Malachi Corley NYJ WR
Jets' Malachi Corley: Not assured roster spot?
2d agoCorley (undisclosed), who missed mandatory minicamp while continuing to manage an undisclosed injury sustained during OTAs, isn't a lock to make the Jets' regular-season roster, Rich Cimini of ESPN reports.
Corley played just 83 offensive snaps (and eight snaps on special teams) across his nine regular-season appearances as a rookie, despite New York investing third-round draft capital by selecting him 65th overall. His most memorable moment in Year 1 came in the form of a fumble at the goal line during Week 9 that turned what would have been his first career touchdown into a touchback. New offensive coordinator Tanner Engstrand acknowledged that the time Corley has missed during early installs means he's "going to have to find a way to catch himself up." Now fighting an uphill battle, it will be crucial for Corley to get healthy for Day 1 of training camp July 23. The Jets have a relatively open competition at wide receiver behind No. 1 option Garrett Wilson, with Josh Reynolds, Allen Lazard, Arian Smith, Tyler Johnson and Xavier Gipson representing Corley's competition for a spot on the 53-man roster.

Kevin Foelsch KC TE
Kevin Foelsch: Let go by KC
3d agoThe Chiefs waived Foelsch on Friday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.
Foelsch signed with the Chiefs on June 11, but his tenure with the club didn't last long. Kansas City signed fellow tight end Geor'quarius Spivey on Thursday, which precipitated Foelsch's removal from the roster. Foelsch has spent time with the Panthers, Jets and Eagles but has yet to see action in a regular-season NFL game.

Jalen Ramsey MIA CB
Dolphins' Jalen Ramsey: Trade expected before training camp
3d agoThe Dolphins are expected to finalize a trade dealing Ramsey before training camp, and the cornerback's preferred destination would be a West Coast team such as the Rams or Chargers, Dante Collinelli of SI.com reports.
Ramsey and Miami appear united in a mutual desire to part ways, and it's unsurprising that interested teams would want the veteran cornerback present for the start of training camp. Both teams in Los Angeles would benefit from adding a proven starting boundary corner such as Ramsey, though Rams coach Sean McVay said Wednesday that "there would be some obstacles that are real that are in the place of maybe preventing that from occurring," though he said the team is "always open-minded to onboarding and acquiring quality players." The Steelers have also reportedly emerged as an interested party among the Dolphins' trade talks.

Chigoziem Okonkwo TEN TE
Titans' Chig Okonkwo: Displaying chemistry with Ward
3d agoOkonkwo caught the most passes of any player during Tennessee's five open practices of OTAs and mandatory minicamp, and he already appears to have developed a rapport with rookie quarterback Cam Ward, Jim Wyatt of the team's official site reports.
Okonkwo's three seasons in the league thus far have been similar, as he's now started slow, finished strong, played all 17 regular-season games and floated around the 500-yard range each year since joining the Titans in the fourth round of the 2022 NFL Draft. Tennessee added TE Gunnar Helm in the fourth round of the 2025 NFL Draft, but even with more competition for snaps there's reason for optimism that improved quarterback play from Ward, the No. 1 overall pick, will pave the way for Okonkwo's production to finally take a step forward. The 6-foot-3, 238-pound tight end lacks prototypical size but boasts rare speed and YAC ability for his position. Tennessee doesn't have an entrenched No. 2 option in the passing game behind top wideout Calvin Ridley, as Tyler Lockett, Treylon Burks (ACL) and Van Jefferson plus a pair of rookie fourth-rounders in Chimere Dikeand Elic Ayomanor close out the wide receiver room. If he continues building momentum during training camp, it's not inconceivable that Okonkwo could secure that role.

Xazavian Valladay NO RB
Xazavian Valladay: Cut loose by Saints
3d agoNew Orleans waived Valladay on Friday, Mike Garafolo of NFL Network reports.
Valladay hasn't logged a regular-season appearance since he suited up for one game with the Jets in 2023, playing no snaps on offense and 12 snaps on special teams. He spent time on New York's and New Orleans' practice squads last season and will now look for a new landing spot in the league.

Tyjae Spears TEN RB
Titans' Tyjae Spears: Motivated for Year 3
3d agoTitans coach Brian Callahan said during mandatory minicamp that Spears has "had an unbelievable offseason" and that he's "really excited to see what he can bring to us this year because he's been in a great place," Jim Wyatt of the team's official site reports.
Spears has been a full participant at offseason activities after battling ankle and hamstring injuries in 2024, in addition to two concussions, the latter of which forced him to sit out Week 18. The 2023 third-round pick wrapped 2024 with just 312 yards and four touchdowns on 84 carries across 12 regular-season appearances, plus 31 catches for 226 yards and another score. Spears said he's motivated to "be as consistent as I can be" in 2025 and focusing on "doing more things toward being a better teammate." At full health, it wouldn't be inaccurate to call Spears one of the league's most elusive runners, so as long as he's able to stay on the field, he'll have a path to emerge as a meaningful playmaker alongside Tony Pollard. Callahan said in May that his plan for 2025 is to deploy a more even backfield split between Pollard and Spears that allows the two to "play a little more evenly," and the team seems a strong candidate to build its offense around the ground game in Cam Ward's rookie season.

Caleb Durbin MIL 3B
Brewers' Caleb Durbin: Three hits, steal in win
29m agoDurbin went 3-for-5 with a pair of runs scored and a stolen base in Sunday's 9-8 win over Minnesota.
The stolen base was Durbin's first since May 30, though he's been productive at the plate recently, going 11-for-32 (.344) with an .854 OPS in his last nine contests. The rookie third baseman is slashing .228/.318/.332 with three homers, 25 RBI, 25 runs scored and six steals across his first 213 plate appearances.

Spencer Arrighetti HOU SP
Astros' Spencer Arrighetti: Looks ready for mound work
39m agoAstros general manager Dana Brown said that Arrighetti (thumb) could throw a bullpen session Tuesday, Matt Kawahara of the Houston Chronicle reports.
If Arrighetti does complete a side session Tuesday, it would be his first time stepping back on the mound since early April, when he was placed on the injured list after he fractured his right thumb when it was struck by a ball during batting practice. The right-hander will presumably need to complete multiple bullpen sessions while incorporating all his pitches before he advances to facing live hitters. After that, Arrighetti will likely require at least a couple of minor-league rehab starts to build up his pitch count, so he shouldn't be expected to make his return from the 60-day injured list until after the All-Star break.

Tyler Rogers SF RP
Giants' Tyler Rogers: Earns hold Sunday
39m agoRogers picked up a hold in a scoreless inning during Sunday's 9-5 win over the Red Sox, allowing two hits while striking out one.
The 34-year-old surrendered a pair of singles, though Red Sox outfielder Jarren Duran was thrown out trying to stretch the first one into a double. Rogers was effective while earning his second hold in as many days, throwing 10 of his 12 pitches for strikes. The right-hander now owns a 1.24 ERA, 0.69 WHIP and a 31:4 K:BB across 36.1 innings in 38 appearances this season.

Jacob Young WAS CF
Nationals' Jacob Young: Won't be given red light on bases
39m agoYoung went 1-for-3 with a walk, a run scored and a caught stealing in Sunday's loss to the Dodgers.
He's reclaimed the full-time job in center field, starting seven straight games while batting .286 (6-for-21), but Young is having major issues on the basepaths. He beat the throw but overslid second base and got tagged out by Mookie Betts on Sunday, and his last successful steal attempt came back on May 6 -- he's 0-for-5 over his 23 games, and on the season Young's gone a brutal 5-for-13. It's a huge blow to the fantasy value of a player that went 33-for-43 on SB attempts in 2024, but Mark Zuckerman of MASN Sports reports that manager Dave Martinez still has confidence in Young's ability to contribute with his legs. "I want him to steal in that spot, down a run," the manager said after the game. "But I also want him to stay on the base. He had the base stolen easy. He just overslid." Young's defense should keep him in the lineup regardless, but given his lack of power and regular spot at the bottom of the order, he offers little to fantasy rosters if he isn't racking up steals.

Matt Chapman SF 3B
Giants' Matt Chapman: Sheds splint, starts swinging
1h agoChapman (hand) is no longer wearing a splint and has resumed one-handed swinging in the batting cage, per MLB.com.
Chapman was officially placed on the 10-day injured list June 10 due to a right hand injury. However, X-rays came back negative, and he was able to resume light conditioning and baseball activities last week. The star third baseman is likely to miss the rest of June, though he's hopeful he'll return before the All-Star break, according to Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle. In the meantime, Casey Schmitt is expected to fill in at third base.

Kyle Stowers MIA LF
Marlins' Kyle Stowers: Ends power drought
1h agoStowers went 1-for-3 with a walk and a solo home run in Sunday's win over Atlanta.
The 27-year-old took Bryce Elder deep in the second inning to get the Marlins on the board. It was Stowers' 11th long ball of the season but his first since May 14, snapping a 31-game drought in which he's slashed a meager .228/.291/.297 with only five RBI. Stowers is showing signs of coming out of the slump even apart from the home run, however -- over his last 10 contests, he's gone 7-for-27 (.259) with three extra-base hits and a 5:6 BB:K.

Jalen Williams OKC SF
Thunder's Jalen Williams: Notches 20 points in Game 7 win
3m agoWilliams closed with 20 points (7-20 FG, 2-7 3Pt, 4-6 FT), four rebounds, four assists and two steals over 38 minutes during Sunday's 103-91 win over Indiana in Game 7 of the NBA Finals.
Operating as the No. 2 option on offense behind Shai Gilgeous-Alexander this season, Williams was instrumental in Oklahoma City's run to the championship. Playing in just his third campaign, Williams played like a seasoned veteran in his prime, producing averages of 21.6 points, 5.3 rebounds, 5.1 assists, 0.7 blocks, 1.6 steals and 1.8 three-pointers across 69 regular-season appearances. As a fantasy asset, Williams managed to return second-round value in nine-category formats on a per-game basis.

Luguentz Dort OKC SF
Thunder's Luguentz Dort: Sees 35 minutes in win
7m agoDort contributed nine points (3-10 FG, 2-9 3Pt, 1-2 FT), seven rebounds and three steals in 35 minutes during Sunday's 103-91 victory over the Pacers in Game 7 of the NBA Finals.
Playing in his sixth NBA season, Dort posted another reliable campaign on the wings in Oklahoma City, ultimately resulting in a championship run. The 26-year-old wing appeared in 71 regular-season contests, posting averages of 10.1 points, 4.1 rebounds, 1.6 assists, 0.5 blocks, 1.1 steals and 2.4 three-pointers on 43.5 percent shooting from the field. Dort is under contract for one more season with a club option worth $18.2 million in 2026-27.
-
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander OKC SG
Thunder's Shai Gilgeous-Alexander: Dominant in Game 7 win
16m agoGilgeous-Alexander closed Sunday's 103-91 victory over the Pacers in Game 7 of the NBA Finals with 29 points (8-27 FG, 2-12 3Pt, 11-12 FT), five rebounds, 12 assists, two blocks and one steal across 40 minutes.
Gilgeous-Alexander capped off a historic season in style Sunday. Named as the 2025 NBA Finals MVP, Gilgeous-Alexander was also the MVP of the regular season while helping the Thunder win 68 games. As for fantasy, only Nikola Jokic was move valuable from a per-game perspective in nine-category formats. Through 76 regular appearances, he produced 32.7 points, 6.4 assists, 5.0 rebounds, 1.0 blocks, 1.7 steals and 2.1 three-pointers on 51.9 percent shooting from the field and 89.8 percent from the line.

Tyrese Haliburton IND PG
Pacers' Tyrese Haliburton: Set for Achilles surgery Monday
1h agoHaliburton will travel to New York City on Monday and is expected to undergo surgery to repair a torn right Achilles tendon, sources tell Grant Afseth of RG.org.
The Pacers labeled the injury that forced Haliburton out in the first quarter of Sunday's 103-91 loss to the Thunder in Game 7 of the NBA Finals as a right lower leg injury, though the point guard's father, John, told ESPN's Lisa Salters during the game broadcast that his son's injury was to his Achilles. Expect Indiana to provide a formal update on Haliburton's status once his surgery is completed, but given that the standard return timelines for Achilles surgeries typically range from 9-to-12 months, the 25-year-old appears in grave danger of missing the entire 2025-26 regular season, and potentially any postseason contests that may follow. Haliburton's injury represents a devastating development for what was an otherwise cheerful playoff run for the Pacers, who entered the playoffs as the fourth seed in the Eastern Conference and reached their first NBA Finals since 2000. With their star floor general headed for a long-term absence, however, the Pacers face the prospect of a non-contending "gap year" in 2025-26 that will force members of the supporting cast into bigger roles. Haliburton's absence could allow shooting guard Andrew Nembhard to see more time on the ball during the upcoming campaign, and like Nembhard, T.J. McConnell is under contract through 2027-28 and could see a notable uptick from the 17.4 minutes per game he averaged during the playoffs.

Tyrese Haliburton IND PG
Pacers' Tyrese Haliburton: Suffers Achilles injury in Game 7
2h agoHaliburton's father, John, told ESPN's Lisa Salters during the broadcast of the Pacers' 103-91 loss to the Thunder in Game 7 of the NBA Finals that his son suffered a right Achilles injury during the first quarter of the contest, Jamal Collier of ESPN.com reports.
Haliburton, who had been playing through a strained right calf during the series, went down without taking contact while driving to the basket with 4:55 remaining in the opening quarter. The star point guard required assistance off the court and was ruled out for the remainder of the contest soon thereafter, with the Pacers labeling his injury as a right lower leg injury. Though the fear is that Haliburton suffered a torn Achilles tendon that would likely keep him out for the entire 2025-26 season, the Pacers will send him for further diagnostic testing over the next few days before providing an update on the severity of his injury. Haliburton finished the Pacers' surprise postseason run with averages of 17.3 points, 8.6 assists, 5.3 rebounds, 2.3 three-pointers, 1.3 steals and 0.7 blocks in 33.5 minutes per game over his 23 appearances, but his potential Achilles tear tempers both his and his team's outlooks for the upcoming campaign.

Tyrese Haliburton IND PG
Pacers' Tyrese Haliburton: Will not return to Game 7
14h agoHaliburton (lower leg) will not return to Sunday's Game 7 against the Thunder, Brett Siegel of ClutchPoints.com reports.
Haliburton went down with a right lower leg injury in the first quarter and will not be able to return. It is a heartbreaking development for Haliburton, who came in dealing with a right calf strain he sustained in Game 5. He concludes the contest with nine points (3-5 FG, 3-4 3Pt) in just seven minutes. T.J. McConnell figures to step into a large role in his absence, while Bennedict Mathurin and Ben Sheppard could see extra minutes as well.

Topi Niemela TOR D
Maple Leafs' Topi Niemela: Signs with SHL team
1h agoNiemela signed a one-year contract with SHL Malmo on Monday, Joshua Kloke of The Athletic reports.
Niemela is a pending restricted free agent after completing his entry-level contract. The Maple Leafs can retain his NHL rights by giving him a qualifying offer. The 23-year-old defender had two goals and 22 points in 61 regular-season appearances with AHL Toronto in 2024-25 before adding two assists in two playoff outings. Niemela has spent the last two campaigns in the minors and hasn't made his NHL debut yet.

T.J. Brodie CHI D
Blackhawks' T.J. Brodie: On waivers for buyout
2d agoBrodie was placed on unconditional waivers by the Blackhawks on Saturday for the purpose of a contract buyout, Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet reports.
If Brodie clears waivers, the Blackhawks will officially buy out the last year of his contract, and he will become an unrestricted free agent. The 35-year-old had two goals and eight assists in 54 appearances before being a healthy scratch for the final 22 games of the 2024-25 regular season. He is too expensive to be spending $3.75 million on, especially with all of the young defensemen Chicago can utilize in 2025-26. Brodie is just a year removed from a 26-point campaign, but considering his age, he will likely be not much more than a depth add for a team in free agency.

Andre Burakovsky SEA LW
Kraken's Andre Burakovsky: Headed to Windy City
2d agoChicago acquired Burakovsky from the Kraken on Saturday in exchange for Joe Veleno, Mark Lazerus of The Athletic reports.
Burakovsky has two years remaining on his contract, which carries a $5.5 million cap hit. After battling injuries and missing 66 combined games in 2022-23 and 2023-24, the 30-year-old enjoyed a relatively healthy season in 2024-25, playing 79 games while producing 10 goals and 27 assists. He'll hope to bring similar health to a Chicago team that could use some veteran help on the wing. He'll likely be in the mix for a middle-six role in the 2025-26 campaign.
-
Joseph Veleno CHI C
Kraken's Joe Veleno: Dealt to Seattle
2d agoVeleno was acquired by Seattle from Chicago on Saturday in exchange for Andre Burakovsky, Mark Lazerus of The Athletic reports.
Veleno's time in Chicago was brief after being acquired from Detroit at the trade deadline in March. The 25-year-old had three goals and seven points in 18 regular-season games with the Blackhawks, giving him eight goals and nine assists across 56 regular-season appearances in 2024-25. He should be a bottom-six forward, at best, in Seattle.
-
Cale Fleury SEA D
Kraken's Cale Fleury: Inks two-year extension
3d agoFleury signed a two-year, $1.78 million contract extension with the Kraken on Friday.
Fleury played in 14 games with the Kraken last year, earning one assist, 16 shots on net, 30 hits and 28 blocked shots. His new deal is a one-way contract, so it will offer him a slight raise and some stability after his previous two-year, $1.6 million deal. Fleury is likely to be a seventh defenseman at best for Seattle, and he should be expected to spend a sizable part of the 2025-26 campaign with AHL Coachella Valley.
-
Dryden Hunt CGY LW
Flames' Dryden Hunt: Agrees to two-year contract
3d agoHunt signed a two-year, two-way contract with the Flames on Friday. He'll come with a cap hit of $825,000 if he's on the NHL roster.
Hunt had 16 goals and 49 points in 49 regular-season appearances with the AHL's Wranglers in 2024-25. He also registered three assists in five outings with the Flames. The 29-year-old is likely to spend most of 2025-26 in the minors, but Hunt will be on the list of candidates for promotion if the Flames run into injury troubles.
