Stefon Diggs NE WR
Patriots' Stefon Diggs: Practicing without knee brace
4h agoDiggs (ACL) participated in on-field work in uniform and without a brace on his right knee at Day 3 of OTAs on Thursday, Taylor Kyles of CLNSMedia.com reports.
The Patriots' photo release of OTAs reveals Diggs looking healthy and without any apparent hindrances related to his right knee, in which he suffered a torn right ACL on Oct. 27. While the 31-year-old wideout likely still has some hurdles to overcome in his rehab before being cleared for contact, his ability to get in some on-field work at voluntary OTAs lends further optimism to the notion he'll be a full-go for Week 1. Since signing Diggs to a three-year, $69 million deal in free agency, New England added a speedy vertical threat to the wide receiver room in the form of third-round pick Kyle Williams, plus a capable pass catcher in the backfield in second-rounder TreVeyon Henderson. Those additions don't represent huge threats to Diggs' position as the clear top target for second-year quarterback Drake Maye, health permitting, but Henderson and Williams are explosive options that this offense had otherwise been lacking in that regard with incumbent wideouts DeMario Douglas, Kayshon Boutte, Kendrick Bourne, Mack Hollins, Ja'Lynn Polk (shoulder) and Javon Baker.

Sean Murphy-Bunting ARI CB
Cardinals' Sean Murphy-Bunting: Done for season
23h agoMurphy-Bunting (undisclosed) was placed on the reserve/non-football injury list by the Cardinals on Thursday, Theo Mackie of The Arizona Republic reports.
The type of injury was not disclosed by either Murphy-Bunting or the Cardinals, but the nature of the transaction means that it happened away from team facilities and that the cornerback will miss the 2025 season. Murphy-Bunting started 15 games for the Cardinals in 2024, the first year of a three-year free-agent contract he signed the previous March. Arizona has two other experienced corners, Starling Thomas and Garrett Williams, back from last year as well as 2025 second-round pick Will Johnson.

Jermaine Burton CIN WR
Bengals' Jermaine Burton: Impressing at camp
1d agoHead coach Zac Taylor told reporters Wednesday that Burton has "done a good job" this offseason, Chris Roling of USA Today reports.
Burton, a 2024 third-round pick from Alabama, struggled throughout his rookie campaign, catching just four passes for 107 yards and tallying 378 kick-return yards over 14 games. Additionally, the Bengals had concerns about the 23-year-old's character, as he missed a pregame walkthrough and was involved in other incidents during the 2024 season. However, Taylor seems to be impressed with Burton's progression this offseason. If he can continue to impresses Cincinnati's staff this summer, Burton could serve as the team's No. 3 wide receiver in 2025.

Maxx Crosby LV DE
Raiders' Maxx Crosby: Past ankle issue
1d agoCrosby (ankle) was a full participant in Wednesday's practice, Tashan Reed of The Athletic reports.
Crosby missed the final five games of the Raiders' 2024 campaign due to an ankle injury, but his full practice participation Wednesday suggests he's already moved past the issue. The Eastern Michigan product inked a three-year, $106.5 million extension to keep him in Las Vegas in early March after posting 59.5 sacks across six seasons with the team. Now back to full health, Crosby is expected to remain one of the NFL's top defensive playmakers in 2025.
-
Aidan Hutchinson DET DE
Lions' Aidan Hutchinson: Back to full health
1d agoHutchinson (leg) told reporters Thursday that he's fully cleared to return, Eric Woodyard of ESPN.com reports.
Hutchinson was the frontrunner for Defensive Player of the Year before sustaining a season-ending leg injury in the Lions' Week 6 win over the Cowboys in 2024. However, he now appears to be completely past the issue. Over the Michigan product's first three years in the NFL, he appeared in 39 regular-season games and recorded 132 total tackles, including 28.5 sacks, 10 passes defended, with four interceptions, and four forced fumbles. Now back to full health, Hutchinson is expected to continue wreaking havoc on opposing quarterbacks in 2025.

Brian Burns NYG LB
Giants' Brian Burns: Contract restructured
1d agoThe Giants converted $10 million of Burns' base salary into a signing bonus Thursday, Field Yates of ESPN reports.
According to Yates, the Giants signed 2025 third-overall pick Abdul Carter on Thursday and converted part of Burns' salary into a signing bonus to stay under the salary cap. The 2019 first-round pick made an impact in his first year with the Giants, recording 71 total tackles, including 8.5 sacks, and eight passes defended over 17 regular-season contests. He's now expected to be a part of one of the NFL's top pass-rush duos in 2025, starting opposite Carter.

Mark Vientos NYM 3B
Mets' Mark Vientos: Scratched from lineup
3m agoVientos was scratched from the lineup ahead of Friday's game against the Dodgers.
It's unclear why Vientos was pulled from the starting nine, but the Mets should provide some more details shortly. In the meantime, Brett Baty will shift over to third base while Luisangel Acuna fills in at the keystone and bats eighth.

Byron Buxton MIN CF
Twins' Byron Buxton: Ramping up activity
8m agoBuxton (concussion) has begun ramping up his baseball activities and is back to running on solid ground rather than in a pool or on a treadmill, Aaron Gleeman of The Athletic reports.
Buxton and teammate Carlos Correa both landed on the 7-day concussion IL after colliding during a game last week, and while Correa was reinstated from the injured list Friday, Buxton's recovery hasn't been as quick. He remains without a return timeline but appears to be trending in the right direction.

Shohei Ohtani LAD DH
Dodgers' Shohei Ohtani: Set to face hitters Saturday
22m agoOhtani (elbow) will face hitters in a bullpen session Saturday, Sonja Chen of MLB.com reports.
Ohtani also threw some breaking pitches in his lighter mid-week bullpen session Wednesday, Chen added. It's all a major step in his rehab from elbow surgery, and facing hitters this weekend might be the biggest step of them all to this point. The Dodgers don't anticipate Ohtani needing a rehab assignment, and will instead build him up through simulated games. Ohtani's mound debut with the Dodgers remains to be determined.
-
Cody Bellinger NYY LF
Yankees' Cody Bellinger: Getting rest Friday
28m agoBellinger isn't in the lineup for Friday's game against the Rockies.
An 0-for-4 performance Thursday put an end to Bellinger's 15-game hitting streak, and he'll now get a chance to catch his breath while Jasson Dominguez starts in left field Friday against Rockies starter Tanner Gordon.
-
Yordan Alvarez HOU DH
Astros' Yordan Alvarez: Progressing through injury
1h agoAlvarez (hand) hit off a pitching machine in the batting cage and participated in baseball drills on the field Friday, Brian McTaggart of MLB.com reports.
Alvarez has been on the 10-day injured list since May 5 due to right hand inflammation. The recovery time has taken longer than initially hoped and there's no clear timeline for his return, but Alvarez may not need a rehab assignment before being reinstated from the IL. He was slashing .210/.306/.340 with one steal, three home runs and 18 RBI in 121 plate appearances prior to his injury.
-
Jo Adell LAA CF
Angels' Jo Adell: Taking seat Friday
1h agoAdell is not in the lineup for Friday's game against the Marlins, Jeff Fletcher of The Orange County Register reports.
Jorge Soler will make the start in right field, as Logan O'Hoppe is at designated hitter with Travis d'Arnaud behind the plate. Adell is slumping at the plate, slashing .063/.318/.250 over the last seven days.

Isaiah Joe OKC SG
Thunder's Isaiah Joe: Fails to score in Game 2 win
14h agoJoe notched zero points (0-1 FG, 0-1 3Pt), one rebound, one assist and one block over three minutes during Thursday's 118-103 win over the Timberwolves in Game 2 of the Western Conference Finals.
Joe barely featured in the rotation Thursday, failing to score for the third time these playoffs. He has now played fewer than 10 minutes in six of the past seven games as the Thunder tightens its rotation moving deep into the postseason. At this point, he is basically being used as a depth piece, although his offensive upside could still play a role at some point should the situation call for it.
-
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander OKC SG
Thunder's Shai Gilgeous-Alexander: Tables game-high 38 points
15h agoGilgeous-Alexander chipped in 38 points (12-21 FG, 1-2 3Pt, 13-15 FT), three rebounds, eight assists and three steals over 42 minutes during Thursday's 118-103 win over the Timberwolves in Game 2 of the Western Conference Finals.
Fresh off being named this year's Most Valuable Player, Gilgeous-Alexander went to work, dismantling the Timberwolves in Game 2 of the Western Conference Finals. It marks his fifth straight game with at least 30 points, with his last three games being blowout victories. Oklahoma City is now just two wins away from reaching the NBA Finals, an achievement that seems somewhat fitting given its dominant season.
-
Jalen Williams OKC SF
Thunder's Jalen Williams: Double-doubles in Game 2 triumph
15h agoWilliams closed with 26 points (12-20 FG, 2-6 3Pt, 0-1 FT), 10 rebounds, five assists and one steal across 39 minutes during Thursday's 118-103 win over the Timberwolves in Game 2 of the Western Conference Finals.
Williams was at it again, helping guide the Thunder to a relatively comfortable victory in Game 2 of the Western Conference Finals. It continues what has been an impressive postseason run for Williams, mirroring what he did during the regular season. In 12 games over the past month, he has averaged 20.1 points, 6.0 rebounds, 5.6 assists, 1.6 steals and 1.5 three-pointers. The series now shifts to Minnesota, where Oklahoma City will look to inflict more damage on the Timberwolves.
-
Nickeil Alexander-Walker MIN SF
Timberwolves' Nickeil Alexander-Walker: Pops for 17 points in loss
15h agoAlexander-Walker ended with 17 points (5-8 FG, 3-4 3Pt, 4-4 FT), two rebounds and two assists in 25 minutes during Thursday's 118-103 loss to Oklahoma City in Game 2 of the Western Conference Finals.
Alexander-Walker came off the bench for 17 points, one of only three Minnesota players to exceed 15 points. It's been an inconsistent postseason up until this point for the backup guard, with his offensive output ranging from 0 to 20 points. More often than not, he tallies single digits, a trend he will need to change should Minnesota hope to reverse its fortunes.
-
Mike Conley MIN PG
Timberwolves' Mike Conley: Has no impact in Game 2 loss
15h agoConley posted three points (1-6 FG, 1-4 3Pt), three rebounds and three assists over 28 minutes during Thursday's 118-103 loss to Oklahoma City in Game 2 of the Western Conference Finals.
Conley looked out of his depth Thursday, failing to have any tangible impact. He has now scored single digits in all but two playoff appearances, a worrying trend for a team that needs production in a hurry. In 11 games over the past month, Conley has put up modest averages of 6.3 points and 3.7 assists in 24.7 minutes per game. At this point, his lack of upside could be a limiting factor against what is a well-rounded Thunder team.
-
Rudy Gobert MIN C
Timberwolves' Rudy Gobert: Disappearing act continues Thursday
15h agoGobert racked up five points (2-5 FG, 1-2 FT), nine rebounds, one assist and one block across 30 minutes during Thursday's 118-103 loss to the Thunder in Game 2 of the Western Conference Finals.
Gobert struggled mightily, continuing what has been a disappointing postseason. Outside of one strong performance against the Lakers, Gobert has been a non-factor for the Timberwolves, typically scoring single digits while adding modest defensive contributions. Over his past 11 games, he has averaged just 8.5 points, 9.3 rebounds and 1.3 blocks. Now trailing 2-0 in the series, Minnesota will head home for Games 3 and 4, where it will look to regain some momentum.
-
Stuart Skinner EDM G
Oilers' Stuart Skinner: Between pipes for Game 2
4h agoSkinner will patrol the visiting crease for Game 2 in Dallas on Friday, according to Tony Brar of Oilers TV.
Skinner gave up five goals on 27 shots in Game 1 on Wednesday after recording back-to-back shutouts in the final pair of games versus Vegas in the second round. The 26-year-old is 2-4 with a 3.39 GAA and an .872 save percentage across six playoff appearances in 2025. The netminder was 1-2-0 during the regular season versus Dallas, allowing 11 goals on 69 shots. The Stars have generated 2.86 goals per game over 14 playoff contests.
-
Seth Jarvis CAR C
Hurricanes' Seth Jarvis: Ready to play Saturday
5h agoHead coach Rod Brind'Amour said Friday that Jarvis (undisclosed) is fine and should be ready to play in Florida on Saturday for Game 3, Ryan Henkel of The Hockey News reports.
Jarvis left Thursday's game briefly in the third period, but he returned to action before the end of the contest. Jarvis has four goals and 12 points in 12 games during the 2025 Stanley Cup Playoffs.
-
Sean Walker CAR D
Hurricanes' Sean Walker: Questionable for Saturday
5h agoWalker (undisclosed) is questionable for Game 3 in Florida on Saturday, according to Ryan Henkel of The Hockey News.
Walker was injured in Game 2 on Thursday. Head coach Rod Brind'Amour said Friday that Walker was "better than he thought he would be" and is considered iffy for Game 3. Should Walker be unavailable, look for Jalen Chatfield (undisclosed) or Alexander Nikishin to enter the lineup.
-
Sam Reinhart FLA C
Panthers' Sam Reinhart: Status for Game 3 pending
8h agoPer Michael Russo of The Athletic, Reinhart (lower body) will see doctors Friday and his status for Game 3 versus Carolina will be updated Saturday, according to head coach Paul Maurice.
Reinhart left Thursday's tilt in Carolina after taking a hip check from Sebastian Aho in the opening stanza. He played one more shift late in the period and did not return. Reinhart was replaced on the top line by Tomas Nosek, and Nosek could see plenty of time on the top line with Aleksander Barkov and Evan Rodrigues should Reinhart sit out Game 3 in Florida. Reinhart has four goals and seven assists across 14 playoff appearances.
-
Aleksander Barkov FLA C
Panthers' Aleksander Barkov: Lights lamp on power play
17h agoBarkov put up a power-play goal in a 5-0 win over Carolina in Game 2 of the Eastern Conference Finals on Thursday.
Barkov's goal put the kitties up 5-0 in the third. He redirected Aaron Ekblad's wrist shot from the right point past Pyotr Kochetkov. It was his fourth goal and 12th point of the postseason (14 games). That total puts Barkov one point behind a trio of teammates (Carter Verhaeghe, Sam Bennett and Eetu Luostarinen) for the team lead in the postseason.
-
Evan Rodrigues FLA C
Panthers' Evan Rodrigues: Power-play playmaking prowess
17h agoRodrigues had two assists in a 5-0 victory over the Hurricanes on Thursday in Game 2 of the Eastern Conference Finals.
Both came on the power play. Rodrigues has eight assists, including three with the man advantage, and 19 shots in 12 games this postseason. All three of those power-play points have come against the Canes.
