Stefon Diggs NE WR
Patriots' Stefon Diggs: Practicing without knee brace
14h agoDiggs (ACL) participated in on-field work in uniform and without a brace on his right knee at Day 3 of OTAs on Thursday, Taylor Kyles of CLNSMedia.com reports.
The Patriots' photo release of OTAs reveals Diggs looking healthy and without any apparent hindrances related to his right knee, in which he suffered a torn right ACL on Oct. 27. While the 31-year-old wideout likely still has some hurdles to overcome in his rehab before being cleared for contact, his ability to get in some on-field work at voluntary OTAs lends further optimism to the notion he'll be a full-go for Week 1. Since signing Diggs to a three-year, $69 million deal in free agency, New England added a speedy vertical threat to the wide receiver room in the form of third-round pick Kyle Williams, plus a capable pass catcher in the backfield in second-rounder TreVeyon Henderson. Those additions don't represent huge threats to Diggs' position as the clear top target for second-year quarterback Drake Maye, health permitting, but Henderson and Williams are explosive options that this offense had otherwise been lacking in that regard with incumbent wideouts DeMario Douglas, Kayshon Boutte, Kendrick Bourne, Mack Hollins, Ja'Lynn Polk (shoulder) and Javon Baker.

Sean Murphy-Bunting ARI CB
Cardinals' Sean Murphy-Bunting: Done for season
1d agoMurphy-Bunting (undisclosed) was placed on the reserve/non-football injury list by the Cardinals on Thursday, Theo Mackie of The Arizona Republic reports.
The type of injury was not disclosed by either Murphy-Bunting or the Cardinals, but the nature of the transaction means that it happened away from team facilities and that the cornerback will miss the 2025 season. Murphy-Bunting started 15 games for the Cardinals in 2024, the first year of a three-year free-agent contract he signed the previous March. Arizona has two other experienced corners, Starling Thomas and Garrett Williams, back from last year as well as 2025 second-round pick Will Johnson.

Jermaine Burton CIN WR
Bengals' Jermaine Burton: Impressing at camp
2d agoHead coach Zac Taylor told reporters Wednesday that Burton has "done a good job" this offseason, Chris Roling of USA Today reports.
Burton, a 2024 third-round pick from Alabama, struggled throughout his rookie campaign, catching just four passes for 107 yards and tallying 378 kick-return yards over 14 games. Additionally, the Bengals had concerns about the 23-year-old's character, as he missed a pregame walkthrough and was involved in other incidents during the 2024 season. However, Taylor seems to be impressed with Burton's progression this offseason. If he can continue to impresses Cincinnati's staff this summer, Burton could serve as the team's No. 3 wide receiver in 2025.

Maxx Crosby LV DE
Raiders' Maxx Crosby: Past ankle issue
2d agoCrosby (ankle) was a full participant in Wednesday's practice, Tashan Reed of The Athletic reports.
Crosby missed the final five games of the Raiders' 2024 campaign due to an ankle injury, but his full practice participation Wednesday suggests he's already moved past the issue. The Eastern Michigan product inked a three-year, $106.5 million extension to keep him in Las Vegas in early March after posting 59.5 sacks across six seasons with the team. Now back to full health, Crosby is expected to remain one of the NFL's top defensive playmakers in 2025.
-
Aidan Hutchinson DET DE
Lions' Aidan Hutchinson: Back to full health
2d agoHutchinson (leg) told reporters Thursday that he's fully cleared to return, Eric Woodyard of ESPN.com reports.
Hutchinson was the frontrunner for Defensive Player of the Year before sustaining a season-ending leg injury in the Lions' Week 6 win over the Cowboys in 2024. However, he now appears to be completely past the issue. Over the Michigan product's first three years in the NFL, he appeared in 39 regular-season games and recorded 132 total tackles, including 28.5 sacks, 10 passes defended, with four interceptions, and four forced fumbles. Now back to full health, Hutchinson is expected to continue wreaking havoc on opposing quarterbacks in 2025.

Brian Burns NYG LB
Giants' Brian Burns: Contract restructured
2d agoThe Giants converted $10 million of Burns' base salary into a signing bonus Thursday, Field Yates of ESPN reports.
According to Yates, the Giants signed 2025 third-overall pick Abdul Carter on Thursday and converted part of Burns' salary into a signing bonus to stay under the salary cap. The 2019 first-round pick made an impact in his first year with the Giants, recording 71 total tackles, including 8.5 sacks, and eight passes defended over 17 regular-season contests. He's now expected to be a part of one of the NFL's top pass-rush duos in 2025, starting opposite Carter.

Nick Kurtz ATH 1B
Athletics' Nick Kurtz: Homers again Friday
1h agoKurtz went 1-for-3 with a three-run home run and a walk in Friday's 4-3 loss to the Phillies.
Kurtz made things interesting in this contest, as he got the Athletics within a run after taking Jordan Romano deep in the ninth inning. This was Kurtz's fourth homer over the last four games, a span in which he has gone 5-for-14 with eight RBI and three walks. The first baseman is up to .231/.291/.440 slash line, five homers, 14 RBI, 10 runs scored and no stolen bases over 103 plate appearances. He looks to be past a slump from the middle of the month, and the power that has helped him take the fast track to the majors hasn't taken long to show up at baseball's highest level.

Jacob Lopez ATH RP
Athletics' Jacob Lopez: Unlucky loss Friday
1h agoLopez (0-2) allowed a run on three hits and a walk while striking out eight over seven innings, taking the loss versus the Phillies on Friday.
Lopez deserved better, but he gave up the only run of the first seven innings of the game, a Trea Turner solo shot four pitches in. The Phillies tacked on three more runs in the ninth, and the Athletics' comeback push came up one run short, leaving Lopez with a hard-luck loss. This was his second start and fifth appearance of the season, and he threw 58 of 91 pitches for strikes in an impressive showing against a tough opponent. He has a 2.57 ERA despite a 1.57 WHIP and 17:8 K:BB through 14 innings in the majors this season. Lopez has a chance to make a positive impression while J.T. Ginn (quadriceps) is on the 15-day injured list. Lopez will look to repeat his performance from this start in his next outing, tentatively scheduled to be on the road in Toronto.
-
Johan Rojas PHI CF
Phillies' Johan Rojas: Records steal in win
1h agoRojas went 1-for-4 with one RBI, one stolen base and one run scored in Friday's 4-3 win over the Athletics.
Rojas remains in a part-time role, but he has struggled at the plate lately. He's just 2-for-19 with a 2:6 BB:K and two steals over his last nine games while pushing for playing time in center field. Rojas has always had more speed than power, which makes him more effective off the bench at times. He's batting .258 with one home run, 12 RBI, 15 runs scored and seven thefts across 101 plate appearances, mostly as a short-side platoon option.

Robert Stephenson LAA RP
Angels' Robert Stephenson: Rehab stint bumped up to Triple-A
1h agoStephenson (elbow) had his minor-league rehab assignment moved up to Triple-A Salt Lake on Tuesday, Jeff Fletcher of The Orange County Register reports.
Stephenson pitched in two games with Single-A Inland Empire prior to being bumped up to Salt Lake. He's gotten into two contests in Triple-A so far, allowing a run on two hits while striking out two batters and walking none over two innings. The righty reliever underwent UCL repair surgery in May of last year, and he appears on the brink of a return to the majors. If all goes well moving forward, Stephenson could join the Angels bullpen as soon as early June.

Trea Turner PHI SS
Phillies' Trea Turner: Fills box score in win
1h agoTurner went 3-for-5 with a solo home run, an additional RBI and a stolen base in Friday's 4-3 win over the Athletics.
Turner took the fourth pitch of the game 426 feet to center field off Jacob Lopez. Turner also added an RBI single that ended up being a vital insurance run in the ninth inning. He's logged multiple hits in four of the last five games while swiping a bag in three straight contests. The shortstop is up to a .310/.364/.433 slash line with four homers, 20 RBI, 34 runs scored, 13 steals, nine doubles and two triples across 49 games this season.
-
Tanner Banks PHI RP
Phillies' Tanner Banks: Snags rare save
1h agoBanks struck out the only batter he faced to earn the save in Friday's 4-3 win over the Athletics.
The Phillies grew their lead from 1-0 to 4-0 in the ninth inning, taking a save situation off the board for Jordan Romano, who entered the game anyway in the bottom of the ninth. He struggled, allowing a three-run home run to Nick Kurtz, and Banks entered after that, striking out Luis Urias to avoid an epic collapse. This was Banks' fourth career save and his first this season. He's mostly pitched in a middle-relief role, compiling a 3.91 ERA, 0.91 WHIP and 26:5 K:BB over 23 innings. While he was successful Friday, Banks is unlikely to challenge Romano for the closer role, while Matt Strahm and Orion Kerkering have been the Phillies' primary setup options.

Mitchell Robinson NY C
Knicks' Mitchell Robinson: Logs postseason-high 29 minutes
30m agoRobinson had six points (2-3 FG, 2-4 FT), nine rebounds and three blocks in 29 minutes during Friday's 114-109 loss to the Pacers in Game 2 of the Eastern Conference Finals.
Robinson continues to play a key role for the Knicks, playing at least 29 minutes for just the second time all season. With Karl-Anthony Towns struggling on the defensive end, Robinson has seen an uptick in playing time, logging at least 20 minutes in six of the past eight games. New York will need more from its core players, now trailing 2-0 with the series shifting to Indiana for games 3 and 4.
-
Josh Hart NY SF
Knicks' Josh Hart: Sub-par effort in Game 2 loss
33m agoHart finished with six points (2-3 FG, 2-2 FT), six rebounds, one assist, one block and one steal over 28 minutes during Friday's 114-109 loss to Indiana in Game 2 of the Eastern Conference Finals.
Hart was poor in the loss, putting up arguably his worst game of the playoffs. Although his scoring cannot always be relied upon, his peripheral numbers typically make up for any offensive slip-ups. However, that was not the case on this occasion, reflected by the fact he only logged 28 minutes. Hart will look to turn things around in Game 3, slated for Sunday in Indiana.
-
Karl-Anthony Towns NY C
Knicks' Karl-Anthony Towns: Only 28 minutes in loss Friday
36m agoTowns finished Friday's 114-109 loss to the Pacers in Game 2 of the Eastern Conference Finals with 20 points (6-14 FG, 2-5 3Pt, 6-6 FT) and seven rebounds across 28 minutes.
Towns played just 28 minutes in the loss, the fewest he has played thus far in the playoffs. Meanwhile, Mitchell Robinson played a postseason-high 29 minutes, with head coach Tom Thibodeau leaning into Robinson's defensive upside. Although Towns should be able to bounce back, his defensive shortcomings are proving to be an issue against the Pacers. New York will now head to Indiana for games 3 and 4, both of which could be viewed as must-win situations.
-
Andrew Nembhard IND PG
Pacers' Andrew Nembhard: Efficient performance Friday
39m agoNembhard finished with 12 points (5-8 FG, 2-2 3Pt), three rebounds, two assists and one steal over 37 minutes during Friday's 114-109 victory over New York in Game 2 of the Eastern Conference Finals.
Nembhard continues to play his role to perfection, tallying double-digits for the eighth time in the past nine games. He has shot at least 60 percent from the floor in each of the past three games, landing multiple key shots toward the backend of games. The Pacers now lead the Eastern Conference Finals 2-0 and will head back to Indiana for games 3 and 4. A pair of victories would mean a trip to the NBA Finals for just the second time in the teams' history.
-
T.J. McConnell IND PG
Pacers' T.J. McConnell: Key minutes in Game 2 victory
1h agoMcConnell recorded 10 points (5-8 FG, 0-2 3Pt), two rebounds and four assists over 14 minutes during Friday's 114-109 victory over the Knicks in Game 2 of the Eastern Conference Finals.
McConnell scored double-digits for the second straight game and for the fourth time in the past five games. Despite continuing to play a modest role, McConnell's contributions have been important in the context of the series. The Pacers have the ability to run a deeper rotation than the Knicks, of which McConnell is a valuable piece. Indiana will now head home for games 3 and 4, with an opportunity to wrap up the series with two more victories.
-
Jalen Brunson NY PG
Knicks' Jalen Brunson: Elite stat line not enough Friday
4h agoBrunson finished with 36 points (13-27 FG, 5-12 3Pt, 5-5 FT), three rebounds, 11 assists and one steal across 39 minutes during Friday's 114-109 loss to the Pacers in Game 2 of the Eastern Conference Finals.
Brunson has surpassed the 35-point mark in his two outings in the series, but the Knicks are facing a 0-2 deficit ahead of two pivotal contests in Indiana in the coming days. The Knicks need Brunson to be at his best if they're going to mount a comeback, and so far, the team's supporting cast has struggled to perform. Brunson posted 43 points in Game 1.
-
Jake Walman EDM D
Oilers' Jake Walman: Garners assist Friday
4h agoWalman logged an assist, three shots on goal, three blocked shots and two hits in Friday's 3-0 win over the Stars in Game 2.
Walman has yet to earn more than one point in any playoff round. He's playing in the a third-pairing role for the Oilers, who haven't had to lean on him as much because John Klingberg has been a good fit since entering the lineup. Walman now has a goal, two assists, a plus-12 rating, 22 shots on net, 18 hits, 33 blocked shots and six PIM through 13 playoff contests.
-
Leon Draisaitl EDM C

The 29-year-old Draisaitl has five points over his last three games, and two of his four points in the Western Conference Finals have come on the power play. He's opened the Western Conference Finals with a goal and two assists over two contests as he continues to play a leading role on the Oilers' blue line. Overall, he's racked up five goals, 10 assists, 31 shots on net, 18 blocked shots and a plus-4 rating this postseason.
-
Brett Kulak EDM D
Oilers' Brett Kulak: Finds twine in win
4h agoKulak scored a goal in Friday's 3-0 win over the Stars in Game 2.
Kulak got a second chance on a rush play and buried the goal to put the Oilers ahead 2-0 at 15:23 of the second period. This snapped a six-game point drought for the defenseman. He's seeing top-four minutes at this stage of the playoffs, though his role could be reduced if Mattias Ekholm (undisclosed) is able to return during the Western Conference Finals. Kulak has a three points, a plus-5 rating, 15 shots on net, 10 hits and 23 blocked shots over 13 playoffs appearances.
-
Connor Brown EDM C
Oilers' Connor Brown: Buries goal Friday
4h agoBrown scored a goal on two shots in Friday's 3-0 win over the Stars in Game 3.
Brown has been missing practices while managing some sort of issue, but it hasn't kept him off the ice yet. This goal was his first since Game 1 of the second round, a span of five contests in which he had just one assist. The 31-year-old winger is at five goals, three helpers, 21 shots on net, 11 hits, eight blocked shots and a plus-4 rating over 13 playoff outings. He continues to fill a middle-six role while offering some defensive upside.
