Well, I will be the first to say, last night was a horrible night for me. Al Montoya gave up ten goals, the players I had on offense took the night off, and I had a hell of a headache. With that aside, today we have a large 12 game slate, with various options to choose from. I am looking for a rebound as I am sure most of us are. So let us drop the puck and go full speed down the ice, and pocket a game winner.
Evgeni Malkin - Center - ($7900 FD / $7000 DK) - Malkin and his Penguins continue their west coast road trip, with a Stanley Cup rematch with the San Jose Sharks. With the way Crosby has been playing, people will wonder why I am going for Malkin. Malkin has 11 points on the season (six goals / five assists) while averaging close to three shots a game.In 11 career games against the Sharks, Geno has ten points (four goals / six assists) and three shots per game. I love his line tonight and think he scores two goals and gets you an assist.
Mitch Marner - Wing - ($4600 FD / $4600 DK) - With all the hype on Auston Matthews, the Leafs other rookie, Mitch Marner has put together a nice start to his NHL career. In 11 games he has three goals and five assists. He and his Leafs get a home game against a Vancouver Canucks team that is not a team to fear. In his last game, Mitch scored two goals against the Buffalo Sabers, and I can see him, and his line doing well this game and be all over the score sheet. Also with his price being low, you can fit in more options.
Alexander Ovechkin - Wing - ($8500 FD / $8200 DK) - I have to go back to the Ovie well tonight. He is starting to heat up, and the league does not want him heating up. The Caps get a Florida Panthers team that is not lighting up the score sheet, nor stopping other teams from doing the same. Ovie is a beast at home and against the Panthers. In 55 career games against the Panthers, Movie has 34 goals and 37 assists. Like his last game against the Jets, Ovie will do ovie things again. I can see him getting another two goals and an assist. His price jumped $400 on FD, but I will use him, even if it is a stand alone.
Brandon Carlo - Defense - ($3600 FD / $3300 DK) - Brandon scored his first NHL goal in his last game and had just over 24 minutes of ice time. Brandon is leading all rookies with ice time at near 24 minutes a game and is paired with Zdeno Chara, on the Bruins top line pairing. With the amount of ice time he gets and the fact he averages close to four blocked shots a game and two shots a game, he is a cap saver that can hit 5x value. I will have a lot of exposure to Brandon tonight to open up space for offense and also his huge upside.
Games To Target
I will point out a few games you will want to target when building your core lines. This is not to say, you will want to make all your plays from these games, but your core should come from at least one of them.
Vancouver (+149) vs. Toronto (-180)
Auston Matthews - Center - ($6000 FD / $7200 DK)
Nazim Kadri - Center - ($6100 FD / $5100 DK) - Pair with Marner

James Van Riemsdyk - Wing - ($6200 FD / $5100 DK) - Pair with Kadri and/or Marner)
Tyler Bozak - Center - ($4200 FD/ $4100 DK)
Nikita Zaitsev - Defense - ($3500 FD / $3800 DK) - Priced too low for his upside.
Henrik Sedin - Center - ($4500 FD / $4400 DK)
Daniel Sedin - Wing - ($5700 FD / $5400 DK)
Brandon Sutter - Center - ($4200 FD/ $4100 DK) - Pair with Eriksson

TJ Oshie - Wing - ($5900 FD / $5400 DK)
Marcus Johansson -Wing - ($5200 FD / $4700 DK)
Jason Williams - Wing- ($4500 FD / $4300 DK) - Pair with Ovie, cheap exposure to top line.
Andre Burakovsky - Wing - ($4300 FD / $4400 DK)
John Carlsson - Defense - ($6000 FD / $5200 DK) - Top Powerplay unit, top Defense
Vincent Trocheck - Center - ($6200 FD / $5200 DK)
Andre Barkov - Center - ($5700 FD / $6300 DK)
Jonathan Marchessault - Wing ($5200 FD / $5600 DK)

Carolina (+149) vs. Nashville (-165)
Ryan Johansen - Center - ($6000 FD / $5500 DK)
Mike Ribeiro - Center - ($3900 FD / $3900 DK)
Mike Fisher - Center - ($4600 FD / $4500 DK)
James Neal - Wing - ($6600 FD / 6000 DK)
Filip Forsberg - Wing - ($6500 FD / $5900 DK) - Carolina bad against wing position.
Craig Wilson - Wing - ($4500 FD / $3500 DK)
Roman Josi - Defense - ($6700 FD / $6400 DK) - Will outplay PK and score
PK Subban - Defense - ($6600 FD / $6300 DK)
**As always check before puck drop to see starting goalies, as things change**
Mike Condon - ($7700 FD / $7700 DK) - Mike came out in his first game as a Senator and shutout the Canucks. He gets another home game against a Sabers team that is not scoring much this season but is taking a lot of shots on net. I like Condon to get another shot at the win tonight, and with all the high priced netminders out there tonight, I like him as he saves you cap space and has a very good chance at the win. He does not have much pressure on him, so he is playing relaxed. Check to make sure he starts, though, as it is possible that Anderson will be in net. As of this post, no confirmed starter for Ottawa.
Carter Hutton - ($8100 FD / $7400 DK) - I am taking a risk with Carter tonight, but the Blues need a spark in net, and Allen got shell shocked his last outing. Carter is a great cap saver and can shut down a Blue Jackets team that put up ten goals against the Canadians. Most people will be on the Jackets offense, but if history tells us one thing, it is rare for a team to have a huge offensive output, and repeat it the night before. I am expecting a huge letdown for the Jackets, which is a huge advantage from Hutton.
Favorite Line Stack: Ovechkin-Backstrom-William (Washington Top Line)
Favorite GPP Line Stack: Palat-Stamkos-Kucherov (Tampa Top Line. This game will be low owned)
