Jean-Charles was not tendered by New Orleans as a restricted free agent, but he will return to the team nonetheless. After spending his first two seasons in Green Bay, the 25-year-old suited up for eight games between the 49ers and Saints in 2023. He accumulated four tackles (three solo) in the process. The Appalachian State product will now look to make an impression during offseason workouts.

16h agoThe Packers re-signed Wilson on Monday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.
An undrafted rookie in 2023, Wilson made the Packers' initial 53-man roster following the preseason and even mixed into seven regular-season games, taking 14 carries for 85 yards and hauling in four of five targets for 23 yards while working behind Aaron Jones and AJ Dillon. Green Bay swapped out Jones for Josh Jacobs and also retained Dillon this offseason, meaning Wilson is poised for a similar role in the coming campaign, barring potential additions to the backfield in free agency or the draft.

McCloud finished his 2023 campaign on the sidelines after getting injured in the team's season finale against the Eagles. Healthy now, the Notre Dame product can focus on being ready for a third campaign in New York after signing his free-agent tender.

16h agoCrosby (knee) said, "I'm feeling better than I ever have," Monday, after he spent much of 2023 fighting through a knee injury that required draining multiple times a week, Nick Shook of NFL.com reports.
Crosby set career highs in combined tackles (90) and sacks (14.5) last season despite spending much of the campaign hampered by a bursa joint issue. The 26-year-old underwent a procedure to correct it in January after the season ended and began rehabbing it soon after, which went "incredible," according to Crosby.

17h agoCoach Andy Reid indicated Monday that Rice is expected to remotely participate in the initial stage of the Chiefs' voluntary offseason program via virtual meetings, NFL.com reports.
Per Adam Teicher of ESPN.com, Rice -- who is is facing one count of aggravated assault, one count of collision involving serious bodily injury and six counts of collision involving injury stemming from his involvement in a car crash in Dallas last month -- turned himself in to police last week and was subsequently released on bond. According to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network, the league has been closely monitoring developments related to the incident, while Reid noted that it remains to be seen whether the wideout will participate later in the spring when the team's offseason program moves to Kansas City. "I want to keep gathering the information from the law enforcement people,'" Reid said Monday. "We'll just see where everything goes from there (and) let the process take place."

Forbes missed all of 2023 due to a back injury suffered during training camp. It's unclear what the injury is specifically or how close he could be to being healthy enough to compete. Either way, the 27-year-old will now be a free agent until he is at least fully recovered.

Getting the start at shortstop and batting ninth, the veteran utility player saw his first plate appearances of the season and recorded his first hit. Atlanta manager Brian Snitker doesn't tend to give his starters many rest days, so Guillorme's playing time figures to be limited all season, but he could see additional action this week after Ozzie Albies (toe) was seen limping in the locker room after Monday's contest.

Busch's leadoff blast off Merrill Kelly in the top of the sixth inning extended his home-run streak to five games, tying four other Cubs players for the longest streak in franchise history. Notably, all five of Busch's home runs during the streak have come at road venues, which offers hope that the rookie's power surge can continue once the weather warms up at Wrigley Field, which has been a fertile hitting environment for left-handed batters in recent years. Managers that took a chance on Busch in the later rounds of drafts are relishing in the early returns, as he's provided a .327 average, six home runs, 12 RBI and nine runs through 16 games.

5m agoBummer (1-1) was credited with the win Monday against the Astros, giving up one hit in a scoreless two-thirds of an inning.
The left-hander got the final out of the fifth inning after relieving Darius Vines, and the official scorer elected to give Bummer the win. It's the earliest in a game he's pitched so far this season, but Bummer has been deployed anywhere from the fifth to the ninth inning as a utility arm in the Atlanta bullpen. Through six innings and seven appearances, he's posted a 4.50 ERA, 1.67 WHIP and 5:2 K:BB with zero holds or saves.

The 28-year-old has also shown improved command of the strike zone with a 5:8 BB:K. Martinez fell short in his bid for a spot on the Opening Day roster, but he looks more than ready to step in should an injury hit the Atlanta outfield.

Sarr was involved in a collision while pursuing a rebound, and he ultimately needed to be carried to the locker room. His return to Monday's clash seems unlikely given the circumstances in which he exited.

Golden State will be traveling to Sacramento for Tuesday's showdown, returning to the scene of the crime where Curry dropped 50 points (20-38 FG, 7-18 3Pt) in a victorious Game 7 of last year's first-round series between these teams. Additionally, Curry averaged 31.0 points, 6.3 rebounds and 4.8 assists in four games against the Kings this season.

Wood has been sidelined since undergoing an arthroscopic procedure on his left knee in March, and he'll remain sidelined as the Lakers begin postseason play Tuesday. It's unclear if he'll be available at any point if the team advances in the postseason.

Vanderbilt's defensive efforts were a key part of the Lakers' run to the Western Conference Finals last season. Vanderbilt hasn't played since Feb. 1, so his continued absence shouldn't impact coach Darvin Ham's rotation.

Montembeault likely has played his final game of the season with the Habs back in action versus Detroit at home Tuesday. The netminder needed just one more win to top the 16 he put up last season, but instead finishes the year tied with that number again. Looking ahead to next season, the 27-year-old Montembeault should enter the campaign as the presumptive No. 1, though Cayden Primeau could challenge for more opportunities.

Varlamov was sharp again Monday, holding New Jersey to a lone Timo Meier goal in the second period en route to a playoff-clinching win for the Islanders. The 35-year-old Varlamov has started four of New York's last five games while going 7-1-0 with a stellar .935 save percentage over his last eight outings. He'll carry a 14-8-4 record with a .917 save percentage and 2.60 GAA into Wednesday's regular-season finale against the Penguins.

27m agoNosek managed just one shot and a minus-two rating in Monday's season finale against the Islanders.
Nosek returned from an undisclosed injury to play in the 82nd campaign of the year. Injuries limited the 31-year-old winger to just 36 games this season in which he notched two goals on 38 shots, four assists and 33 hits. The Czech native will be an unrestricted free agent this offseason but may not have stayed healthy enough to convince the Devils to keep him around for another year.

Rousek will finish his 2023-24 campaign in the minors with the Americans, who have already secured their spot in the Calder Cup playoffs. With the Sabres this season, the 24-year-old winger failed to find the back of the net in 15 appearances while registering just two assists, four shots and five hits. Looking ahead to next season, Rousek will likely see more game action but fantasy players probably should still expect him to spend some time in the minors again.

Fiala set up Blake Lizotte on the Kings' lone tally of the game. With five goals and three assists over eight contests since the start of April, Fiala has done his part to keep the Kings' offense strong and balanced. The winger is up to 73 points, surpassing his total from last season, while adding 220 shots on net, 66 hits, 62 PIM and a plus-2 rating over 81 appearances this year.

Lizotte scored for the first time since March 25 -- he had just two assists over the nine games in between goals. The 26-year-old forward is up to 15 points, 75 shots on net, 63 hits and a plus-12 rating over 61 appearances this season. He remains in a bottom-six role, providing a bit of grit and defensive value with limited offense.
