Andre Dillard TEN OT
Packers' Andre Dillard: Inks deal with Green Bay
22m agoThe Packers signed Dillard on Thursday.
After one year in Tennessee, the 2019 first-round pick has agreed to terms with the Packers. Dillard has appeared in 59 games across his NFL career, tallying 19 total starts. He's expected to compete for a depth role on Green Bay's offensive line over the course of the offseason.

Shaka Toney WAS DE
Commanders' Shaka Toney: Reinstated from suspension
28m agoThe NFL reinstated Toney from suspension Thursday, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports.
Toney missed all of the Commanders' 2023 campaign after getting suspending for violating the NFL's gambling policy, but he's now been reinstated. Across his 26 appearances with Washington from 2021-2022, the 26-year-old defensive end recorded 16 total tackles, including 1.5 sacks. He's now expected to compete for a rotational role on the Commanders' defensive line as the offseason progresses.

Micah Hyde BUF SS
Micah Hyde: Still considering retirement
35m agoBills' GM Brandon Bean told reporters Thursday that he spoke with Hyde on Wednesday and the safety is still mulling retirement, Joe Buscaglia of The Athletic reports.
Rumors about Hyde retiring began circulating toward the end of January, and he still has not made his decision. The 33-year-old has appeared in just 16 games over the past two seasons for the Bills, recording 61 total tackles and defending seven passes, including two interceptions. Hyde, who's currently a free agent, would likely have a handful of suitors if he chooses to play in 2024.

Nakobe Dean PHI LB
Eagles' Nakobe Dean: Nearing return
45m agoDean (foot) said Thursday that he's been out of his walking boot since February, Zach Berman of The Athletic reports.
Dean has been dealing with a foot injury that forced him to miss Philadelphia's final seven games last season, but it sounds like he could be returning to the field soon. Dean logged 30 total tackles, including 0.5 sacks throughout his five appearances in 2023, and the 23-year-old is expected to remain one of the Philadelphia's top inside linebackers once his recovery from Lisfranc surgery is complete.
-
Quintez Cephus DET WR
Quintez Cephus: Reinstated from suspension
2h agoThe NFL reinstated Cephus from suspension Thursday, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports.
The 2020 fifth-round pick was one of five players reinstated Thursday, out of the seven suspended indefinitely last offseason for violations of the league's gambling policy. The Lions released Cephus shortly thereafter but may now have some interest in bringing him back to compete for a depth role. He showed some promise his first two seasons while totaling 553 receiving yards and four TDs in 18 games (five starts), with a foot injury then limiting him to four appearances and 15 yards in 2022. He recently turned 26 years old and should get a tryout somewhere even if Detroit isn't interested in a reunion.

Terrel Bernard BUF LB
Bills' Terrel Bernard: Moves past ankle issue
3h agoBernard, who missed the Bills' Jan. 21 playoff loss to the Chiefs due to an ankle injury, feels very good health-wise at this stage of the offseason, Sal Capaccio of WGR Sports Radio 550 Buffalo reports.
Prior to suffering his injury in the Bills' wild-card win over the Steelers on Jan. 15, Bernard racked up 143 tackles, 6.5 sacks and three interceptions in 17 regular-season contests. Now that his ankle has had time to heal up, the 2022 third-rounder is set to reprise his role as Buffalo's starting middle linebacker, which puts the 24-year-old in a position to remain a viable lineup option in IDP formats this coming season.

Robert Stephenson LAA RP
Angels' Robert Stephenson: Will undergo elbow surgery
9m agoStephenson will undergo surgery on his right elbow, Erica Weston of Bally Sports West reports.
It was reported Wednesday that Stephenson would miss the remainder of the season, so it's not a surprise to hear that he needs surgery. The specific type of surgery hasn't been revealed, and it's possible it won't be until after the procedure occurs. If Stephenson needs Tommy John surgery, he could be out until around midseason of next year.
-
Blaze Alexander ARI SS
Diamondbacks' Blaze Alexander: Heads to bench in series opener
15m agoAlexander is out of the lineup for Thursday's game against the Giants.
Alexander will take a seat for the series opener as the Giants bring ace right-hander Logan Webb to the hill. While the rookie still looks to be the Diamondbacks' preferred option at shortstop while Geraldo Perdomo (knee) is on the shelf, Alexander might have a shorter leash than anticipated while he's experienced some early hiccups defensively. Jace Peterson will cover shortstop Thursday.
-
Rafael Devers BOS 3B
Red Sox's Rafael Devers: MRI reveals bone bruise
19m agoImaging on Devers' left knee revealed a bone bruise Thursday, Gabrielle Starr of the Boston Herald reports.
Manager Alex Cora said Devers will be viewed as day-to-day going forward, and a trip to the injured list isn't expected. Devers was removed from Tuesday's game due to his injury and attempted to play through it Wednesday, but the results of his MRI will presumably keep him out of the lineup for multiple games. Pablo Reyes will start at third base Thursday and will likely continue to do so while the All-Star infielder is sidelined.

Quinn Priester PIT SP
Pirates' Quinn Priester: Expected to start Friday
20m agoPriester is expected to be recalled from Triple-A Indianapolis to start Friday against the Red Sox, Noah Hiles of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports.
Priester is off to a nice start this season with Indianapolis, holding a 3.95 ERA and 20:5 K:BB over 13.2 innings covering three starts. However, he really struggled in 2023 with the Pirates, posting a 7.74 ERA and 36:27 K:BB across 50 frames. It's possible he'll be needed for additional starts while Marco Gonzales (forearm) is out, but fantasy managers might be wise to take a wait-and-see approach with Priester.
-
Colin Poche TB RP
Rays' Colin Poche: Earns second save
37m agoPoche earned the save in Thursday's 2-1 win over Anaheim, working around a pair of hits while striking out one in the ninth inning.
After Pete Fairbanks threw 28 pitches Wednesday, the Rays turned to Poche in the ninth Thursday. The left-hander allowed a pair of base hits but ultimately coaxed a game-ending groundout from Brandon Drury, stranding the tying and go-ahead runs on base. It's the fifth-straight scoreless outing for Poche after he allowed four runs in his first three appearances this year. While Fairbanks and Jason Adam likely remain ahead of Poche in the ninth-inning pecking order, the 30-year-old southpaw could be in the mix for the occasional save going forward depending on matchups.
-
Ryan Pepiot TB SP
Rays' Ryan Pepiot: Sharp in second win
1h agoPepiot (2-2) earned the win against the Angels on Thursday, allowing one run on three hits and three walks over six innings. He struck out seven.
It was a strong bounce-back effort from Pepiot after he allowed five runs in a loss to San Francisco in his last start. The right-hander blanked the Angels through five innings Thursday, ultimately allowing a lone run on a sacrifice fly in the sixth. It's been a mixed bag for Pepiot result-wise through four starts this year, though his underlying metrics are impressive. He lowered his ERA to 4.37 with an encouraging 1.01 WHIP and 27:8 K:BB across 22.2 innings this season.

Duncan Robinson MIA SG
Heat's Duncan Robinson: Probable for Friday
1m agoRobinson (back) is probable for Friday's Play-In Game against the Bulls, Ira Winderman of the South Florida Sun Sentinel reports.
Robinson missed the final four games of the regular season due to his back injury, and although he was available for Wednesday's Play-In Tournament matchup against the 76ers, he didn't see any playing time. It appears likely that he'll be able to suit up again Friday, and he could see some minutes since Jimmy Butler (knee) has been ruled out.
-
Terry Rozier MIA SG
Heat's Terry Rozier: Remains out for Friday
4m agoRozier (neck) has been ruled out for Friday's game against the Bulls.
Rozier, who will miss a sixth straight contest, has been diagnosed with a neck sprain rather than neck spasms, so it seems the injury is more severe than initially expected. The loss of Rozier will be huge for the Heat, and it will translate in a higher usage rate for Tyler Herro, while there will be more minutes available for Patty Mills and possibly Delon Wright.
-
Jimmy Butler MIA SF
Heat's Jimmy Butler: Officially has sprained MCL
4m agoThe Heat announced Thursday that Butler has been diagnosed with a sprained MCL and will miss several weeks, Tim Reynolds of Associated Press reports.
Butler suffered his right knee injury late in the first quarter of Wednesday's Play-In Game loss to the 76ers, but he remained in the game down the stretch despite a limp. However, the injury is significant enough to sideline him for multiple weeks, so even if the Heat take down the Bulls on Friday, it seems unlikely that Butler will be in the mix to return during a first-round series against Boston. Jaime Jaquez will likely take on a starting role in Butler's absence, while Haywood Highsmith and Caleb Martin could also see additional playing time.
-
Garrison Mathews ATL SF
Hawks' Garrison Mathews: Leads bench in scoring
1h agoMathews chipped in eight points (2-4 FG, 2-4 3Pt, 2-3 FT) over 13 minutes during Wednesday's 131-116 Play-In Game loss to Chicago.
Since the All-Star break, the 27-year-old averaged 6.9 points, 1.6 rebounds and 0.7 assists on 45.8 percent from the field, playing valuable minutes during Trae Young's (finger) absence. With the Hawks looking to test the trade market around Young and possibly Dejounte Murray after a disappointing year, the Hawks will have until June 29 to decide whether they want Mathews back next season, which would fully guarantee his contract.
-
De'Andre Hunter ATL SF
Hawks' De'Andre Hunter: Unable to find shot
1h agoHunter posted eight points (3-16 FG, 0-7 3Pt, 2-3 FT), four assists and two rebounds over 42 minutes during Wednesday's 131-116 Play-In Game loss to the Bulls.
Despite struggling with his shot in April, when Hunter averaged 37.0 percent from the field and an abysmal 24.1 percent from deep, this season was fairly successful for the 26-year-old. Hunter was a consistent part of Atlanta's rotation, starting in 38 of his 57 appearances and averaging 15.6 points, 3.9 rebounds and 1.5 assists while shooting a career-high 38.5 percent from deep.
-
Buddy Hield PHI SF
76ers' Buddy Hield: Continues to struggle from deep
1h agoHield notched seven points (3-8 FG, 1-5 3Pt), six assists and one rebound in 18 minutes during Wednesday's 105-104 Play-In Game win over the Heat.
Since Philadelphia acquired Hield on Feb. 8, the sharpshooter has averaged 12.0 points, 3.1 rebounds, 3.1 assists and 0.8 steals in 25.5 minutes on 38.4 percent from deep. Hield has struggled to live up to his usual standards in April, as he's averaged 9.5 points, 3.0 rebounds and 1.9 assists in 19.8 minutes, shooting just 35.2 percent from the field and 34.8 percent from three.
-
Blake Coleman CGY C
Flames' Blake Coleman: Set to return Thursday
9m agoColeman (upper body) is expected to play Thursday against San Jose.
Coleman has 29 goals and 52 points in 77 contests in 2023-24. He missed the Flames' previous four games due to the injury. Now that he's healthy, Coleman is projected to serve on the second line alongside Yegor Sharangovich and Mikael Backlund.
-
Jack St. Ivany PIT D
Penguins' Jack St. Ivany: Reassigned to minors
31m agoSt. Ivany was moved to AHL Wilkes-Barre/Scranton on Thursday.
St. Ivany recorded an assist, two PIM, 30 hits and 14 blocks in 14 contests with Pittsburgh in 2023-24. He also has four goals, 15 points and 30 PIM in 53 games with Wilkes-Barre/Scranton. With Pittsburgh's season over but the minor-league club slated to make the playoffs, this is an opportunity for St. Ivany to get in some extra work.
-
Radim Zohorna PIT LW
Penguins' Radim Zohorna: Returns to AHL
35m agoZohorna was reassigned to AHL Wilkes-Barre/Scranton on Thursday.
Zohorna has concluded the NHL campaign with four goals and seven points in 33 contests. Wilkes-Barre/Scranton is set to advance to the postseason, so the 27-year-old will help the club in that quest. Zohorna has nine goals and 25 points in 29 games with the minor-league squad.
-
Valtteri Puustinen PIT RW
Penguins' Valtteri Puustinen: Heads to minors
37m agoPuustinen was sent to AHL Wilkes-Barre/Scranton on Thursday.
Pittsburgh's season is over, but Wilkes-Barre/Scranton has secured a playoff berth. Puustinen recorded five goals and 20 points in 52 NHL outings this year. He also has five goals and 11 points in 23 appearances with the minor-league club.
-
Reilly Smith PIT RW
Penguins' Reilly Smith: Struggling to score
45m agoSmith managed just one goal in his last 15 games while chipping in six assists.
Brought over from Vegas in the offseason, Smith struggled to reproduce his 2022-23 numbers when he racked up 26 goals and 30 helpers. The lack of productivity, combined with a $5 million cap hit, could see Smith on the trade block during the summer as the fit in Pittsburgh doesn't seem to be working.
-
Rasmus Ristolainen PHI D
Flyers' Rasmus Ristolainen: Underwent surgery
1h agoRistolainen underwent surgery for a ruptured triceps tendon, the team announced Thursday. He is expected to be fine for the start of training camp.
Ristolainen didn't play past Feb. 10 due to the injury. He finished the campaign with a goal, four points, 56 hits and 45 blocks in 31 appearances in 2023-24. Although Ristolainen comes with a $5.1 million cap hit through 2026-27, he might start 2024-25 on the third pairing after averaging just 16:41 of ice time this season.
