We’ve said it before, and we’ll say it again: #ScoutArmy is where the winners play. Scout Fantasy expert Dave Terpoilli took down $100K on FanDuel this past weekend on a $300 entry. Terp should be a familiar name to Fantasy Football World Championship players and most of the high-stakes community. Back in 2014, he and Scout Fantasy VP Scott Atkins went down to the Atlantis Paradise Island Resort as part of a big qualifier tournament on DraftKings, a prize valued around $70,000!
Terp’s big money lineup was a thing of beauty. Like senior expert Joe Jefferson, both Terp and Joe foresaw serious production from Jacquizz Rodgers. Jefferson listed Rodgers as one of his Week 7 Phenom Plays.
First, let’s take a look at Terp’s lineup (not pictured Eagles DEF)
And let’s first hear from the winner himself:
What a weekend it surely was! The roster was one of the easiest I ever constructed which scared me a bunch. Spencer Ware and Jacquizz Rodgers were easy selections. They were both low-priced options that would get plenty of volume. I considered both RBs to be almost impossible to fade.
A.J. Green is having an up and down season, but that didn't scare me away. He was my favorite play of the week. Jack Doyle was a guy who I never even questioned. Luck loves to target TEs and with Allen out, it was a no-brainer. Julio, well, is Julio. Josh Lambo was a high-scoring potential game that I liked. I am from Philly, so the Eagles D with Bradford coming to town was an awesome pick. The decision came down to the QB and the other WR. At the third WR spot, I considered Mike Evans, Amari Cooper and Allen Robinson. They all were priced similar but I wanted the lineup to be a bit contrarian, so I went with Jameis Winston and Mike Evans. I was hoping to be different with Winston.
Overall, it was one wild night. I have to thank Earl Thomas for knocking David Johnson out at the 1. That would have cost me the win if he scored. Woke up Monday morning with a feeling that was indescribable. Wouldn't trade it for the world!
When looking back at this roster, it makes sense on paper, and you can definitely sense the logic in each pick. We covered Winston, Ware, Rodgers and Doyle in Nate Weitzer’s Week 7 Secret Stars. His final lineup at the end of the article also included A.J. Green and Mike Evans. So if you were following our content closely, Terp’s $100K win could have been yours.
Finding value in DFS is the name of the game. With all due respect, anybody could’ve selected Evans, Green and Julio as their WRs. What separates the real from the fake is identifying productive mid-range players each and every week. Terp nailed it and that's why he's going to cash six figures from FanDuel.
