Mario Edwards SEA DE
Mario Edwards: Visits Houston
5h agoEdwards (knee) had a visit with the Texans on Monday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.
Edwards missed the final game of the 2023 season due to a knee injury. His visit in Houston indicates he has put that injury behind him. The journeyman recorded 21 tackles (15 solo), one pass defensed and one forced fumble across 15 games for Seattle last season. He is now looking for a new opportunity.

Chase Young SF DE
Saints' Chase Young: Officially joins New Orleans
6h agoThe Saints and Young agreed to a contract Monday.
According to Katherine Terrell of ESPN.com, Young's new deal will be for one year. The No. 2 overall pick in the 2020 Draft, Young earned Defensive Rookie of the Year honors to kick off his career, but his next two seasons were derailed by injuries, and he split 2023 between the Commanders and 49ers. With 16.5 sacks in 43 games in his first four campaigns, he'll be a part of a New Orleans pass rush that features Cameron Jordan and Carl Granderson.
-
Joshua Dobbs MIN QB
49ers' Joshua Dobbs: Finds work in San Francisco
7h agoThe 49ers and Dobbs agreed to a contract Monday, Mike Garafolo of NFL Network reports.
In 13 games (12 starts) between the Cardinals and Vikings this past season, Dobbs completed 262 of 417 (62.8 percent) of his passes for 2,464 yards, 13 touchdowns and 10 interceptions. He also was viable as a runner, averaging 5.5 yards on his 77 carries while scoring six TDs on the ground. Brock Purdy is the unquestioned starting quarterback for San Francisco, but Dobbs' recent on-field work should give him a leg up on the backup job ahead of holdover Brandon Allen.

Rico Dowdle DAL RB
Cowboys' Rico Dowdle: Remaining with Dallas
7h agoDowdle is set to re-sign with the Cowboys, Jon Machota of The Athletic reports.
Following the free-agent departure of Tony Pollard, Dowdle is poised to reclaim his role in a Dallas backfield that also currently includes Deuce Vaughn, Malik Davis and Snoop Conner. Chances are, the Cowboys will add further RB depth via free agency or the draft, so until the team's personnel at the position is settled, Dowdle's fantasy upside for the 2024 season will be difficult to gauge.
-
Alexander Mattison MIN RB
Raiders' Alexander Mattison: Set to join Las Vegas backfield
7h agoMattison is in line to sign with the Raiders, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports.
In 16 games for the Vikings during the 2023 regular season, Mattison had 180 carries for 700 yards and caught 30 of his 44 targets for 192 yards and three receiving TDs. With the Raiders, Mattison -- who turns 26 in June -- is slated to provide the team with needed backfield depth and a complementary option alongside 2022 fourth-rounder Zamir White following the free-agent departure of Josh Jacobs. Assuming White serves as Las Vegas' top RB option, Mattison's weekly upside will be modest, but if White is injured or struggles at all as the 2024 season progresses, Mattison could reenter the fantasy lineup equation.

Chase Young SF DE
Chase Young: Looks set to sign with New Orleans
8h agoYoung is expected to sign a contract with the Saints after visiting with the team Monday, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
Young, the No. 2 overall pick of the 2020 NFL Draft and former Defensive Rookie of the Year, was acquired by the 49ers prior to last season's trade deadline. He tallied 2.5 sacks across nine regular-season games with San Francisco but was allowed to walk in free agency, where it looks like he'll get a fresh start in New Orleans. Young looks to finally be back in top form after knee issues significantly hampered him in 2021 and 2022, and it would be an ideal situation for him to pair with (and learn from) veteran defensive end Cameron Jordan with the Saints.

Angel Felipe OAK RP
Angel Felipe: Hits open market
24m agoThe Athletics released Felipe (elbow) on Monday.
Felipe was designated for assignment Saturday and will now become a free agent after failing to draw any interest on waivers. He's already been ruled out for the entire 2024 season after undergoing Tommy John surgery Friday.
-
John Brebbia CHW RP
White Sox's John Brebbia: Works one inning
34m agoBrebbia (calf) threw one inning in a minor-league game Monday, Daryl Van Schouwen of the Chicago Sun-Times reports.
Brebbia is working his way back from a calf injury and had a successful return to game action. He remained non-committal about his status for Opening Day, noting that he typically needs eight-to-10 innings in the exhibition season to get properly stretched out. Monday's outing marked his first game action of the spring, meaning he may need to start the regular season on the injured list.
-
Henry Davis PIT RF
Pirates' Henry Davis: Drawing praise for defensive work
45m agoDavis has impressed some in the Pirates pitching staff with his defensive work this spring, Jason Mackey of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports.
Davis entered spring training with an uncertain fit on the big-league roster, primarily due to concern about his defensive ability behind the plate. However, he's drawn praise from both Mitch Keller and Jared Jones in recent days, and he also effectively blocked a pitch that was bounced by Martin Perez in Monday's game against the Phillies. Aiding Davis's cause is Yasmani Grandal's (foot) absence, a combination that seems likely to land him on the roster and in the lineup on Opening Day.
-
Martin Perez PIT SP
Pirates' Martin Perez: Locked into rotation spot
1h agoPerez has allowed one earned run across 12 innings with a 13:4 K:BB in Grapefruit League action.
There are a couple of vacancies in the back of the Pirates' rotation, but Perez will be locked in as a starter to begin the regular season. He built up to five innings in an outing against the Philies on Monday, racking up eight strikeouts against two walks without allowing a run. Despite the strong form, there should be some skepticism about Perez's performance, as he's posted an ERA above 4.40 in six of his last seven campaigns.
-
Brandon Bielak HOU SP
Astros' Brandon Bielak: Likely to make big-league club
1h agoBielak is likely to make the big-league roster out of spring training due to a combination of injuries to the Astros pitching staff, and because he is out of minor-league options, Brian McTaggart of MLB.com reports.
Bielak hasn't pitched well this spring, allowing six earned runs across 7.1 innings while maintaining just a 5:4 K:BB. However, with both Justin Verlander (shoulder) and Jose Urquidy (forearm) destined for the injured list to begin the campaign, the Astros are in need of pitching depth. As things currently stand, Bielak is expected to serve in a relief role, with Ronel Blanco serving as the fifth starter.
-
Forrest Wall ATL LF
Braves' Forrest Wall: Appears in line to make roster
1h agoWall is now expected to begin the season in the majors, Mark Bowman of MLB.com reports.
With the caveat that Atlanta could still add a player over the next week, Wall now appears in line to break camp with a reserve role after the team reassigned Luke Williams, David Fletcher and Eli White among others Monday afternoon. Wall has just one hit in his last five spring games, but he launched three homers early on in camp. The 28-year-old can back up all three outfield positions.
-
Payton Pritchard BOS PG
Celtics' Payton Pritchard: Booms for 23 points
4m agoPritchard totaled 23 points (8-14 FG, 5-9 3Pt, 2-2 FT), two rebounds and seven assists in 38 minutes during Monday's 119-94 win over Detroit.
Pritchard entered Monday's contest averaging just 7.5 points across six contests in which Jrue Holiday (shoulder) has been unavailable this season, but Detroit offered a prime matchup to capitalize on the extra usage available -- especially since Jayson Tatum (ankle) was also inactive. Pritchard continued his trend of being a dangerous shooter at home this season, where he's connecting on 41.8 percent of 4.4 threes per game.
-
Anthony Davis LAL C
Lakers' Anthony Davis: Posts double-double in rout
6m agoDavis provided 22 points (10-14 FG, 1-2 3Pt, 1-2 FT), 15 rebounds, six assists, one block and two steals across 31 minutes during Monday's 136-105 victory over the Hawks.
Davis exited early due to a corneal abrasion in Saturday's loss to Golden State, but the big man was able to recover in time to suit up two days later. Davis didn't seem to be affected by the eye injury, as he went a sharp 10-for-14 from the field while notching his 54th double-double of the campaign, which is third-most in the NBA. Among the best news this season for Davis' fantasy managers is that he's been able to avoid serious injuries, as he's missed just four games all season and has taken the court in each of the Lakers' past 19 contests. His 65 games played overall this season is already his highest total since 2017-18.
-
Derrick White BOS SG
Celtics' Derrick White: Earns first career triple-double
14m agoWhite closed Monday's 119-94 win over the Pistons with 22 points (8-20 FG, 6-12 3Pt), 10 rebounds, 10 assists, one block and two steals over 37 minutes. He also had three turnovers.
White bombed away Monday, leading to his 13th game with at least five made threes through 63 appearances this year. White's versatile production came while Jayson Tatum (ankle) and Jrue Holiday (shoulder) were inactive Monday, but he's kicked into another gear over his last five games, averaging 16.0 points, 7.0 rebounds and 6.4 assists while attempting 14.4 shots a night.
-
Malachi Flynn DET PG
Pistons' Malachi Flynn: Scores 11 in shorthanded backcourt
26m agoFlynn posted 11 points (3-8 FG, 2-5 3Pt, 3-4 FT), two rebounds, one assist and two steals in 18 minutes during Monday's 119-94 loss to the Celtics.
Flynn set a new personal high for his Detroit tenure with 18 minutes of action Monday, although the 25-year-old has been an inconsistent part of the rotation of late, picking up five healthy scratches across Detroit's last eight games. Flynn could once again be subtracted from the rotation if Cade Cunningham (knee) is able to return Wednesday versus Indiana.
-
James Wiseman DET C
Pistons' James Wiseman: Flashes versatility Monday
30m agoWiseman ended with 12 points (4-10 FG, 4-4 FT), five rebounds, three assists, two blocks and one steal across 26 minutes during Monday's 119-94 loss to Boston.
Wiseman's offensive output wasn't overly impressive, but Monday marked his fourth game of the season with at least three assists, while also representing his fifth game with at least three steals-plus-blocks. The 22-year-old has plenty of time and tools to continue developing as a player, but hitting the aforementioned thresholds isn't a high bar, which is a factor in his limited fantasy appeal.
-
Jaden Ivey DET SG
Pistons' Jaden Ivey: Shoulders offense in loss
39m agoIvey ended with 21 points (10-19 FG, 1-4 3Pt), five rebounds, five assists and one block across 29 minutes during Monday's 119-94 loss to Boston.
Ivey was the only Piston to exceed 12 points Monday, and he did so effectively despite continuing to struggle from beyond the arc. Overall, Ivey's dribble jumper has been a respectable component of his offense this season, yielding a 35.9 percent clip that ranks in the 48th percentile among all players.

Jordan Greenway BUF LW
Sabres' Jordan Greenway: Produces assist in win
4m agoGreenway logged an assist, two hits and a plus-2 rating in Monday's 6-2 win over the Kraken.
Greenway's goal drought is now at 13 games, but he has three helpers over his last four contests. The 27-year-old winger has bounced around the lineup at times, but he's been firmly in a top-six role for most of the campaign. He's produced 24 points, 86 shots on net, 115 hits, 53 blocked shots, 41 PIM and a plus-9 rating over 56 appearances.
-
John-Jason Peterka BUF RW
Sabres' John-Jason Peterka: Chips in with assist
7m agoPeterka logged an assist and two shots on goal in Monday's 6-2 win over the Kraken.
Peterka took a shot that deflected off multiple players and a post before Owen Power knocked in a rebound from the left side of the net. This was Peterka's third point in the last four games. The winger is up to 21 goals, 20 assists, 180 shots on net and a plus-6 rating through 69 appearances this season while mainly playing in a middle-six role.
-
Zemgus Girgensons BUF LW
Sabres' Zemgus Girgensons: Provides pair of helpers
9m agoGirgensons notched two assists, three hits, two blocked shots, two PIM and a plus-2 rating in Monday's 6-2 win over the Kraken.
Girgensons earned his first multi-point effort of the season by assisting on goals from Tage Thompson and Alex Tuch in the first period. In recent games, Girgensons has held down a top-line role at even strength. It's paying off -- he has six points over nine outings in March, accounting for half of his offense through 51 contests overall. The 30-year-old forward has added 63 shots on net, 118 hits, 21 PIM and a plus-5 rating.
-
Owen Power BUF D
Sabres' Owen Power: Scores in Monday's win
12m agoPower scored a goal on two shots, blocked five shots and went plus-2 in Monday's 6-2 win over the Kraken.
A John-Jason Peterka shot pinged off the post after multiple deflections, and Power was there to pot the rebound midway through the second period. The 21-year-old Power has three goals and four assists over nine outings in March. The arrival of Bowen Byram via trade has cut into Power's playing time a bit, but the Sabres have found room for all three of their strong young defensemen. Power has six goals, 27 points, 90 shots on net, 95 blocked shots and a plus-3 rating over 63 contests this season.
-
Alex Tuch BUF RW
Sabres' Alex Tuch: Earns two points in win
16m agoTuch scored a goal on two shots, dished an assist, added two PIM and went plus-2 in Monday's 6-2 win over the Kraken.
Tuch is picking up the pace on offense again with four points over his last four games. This was his first multi-point effort since Feb. 13 versus the Kings. The winger is up to 19 goals, 44 points, 156 shots on net, 65 blocked shots, 57 hits, 36 PIM and a plus-1 rating through 62 appearances in a top-line role.
-
Tage Thompson BUF C
Sabres' Tage Thompson: One of each Monday
18m agoThompson scored a goal on five shots, added an assist, went plus-2 and logged three hits in Monday's 6-2 win over the Kraken.
Thompson has three goals and three helpers over his last five outings since a one-game absence with an upper-body injury. He tied the game at 1-1 just 49 seconds into the first period and set up Alex Tuch later in the frame for what ended up being the game-winner. Thompson is up to 21 tallies, 41 points, 207 shots on net, 60 hits and a minus-9 rating through 58 appearances. He'll fall well short of his last two campaigns, but his top-line role continues to make him an interesting option in fantasy.
