BREAKING FANTASY NEWS
Chicago Bears wide receiver Alshon Jeffery is expected to be active Week 1 after getting limited practice in this week. Despite being sidelined since August 12 with a calf injury, the Chicago Tribune reports "it would be a surprise" if Jeffery does not suit up on Sunday. Head coach John Fox is also optimistic about his chances to play. "I'm staying optimistic about the availability of all our guys," Fox said. "He looked pretty good at what he did. We'll see what that brings [at Saturday's practice,] and then we have a training room set up in our team hotel that night. Really, I don't totally solidify on the inactives until we get to Sunday morning."
It looks as if Jeffery will be good to go. The question now becomes, how healthy is he? It's very difficult to bench a guy you likely drafted in the second round. Assuming he's active, you almost have to start him. However, if you have a really good bench option, you may be better off playing it safe this week. Monitor his status right up to game time at Sunday.
