern Conference Finals.
Brunson has surpassed the 35-point mark in his two outings in the series, but the Knicks are facing a 0-2 deficit ahead of two pivotal contests in Indiana in the coming days. The Knicks need Brunson to be at his best if they're going to mount a comeback, and so far, the team's supporting cast has struggled to perform. Brunson posted 43 points in Game 1.

Sean Walker CAR D
Hurricanes' Sean Walker: Not expected to play
15m agoWalker (undisclosed) won't play Saturday in Game 3 versus the Panthers, Walt Ruff of the Hurricanes' official site reports.
Walker participated in part of warmups but ultimately won't be able to suit up for Game 3. The 30-year-old defenseman was a game-time decision after sustaining an injury he was able to partially play through in Game 2. Walker will be replaced by Alexander Nikishin in the lineup Saturday.

Sergei Bobrovsky FLA G
Panthers' Sergei Bobrovsky: Set to start Game 3
2h agoBobrovsky will patrol the home crease in Game 3 against Carolina on Saturday, according to George Richards of Florida Hockey Now.
Bobrovsky is coming off a 17-save performance in Thursday's 5-0 shutout win over the Hurricanes in Game 2. He is riding a three-game winning streak and has allowed two goals or fewer in six straight starts. Bobrovsky has a 10-4 record with three shutouts, a 2.13 GAA and a .910 save percentage across 14 appearances this postseason. Carolina has registered the second-most shots per game (31.8) in the 2025 Stanley Cup Playoffs.
-
Roope Hintz DAL LW
Stars' Roope Hintz: Status undetermined for Game 3
6h agoHintz (lower body) is awaiting test results to determine his availability for Sunday's Game 3 in Edmonton, per Sam Nestler of DLLS Stars.
Hintz was injured during Friday's 3-0 loss to the Oilers when Darnell Nurse slashed him in the third period. The 28-year-old Hintz needed to be helped off the ice after the incident. Hintz has five goals and 11 points across 15 playoff appearances this year. Wyatt Johnston might shift into the top six if Hintz is unavailable.
-
Sean Walker CAR D
Hurricanes' Sean Walker: Game-time call Saturday
7h agoWalker (undisclosed) will be a game-time decision for Game 3 in Florida on Saturday, Cory Lavalette of the North State Journal reports.
Walker participated in Saturday's morning skate, but he left the ice before the end of practice. Walker was injured in the second period of Game 2 against the Panthers on Thursday, playing only 9:52. Should Walker sit out Saturday's clash, look for rookie Alexander Nikishin to enter the lineup.
-
Pyotr Kochetkov CAR G
Hurricanes' Pyotr Kochetkov: Tending twine in Game 3
8h agoKochetkov will defend the road net against Florida on Saturday in Game 3, Tom Gulitti of NHL.com reports.
Kochetkov has a 1-0 record with a 2.57 GAA and an .891 save percentage in three appearances this postseason. After Frederik Andersen got the hook in Game 2, the 25-year-old Kochetkov stopped four of the five shots he faced in relief in Thursday's 5-0 loss to the Panthers. Florida has the second-most goals per game (3.93) in the 2025 Stanley Cup Playoffs.
-
Jalen Chatfield CAR D
Hurricanes' Jalen Chatfield: Remains out for Game 3
8h agoChatfield (undisclosed) isn't expected to play in Game 3 against the Panthers on Saturday, Cory Lavalette of the North State Journal reports.
Chatfield wasn't a participant in Saturday's morning skate and will miss a fourth straight game with an injury that has kept him out since the final contest of Carolina's second-round series against the Capitals. The 29-year-old has played well when he's been in the lineup, scoring a goal and holding a plus-6 rating across nine appearances this postseason.
