This Week's Toyota Owners 400
Yahoo: Top 30 Drivers
Yahoo / Fantasy Live / Fox: Quick Picks: Coming Soon
Fresh of a trip to Bristol Motor Speedway, the Sprint Cup Series heads to another short track this weekend. Richmond International Raceway will host Sunday's Toyota Owners 400, and while the 0.75-mile oval is the largest of the three short tracks on the schedule, you can still expect some bumping and banging at the "Action Track."
Heading into the race, it is tough to ignore the season that Joe Gibbs Racing is putting together. Despite bad luck for Kyle Busch and Matt Kenseth at Bristol last weekend, JGR drivers have still won four of the first eight races, including three straight. By the way, all four JGR drivers have won at Richmond.
Not surprisingly, the Joe Gibbs Racing drivers are all ranked near the top of this week's rankings. You can check out the entire top 30 below, and make sure to check back this weekend for updated picks following practice and qualifying.
1. KYLE BUSCH, #18 MARS BRANDS/INTERSTATE BATTERIES, JOE GIBBS RACING [YAHOO CLASS A]
His four wins and 7.1 average finish at Richmond are both the best among active drivers, and in 21 starts at the track, he has logged 14 top five finishes. Since 2010 alone, Busch has six finishes of third or better in 11 starts at RIR, including a pair of trips to victory lane.
2. JOEY LOGANO, #22 SHELL-PENNZOIL, TEAM PENSKE[YAHOO CLASS A]
Logano has been a different driver at Richmond since joining Team Penske. After managing just one top 10 in eight starts here with Joe Gibbs Racing, he has five finishes of sixth or better in six starts at the track in the No. 22. Logano has three finishes of third or better during the same stretch, including a win in the spring of 2014.
3. KEVIN HARVICK, #4 BUSCH BEER/JIMMY JOHNS, STEWART-HAAS RACING [YAHOO CLASS A]
He is a three-time winner at Richmond, and Harvick's 10.8 average finish at the track ranks second in the series. He is riding a streak of seven straight top 15s at RIR, finishing second in the spring race last year and winning the spring event in 2013.
4. BRAD KESELOWSKI, #2 MILLER LITE, TEAM PENSKE [YAHOO CLASS A]
Keselowski has come into his own at Richmond, finishing eighth or better in three of his last five starts here and leading more than 100 laps three times during the same stretch. He clobbered the competition in the September race in 2014, leading 383 of the 400 laps on his way to the win.
5. MATT KENSETH, #20 DOLLLAR GENERAL/DEWALT, JOE GIBBS RACING [YAHOO CLASS A]
His win at Richmond last fall was the latest chapter of a recent run of success at the track. Since 2012, he has seven finishes of 11th or better in eight starts at the track, including six finishes of seventh or better. Kenseth has a safe floor and a high ceiling this weekend.
