Jean-Charles was not tendered by New Orleans as a restricted free agent, but he will return to the team nonetheless. After spending his first two seasons in Green Bay, the 25-year-old suited up for eight games between the 49ers and Saints in 2023. He accumulated four tackles (three solo) in the process. The Appalachian State product will now look to make an impression during offseason workouts.

6h agoThe Packers re-signed Wilson on Monday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.
An undrafted rookie in 2023, Wilson made the Packers' initial 53-man roster following the preseason and even mixed into seven regular-season games, taking 14 carries for 85 yards and hauling in four of five targets for 23 yards while working behind Aaron Jones and AJ Dillon. Green Bay swapped out Jones for Josh Jacobs and also retained Dillon this offseason, meaning Wilson is poised for a similar role in the coming campaign, barring potential additions to the backfield in free agency or the draft.

McCloud finished his 2023 campaign on the sidelines after getting injured in the team's season finale against the Eagles. Healthy now, the Notre Dame product can focus on being ready for a third campaign in New York after signing his free-agent tender.

7h agoCrosby (knee) said, "I'm feeling better than I ever have," Monday, after he spent much of 2023 fighting through a knee injury that required draining multiple times a week, Nick Shook of NFL.com reports.
Crosby set career highs in combined tackles (90) and sacks (14.5) last season despite spending much of the campaign hampered by a bursa joint issue. The 26-year-old underwent a procedure to correct it in January after the season ended and began rehabbing it soon after, which went "incredible," according to Crosby.

7h agoCoach Andy Reid indicated Monday that Rice is expected to remotely participate in the initial stage of the Chiefs' voluntary offseason program via virtual meetings, NFL.com reports.
Per Adam Teicher of ESPN.com, Rice -- who is is facing one count of aggravated assault, one count of collision involving serious bodily injury and six counts of collision involving injury stemming from his involvement in a car crash in Dallas last month -- turned himself in to police last week and was subsequently released on bond. According to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network, the league has been closely monitoring developments related to the incident, while Reid noted that it remains to be seen whether the wideout will participate later in the spring when the team's offseason program moves to Kansas City. "I want to keep gathering the information from the law enforcement people,'" Reid said Monday. "We'll just see where everything goes from there (and) let the process take place."

7h agoForbes (back) was released by the Browns on Monday with a failed physical designation, Chris Easterling of the Akron Beacon Journal reports.
Forbes missed all of 2023 due to a back injury suffered during training camp. It's unclear what the injury is specifically or how close he could be to being healthy enough to compete. Either way, the 27-year-old will now be a free agent until he is at least fully recovered.

5m agoEflin didn't factor into the decision Monday, allowing six hits and no walks with five strikeouts over 6.1 innings against the Angels.
Eflin got his revenge against the Angels on Monday, holding them scoreless after allowing five runs in five innings against them on April 8. The 30-year-old has yielded mixed results through four starts, giving up at least five earned runs twice while surrendering one run over 12.2 innings during his other pair of starts. Despite the inconsistencies, Eflin's command has been impeccable, with two walks allowed in 23.1 innings. Eflin's projected for a start against the Yankees on Saturday.

Garcia notched his second home run of the campaign Monday but was unable to collect his first multi-hit game of 2024. The outfielder has generated a hit in five of his last six games but owns a .200/.220/.375 slash line through 14 appearances.

Camilo Doval SF RPGiants' Camilo Doval: Earns four-out save
20m agoDoval picked up the save Monday, allowing one hit and no walks with two strikeouts across 1.1 scoreless innings.
Doval retired four of the five batters he faced Monday to earn his second save of the campaign. After racking up 39 saves a season ago, Doval has only seen two save chances and has only made four appearances this far. however, he'll likely have opportunities to enhance those numbers with two more games coming against the 3-14 Marlins and a four-game series against the Diamondbacks left this week.

25m agoHarrison (2-1) earned the win Monday, allowing three runs on eight hits and a walk over 6.0 innings against the Marlins. He struck out two.
Harrison turned in another solid outing Monday, yielding three or fewer runs for the third time in four starts. However, Harrison gave up a solo home run to Avisail Garcia in the second inning for his fifth long ball allowed on the year. After a solid rookie campaign, Harrison has proven to be a reliable arm in the back end of San Francisco's rotation. The 22-year-old is expected to make another start Saturday against the D-Backs.

Michael Lorenzen TEX SPRangers' Michael Lorenzen: Earns win in season debut
27m agoLorenzen (1-0) allowed zero runs on three hits while walking five to earn the win Monday against the Tigers. He struck out four.
Lorenzen struggled with his command as evidenced by the five walks allowed but induced a fifth-inning double play by Mark Canha to close out his night unscathed and earn the victory in his first start of the season. The veteran righty signed with the Rangers in late March after coming off a career-high 153 innings split between the Tigers and Phillies last season. He tossed 79 pitches and will look to increase that total while improving his control during his next start, tentatively slated to take place over the weekend in Atlanta.

Edward Cabrera MIA SPMarlins' Edward Cabrera: Outstanding in 2024 debut
33m agoCabrera didn't factor into the decision Monday, allowing one run on five hits and a walk across six innings against San Francisco. He struck out 10.
Cabrera showed no signs of rust in his first MLB appearance since last September, recording double-digit strikeouts for the third time in his career. After a lengthy rehab stint to open up 2024, Cabrera threw 91 pitches and didn't allow a single extra-base hit to the Giants on Monday. While he wasn't able to pick up the win -- something that could continue considering the Marlins 3-14 record -- Cabrera will provide plenty of fantasy value if he maintains this form. He's lined up for another start Sunday against the Cubs.

2h agoSarr left Monday's Game 3 of the G League Finals against the Maine Celtics due to an ankle injury, Jared Weiss of The Athletic reports.
Sarr was involved in a collision while pursuing a rebound, and he ultimately needed to be carried to the locker room. His return to Monday's clash seems unlikely given the circumstances in which he exited.

Malik Monk (knee) and Kevin Huerter (shoulder) represent notable absences for Sacramento, although there should still be no shortage of drama, as three of Golden State's four regular-season meetings versus the Kings this year were decided by exactly one point.

Golden State will be traveling to Sacramento for Tuesday's showdown, returning to the scene of the crime where Curry dropped 50 points (20-38 FG, 7-18 3Pt) in a victorious Game 7 of last year's first-round series between these teams. Additionally, Curry averaged 31.0 points, 6.3 rebounds and 4.8 assists in four games against the Kings this season.

7h agoWood (knee) has been ruled out for Tuesday's game against the Pelicans, Dan Woike of the Los Angeles Times reports.
Wood has been sidelined since undergoing an arthroscopic procedure on his left knee in March, and he'll remain sidelined as the Lakers begin postseason play Tuesday. It's unclear if he'll be available at any point if the team advances in the postseason.

Vanderbilt's defensive efforts were a key part of the Lakers' run to the Western Conference Finals last season. However, he has been unavailable for most of 2023-24, playing just 29 regular-season games (six appearances). Vanderbilt hasn't played since Feb. 1, so his continued absence shouldn't impact coach Darvin Ham's rotation.

James continues to deal with left ankle peroneal tendinopathy, but he'll likely be able to suit up as the Lakers begin postseason play Tuesday. He appeared in the team's final three regular-season games and averaged 32.7 points, 11.0 assists, 9.0 rebounds and 3.0 steals in 38.3 minutes per game.

Adam Fox NYR DRangers' Adam Fox: Two-point effort in win
3m agoFox scored a shorthanded goal on two shots, added an assist, blocked three shots and went plus-2 in Monday's 4-0 win over the Senators.
Fox has multiple shorthanded points in each of the last four seasons. The defenseman has also recorded three straight 70-point campaigns, finishing 2023-24 with a career-high 17 goals and 56 helpers over 72 appearances. Fox also earned 33 power-play points, 123 blocked shots and a plus-21 rating. The 26-year-old defenseman remains one of the best in the league at his position, and he'll be tasked with a workhorse role during the Rangers' postseason run.

6m agoPanarin scored a goal on seven shots, dished an assist and went plus-2 in Monday's 4-0 win over the Senators.
Panarin finished off his career-best regular season in fine form with 11 goals and 15 helpers during a 13-game point streak. The 32-year-old is at 49 goals, 120 points, 303 shots on net and a plus-18 rating through 82 contests. Panarin fell a goal shy of being the league's fifth 50-goal scorer this season, but he's got plenty of momentum leading into the playoffs.

Igor Shesterkin NYR GRangers' Igor Shesterkin: Posts 26-save shutout
9m agoShesterkin recorded a 26-save shutout in Monday's 4-0 win over the Senators.
Shesterkin helped the Rangers secure the Presidents' Trophy, and he did so in style. The 28-year-old won seven of his last nine contests, allowing 23 goals on 267 shots in that span, good for a .914 save percentage. Shesterkin concludes the regular season at 36-17-2 with four shutouts, a 2.58 GAA and a .913 save percentage over 55 starts. He'll almost certainly be between the pipes for Game 1 of the playoffs, but there's still four teams in contention to be the Rangers' first-round opponent.

Joonas Korpisalo OTT GSenators' Joonas Korpisalo: Gives up four goals
12m agoKorpisalo allowed four goals on 34 shots in Tuesday's 4-0 loss to the Rangers.
While Korpisalo's poor play was often part of the problem for the Senators this season, three of his last four losses were because the team in front of him didn't score. This was likely the 29-year-old's last game of the campaign -- if that holds true, he finishes with a 21-26-4 record, a 3.27 GAA and an .890 save percentage in a career-high 55 games in the first season of a five-year contract. The Senators' season finale is Tuesday in Boston, a game Anton Forsberg is likely to start.

Fleury continues to shuffle between the AHL and NHL levels regularly down the stretch. The 25-year-old has dressed in just one NHL game this season and will likely serve as extra depth for Tuesday's game against Winnipeg.

Alex Lyon DET GRed Wings' Alex Lyon: Wins despite allowing four goals
2h agoLyon allowed four goals on 21 shots during Monday's 5-4 overtime win against Montreal.
Lyon shouldered the heaviest workload of his NHL career this season, going 21-18-5 through 44 games. His .904 save percentage is the result of his roller-coaster play, which can even been seen in recent games. Following two strong games, he has allowed 10 goals on 48 shots over his last two outings. James Reimer is projected to start Tuesday's regular-season finale in Montreal.
