Tony Romo was medically cleared to play football this week and began practicing with the Dallas Cowboys in a full capacity. However, while he is listed as questionable for Week 10, he is still expected to be inactive, and there is very little chance he will get the start. Owner Jerry Jones still won’t commit to a QB long term. "The key thing I want to emphasize is we probably are never going to have this totally sorted out," Jones said. "We’re going to play it by ear, play it as it comes." … Alex Smith will be the Kansas City Chiefs starter Week 10 after sitting out last week with a concussion or concussion-like symptoms … Pittsburgh Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin admitted that Ben Roethlisberger was “rusty” this past week. With that said, Big Ben is no longer on the team’s injury report.

Philadelphia Eagles head coach Doug Pederson wants Carson Wentz to throw the ball less during the second half of the season than he did in the first half … Los Angeles Rams head coach Jeff Fisher confirmed that Case Keenum would retain his starting job Week 10. The belief is Keenum will remain under center until the Rams are mathematically eliminated from the playoffs. First-overall pick Jared Goff did get some work in with the first team during the team’s bye week. Fisher continued to deflect blame off his quarterback following another loss last week. "I would submit that Case [Keenum] was not the reason we lost this game today," Fisher said. "We just didn't make plays in all three phases. We'll circle the wagons with the coaches and look at the tape, but I'm pleased with the way Case has fought." … Jameis Winston shed his knee brace this week and is practicing fully after suffering a minor knee injury on Thursday Night Football.

Ryan Fitzpatrick put out another poor performance last week when he once again threw more interceptions than touchdowns. He also suffered a sprained MCL. Despite poor play and injury, he is still expected to start the Sunday after returning to practice during the week and being officially listed as questionable. Bryce Petty will be on standby, though … Cody Kessler was benched for Josh McCown on Thursday night. It was a bit of a shock considering he wasn’t playing awful, and the winless Cleveland Browns aren’t going anywhere that would lead them to bench their rookie for a veteran. McCown, on the other hand, was atrocious, and the game spun out of hand for the Browns in the second half … Denver Broncos head coach Gary Kubiak continues to express frustration with Trevor Siemian, but he will remain the starter this week. "No, we like what Trevor is doing," Kubiak said. "Like all of us, he has to get better." … The Minnesota Vikings activated Taylor Heinicke from the reserve/NFI list.

Running Back

There is a chance Dion Lewis returns to action this week. New England Patriots head coach Bill Belichick says it will take a lot for Lewis to jump James White on the depth chart. "I think White is a good player," Belichick said. "What he does is good. Could somebody do it better? I don't know. But it would take quite a bit, I would say, based on where he is and how consistent he's been with what he's done. It would take somebody playing pretty good to be better than him."

Christine Michael was a late addition to the Seattle Seahawks’ injury report this week with a hamstring injury. He’s believed to be in serious danger of missing this week’s game. Head coach Pete Carroll also stated that Thomas Rawls “really has a chance to return next week." He looked fast and confident making his breaks. It was a good week for Thomas coming back. You couldn't see anything that was bothering him," said Carroll. C.J. Prosise is expected to have a large role this week … Doug Martin will be a true game-time decision this week. Jacquizz Rodgers has been ruled out … Derrick Henry will return to action this week coming off his calf injury. The injury was originally expected to cost him multiple weeks … Miami Dolphins head coach Adam Gase says the team is “never going away” from Jay Ajayi. "He knows exactly how I want to call the game," Gase continued … Ryan Mathews played just eight snaps this past week and played 11 or fewer snaps in four of the last six games. Sproles play 80 percent of the snaps. HC Pederson called him the lead back after recently insisting Mathews was still the “lead guy.” … Shane Vereen has a chance to return to the New York Giants this season.

James Starks is very questionable for the Green Bay Packers this week. However, he is slightly more likely to play than not … Matt Jones returned to Washington Redskins practice this week and had a chance to play on Sunday. According to head coach Jay Gruden, Robert Kelley has earned the early-down role and will handle the bulk of the carries regardless of Jones’ health. Jones will reportedly have to “earn his way back” into a larger role in the running back rotation. This is now Kelley’s job to lose, and Jones could even be a healthy scratch … Tevin Coleman has once again been ruled out by the Atlanta Falcons this week … Spencer Ware has been cleared to return this week … There is some belief in Denver that Devontae Booker could have fallen behind Kapri Bibbs in the backfield pecking order … Rams HC Fisher says Todd Gurley is “not getting enough carries.” … New Orleans Saints head coach Sean Payton plans to continue splitting touches between Mark Ingram and Tim Hightower. "We’ll do what’s best each week to win that game," said Payton. "It was good to see Mark run. The week before, Tim gave us a jolt. And we’ll continue to look at each game and plan accordingly.” … Carlos Hyde will be a game-time decision this week. If he is once again unable to go, DuJuan Harris will be the feature back … DeAngelo Williams underwent knee surgery on Wednesday and is expected to miss about a month.

Wide Receivers

Jarvis Landry and Kenny Stills are both questionable for Week 10 against the San Diego Chargers … For the Chargers, Travis Benjamin is doubtful with a knee injury and Tyrell Williams is listed as questionable … Arizona Cardinals head coach Bruce Arians says J.J. Nelson is now the team’s WR2 ahead of both Michael Floyd and John Brown … Jeremy Maclin has been ruled out for Week 10 … The Steelers have ruled out both Markus Wheaton and Darrius Heyward-Bey for Sunday … After suffering a concussion on Thursday Night Football, Mike Evans is good to go for this weekend … DeSean Jackson is listed as doubtful for Week 10 … Randall Cobb will be a full go this week … Allen Hurns is considered about 50/50 to play this week due to a concussion. He will have to be cleared to play … Victor Cruz is not expected to play this week due to a sprained ankle … The Detroit Lions activated Corey Fuller from the reserve/PUP list … The New York Jets activated Devin Smith from the reserve/PUP list.

Tight Ends

Eagles offensive coordinator Frank Reich wants to target Zach Ertz more in the red zone … It looks like Ladarius Green will finally make his Steelers debut this week … Jared Cook also has a chance to return Week 11 … The Seahawks will likely get Luke Wilson back this week … Jacob Tamme has been ruled out for Week 10.
