Tyler Shatley JAC OG
Jaguars' Tyler Shatley: Staying in Jacksonville
3h agoThe Jaguars re-signed Shatley on Friday.
Not all of the details of the deal are known at this point, but Shatley is now poised to spend at least next season in Jacksonville - his 11th straight year with the team. The Jaguars will likely seek to add talent at offensive line during the upcoming draft, but Shatley figures to at least provide veteran depth to the interior of the offensive line in 2024.

Andrew Ogletree IND TE
Colts' Drew Ogletree: Back with team
6h agoGM Chris Ballard noted Friday that Ogletree is off the NFL's Commissioner Exempt List, Stephen Holder of ESPN.com reports.
Per the report, Ogletree -- whose charges stemming from his arrest in December were dismissed last month -- is back with the Colts during offseason workouts. Prior to being placed on the Commissioner Exempt List on Dec. 30, Ogletree caught nine of his 21 targets for 147 yards and two TDs in 12 regular-season games with Indianapolis.

J.K. Dobbins BAL RB
Chargers' J.K. Dobbins: Should be ready for training camp
6h agoDobbins (Achilles), who agreed to terms with the Chargers on Thursday, "should be" ready for training camp according to GM Joe Hortiz, Daniel Popper of The Athletic reports.
Tom Pelissero of NFL Network relayed last month that Dobbins -- who suffered a torn Achilles in Baltimore's regular-season opener in 2023 -- has been cleared for football activities, with previous reports having noted that the running back had resumed running this offseason. Based on the assessment of Hortiz on Thursday, Dobbins is still working his way back from his injury, but if the 2020 second-rounder is able to return to form, he and Gus Edwards (who also came over from the Ravens in free agency) have a chance to provide an effective 1-2 punch in the Chargers' backfield in 2024 under the guidance of offensive coordinator Greg Roman, who both players worked with in Baltimore.

Kerby Joseph DET DB
Lions' Kerby Joseph: Should be 100 percent for camp
8h agoJoseph (hip) -- who won't take part in practices this spring -- expects to be fully healthy by the start of training camp, Dave Birkett of the Detroit Free Press reports.
Joseph underwent an offseason procedure to address a hip injury that originally occurred in Week 2 of the 2023 campaign. Though he returned to play after missing two contests, en route to logging 82 tackles and four picks in 15 regular-season outings overall, the issue evidently lingered to the point that it required attention following the postseason. Once he's back to 100 percent, Joseph will reprise his starting free safety role with the Lions.

D.J. Chark CAR WR
DJ Chark: Visits with Chargers
9h agoChark visited the Chargers on Thursday, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
Few teams are more in need of wide receivers, with the Chargers having released Mike Williams and traded Keenan Allen earlier this offseason. Chark has never come close to matching his 1,008-yard, eight-TD performance in 2019 for Jacksonville, but he did top 500 yards both of the past two seasons in Detroit and Carolina, starting 21 of 26 games along the way. Chark will turn 28 in September and doesn't figure to command a large contract.

Courtland Sutton DEN WR
Broncos' Courtland Sutton: No concern about OTA absence
9h agoBroncos GM George Paton suggested Thursday that he isn't worried about Sutton's absence from voluntary offseason workouts, Zac Stevens of TheDNVR.com reports. "It's 100 percent voluntary," Paton said. "It's the first week of the offseason program. I've talked to Courtland. He's in a good place, and I'll just leave it at that."
Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reported Tuesday that Sutton's absence from voluntary OTAs is related to wanting a new contract. The wideout has two years and approximately $27.6 million remaining on his current deal, with only $2 million of that guaranteed. It's not the type of situation with especially high risk for a holdout, and Sutton looks to be especially important for Denver's offense after the team traded WR Jerry Jeudy to Cleveland in the offseason. It's not yet clear who will start across from Sutton at wide receiver, nor is it clear who will get the nod under center Week 1. The Broncos still have a lot to work out this spring and summer, with the upcoming NFL Draft presumably being a piece of that puzzle.

George Springer TOR RF
Blue Jays' George Springer: Day off Friday
3m agoSpringer isn't in the Blue Jays' lineup for Friday's game against San Diego.
Springer will catch a breather after going 2-for-10 with four walks during Toronto's previous series against the Yankees. While he sits, Cavan Biggio will shift to right field, allowing Davis Schneider to pick up a start at second base while batting fourth.
-
James Outman LAD CF
Dodgers' James Outman: Idle against lefty
8m agoOutman isn't in the Dodgers' lineup for Friday's game versus the Mets.
The lefty-hitting Outman will take a seat Friday as the Mets prepare to send southpaw Sean Manaea to the mound for the start of the game. Chris Taylor, Andy Pages and Teoscar Hernandez will start across the outfield while Outman watches from the dugout.
-
Max Muncy LAD 3B
Dodgers' Max Muncy: Not starting against southpaw
11m agoMuncy isn't in the Dodgers' lineup for Friday's game against the Mets.
With southpaw Sean Manaea on the mound for the Mets, Muncy will retreat to the bench to begin Friday's contest. Miguel Rojas will take his spot at the hot corner and bat eighth.
-
Jake Cronenworth SD 1B
Padres' Jake Cronenworth: Back in lineup Friday
13m agoCronenworth (calf) is starting at first base and hitting third in the lineup for Friday's game against the Blue Jays, Jeff Sanders of The San Diego Union-Tribune reports.
Cronenworth left Monday's game against the Brewers after experiencing calf tightness. He sat out for the Padres' last two games, and the team's day off Thursday has given the 30-year-old enough time to heal up. Cronenworth is slashing .254/.333/.465 with three home runs and 14 RBI over 81 plate appearances to start the season.
-
Gavin Lux LAD 2B
Dodgers' Gavin Lux: Resting against lefty
13m agoLux isn't in the Dodgers' lineup for Friday's game against the Mets.
The Dodgers will face left-hander Sean Manaea on Friday, meaning the left-handed bat of Lux will begin the game in the dugout. Enrique Hernandez will fill in at second base and bat sixth.
-
Matt Carpenter STL DH
Cardinals' Matt Carpenter: Takes swings Friday
16m agoCarpenter (oblique) took swings during batting practice Friday, Jeff Jones of the Belleville News-Democrat reports.
Carpenter began taking infield practice last weekend, and Friday marks the first time the 38-year-old veteran has participated in batting practice. He remains without an official timetable, but he could head to the minors for a rehab assignment relatively soon if he's able to continue swinging without any issues.
-
Jaime Jaquez Jr. MIA SF
Heat's Jaime Jaquez: Joins starting five
8m agoJaquez is starting Friday's Play-In Game against the Bulls.
Jaquez will take the place of Jimmy Butler, who is expected to miss several weeks with an MCL sprain. While Butler is surely a big loss for the Heat, Jaquez has shown that he can produce while playing with the first unit, scoring in double figures in 16 of 20 starts during the regular season.
-
Damian Lillard MIL PG
Bucks' Damian Lillard: Back at practice Friday
26m agoLillard (adductor) practiced Friday, Eric Nehm of The Athletic reports.
Lillard didn't practice Tuesday or Wednesday to rest lingering injuries but is trending in the right direction after putting in a full session Friday. However, his status for Game 1 of the opening-round series against Indiana on Sunday likely won't be known until Saturday afternoon.
-
Ayo Dosunmu CHI PG
Bulls' Ayo Dosunmu: Good to go Friday
1h agoDosunmu (quad) is available for Friday's Play-In Game against the Heat, Ira Winderman of the South Florida Sun Sentinel reports.
Despite missing the final four games of the regular season, Dosunmu played 41 minutes in Wednesday's Play-In victory over Atlanta, putting up 19 points, three assists, two blocks and a rebound. After playing over 40 minutes Wednesday, the Bulls are not expected to limit the 24-year-old's minutes, especially in a win-or-go-home scenario.
-
Alex Caruso CHI SG
Bulls' Alex Caruso: Officially cleared to play
1h agoCaruso (ankle) is available for Friday's Play-In Game against Miami.
There was initial concern regarding the severity of Caruso's ankle injury that he suffered Wednesday against Atlanta, but he was examined further Thursday, which showed reduced swelling. He said Friday morning that he expected to play against the Heat, and he's officially been cleared to suit up in the win-or-go-home matchup. Over his six appearances this month, he's averaged 8.8 points, 5.5 assists, 3.7 rebounds and 2.2 steals in 32.3 minutes per game.
-
Andre Drummond CHI C
Bulls' Andre Drummond: Available Friday
1h agoDrummond (ankle) is available for Friday's Play-In Game against the Heat, Julia Poe of the Chicago Tribune reports.
Drummond missed the final three games of the regular season with a left ankle sprain but returned to action for Wednesday's victory over Atlanta, putting up four points, four rebounds, three blocks and a steal in 11 minutes. In a win-or-go-home scenario, the Bulls may limit Drummond's playing time again, especially if Nikola Vucevic stays out of foul trouble.
-
Duncan Robinson MIA SG
Heat's Duncan Robinson: Officially available for Friday
1h agoRobinson (back) is available for Friday's Play-In Game against Chicago, Ira Winderman of the South Florida Sun Sentinel reports.
Robinson was probable for Friday's matchup, so his availability isn't very surprising. However, he was also available for Wednesday's Play-In Game against the 76ers but didn't see any playing time. Jimmy Butler (knee) and Terry Rozier (neck) are both out, so Miami may need minutes of Robinson even if he isn't 100 percent.
-
Carl Grundstrom LA RW
Kings' Carl Grundstrom: Returning from conditioning stint
2h agoGrundstrom (lower body) will return from his conditioning loan with AHL Ontario and practice with LA on Saturday, John Hoven of SiriusXM NHL Network Radio reports.
Grundstrom has recorded a goal and an assist in two appearances with Ontario during his conditioning stint. It was his first action since Feb. 13. Grundstrom provided eight goals, 12 points and 115 hits in 50 regular-season contests with LA in 2023-24. If he's available for Game 1 against Edmonton on Monday, then the 26-year-old might serve on the fourth line.
-
Ryan Johansen PHI C
Flyers' Ryan Johansen: Out indefinitely
3h agoJohansen (undisclosed) doesn't believe he's medically fit to play hockey, and GM Daniel Briere doesn't expect to get the 31-year-old forward back, Jon Bailey of Philly Hockey Now reports Friday.
Johansen had 13 goals and 23 points in 63 contests with Colorado before being dealt to Philadelphia on March 6. The Flyers promptly tried to reassign him to AHL Lehigh Valley, but Johansen informed Philadelphia that he was hurt, which made him ineligible to be moved to the minors, per Max Miller of The Hockey News. Instead, he spent the remainder of the campaign attempting to recover from the injury. He comes with an $8 million annual cap hit through 2024-25, but the Flyers are only responsible for half of that burden with the rest being charged to Nashville because the Predators retained salary as part of the trade to Colorado back in June. If Johansen can't play in 2024-25, then he will presumably be moved to long-term injured reserve.
-
Alex Turcotte LA C
Kings' Alex Turcotte: Returns to minors
4h agoTurcotte was reassigned to AHL Ontario on Friday.
Turcotte had a goal and four points in 20 regular-season contests with LA in 2023-24. He's also supplied seven goals and 25 points across 33 appearances with Ontario.
-
Bobby McMann TOR C
Maple Leafs' Bobby McMann: Questionable for Game 1
4h agoMcMann (lower body) missed Friday's practice and is questionable for Game 1 versus Boston on Saturday, David Alter of The Hockey News reports.
McMann was absent for Toronto's final two regular-season contests due to the injury. He finished the 2023-24 campaign with 15 goals, 24 points, 52 PIM and 117 hits in 56 appearances. The 27-year-old averaged just 11:34 of ice time during the regular season and would likely see his minutes be similarly limited if he is an option for the postseason opener.
-
William Nylander TOR RW
Maple Leafs' William Nylander: Questionable for Saturday
4h agoNylander (undisclosed) missed Friday's practice, putting his availability for Game 1 against Boston on Saturday in question, per Joshua Kloke of The Athletic.
Nylander set a new career high of 98 points and matched his personal best of 40 goals while playing in all 82 regular-season games. The Maple Leafs might experiment with having Auston Matthews, Mitchell Marner and William Nylander all on separate lines in an effort to spread their offense, so Nylander's absence would throw a significant wrench in that plan. If he can't play in Game 1, Noah Gregor, who is otherwise projected to be a healthy scratch, might serve in a bottom-six capacity.
-
Jesper Fast CAR RW
Hurricanes' Jesper Fast: Won't play Saturday
4h agoFast (undisclosed) will not be in the lineup for Game 1 against the Islanders on Saturday, Chip Alexander of The Raleigh News & Observer reports.
Fast is currently stuck in a 24-game goal drought dating back to Feb. 13 versus the Stars. During his slump, the Swede notched six helpers, 23 shots and 30 hits while averaging 12:03 of ice time. Once given the all-clear, Fast should challenge Jack Drury or Stefan Noesen for a spot in the lineup.
