Shane Bieber CLE SP
Guardians' Shane Bieber: Sharp in rehab outing
11m agoBieber (elbow) struck out five and allowed one hit and one walk over two scoreless innings Tuesday in a rehab start with the Guardians' rookie-level Arizona Complex League affiliate.
Bieber took the mound for his first rehab start since May 31, when he made a 2.1-inning appearance in the ACL before being pulled off his assignment when he experienced soreness in his surgically repaired right elbow. The setback was always viewed as a minor one, and Bieber's excellent showing Tuesday in his return to the hill seemingly alleviates any concern the Guardians might have about his elbow moving forward. Bieber will likely need to complete at least three more rehab starts in the minors before the Guardians clear him to return from the 60-day injured list, perhaps at some point in early or mid-August.
-
Blake Snell LAD SP
Dodgers' Blake Snell: Piles up seven Ks in rehab start
17m agoSnell (shoulder) struck out seven and allowed one earned run on three hits and zero walks over three innings in a rehab start Tuesday in the rookie-level Arizona Complex League.
Because the Florida and Arizona Complex Leagues are the only minor-league affiliates in session during the All-Star break, Snell moved down to rookie ball for his second rehab outing after he previously made a two-inning start with Single-A Rancho Cucamonga last Thursday. The veteran southpaw tacked on an inning to his workload Tuesday and settled into a groove toward the end of his start, retiring nine of the final 10 batters he faced. Snell will likely move up to a higher-level affiliate for his third rehab outing, and he may require just one more start in the minors after that before making his return from the 60-day injured list.

Luis Campusano SD DH
Padres' Luis Campusano: Sent back to minors
27m agoThe Padres optioned Campusano to Triple-A El Paso on Tuesday.
Campusano was recalled ahead of the Padres' final game before the All-Star break but will head back to the minors before the start of the second half. The catcher is still looking for his first base knock this season with the big club, having gone 0-for-21 at the plate. The Padres will announce a corresponding move prior to Friday's game versus the Nationals.

Taijuan Walker PHI RP
Phillies' Taijuan Walker: Awarded another start
28m agoWalker is slated to make his next start Saturday against the Angels in Philadelphia, Matt Gelb of The Athletic reports.
After the Phillies optioned Mick Abel to Triple-A Lehigh Valley on July 4, Walker stepped in last week to fill the vacant rotation spot. Though he had made each of his previous nine appearances out of the bullpen, Walker came through with a strong showing July 8 in San Francisco, limiting the Giants to one run on two hits and two walks over four innings. Walker will likely have a longer leash during Saturday's contest, and he should be able to maintain a spot in the rotation until Aaron Nola (ankle/rib) is ready to return from the 60-day injured list around early or mid-August.
-
Grant Holman ATH RP
Athletics' Grant Holman: Shifted to 60-day injured list
31m agoThe Athletics transferred Holman (shoulder) to the 60-day injured list Tuesday.
The transaction frees up a spot on the Athletics' 40-man roster. Holman has already missed nearly a month of action with right rotator cuff tendinitis and now will not be eligible for activation until mid-August.

Eugenio Suarez ARI 3B
Diamondbacks' Eugenio Suarez: X-rays negative after HBP
10h agoX-rays on Suarez's left hand came back negative after he was hit by a pitch during the All-Star Game, Bob Nightengale of USA Today reports.
After taking a 96-mph fastball off his hand in the eighth inning, Suarez remained in the game for the remainder of regulation, but he wasn't able to participate as planned in the extra-inning swing-off. It doesn't seem like he suffered any structural damage due to the incident, however, and he'll now have a couple of days off to recover before the second half kicks off Friday. The 33-year-old third baseman slashed .250/.320/.569 with 31 homers before the break and is a candidate to be traded over the next couple of weeks before the deadline.

The Maryland product has now recorded a double-double in all three of his Summer League appearances, averaging 14.0 points, 11.0 rebounds, 2.3 assists and 1.0 blocks across 27.3 minutes per game.
-
Micah Peavy NO SG
Pelicans' Micah Peavy: Tallies three swipes in SL loss
9h agoPeavy (ankle) contributed two points (1-4 FG, 0-1 3Pt), three steals and two rebounds across 22 minutes in Tuesday's 93-87 Summer League loss to the Trail Blazers.
Peavy returned to game action after missing Saturday's loss to the Lakers due to an ankle injury, though he was quiet on the offensive end Tuesday. However, the 2025 second-round pick racked up a game-high-tying mark in steals and has recorded multiple swipes in each of his two Summer League appearances. Peavy spent his final collegiate season at Georgetown, averaging 17.2 points, 5.8 rebounds, 3.6 assists and 2.3 steals across 37.0 minutes per game in 32 outings.
-

Rowe was productive against Memphis, posting team highs in points and rebounds. The 28-year-old forward also tied the team-best marks in steals and blocks, finishing as the only player to tally multiple swipes and multiple swats. He has appeared in two Las Vegas Summer League games so far, scoring in double figures in both outings.

Cryer returned to game action after missing the team's first two Las Vegas Summer League outings due to undisclosed reasons. The 23-year-old point guard had a quiet night in the scoring column but tied the team-high mark in assists. Cryer spent the final two seasons of his collegiate career at Houston, averaging 15.7 points, 2.4 assists and 2.0 rebounds while shooting 42.4 percent from downtown in 32.7 minutes per game over 40 outings in 2024-25.

Domenick Fensore CAR D
Hurricanes' Domenick Fensore: Secures two-way deal
15m agoFensore signed a one-year, two-way contract with Carolina on Wednesday.
Fensore appeared in just two NHL games last year in which he generated five shots, three hits and two PIM while being held off the scoresheet. The Boston University product was significantly more productive in the minors with nine goals and 23 helpers in 67 regular-season tilts with AHL Chicago. While the 2019 third-round pick could see a little more action with the Canes this year, he figures once again to spend the bulk of his minutes in the minors.
-
Jan Mysak ANA C
Ducks' Jan Mysak: Signs two-way deal
16h agoMysak signed a one-year, two-way contract with Anaheim on Tuesday.
Mysak registered 18 goals and 42 points in 68 regular-season appearances with AHL San Diego in 2024-25. The 23-year-old forward hasn't made his NHL debut yet and could spend most of the 2025-26 campaign in the minors.
-

-

Blackhawks' Anton Frondell: Pens entry-level pact
18h agoFrondell signed a three-year, entry-level contract with Chicago on Tuesday.
Frondell notched 11 goals and 25 points across 29 regular-season outings with Djurgardens IF of Sweden's HockeyAllsvenskan in 2024-25. He added three tallies and seven points in 16 qualification games to get the club back into the SHL. He will likely remain in Sweden for at least one more campaign. Chicago chose the 18-year-old forward with the No. 3 overall pick in the 2025 NHL Entry Draft.
-
Michael Carcone UTA LW
Mammoth's Michael Carcone: Back with Utah
22h agoCarcone inked a one-year contract with Utah on Tuesday, Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet reports.
Carcone appeared in 53 games last campaign, notching seven goals, 19 points, 75 shots on net and a minus-7 rating. The Ontario native was a periodic healthy scratch in 2024-25, so he'll probably have to contend with Liam O'Brien for a spot in the bottom six at times this coming season.
-
John Farinacci BOS C
Bruins' John Farinacci: Inks one-year deal
23h agoFarinacci agreed to terms on a one-year, two-way contract with the Bruins on Tuesday, according to Joe Haggerty of Boston Sports Journal.
Farinacci will come with a $775,000 annual cap hit whenever he's on the NHL roster during the upcoming campaign. He provided 10 goals, 38 points and a plus-9 rating over 58 regular-season outings with AHL Providence in 2024-25. The 24-year-old also made his NHL debut in April, scoring his first career goal on just one shot in his lone appearance with Boston. The Bruins are relatively thin up the middle, so Farinacci will look to earn a roster spot out of training camp.
