Stefon Diggs NE WR
Patriots' Stefon Diggs: Practicing without knee brace
2d agoDiggs (ACL) participated in on-field work in uniform and without a brace on his right knee at Day 3 of OTAs on Thursday, Taylor Kyles of CLNSMedia.com reports.
The Patriots' photo release of OTAs reveals Diggs looking healthy and without any apparent hindrances related to his right knee, in which he suffered a torn right ACL on Oct. 27. While the 31-year-old wideout likely still has some hurdles to overcome in his rehab before being cleared for contact, his ability to get in some on-field work at voluntary OTAs lends further optimism to the notion he'll be a full-go for Week 1. Since signing Diggs to a three-year, $69 million deal in free agency, New England added a speedy vertical threat to the wide receiver room in the form of third-round pick Kyle Williams, plus a capable pass catcher in the backfield in second-rounder TreVeyon Henderson. Those additions don't represent huge threats to Diggs' position as the clear top target for second-year quarterback Drake Maye, health permitting, but Henderson and Williams are explosive options that this offense had otherwise been lacking in that regard with incumbent wideouts DeMario Douglas, Kayshon Boutte, Kendrick Bourne, Mack Hollins, Ja'Lynn Polk (shoulder) and Javon Baker.

Sean Murphy-Bunting ARI CB
Cardinals' Sean Murphy-Bunting: Done for season
3d agoMurphy-Bunting (undisclosed) was placed on the reserve/non-football injury list by the Cardinals on Thursday, Theo Mackie of The Arizona Republic reports.
The type of injury was not disclosed by either Murphy-Bunting or the Cardinals, but the nature of the transaction means that it happened away from team facilities and that the cornerback will miss the 2025 season. Murphy-Bunting started 15 games for the Cardinals in 2024, the first year of a three-year free-agent contract he signed the previous March. Arizona has two other experienced corners, Starling Thomas and Garrett Williams, back from last year as well as 2025 second-round pick Will Johnson.

Jermaine Burton CIN WR
Bengals' Jermaine Burton: Impressing at camp
3d agoHead coach Zac Taylor told reporters Wednesday that Burton has "done a good job" this offseason, Chris Roling of USA Today reports.
Burton, a 2024 third-round pick from Alabama, struggled throughout his rookie campaign, catching just four passes for 107 yards and tallying 378 kick-return yards over 14 games. Additionally, the Bengals had concerns about the 23-year-old's character, as he missed a pregame walkthrough and was involved in other incidents during the 2024 season. However, Taylor seems to be impressed with Burton's progression this offseason. If he can continue to impresses Cincinnati's staff this summer, Burton could serve as the team's No. 3 wide receiver in 2025.

Maxx Crosby LV DE
Raiders' Maxx Crosby: Past ankle issue
3d agoCrosby (ankle) was a full participant in Wednesday's practice, Tashan Reed of The Athletic reports.
Crosby missed the final five games of the Raiders' 2024 campaign due to an ankle injury, but his full practice participation Wednesday suggests he's already moved past the issue. The Eastern Michigan product inked a three-year, $106.5 million extension to keep him in Las Vegas in early March after posting 59.5 sacks across six seasons with the team. Now back to full health, Crosby is expected to remain one of the NFL's top defensive playmakers in 2025.
-
Aidan Hutchinson DET DE
Lions' Aidan Hutchinson: Back to full health
3d agoHutchinson (leg) told reporters Thursday that he's fully cleared to return, Eric Woodyard of ESPN.com reports.
Hutchinson was the frontrunner for Defensive Player of the Year before sustaining a season-ending leg injury in the Lions' Week 6 win over the Cowboys in 2024. However, he now appears to be completely past the issue. Over the Michigan product's first three years in the NFL, he appeared in 39 regular-season games and recorded 132 total tackles, including 28.5 sacks, 10 passes defended, with four interceptions, and four forced fumbles. Now back to full health, Hutchinson is expected to continue wreaking havoc on opposing quarterbacks in 2025.

Brian Burns NYG LB
Giants' Brian Burns: Contract restructured
3d agoThe Giants converted $10 million of Burns' base salary into a signing bonus Thursday, Field Yates of ESPN reports.
According to Yates, the Giants signed 2025 third-overall pick Abdul Carter on Thursday and converted part of Burns' salary into a signing bonus to stay under the salary cap. The 2019 first-round pick made an impact in his first year with the Giants, recording 71 total tackles, including 8.5 sacks, and eight passes defended over 17 regular-season contests. He's now expected to be a part of one of the NFL's top pass-rush duos in 2025, starting opposite Carter.

Ronny Henriquez MIA RP
Marlins' Ronny Henriquez: Converts first save
3m agoHenriquez earned the save in Sunday's 3-0 win against the Angels, striking out two in a clean inning.
The 24-year-old right-hander required only 10 pitches to secure the first save of his career. After picking up the win in Saturday's contest against the Angels, Henriquez looks to have entered the picture for high-leverage work in backend of the Miami bullpen along with Anthony Bender, Calvin Faucher and Jesus Tinoco. Henriquez has pitched to a 1.78 ERA, 1.26 WHIP and 35:13 K:BB across 25.1 innings this season.

Justin Verlander SF SP
Giants' Justin Verlander: Set for mound work Tuesday
5m agoGiants manager Bob Melvin said Verlander (pectoral) is on track to throw a bullpen session Tuesday, Justice delos Santos of The San Jose Mercury News reports.
Verlander landed on the injured list Thursday after being diagnosed with a right pectoral strain, but he appears to have a chance at returning to action once the minimum 15 days are up. Melvin confirmed that Verlander resumed playing catch Saturday, and with the right-hander responding well to the workout, he's already been cleared to advance to the next phase of his recovery program. Verlander will likely complete one or two bullpen sessions before getting the green light to face hitters.

Charlie Morton BAL SP
Orioles' Charlie Morton: Slated to start Monday
9m agoMorton is scheduled to start Monday's game against the Cardinals at Camden Yards, Jacob Calvin Meyer of The Baltimore Sun reports.
After the Orioles parted ways with Kyle Gibson last Tuesday, Morton had been expected to slot back into the rotation during the team's series versus Boston over the weekend, but rainouts Thursday and Friday resulted in some reshuffling with the pitching schedule. Morton is now set to take the hill Monday on eight days' rest and will be making his seventh start of the season. The veteran right-hander is still holding down a 7.68 ERA and 1.76 WHIP on the season, but he's been much sharper over his most recent three relief appearances. In those outings, Morton struck out 12 batters over 9.2 innings while allowing two earned runs on four hits and two walks.
-
Kyle Hendricks LAA SP
Angels' Kyle Hendricks: Quality start in loss
11m agoHendricks (2-6) took the loss Sunday against Miami. He conceded three runs on seven hits and no walks over six innings with five strikeouts.
After yielding a home run across each of his previous seven starts, Hendricks kept the ball in the yard during this 87-pitch outing but did allow four doubles. Despite allowing three or more runs for the fourth consecutive appearance, the 35-year-old managed to notch his fourth quality start of the season. Hendricks now sports a 5.23 ERA, 1.26 WHIP and 33:16 K:BB across 53.1 innings. He is scheduled to make his next start on the road at Cleveland next weekend.

Matt Wallner MIN RF
Twins' Matt Wallner: Continuing rehab to begin week
16m agoWallner (hamstring) is slated to continue his rehab assignment with Triple-A St. Paul to begin the upcoming week, rather than joining the Twins for the start of their 10-game road trip that begins Monday, Aaron Gleeman of The Athletic reports.
The Twins aren't ruling out activating Wallner from the 10-day injured list at some point during the trip, but he'll likely need to play full games in the outfield on consecutive days at Triple-A St. Paul before he rejoins the big club. Wallner, who has been on the shelf since April 17 with a left hamstring strain, has thus far appeared in three games for St. Paul. He's made two starts in right field and one as a designated hitter while going a collective 5-for-12 with two home runs, a double and a walk.
-
Edward Cabrera MIA SP
Marlins' Edward Cabrera: Electric in win
21m agoCabrera (1-1) earned the win Sunday against the Angels, allowing three hits and two walks over 5.2 scoreless innings. He struck out 10.
The 27-year-old generated 18 whiffs en route to a season-high 10 punchouts, reaching double-digit Ks for the first time since April 15, 2024. Cabrera has been especially sharp over his last four appearances, as he's limited free passes while working to a 2.61 ERA, 1.12 WHIP and 23:5 K:BB across 20.2 innings. Through 40 total innings, the Miami right-hander sports a 4.72 ERA, 1.40 WHIP and 43:16 K:BB. Cabrera is currently slated to make his next start against the Giants at home next weekend.

Aaron Nesmith IND SF
Pacers' Aaron Nesmith: Heads to locker room Sunday
4m agoNesmith went back to the locker room during the third quarter of Sunday's Game 3 against the Knicks due to an apparent ankle injury, Tony East of WTHR Channel 13 Indianapolis reports.
Nesmith went down after appearing to roll his ankle while attempting a pass along the baseline. If he is unable to return, Obi Toppin and Ben Sheppard will likely pick up extra minutes.
-
Josh Hart NY SF
Knicks' Josh Hart: Coming off bench in Game 3
2h agoHart will not start in Game 3 of the Eastern Conference Finals against the Pacers on Sunday, Stefan Bondy of The New York Post reports.
Hart will come off the bench for the first time this season during Game 3 and will be replaced in the starting lineup by Mitchell Robinson. Hart saw just 28 minutes in Game 2 after playing 44 minutes in Game 1, as the team went to Robinson down the stretch. Although Hart still figures to see an ample role, it is highly unlikely he reaches his season average of 37.6 minutes per contest.
-
Mitchell Robinson NY C
Knicks' Mitchell Robinson: Starting Game 3
2h agoRobinson will start Game 3 of the Eastern Conference Finals against the Pacers on Sunday, Stefan Bondy of The New York Post reports.
The Knicks will change things up for Game 3, with Robinson replacing Josh Hart in the starting lineup. Robinson has provided great minutes for New York throughout the series, averaging 4.0 points and 8.5 rebounds in 25.0 minutes per game through two contests. However, most of his impact, such as creating extra possessions on offense and disrupting shots on the other end, has not shown up in the stat sheet. Robinson should see ample run in Game 3, but it remains to be seen just how much his role will change, considering he played a significant 29 minutes in Game 2.

Nickeil Alexander-Walker MIN SF
Timberwolves' Nickeil Alexander-Walker: Chips in 12 points in blowout win
11h agoAlexander-Walker recorded 12 points (5-9 FG, 2-4 3Pt, 0-1 FT), three rebounds and two assists in 18 minutes during Saturday's 143-101 victory over the Thunder in Game 3 of the Western Conference Finals.
Alexander-Walker scored in double figures for the second straight game during Saturday's blowout win. Through three Western Conference Finals appearances, the 26-year-old has averaged 12.3 points, 2.3 rebounds, 2.3 three-pointers and 1.3 assists while shooting 41.2 percent from beyond the arc in 23.7 minutes per game.
-
Leonard Miller MIN SF
Timberwolves' Leonard Miller: Pours in career-high 11 points
11h agoMiller amassed 11 points (5-6 FG, 1-1 3Pt) and three rebounds over eight minutes during Saturday's 143-101 win over Oklahoma City in Game 3 of the Western Conference Finals.
Miller made just his third appearance of the playoffs in the blowout win, recording a career-high mark in points during his limited run. However, the 21-year-old forward isn't expected to receive minutes outside of garbage time.
-
Naz Reid MIN C
Timberwolves' Naz Reid: Efficient in victory
11h agoReid closed Saturday's 143-101 win over the Thunder in Game 3 of the Western Conference Finals with 10 points (4-6 FG, 2-3 3Pt), eight rebounds, two assists and one block over 19 minutes.
Reid delivered an efficient performance after shooting just 4-for-19 in the club's first two games of the Western Conference Finals. The big man also shot an abysmal 0-for-12 from beyond the arc in that two-game span. Over three Western Conference Finals appearances, Reid has averaged 8.0 points, 8.0 rebounds, 2.0 assists and 1.3 blocks across 25.0 minutes per contest.

Connor Brown EDM C
Oilers' Connor Brown: Hurt in Game 3
2h agoBrown suffered an undisclosed injury in Sunday's 6-1 win over Dallas in Game 3, and head coach Kris Knoblauch did not have an update on the winger's status after the contest.
Brown went minus-1 in 8:46 of ice time and left the game after being hit by Alex Petrovic in the middle frame. Knoblauch relayed that the Oilers will "have some information" on Brown's status Monday morning. The 31-year-old Brown should be considered day-to-day ahead of Game 4 on Tuesday in Edmonton.

Lian Bichsel DAL D
Stars' Lian Bichsel: Earns first career playoff point
3h agoBichsel logged an assist, three shots on goal, five hits and two PIM in Sunday's 6-1 loss to the Oilers in Game 3.
Bichsel was originally credited with the Stars' goal, but he had to settle for the primary helper on a Jason Robertson tally after a scoring update. The 21-year-old Bichsel has played every game this postseason, but this was his first point in 16 appearances. He's added 12 shots on net, 66 hits, seven blocked shots, 28 PIM and a plus-1 rating while filling a third-pairing role. While the results are starting to get away from the Stars, Bichsel continues to gain valuable experience early in his career, and he could be poised to take on a larger role as a shutdown defenseman in 2025-26.
-
Mikko Rantanen DAL RW
Stars' Mikko Rantanen: Offers assist in loss
3h agoRantanen posted an assist, two shots on goal and two hits in Sunday's 6-1 loss to the Oilers in Game 3.
Rantanen's goal drought reached six games after this loss, and he has just three assists with 13 shots on net in that span. The winger is up to 21 points (nine goals, 12 helpers) in 16 playoff contests, but he hasn't been able to keep pace in the postseason scoring race, as Connor McDavid (22 points) has passed Rantanen while Leon Draisaitl (21 points) is tied for second place. Rantanen has added 45 shots on net, 13 hits, 20 blocked shots and an even plus-minus rating.
-
Jason Robertson DAL LW
Stars' Jason Robertson: Nets lone goal in loss
3h agoRobertson scored a goal on five shots in Sunday's 6-1 loss to the Oilers in Game 3.
Robertson got a piece of a Lian Bichsel shot to score late in the second period, though Connor McDavid answered for the Oilers prior to the intermission. While Robertson has two points over three games in the Western Conference Finals, the Stars' offense has generally been too quiet. This was his first goal since April 12 versus Utah. Robertson has three points, a minus-5 rating, 15 shots on net, 12 hits and five blocked shots over nine playoff contests.
-
Jake Oettinger DAL G
Stars' Jake Oettinger: Struggles again Sunday
3h agoOettinger stopped 18 of 24 shots in Sunday's 6-1 loss to the Oilers in Game 3.
Oettinger took consecutive losses for the first time this postseason, and the six goals allowed were the most he's given up in any game in these playoffs. He's allowed 12 goals on 76 shots over three games against the Oilers, who look to have figured something out over the last two contests. It's like deja vu in this Western Conference Finals rematch from last year, and it'll likely be Oettinger's duty to put in a better performance in Game 4 to keep the Stars away from the brink of elimination.
-
Brett Kulak EDM D
Oilers' Brett Kulak: Supplies assist Sunday
3h agoKulak notched an assist, three hits, three blocked shots and a plus-2 rating in Sunday's 6-1 win over the Stars in Game 3.
Kulak has turned things around with a goal and an assist over the last two contests to follow a six-game slump. The 31-year-old blueliner had the secondary assist on Evan Bouchard's tally to open the scoring in this game. Kulak is now at four points, 15 shots on net, 13 hits, 26 blocked shots and a plus-7 rating over 14 playoff outings. He continues to be effective in a shutdown role in the Oilers' top four.
