Malachi Corley NYJ WR
Jets' Malachi Corley: Not assured roster spot?
10h agoCorley (undisclosed), who missed mandatory minicamp while continuing to manage an undisclosed injury sustained during OTAs, isn't a lock to make the Jets' regular-season roster, Rich Cimini of ESPN reports.
Corley played just 83 offensive snaps (and eight snaps on special teams) across his nine regular-season appearances as a rookie, despite New York investing third-round draft capital by selecting him 65th overall. His most memorable moment in Year 1 came in the form of a fumble at the goal line during Week 9 that turned what would have been his first career touchdown into a touchback. New offensive coordinator Tanner Engstrand acknowledged that the time Corley has missed during early installs means he's "going to have to find a way to catch himself up." Now fighting an uphill battle, it will be crucial for Corley to get healthy for Day 1 of training camp July 23. The Jets have a relatively open competition at wide receiver behind No. 1 option Garrett Wilson, with Josh Reynolds, Allen Lazard, Arian Smith, Tyler Johnson and Xavier Gipson representing Corley's competition for a spot on the 53-man roster.

Kevin Foelsch KC TE
Kevin Foelsch: Let go by KC
1d agoThe Chiefs waived Foelsch on Friday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.
Foelsch signed with the Chiefs on June 11, but his tenure with the club didn't last long. Kansas City signed fellow tight end Geor'quarius Spivey on Thursday, which precipitated Foelsch's removal from the roster. Foelsch has spent time with the Panthers, Jets and Eagles but has yet to see action in a regular-season NFL game.

Jalen Ramsey MIA CB
Dolphins' Jalen Ramsey: Trade expected before training camp
1d agoThe Dolphins are expected to finalize a trade dealing Ramsey before training camp, and the cornerback's preferred destination would be a West Coast team such as the Rams or Chargers, Dante Collinelli of SI.com reports.
Ramsey and Miami appear united in a mutual desire to part ways, and it's unsurprising that interested teams would want the veteran cornerback present for the start of training camp. Both teams in Los Angeles would benefit from adding a proven starting boundary corner such as Ramsey, though Rams coach Sean McVay said Wednesday that "there would be some obstacles that are real that are in the place of maybe preventing that from occurring," though he said the team is "always open-minded to onboarding and acquiring quality players." The Steelers have also reportedly emerged as an interested party among the Dolphins' trade talks.

Chigoziem Okonkwo TEN TE
Titans' Chig Okonkwo: Displaying chemistry with Ward
1d agoOkonkwo caught the most passes of any player during Tennessee's five open practices of OTAs and mandatory minicamp, and he already appears to have developed a rapport with rookie quarterback Cam Ward, Jim Wyatt of the team's official site reports.
Okonkwo's three seasons in the league thus far have been similar, as he's now started slow, finished strong, played all 17 regular-season games and floated around the 500-yard range each year since joining the Titans in the fourth round of the 2022 NFL Draft. Tennessee added TE Gunnar Helm in the fourth round of the 2025 NFL Draft, but even with more competition for snaps there's reason for optimism that improved quarterback play from Ward, the No. 1 overall pick, will pave the way for Okonkwo's production to finally take a step forward. The 6-foot-3, 238-pound tight end lacks prototypical size but boasts rare speed and YAC ability for his position. Tennessee doesn't have an entrenched No. 2 option in the passing game behind top wideout Calvin Ridley, as Tyler Lockett, Treylon Burks (ACL) and Van Jefferson plus a pair of rookie fourth-rounders in Chimere Dikeand Elic Ayomanor close out the wide receiver room. If he continues building momentum during training camp, it's not inconceivable that Okonkwo could secure that role.

Xazavian Valladay NO RB
Xazavian Valladay: Cut loose by Saints
1d agoNew Orleans waived Valladay on Friday, Mike Garafolo of NFL Network reports.
Valladay hasn't logged a regular-season appearance since he suited up for one game with the Jets in 2023, playing no snaps on offense and 12 snaps on special teams. He spent time on New York's and New Orleans' practice squads last season and will now look for a new landing spot in the league.

Tyjae Spears TEN RB
Titans' Tyjae Spears: Motivated for Year 3
1d agoTitans coach Brian Callahan said during mandatory minicamp that Spears has "had an unbelievable offseason" and that he's "really excited to see what he can bring to us this year because he's been in a great place," Jim Wyatt of the team's official site reports.
Spears has been a full participant at offseason activities after battling ankle and hamstring injuries in 2024, in addition to two concussions, the latter of which forced him to sit out Week 18. The 2023 third-round pick wrapped 2024 with just 312 yards and four touchdowns on 84 carries across 12 regular-season appearances, plus 31 catches for 226 yards and another score. Spears said he's motivated to "be as consistent as I can be" in 2025 and focusing on "doing more things toward being a better teammate." At full health, it wouldn't be inaccurate to call Spears one of the league's most elusive runners, so as long as he's able to stay on the field, he'll have a path to emerge as a meaningful playmaker alongside Tony Pollard. Callahan said in May that his plan for 2025 is to deploy a more even backfield split between Pollard and Spears that allows the two to "play a little more evenly," and the team seems a strong candidate to build its offense around the ground game in Cam Ward's rookie season.

Joe Ross PHI RP
Phillies' Joe Ross: Continues to struggle in June
7m agoRoss gave up three runs on four hits and no walks in 2.2 innings of relief during Saturday's 11-4 defeat to the Mets. He struck out one.
Rooke right-hander Mick Abel was able to give the Phillies only three innings, so Ross was brought on to provide some length. Saturday was Ross' second-longest outing of the season, but he's limped to an 8.00 ERA and 6:6 K:BB across nine innings in the month of June. The 32-year-old right-hander has made just one start this year and has no holds or saves, so his pathway to fantasy relevance remains cloudy as a multi-inning middle reliever.
-
Francisco Lindor NYM SS
Mets' Francisco Lindor: Homer, three RBI in win
20m agoLindor went 2-for-5 with a home run, a double and three RBI in Saturday's 11-4 win over the Phillies.
Lindor smacked a solo home run in the third inning and narrowly missed another on a two-run double in the sixth. It was a much-needed breakout for the shortstop, who had been mired in an 0-for-18 slump over his previous five games. For the season, he's slashing .267/.340/.463 with 15 homers, 41 RBI, 48 runs scored and 13 steals across 341 plate appearances.
-
Casey Legumina SEA RP
Mariners' Casey Legumina: Settling in during June
23m agoLegumina recorded the final two outs in Saturday's 10-7 loss to the Cubs, allowing no baserunners and fanning one.
June has been a productive month for Legumina, who now owns a 2.08 ERA and 11:3 K:BB over his last 8.2 innings. It's a much-needed rebound after he gave up a season-high six runs in his final outing of May, and Legumina should continue working primarily as a middle reliever and in low-leverage situations while also seeing occasional high-leverage work when needed.
-
Brandon Nimmo NYM LF
Mets' Brandon Nimmo: Homers twice in win
25m agoNimmo went 2-for-4 with two solo home runs and a walk in Saturday's 11-4 win over the Phillies.
Nimmo got the Mets on the board with a solo homer in the first inning and went deep again in the third. Over his past 10 games, the 32-year-old has notched five multi-hit efforts while tallying five home runs, seven RBI, seven runs scored and two steals. For the season, he's slashing .249/.312/.465 with 15 long balls, 41 RBI, 36 runs scored and six stolen bases across 301 plate appearances.
-
Trent Thornton SEA RP
Mariners' Trent Thornton: Should be fine after early exit
30m agoThornton threw 2.1 scoreless innings of relief before exiting Saturday's eventual 10-7 loss to the Cubs due to heat exhaustion per Daniel Kramer of MLB.com. He allowed one hit and two walks while fanning three.
Thornton had to be helped off the field in the eighth inning, but he's not expected to require additional medical treatment away from the team. After throwing a season-high 51 pitches Saturday, Thornton figures to get a few days off before he's available out of Seattle's bullpen again anyway. The 31-year-old right-hander missed about a month of action due to appendicitis earlier this year, and he's mostly struggled with a 6.35 ERA, 1.50 WHIP and 17:10 K:BB over 22.2 innings.
-
Juan Soto NYM RF
Mets' Juan Soto: Monster performance in win
30m agoSoto went 4-for-5 with two home runs and four RBI in Saturday's 11-4 win over the Phillies.
Soto homered in the third and fifth innings before adding a two-run single in the eighth, marking his first four-hit performance of the season. The 26-year-old is now sporting a 1.208 OPS in June, with six multi-hit efforts and seven home runs through 19 games. On the year, he's slashing .256/.393/.484 with 16 long balls, 41 RBI, 54 runs scored and eight steals across 341 plate appearances.

Jarace Walker IND PF
Pacers' Jarace Walker: Won't play Sunday
6h agoWalker (ankle) has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Thunder.
Walker's 2024-25 campaign has officially come to an end. The 21-year-old forward finished his second season with the Pacers, having averaged 6.1 points, 3.1 rebounds and 1.5 assists per game, shooting 47.2 percent from the field and 40.5 percent from deep.
-
Tyrese Haliburton IND PG
Pacers' Tyrese Haliburton: Questionable for Game 7
6h agoHaliburton (calf) is questionable for Sunday's game against the Thunder.
Haliburton played through his calf strain during Game 6 and performed well despite the injury, finishing with 14 points, one rebound, five assists and two steals across 23 minutes. If he's unable to play in Game 7, Indiana will likely turn to T.J. McConnell and Andrew Nembhard to help shoulder the load in the backcourt.
-
Josh Green CHA SF
Hornets' Josh Green: Undergoes shoulder surgery
1d agoGreen underwent surgery Friday to address the instability in his left shoulder and has no timetable for his return, Roderick Boone of The Charlotte Observer reports.
Green missed the last six games of the 2024-25 regular season due to the shoulder injury. The Arizona product started 67 of the 68 games he played in his first season with Charlotte. He averaged 7.4 points, 2.5 rebounds, 1.6 assists and a career-high 1.1 steals per game, shooting 42.8 percent from the floor and 39.1 percent from beyond the arc.
-
T.J. McConnell IND PG
Pacers' T.J. McConnell: Shines bright in Game 6 victory
2d agoMcConnell finished Thursday's 108-91 win over the Thunder in Game 6 of the NBA Finals with 12 points (6-12 FG, 0-2 FT), nine rebounds, six assists and four steals across 24 minutes.
McConnell stepped up on both ends of the floor, shouldering more of the point guard duties with Tyrese Haliburton limited due to a calf injury. The veteran McConnell has now scored double digits in four of the past five games, while tallying 13 total steals during that time. Although Haliburton will almost certainly be available for Game 7, McConnell will likely be called upon to lighten the load as Indiana looks for its first NBA title.
-
Tyrese Haliburton IND PG
Pacers' Tyrese Haliburton: Limited in Game 6 win
2d agoHaliburton had 14 points (5-12 FG, 3-7 3Pt, 1-1 FT), one rebound, five assists and two steals across 23 minutes during Thursday's 108-91 win over the Thunder in Game 6 of the NBA Finals.
Haliburton played limited minutes Thursday, helped by the fact that the Pacers ran the Thunder out of the gym. This game was never really close, with both teams given the opportunity to rest their stars down the stretch. Despite continuing to deal with what has been reported as a somewhat serious calf injury, there is almost no way Haliburton won't be available for Game 7 on Sunday in Oklahoma City.
-
Isaiah Joe OKC SG
Thunder's Isaiah Joe: Tallies 11 points in loss
2d agoJoe registered 11 points (3-4 FG, 2-3 3Pt, 3-3 FT), one rebound and one assist across 15 minutes during Thursday's 108-91 loss to the Pacers in Game 6 of the NBA Finals.
Joe scored double digits for just the fifth time this postseason, playing a handful of extra minutes as the Thunder was soundly beaten by the Pacers. Joe has barely featured thus far during the playoffs, logging double-digit minutes only four times in the past 16 games. Oklahoma City will now host Game 7 on Sunday, looking to put a bow on what has been an incredible season.
-
T.J. Brodie CHI D
Blackhawks' T.J. Brodie: On waivers for buyout
11h agoBrodie was placed on unconditional waivers by the Blackhawks on Saturday for the purpose of a contract buyout, Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet reports.
If Brodie clears waivers, the Blackhawks will officially buy out the last year of his contract, and he will become an unrestricted free agent. The 35-year-old had two goals and eight assists in 54 appearances before being a healthy scratch for the final 22 games of the 2024-25 regular season. He is too expensive to be spending $3.75 million on, especially with all of the young defensemen Chicago can utilize in 2025-26. Brodie is just a year removed from a 26-point campaign, but considering his age, he will likely be not much more than a depth add for a team in free agency.
-
Andre Burakovsky SEA LW
Kraken's Andre Burakovsky: Headed to Windy City
13h agoChicago acquired Burakovsky from the Kraken on Saturday in exchange for Joe Veleno, Mark Lazerus of The Athletic reports.
Burakovsky has two years remaining on his contract, which carries a $5.5 million cap hit. After battling injuries and missing 66 combined games in 2022-23 and 2023-24, the 30-year-old enjoyed a relatively healthy season in 2024-25, playing 79 games while producing 10 goals and 27 assists. He'll hope to bring similar health to a Chicago team that could use some veteran help on the wing. He'll likely be in the mix for a middle-six role in the 2025-26 campaign.
-
Joseph Veleno CHI C
Kraken's Joe Veleno: Dealt to Seattle
13h agoVeleno was acquired by Seattle from Chicago on Saturday in exchange for Andre Burakovsky, Mark Lazerus of The Athletic reports.
Veleno's time in Chicago was brief after being acquired from Detroit at the trade deadline in March. The 25-year-old had three goals and seven points in 18 regular-season games with the Blackhawks, giving him eight goals and nine assists across 56 regular-season appearances in 2024-25. He should be a bottom-six forward, at best, in Seattle.
-
Cale Fleury SEA D
Kraken's Cale Fleury: Inks two-year extension
1d agoFleury signed a two-year, $1.78 million contract extension with the Kraken on Friday.
Fleury played in 14 games with the Kraken last year, earning one assist, 16 shots on net, 30 hits and 28 blocked shots. His new deal is a one-way contract, so it will offer him a slight raise and some stability after his previous two-year, $1.6 million deal. Fleury is likely to be a seventh defenseman at best for Seattle, and he should be expected to spend a sizable part of the 2025-26 campaign with AHL Coachella Valley.
-
Dryden Hunt CGY LW
Flames' Dryden Hunt: Agrees to two-year contract
1d agoHunt signed a two-year, two-way contract with the Flames on Friday. He'll come with a cap hit of $825,000 if he's on the NHL roster.
Hunt had 16 goals and 49 points in 49 regular-season appearances with the AHL's Wranglers in 2024-25. He also registered three assists in five outings with the Flames. The 29-year-old is likely to spend most of 2025-26 in the minors, but Hunt will be on the list of candidates for promotion if the Flames run into injury troubles.
-
Mavrik Bourque DAL C
Stars' Mavrik Bourque: Inks one-year contract
1d agoBourque signed a one-year, $950,000 contract with Dallas on Friday, according to Chris Johnston of The Athletic.
Bourque managed to play in 73 regular-season games during his rookie campaign in 2024-25, scoring 11 goals and adding 14 assists. He was selected in the opening round, 30th overall, in 2020 and is likely to be a middle-six forward for the Stars next season. Bourque was a healthy scratch on 15 occasions during the playoffs and was held off the scoresheet in the three games he managed to see action in.
