Sam Martin CAR P
Panthers' Sam Martin: Goes on NFI list
25m agoMartin (hamstring) was placed on the active/non-football injury list Monday, Darin Gantt of the Panthers' official site reports.
Martin's hamstring injury isn't expected to sideline him for long, per Mike Kaye of The Charlotte Observer. Martin can be activated at any point in training camp and is expected to serve as Carolina's punter in 2025.

Alex Hale GB K
Alex Hale: Let go by Packers
30m agoHale (eye) was cut by the Packers on Monday.
Hale spent the 2024 season on Green Bay's practice squad after joining the team as part of the NFL's International Player Pathway Program. The kicker had been on the active/non-football injury list prior to being released after he injured his eye while working out. Hale will be sidelined for several weeks, according to Tom Silverstein of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel.

Dan Chisena CAR WR
Panthers' Dan Chisena: Starting training camp on PUP list
44m agoChisena (calf) was placed on the active/PUP list Monday, Darin Gantt of the Panthers' official site reports.
Chisena can be activated at any time during training camp. He has spent most of his NFL career playing special teams, though the 28-year-old Chisena registered the first three NFL catches of his career with the Panthers last season.

Shavon Revel Jr. DAL CB
Cowboys' Shavon Revel: Starting training camp on NFI list
1h agoRevel (knee) was placed on the active/non-football injury list Monday, Calvin Watkins of the Dallas Morning News reports.
Revel dropped to 76th overall in the 2025 NFL Draft due to a torn ACL which he suffered in September. His camp has been optimistic about gaining clearance at some point during training camp, but Revel isn't quite ready to begin football activities at the start of training camp. It remains to be seen whether he'll be healthy in time to play Week 1 against the Eagles on Sept. 4.

Tommy Tremble CAR TE
Panthers' Tommy Tremble: Opens camp on active/PUP
1h agoThe Panthers placed Tremble (back) on the active/PUP list Monday.
Tremble underwent a back procedure in May and will continue to rehab as training camp opens. He's expected to be ready ahead of Week 1. With Tremble idle to begin camp, second-year TE Ja'Tavion Sanders and fifth-round rookie Mitchell Evans will benefit from extra reps. While Tremble is expected to play a substantial role on offense this season, he's mainly used as a blocker. Sanders has late-round fantasy appeal as a catch-first, playmaking tight end.
-
Josh Butler DAL DB
Cowboys' Josh Butler: Starting training camp on PUP list
1h agoButler (knee) was placed on the active/PUP list Monday, Calvin Watkins of the Dallas Morning News reports.
Butler's working his way back after tearing his ACL in December. Dallas is shorthanded at cornerback to begin training camp, as Trevon Diggs (knee), Shavon Revel (knee), Caelen Carson (shoulder) and Kemon Hall (hamstring) are also recovering from injuries.

Grayson Rodriguez BAL SP
Orioles' Grayson Rodriguez: Undergoing imaging on elbow
3m agoRodriguez (lat) is undergoing imaging on his right elbow after feeling discomfort earlier this month, Matt Weyrich of The Baltimore Sun reports.
Rodriguez has been sidelined all season, first with an elbow problem and then with a right lat issue. It now appears that the elbow is the bigger concern, although more should be known once the test results are in. Rodriguez will remain shut down until late this week, at minimum. He has not pitched in a game setting since spring training, so it will take him a long time to be major-league ready even if he progresses without more setbacks from here on out.
-
Jacob Stallings BAL C
Orioles' Jacob Stallings: Idle for second straight day
7m agoStallings is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Guardians.
Since the second week of July, Stallings had been seeing the bulk of the starts behind the plate for the Orioles, but he'll give way to Alex Jackson for the second day in a row. Baltimore may just be rewarding Jackson with another start after he provided a solo home run in Sunday's 5-3 win over the Rays.
-
Troy Melton DET SP
Tigers' Troy Melton: Making MLB debut Wednesday
12m agoThe Tigers plan to call up Melton from Triple-A Toledo to start Wednesday's game against the Pirates at PNC Park, Chris McCosky of The Detroit News reports.
The upcoming move to the big leagues will represent the third stop of the season for the 25-year-old righty, who has produced a 2.99 ERA, 1.23 WHIP and 101:20 K:BB over 75.1 innings between Toledo and Double-A Erie. Melton won't be guaranteed any starts beyond Wednesday, but a strong showing against a reeling Pirates squad could might be enough for him to stick around as the fifth member of the rotation over Keider Montero and Sawyer Gipson-Long (neck).
-
Pete Crow-Armstrong CHC CF
Cubs' Pete Crow-Armstrong: Exiting starting nine
14m agoCrow-Armstrong is not in the lineup for Monday's game versus the Royals.
It's the first day off since June 11 for Crow-Armstrong, who went 5-for-12 with a homer and three doubles in the weekend series against the Red Sox. Seiya Suzuki is making his first career start in center field for the Cubs on Monday.
-
Alejandro Osuna TEX LF
Rangers' Alejandro Osuna: Heads back to Triple-A
26m agoThe Rangers optioned Osuna to Triple-A Round Rock on Monday.
Osuna had started in just three of the Rangers' last 12 games, and since he's still a prospect of some repute, the organization likely sent him back to Round Rock so that he can play on an everyday basis. After receiving his first big-league call-up May 25, the 23-year-old outfielder slashed .164/.293/.224 with one home run and three stolen bases across 82 plate appearances for Texas.
-
Justin Foscue TEX 1B
Rangers' Justin Foscue: Dispatched to minors
27m agoThe Rangers optioned Foscue to Triple-A Round Rock on Monday.
Foscue made one start during his brief stint in the majors and will now head back to Round Rock. He is just 3-for-51 at the plate during his time with the big club dating back to the start of last season.
-
Trey Jemison LAL C
Trey Jemison: Waived by LAL on Monday
10m agoThe Lakers waived Jemison on Monday, Brett Siegel of ClutchPoints.com reports.
Jemison latched on with the Lakers on a two-way pact after being waived by the Pelicans in January, though he'll now have to explore other opportunities. The 25-year-old center appeared in 38 regular-season games between Los Angeles and New Orleans in the 2024-25 campaign, during which he averaged 2.5 points and 2.8 rebounds across 10.3 minutes per game.
-
Jaylen Clark MIN SG
Timberwolves' Jaylen Clark: Plays disruptive defensive in SL
41m agoClark averaged 8.2 points, 2.0 rebounds and 2.5 assists in 28.1 minutes per game over four Las Vegas Summer League appearances.
Clark was part of the first unit for all of his outings, and he notably swiped 2.5 steals per contest during the exhibition period as well. The 23-year-old swingman opened his rookie season with the G League in 2024-25, but he's set to begin the 2025-26 campaign as a reserve for the Timberwolves. With Nickeil Alexander-Walker now out of the picture, Clark will likely spend training camp battling with Terrence Shannon for the backup role at small forward behind Jaden McDaniels.
-
Joan Beringer MIN C
Timberwolves' Joan Beringer: Flashes shot-blocking upside in SL
1h agoBeringer averaged 6.8 points, 6.5 rebounds and 1.5 assists in 23.1 minutes per game over four Las Vegas Summer League appearances.
Beringer started each of his outings at center and flashed plenty of rim-protecting ability, also swatting 2.5 shots per contest during the exhibition action. The Timberwolves spent the No. 17 overall pick in the 2025 NBA Draft to land Beringer, but the 18-year-old rookie big man profiles as a very raw prospect. As long as both Rudy Gobert and Naz Reid are healthy, Beringer could struggle to carve out a steady role off the bench in 2025-26.
-
Doug McDermott SAC SF
Kings' Doug McDermott: Plans to re-sign with Sacramento
2h agoMcDermott intends to sign a one-year, $3.6 million contract with the Kings, Shams Charania of ESPN reports.
McDermott is set to return to Sacramento for his second season, and he'll help offer the team a veteran presence off the bench. That said, he's unlikely to see meaningful playing time in the Kings' frontcourt as long as DeMar DeRozan and Keegan Murray are healthy in 2025-26. Last year, McDermott logged a mere 8.1 minutes per game across 42 regular-season outings but did shoot a career-high 43.6 percent from three-point range during his limited action.
-
Orlando Robinson ORL C
Magic's Orlando Robinson: Inks two-way deal with Orlando
2h agoThe Magic have signed Robinson to a two-way contract Monday, Jason Beede of the Orlando Sentinel reports.
Robinson spent the 2024-25 campaign with the Kings and Raptors, playing in 44 regular-season games. He averaged 6.9 points, 5.0 rebounds and 1.8 assists across 17.5 minutes per game, shooting 44.4 percent from the field. Toronto waived the Fresno State product on April 10. He'll have a chance at a fresh start with his new squad.
-
Christian Koloko LAL C
Lakers' Christian Koloko: To sign two-way deal with LAL
3h agoThe Lakers plan to sign Koloko to a two-way contract, Shams Charania of ESPN reports.
Koloko made appearances in 37 regular-season games during the 2024-25 campaign. However, the Arizona product didn't see the floor much, averaging 2.4 points and 2.5 rebounds across 9.2 minutes per contest. He'll likely remain in a similar role moving forward, with Deandre Ayton and Jaxson Hayes likely to see the bulk of the minutes at the center position.
-
Anthony Mantha CGY RW
Penguins' Anthony Mantha: Set for 2025-26 campaign
3h agoMantha (knee) expects to be 100 percent for the start of training camp, Matt Vensel of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports Monday.
Mantha was limited to just 13 games for the Flames last season before his ACL injury ended his campaign early. Prior to getting hurt, the 30-year-old winger was putting up solid offensive numbers with four goals and three helpers. Barring any more offseason moves by the Penguins, Mantha should head into the 2025-26 campaign on the second line with Evgeni Malkin and is certainly capable of reaching the 20-goal threshold in that role -- though if Mantha does produce that well, general manager Kyle Dubas will almost certainly trade him at the deadline.
-
Xavier Bourgault OTT RW
Senators' Xavier Bourgault: Re-signs with Sens
3d agoBourgault has signed a one-year, two-way contract to remain with the Senators, PuckPedia reports.
Bourgault has yet to make an appearance in the NHL in his career, but the 22-year-old has done well at the AHL level. Last season, he finished with 12 goals and 14 assists in 61 games with AHL Belleville, his first full season in the Senators organization after being traded from Edmonton last offseason. Bourgault will likely remain in the AHL to start next season, but he should be in the mix for a call-up should the situation call for one.

Gabriel Vilardi WPG C
Jets' Gabriel Vilardi: Signs big contract
3d agoVilardi signed a six-year, $45 million contract with the Jets on Friday, per Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet.
Vilardi was a restricted free agent who would have gone to arbitration if he hadn't agreed to terms with Winnipeg. The 25-year-old recorded 27 goals and 61 points in 71 regular-season outings with the Jets in 2024-25. It was his third straight 20-plus goal season, but he shattered his previous career high of 41 points, which was set in 2022-23. His new cap hit suggests Winnipeg anticipates his 2024-25 production being his new normal. He's projected to serve on Winnipeg's top line and first power-play unit in the upcoming campaign, and he should maintain that role for years to come.
-
Drew Helleson ANA D
Ducks' Drew Helleson: Pens two-year deal
3d agoHelleson signed a two-year, $2.2 million contract with Anaheim on Friday.
Helleson established himself on the Anaheim blue line in 2024-25, playing 56 regular-season games. The 24-year-old, who was selected in the second round, 47th overall, in 2019 by Colorado, generated four goals, nine assists, 47 PIM, 99 hits and 73 blocked shots. He is slated to play on the third unit, alongside Olen Zellweger.
-
Dakota Joshua TOR C
Maple Leafs' Dakota Joshua: Acquired for pick
4d agoJoshua was brought in by the Leafs on Thursday from the Canucks in exchange for a 2028 fourth-round pick.
Joshua is coming off a disappointing 2024-25 campaign with Vancouver in which he failed to reach the 20-point threshold for the first time since 2021-22 -- a problem that was in no small part caused by his 57 regular-season appearances. If he can stay healthy this season, Joshua should be capable of locking down a middle-six role with the Leafs, though he's far from a lock to avoid stints on the fourth line or in the press box.
-
Lukas Dostal ANA G
Ducks' Lukas Dostal: Secures long-term extension
4d agoDostal signed a five-year, $32.5 million contract extension with Anaheim on Thursday, Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet reports.
Dostal took over as the No. 1 option in Anaheim last season, a role that was further cemented when the Ducks shipped John Gibson off to Detroit. For his part, the 25-year-old Dostal posted a 23-23-7 record in 54 games to go with a 3.10 GAA, .903 save percentage and one shutout. While Petr Mrazek figures to serve as the backup, it will be Dostal's crease heading into 2025-26.
