Sean Murphy-Bunting ARI CB
Cardinals' Sean Murphy-Bunting: Done for season
1h agoMurphy-Bunting (undisclosed) was placed on the reserve/non-football injury list by the Cardinals on Thursday, Theo Mackie of The Arizona Republic reports.
The type of injury was not disclosed by either Murphy-Bunting or the Cardinals, but the nature of the transaction means that it happened away from team facilities and that the cornerback will miss the 2025 season. Murphy-Bunting started 15 games for the Cardinals in 2024, the first year of a three-year free-agent contract he signed the previous March. Arizona has two other experienced corners, Starling Thomas and Garrett Williams, back from last year as well as 2025 second-round pick Will Johnson.

Jermaine Burton CIN WR
Bengals' Jermaine Burton: Impressing at camp
5h agoHead coach Zac Taylor told reporters Wednesday that Burton has "done a good job" this offseason, Chris Roling of USA Today reports.
Burton, a 2024 third-round pick from Alabama, struggled throughout his rookie campaign, catching just four passes for 107 yards and tallying 378 kick-return yards over 14 games. Additionally, the Bengals had concerns about the 23-year-old's character, as he missed a pregame walkthrough and was involved in other incidents during the 2024 season. However, Taylor seems to be impressed with Burton's progression this offseason. If he can continue to impresses Cincinnati's staff this summer, Burton could serve as the team's No. 3 wide receiver in 2025.

Maxx Crosby LV DE
Raiders' Maxx Crosby: Past ankle issue
5h agoCrosby (ankle) was a full participant in Wednesday's practice, Tashan Reed of The Athletic reports.
Crosby missed the final five games of the Raiders' 2024 campaign due to an ankle injury, but his full practice participation Wednesday suggests he's already moved past the issue. The Eastern Michigan product inked a three-year, $106.5 million extension to keep him in Las Vegas in early March after posting 59.5 sacks across six seasons with the team. Now back to full health, Crosby is expected to remain one of the NFL's top defensive playmakers in 2025.

Aidan Hutchinson DET DE
Lions' Aidan Hutchinson: Back to full health
5h agoHutchinson (leg) told reporters Thursday that he's fully cleared to return, Eric Woodyard of ESPN.com reports.
Hutchinson was the frontrunner for Defensive Player of the Year before sustaining a season-ending leg injury in the Lions' Week 6 win over the Cowboys in 2024. However, he now appears to be completely past the issue. Over the Michigan product's first three years in the NFL, he appeared in 39 regular-season games and recorded 132 total tackles, including 28.5 sacks, 10 passes defended, with four interceptions, and four forced fumbles. Now back to full health, Hutchinson is expected to continue wreaking havoc on opposing quarterbacks in 2025.

Brian Burns NYG LB
Giants' Brian Burns: Contract restructured
5h agoThe Giants converted $10 million of Burns' base salary into a signing bonus Thursday, Field Yates of ESPN reports.
According to Yates, the Giants signed 2025 third-overall pick Abdul Carter on Thursday and converted part of Burns' salary into a signing bonus to stay under the salary cap. The 2019 first-round pick made an impact in his first year with the Giants, recording 71 total tackles, including 8.5 sacks, and eight passes defended over 17 regular-season contests. He's now expected to be a part of one of the NFL's top pass-rush duos in 2025, starting opposite Carter.

Dallin Holker NO TE
Saints' Dallin Holker: Dealing with injury
5h agoHead coach Kellen Moore told reporters Thursday that Holker (undisclosed) is dealing with a "minor" injury, Matthew Paras of The New Orleans Times-Picayune reports.
The Colorado State product served as the Saints' No. 3 tight end in 2024, catching three of his four targets for 21 yards while playing 104 total snaps (73 offensive, 31 on special teams) across 12 regular-season games. With Holker and Foster Moreau (knee) currently sidelined, Jack Stoll and Moliki Matavao will likely see increased offensive reps.

Gleyber Torres DET 2B
Tigers' Gleyber Torres: Dealing with leg issue
31m agoTorres exited Thursday's game against the Guardians due to lower right leg discomfort, Evan Petzold of the Detroit Free Press reports.
Torres was pulled after hitting a hard line drive to end the third inning. It's unclear how serious the issue is, or if Torres will be forced to miss additional time.

Miles Mastrobuoni SEA 3B
Mariners' Miles Mastrobuoni: Late addition to Thursday's lineup
39m agoMastrobuoni will hit eighth and play right field Thursday against the Astros.
Mastrobuoni was not originally in Thursday's lineup but will enter to play right field after Julio Rodriguez (undisclosed) was a late scratch. Leody Taveras will shift from right field to center field.
-
Julio Rodriguez SEA CF
Mariners' Julio Rodriguez: Late scratch Thursday
1h agoRodriguez was scratched from Thursday's lineup against the Astros for undisclosed reasons, Daniel Kramer of MLB.com reports.
The Mariners said that any update would not come until after Thursday's game, so there is no indication as to why Rodriguez was scratched.

Christian Montes De Oca ARI RP
Diamondbacks' Christian Montes De Oca: Shuttled back to minors
1h agoMontes De Oca was optioned to Triple-A Reno on Thursday, Alex D'Agostino of SI.com reports.
Montes De Oca had his contract selected Friday but did not appear in a game. Justin Martinez (shoulder) is expected to be activated from the injured list in the corresponding move.

Gleyber Torres DET 2B
Tigers' Gleyber Torres: Exits Thursday's game early
1h agoTorres exited Thursday's game against the Guardians in the fourth inning, Evan Petzold of the Detroit Free Press reports.
There was no injury announced and no clear issue before Torres was removed, so this will be a situation to monitor as more details emerge. Andy Ibanez entered the game at second base to take his place.

Brent Rooker ATH DH
Athletics' Brent Rooker: Homer, three hits Thursday
1h agoRooker went 3-for-4 with a two-run homer and a double in Thursday's 10-5 loss to the Angels.
Rooker opened the scoring in the first inning with a two-run, 440-foot blast off Tyler Anderson, his 11th homer of the year. It's the first long ball in 10 games for Rooker, who'd gone just 6-for-38 (.158) in that span. He's now slashing .245/.313/.456 with 25 RBI, 31 runs scored and a pair of stolen bases across 224 plate appearances this year.

Moses Moody GS SF
Warriors' Moses Moody: Undergoes surgery on thumb
5h agoThe Warriors announced Thursday that Moody had surgery on a torn UCL in his right thumb Wednesday, Anthony Slater of The Athletic reports.
Slater notes that Moody had a wrap on it at times late in the season. The good news for the Warriors is that the forward is expected to be back in time for the start of training camp. In 74 regular-season appearances in 2024-25, Moody averaged 9.8 points, 2.6 rebounds, 1.3 assists, 0.8 steals and 1.7 three-pointers in 22.3 minutes.

Delon Wright NY SG
Knicks' Delon Wright: Rare appearance in Game 1 loss
16h agoWright closed Wednesday's 138-135 overtime loss to Indiana in Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Finals with no counting stats in zero minutes.
Wright made an appearance for just the second time these playoffs due purely to the fact Jalen Brunson was in foul trouble. Despite being a strong defender, Wright has been unable to carve out a consistent role in New York, which certainly isn't unusual for fringe players under Tom Thibodeau. Barring injuries to others, Wright will likely spend most of his time riding the pine.

OG Anunoby NY SF
Knicks' OG Anunoby: Strong two-way performance
16h agoAnunoby supplied 16 points (6-15 FG, 2-8 3Pt, 2-4 FT), three rebounds, two assists, three blocks and three steals in 42 minutes during Wednesday's 138-135 overtime loss to the Pacers in Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Finals.
Anunoby got it done on both ends of the floor, albeit in a losing effort. He has now recorded 10 combined steals and blocks over the past two games, averaging 19.5 points, 6.0 rebounds, 2.5 steals, 2.5 blocks and 3.0 three-pointers during that time. The loss sees the Knicks fall behind 1-0 despite having home-court advantage. Following a devastating defeat, New York must refocus heading into Game 2 Friday.
-
Karl-Anthony Towns NY C
Knicks' Karl-Anthony Towns: Big-time effort not enough
16h agoTowns logged 35 points (11-17 FG, 4-8 3Pt, 9-11 FT), 12 rebounds, two assists, one block and one steal in 39 minutes during Wednesday's 138-135 overtime loss to the Pacers in Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Finals.
Towns scored a postseason-high 35 points, adding double-digit rebounds for the eighth time in the past 10 games. While both he and Jalen Brunson did everything they could to get the Knicks over the line, a late flurry by the Pacers proved too much. This will feel like one that got away for New York after having led by double digits during the final quarter. Game 2 will be in New York on Friday, with the Knicks needing to win to avoid trailing 2-0 heading back to Indiana.
-
Ben Sheppard IND SG
Pacers' Ben Sheppard: Fails to score in victory
16h agoSheppard notched zero points (0-1 FG, 0-1 3Pt) and one assist over seven minutes during Wednesday's 138-135 overtime win over the Knicks in Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Finals.
Sheppard continues to play a minimal role, failing to score for the fourth time in the past seven games. In fact, Sheppard didn't even enter the rotation until late in the contest after having played a role in the first half of the previous eight playoff games. Indiana is now at the pointy end of the season, meaning there could be a squeeze for minutes for players like Sheppard.
-
Myles Turner IND C
Pacers' Myles Turner: Modest performance in Game 1 win
17h agoTurner posted 14 points (6-11 FG, 1-4 3Pt, 1-2 FT), five rebounds, two assists, one block and one steal across 31 minutes during Wednesday's 138-135 overtime victory over New York in Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Finals.
Turner scored double-digit points for the eighth straight game, although his supporting numbers were just serviceable, at best. Prior to Wednesday, Turner had blocked 12 shots in his previous four games, something the coaching staff would welcome with open arms moving forward. If he can play more of a prominent role on the defensive end, that will go a long way to helping Indiana assert its dominance. The two teams will meet again in New York on Friday.

Jalen Chatfield CAR D
Hurricanes' Jalen Chatfield: Not playing after all
31m agoChatfield (undisclosed) won't be in the lineup for Game 2 versus the Panthers on Thursday, despite taking warmups, Cory Lavalette of the North State Journal reports.
Chatfield looked poised to return, but evidently he is not quite ready to go just yet. Scott Morrow will instead be in the lineup, but Chatfield appears on the brink of returning and could be ready for Game 3 on Saturday, which will likely boil down to a game-time decision once again.
-
Jalen Chatfield CAR D
Hurricanes' Jalen Chatfield: Slated to play Thursday
1h agoChatfield (undisclosed) is expected to play against Florida for Game 2 of the Eastern Conference Finals on Thursday, per Ryan Henkel of The Hockey News.
Chatfield missed the Hurricanes' previous two games. He has an assist, six PIM, eight shots, nine hits and 11 blocks across nine playoff outings this year. Scott Morrow is set to be a healthy scratch Thursday due to Chatfield's return.
-
Sergei Bobrovsky FLA G
Panthers' Sergei Bobrovsky: Starting Game 2
1h agoBobrovsky will guard the road goal versus the Hurricanes in Game 2 of the Eastern Conference Finals on Thursday, Chip Alexander of The Raleigh News & Observer reports.
Bobrovsky stopped 31 of 33 shots in a 5-2 win to open the series Tuesday. He's 9-4 with a 2.29 GAA and a .905 save percentage over 13 playoff contests so far. The 33 shots against the Hurricanes put up Game 1 were the most Bobrovsky has faced so far in the postseason, so he'll likely continue to be busy throughout the series.
-
Mark Jankowski CAR C
Hurricanes' Mark Jankowski: Ready to rock
9h agoJankowski (undisclosed) will be available for Game 2 versus Florida on Thursday, Chip Alexander of The Raleigh News & Observer reports.
Jankowski missed the last five games with the injury, as he was hurt in Game 1 versus Washington in the second round of the playoffs. Jankowski has one assist, two hits and three blocked shots across three playoff games. Jesperi Kotkaniemi could be the odd man out of the lineup upon Jankowski's return.
-
Frederik Andersen CAR G
Hurricanes' Frederik Andersen: Slated to start Game 2
10h agoAndersen is expected to get the starting nod at home against the Panthers in Game 2 on Thursday.
Following Andersen's previous postseason loss, he excelled with a 21-save shutout performance, so fans and fantasy players alike will be hoping for a similar bounceback in Game 2 versus the Cats. Despite the disappointing outing in Game 1, Andersen is still sporting a 1.74 GAA in 10 postseason contests while registering a 7-3 record. At this point, Andersen has likely earned himself some leash to keep the starting job even if he struggles.
-
Darnell Nurse EDM D
Oilers' Darnell Nurse: Posts helper
20h agoNurse logged an assist, two shots on goal and three hits in Wednesday's 6-3 loss to the Stars in Game 1.
Nurse has a helper in each of the last two games, and all five of his points this postseason have come over the last seven contests. The defenseman is at two goals, three assists, 29 shots on net, 30 hits, 29 blocked shots, six PIM and an even plus-minus rating through 12 playoff outings. While he won't add offense all the time, he's a steady source of non-scoring production.
