Tom Brady’s four-game “Deflategate” suspension has ended and he has rejoined the New England Patriots. Jacoby Brissett has been placed on injured reserve after undergoing thumb surgery on Friday … Cam Newton suffered a concussion Week 4 and may be forced to sit out the Carolina Panthers’ Monday Night Football matchup with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers … Carson Palmer when down with a concussion last week and was forced to miss the Arizona Cardinals Thursday Night Football game against the San Francisco 49ers. Drew Stanton got the start, and the Cards got the win … Trevor Siemian was carted off last week after suffering a sprained AC joint in his non-throwing shoulder. His shoulder has been very sore all week, and his availability for Sunday’s game is very much in question. Denver Broncos head coach Gary Kubiak expects him to be a game-time decision. "He did a little bit more, took more reps in practice, and we’ll continue to see how he comes out of it," Kubiak said. "We got 48 hours here, so we’ll see how he comes out of it, how he’s feeling." Paxton Lynch played well in relief of Siemian and will get the start Sunday once again if necessary.

Bucs head coach Dirk Koetter stated that he is “very concerned” with Jameis Winston’s play of late. "He's not regressing, but we've got to take care of the football," Koetter said. "We can't turn it over three times in a half. We just can't do that." … The Cleveland Browns still aren’t sure if Robert Griffin III’s shoulder injury will require surgery. Josh McCown is still not ready to return and has been ruled out for Week 5 … Chicago Bears head coach John Fox suggests that Brian Hoyer may hold on to the team’s starting job even once Jay Cutler is healthy. "Anybody's that performing well, I don't think we're going to be likely to change," Fox said.


New York Jets head coach Todd Bowles insists he’s not considering benching Ryan Fitzpatrick who has thrown nine interceptions the past two weeks. "I don't foresee any changes right now. Ryan is fine," Bowles said. "He gives us our best chance to win." … Joe Flacco is frustrated by the lack of deep passing plays in the Baltimore Ravens offense. "We just make it so tough on ourselves," Flacco said. "We throw the ball 50 times, and we only have 300 yards." … 49ers head coach Chip Kelly said he would consider a coaching change after Thursday night’s embarrassing loss. Many around the team believe Colin Kaepernick will be the starter Week 6 against the Buffalo Bills. The two sides are working on a deal to restructure so the injury risk isn’t such a massive issue. Christian Ponder could be an option as well … The Pittsburgh Steelers have released Bruce Gradkowski from injured reserve.

Running Backs


Le’Veon Bell returned last week from his four-game suspension and did not disappoint. He was lining up at receiver and running back, and was dominant. Bell rushed for 144 yards on 18 carries and caught 5-of-6 targets for 34 yards. DeAngelo Williams handled just four carries … After making his season debut last week, Jamaal Charles says he’s 100 percent healthy. He also admitted the Kansas City Chiefs intended to hold him out through the bye week, but the Charcandrick West injury forced them to speed up the process … Latavius Murray has been ruled out for Sunday’s game against the San Diego Chargers. This will leave the explosive rookie duo of DeAndre Washington and Jalen Richard to handle the majority of the workload … Bears HC John Fox praised rookie Jordan Howard calling him “outstanding” and revealing that they’ll “ride him pretty good moving forward.” … Rashad Jennings is expected to be a gametime decision this week.

Tevin Coleman is expected to play for the Atlanta Falcons is Denver this week, but his snaps and touches will be monitored very closely and likely limited. This is because he has the sickle cell trait and the high altitude of Denver could have adverse effects on him because of it … Rookie Kenneth Dixon is on track to make his NFL debut with the Ravens this week. Terrance West is expected to start, and Justin Forsett has been cut to make room for Dixon … Ryan Mathews has been removed from the Philadelphia Eagles injury report and is expected to get the start ... The Cardinals have placed Chris Johnson on injured reserve with a groin injury … Dwayne Washington is doubtful for Week 5 with a sprained foot. Detroit Lions head coach Jim Caldwell want to get Zach Zenner more involved in his absence. "He's one of those guys that every time he touches it, something positive happens," Caldwell said … Charles Sims status for Week 5 is in doubt after he failed to practice all week. He is very questionable at best. Doug Martin will also remain sidelined. Jacquizz Rodgers will get the start if Sims sits.


Arian Foster is not expected to return for the Miami Dolphins this week. Head coach Adam Gase also stated that he wants to narrow down the backfield rotation this week … Panthers head coach Ron Rivera says Jonathan Stewart is “heading in the right direction.” However, he will not play this week … Isaiah Crowell believes his early season success is thanks to the new coaching staff believing in him and giving him opportunities. "I feel like I could’ve been doing this if I had opportunities like I have now," Crowell said. "It gave me a lot of confidence to know that my coach believes in me and that he trusts me."

Wide Receivers


Dez Bryant is not expected to be active for the Dallas Cowboys this week … According to Seattle Seahawks teammate Doug Baldwin, Tyler Lockett is playing through a torn PCL … The Bears have placed Kevin White on injured reserve with a broken fibula. Alshon Jeffery is also questionable as usual but is expected to play, and Eddie Royal will be a gametime decision … Stefon Diggs is doubtful to play this Sunday due to a groin injury.

Brian Quick says the game is “starting to slow down” for him … Donte Moncrief remains week to week and will not play Week 5 … The Jets have once again ruled out Eric Decker … Josh Gordon is still suspended indefinitely until further notice … Justin Hunter could make his Bills debut this week … Eli Rogers will miss another game with turf toe … Rishard Matthews has lost his starting job with the Tennessee Titans to Andre Johnson … Lions offensive coordinator Jim Bob Cooter says Golden Tate will have a “huge week” … The Washington Redskins could consider sending rookie Josh Doctson to injured reserve.

Tight Ends


Rob Gronkowski says he hopes this week is “go time” … Zach Ertz has been cleared to return and will start Week 5 … Antonio Gates will attempt to give it a go on Sunday … Tyler Eifert was expected to return this week, but suffered a back injury and will not be able to play … Larry Donnell will not play due to a concussion … Eric Ebron is expected to sit out with knee and ankle injuries … Jared Cook is expected to miss 4-6 weeks with a high-ankle sprain … Austin Seferian-Jenkins could make his Jets debut this week … The Ravens have placed Maxx Williams on injured reserve with a knee injury.
