We go from a three game slate yesterday to a ten game slate tonight. This slate is full of great plays that we can use in our Cash and GPP lineups, and a few hidden treasures we can to make our lineups shine. How happy will I make you with your lineups tonight? As happy as I was last night when my two year old son came up to me and said, “Daddy, take me to potty, I need to pinch a loaf.” Proud moment there.
Patrick Laine - Wing - ($5700 FD / $6800 DK) - It is rare that I have a rookie as my top overall play, but one can not overlook Laine and his dominance this year. He has blistered the opposing goalies with 11 goals on the year, and he is just warming up. He is currently on a three game scoring streak where he has five goals and an assist, while getting a hat trick in his last game. Laine and his Jets travel to Arizona to play a Coyotes team that is hard to figure out. The Coyotes and their defense will not be able to hold Laine and his Jets at bay. He is a must-play as are his line mates. I can see him getting a goal and an assist.
Carl Hagelin - Wing - ($4900 FD / $4400 DK) - The Pittsburgh Penguins have been running through the NHL like a freight train as of late, and part of the reward for this success is Carl Hagelin has been moved to the top line with Sidney Crosby. In his last two games, Hagelin has a goal and three assists. The Pens get a home game against a Minnesota Wild team that has also been running well as of late. I love Hagelin tonight, as the Wild will put their top defensive player to shadow Crosby tonight, and leave Hagelin open on the half-wall to snipe goals all night. Look for him to score a goal and get two assists. His line is in play.
Alex Galchenyuk - Center - ($6200 FD / $6600 DK) - I am going to assume everyone will be on this game, as Galchenyuk and his Canadians are heavy favorites to win tonight. In his last six, Galchenyuk has four goals and four assists with two of the goals coming on the powerplay. Since the Canadians changed their lines up a few games back, it has paid off on the scoresheet and our DFS lineups. I would consider this line as a full GPP stack, and not look back.
Cappy's Super Sleeper
Slater Koekkoek - Defense - ($3100 FD / $3300 DK) - The reason we call this play a super sleeper is because I try to find plays that no one will be on, and unless you really follow hockey, specifically the Tampa Bay Lightning, then you have no clue who Koekkoek is. He was recently recalled from the AHL and has produced to the tune of three assists in four games. He is skating close to 14 minutes per game, and that may increase tonight, as the Lightning will want to roll their defense a bit more. He is fast, and can set anyone up from any position. There was talk in Tampa that he may rotate into the second powerplay unit for this game. I will be using him in order to fill out my top end offensive players tonight. Don't expect a hat trick out of him, but two assists two shots on net and four blocked shots would be a great stat line.
Games To Target
I will list a few teams you will want to consider when creating your lineups tonight. These game can be looked at for your core stack of players to build around.

Tomas Tatar - WIng - $4900 FD / $5100 DK - Pair with Zetterberg and/or Abdelkader
Justin Abdelkader - Wing - $4300 FD / $4400 DK - Second line Wing. Considering this line my top play in this game.
Mike Green - Defense - $4900 FD / $5300 DK - Worth a shot, but he has really slowed down. Four of his 14 points have come at home. Might fade.
Henrik Sedin - Center - $4600 FD / $4500 DK - Vancouver figured out how to score all the sudden. Pair with Daniel Sedin
Brandon Sutter - Center - $4000 FD / $4100 DK - Personally I think he is best center on team. Second line center pair with Granlund and/or Dorsett
Markus Granlund - Center (FD) / Wing (DK) - $3000 FD / $3000 DK - Will only use him and Sutter on DK, due to he is listed as a Center on FD.
Daniel Sedin - Wing - $5900 FD / $5400 DK - Pair with Henrik
Louie Eriksson - Wing - $4600 FD / $4600 DK - Pair with Sedin twins
Alexandre Burrows - Wing - $3400 FD / $3600 DK - Cheap exposure, could score a goal
Alexander Edler - Defense - $4300 FD / $4200 DK
Minnesota (+165) vs Pittsburgh (-185)
Sidney Crosby - Center - $8700 FD / $8100 DK - Need I explain why? Pair with Hornqvist and/or Hagelin
Evgeni Malkin - Center - $7900 FD / $6900 DK - Must have if you want to pair with Crosby for PP exposure. Pair with Kessel and/or Kunitz for line stack
Patric Hornqvist - Wing - $7100 FD / $6600 DK - Pair with Crosby and/or Hagelin
Phil Kessel - Wing - $6800 FD / $6000 DK - Pair with Malkin and/or Kunitz
Chris Kunitz - Wing - $4600 FD / $4300 DK - Cheap exposure to a possible high scoring game. Pair with Malkin and/or Kessel
Kris Letang - Defense - $6900 FD / $6700 DK - One of the best two way defensive players. Could pair with Crosby or any top PP player for a two player stack.
Eric Staal - Center - $5300 FD / $5300 DK - Top line center, pair with Coyle and/or Niederreiter
Mikko Koivu - Center - $4900 FD / $4700 DK - Pair with Pomminville
Nino Niederreiter - Wing - $4900 FD / $4200 DK - Pair with Staal
Charlie Coyle - Wing - $4700 FD / $5000 DK - Pair with Staal and/or Niederreiter. I think he scores a goal and has an assist tonight.
Jason Pomminville - Wing - $4900 FD / $4000 DK - Pair with Koivu
Joel Eriksson-Ek - Center - $3100 FD / $3400 DK - Former super-sleeper pick. Will take a flier on him tonight
Ryan Suter - Defense - $5600 FD / $5700 DK - Will be fun watching him try to out play Letang. Might take him an Letang in the same lineup.
**As always check before puck drop to see starting goalies, as things change. As of this post, no goalie has been confirmed. I am picking based off of who I expect to start. Always check to see if your goalie is starting.**
Tukka Rask - $9500 FD / $7800 DK - Dear FD fix your goalie pricing, they are so out of line. I love Tukka in net, at home. On the season, Rask is 7-1-0 with a 1.67 goals against average and a .941 save percentage. He has already beat the Blue Jackets this season, and there is no reason he won’t repeat that in this game. The Bruins are heavy favorites (-170) in this game, with a over/under of 5. Rask might give up a goal, but I think he has 36 saves off 37 shots, and the all important win on FanDuel. He will be a bit cash game chalky, especially on DraftKings where his price allows for higher offense. I will have exposure to him in both cash and GPP lineups.
Carey Price - $10200 FD / $8400 DK - Price is the best goalie in the NHL, but was shown to be human as he has given up six goals in his last two games. The Kings come in to Montreal riding a huge 7-0 blowout of the Maple Leafs. I don't see them getting seven goals tonight, or more than two. Carey is a safe play, but due to his price, he is a cash game play, unless you want to build a “Who’s who” of super sleepers in a GPP.
GPP ONLY PLAY
Connor Hellebuyck - $7400 FD / $7800 DK - I think his price is a bit high on DK, as the norm is them being much lower than FanDuel. The Coyotes average just over 2.8 goals a game, and Winnipeg gives up just about three goals a game. People will look at this and wonder why? In all of Connor’s wins this season, he has faced over 30 shots per game. Arizona likes to shoot the puck, hoping for rebounds. I think the Jets will steam roll the Coyotes tonight, and Connor will stop 37 of 38 shots, and get you the big 12 points on FanDuel for the win. I think he will be just below semi-chalk and I will have a good amount of exposure to him.
Favorite Line Stack: Ehlers - Scheifele - Laine (Jets top line)
Favorite GPP Low-Owned Line Stack: Tkachuk - Backland - Forlik (Calgary second line)
FanDuel Cash Game Line-Up
I will give you the start of a good cash game lineup on FanDuel, and you can fill in the rest.
C - Crosby - $8700
W - Hagelin - $4900
W - Laine - $5700
G - Jones - $8400
DraftKings Cash Game Lineup
Same as above, I will give you the start of a good Cash Game lineup for DK.
C - Crosby - $8100
W - Marchand - $7000
D - Letang - $6700
G - Rask - $7800
U - Tatar - $5100
Consider This: I know I only pointed out a few games to target, but remember these are the games I am targeting. Please look over the games that catch your eye and build from there. Do not be afraid to go contrarian tonight, as with any large slate, sneaky wins. Use my write up as a blueprint to the start of your lineup.
Fun Stat of the Night: The Hurricanes line of Stempniak, Rask, and Skinner has combined to score 10 goals this season, while only allowing two goals to be scored against them. They have a 83.3% goals for percentage, and a 16.39 shot percentage, which translates to 16% of the time they shoot, they score. Consider this stat for a very, very contrarian line tonight.
Swiss Cheese Defensive Pairing: The swiss cheese defensive pairing to attack tonight is the pairing of Nick Leddy and Travis Hamonic of the New York Islanders. When they are on the ice together, they have allowed 10 goals to be scored against them and have a plus/minus of -5 combined. They spend 78.8% of their time on ice in their end of the ice. Consider this when using anyone from the Tampa Bay Lightning. This puts both of the Lightning's top lines in play.
Our Powerplay will beat your Penalty Kill: In staying with the New York Islanders, and their inabilities, let's attack their penalty kill too. They are currently the sixth-worst team in the NHL when it comes to stopping the man advantage. They only have a 77.1% penalty kill score, while in contrast the Lightning are the-fifth best in the NHL on the powerplay, sporting a 25.5% success rate. So the Isles give up a goal 25% of the time, while the Lightning score a powerplay goal 25% of the time.
