Dr. Roto offers the top players to target on the waiver wire as we approach Week 2 of the Fantasy Football season!

Daily Dr. Roto — September 14, 2016

Waiver Wire Wednesday

Joe Flacco — Flacco looked pretty good against the Bills in Week 1, and I think better days are on the horizon for him. His WRs are starting to get healthy and his favorite security blanket, Dennis Pitta, is active.

Brock Osweiler — The Texans don’t look crazy for spending all that free agent money anymore, do they? Brock is the real deal, and he should be owned in all leagues.

Josh McCown — As much as I liked RG3’s upside, McCown should never have been replaced as starting QB by the Browns. The truth was that he looked terrific at times last year. Gary Barnidge looked irrelevant last week without McCown. Watch for Barnidge and Duke Johnson to step up this week.

Carson Wentz — The Eagles look like geniuses by getting rid of Bradford to start Wentz — and I love him too!  He is confident in his arm and plays with poise which is unusual for a rookie. He can run too, although we didn’t see it last week.

Alex Smith — Smith looked sensational in the second half comeback last week against San Diego. He won’t throw for 300+ yards often, but he won’t kill you either if you are desperate for a QB.

Running Backs

Tevin Coleman — I was blown away by how good Coleman looked last week. He might be this year’s Devonta Freeman.

Theo Riddick — I tried to get Riddick in all my leagues and for the most part, I achieved my goal. He is a beast in PPR formats and looked well worth the contract he signed recently.

James White — My hunch says that Dion Lewis will be out for the year. If so, White becomes a must-own player.

Travaris Cadet — The Saints finally parted ways with C.J. Spiller on Tuesday leaving Cadet as their only third-down RB. He scored last week and will have a decent sized role in the offense. I think he is a must own in PPR formats.

Jalen Richard — Man, he looked fast blowing through the Saints defense last week on that TD run. I am not sure how many times he will do that all year, BUT if Latavius Murray gets injured, I want all the shares of this guy that I can find.

Wide Receivers

Will Fuller — After Week 1, I almost adopted him as a Roto Child. Arguably the fastest guy on the field, I think Fuller can make a huge impact this season. Get him ASAP if he is out there on waivers.

Tyrell Williams — Keenan Allen Roto’s torn ACL should open the door for Tyrell Williams to become a starter. I am not sure he is a talented player, but he does have a role on a good offense with a QB who likes to wing it downfield.

Chris Hogan — Just wait, he will get better and better as the season goes on.

Victor Cruz — He found the end zone and his salsa dance too. He won’t be the old Cruz, but I think that 900 yards and 7 TDs are a good possibility if he can stay healthy.

Jeremy Kerley — Blaine Gabbert seems to like throwing to him. Kerley is a strong route runner who should accumulate tons of receptions playing the slot in Chip Kelly’s offense.

Quinton Patton — All the sharks in Las Vegas were on Patton. That tells me to buy him right now.

Tight Ends

Eric Ebron — His ankle injury scared people away, but he could be the breakout TE of 2016.

Virgil Green — Gary Kubiak’s conservative offense will find Green about four or five targets per week.
