Good afternoon #ScoutArmy! The NHL has finally followed a nice schedule with an even nicer one. We get a nine-game slate tonight that features a few teams on the back side of a back-to-back. I will dive into the games with you and help you build some winning lineups. Let's separate the man from the puck and start an odd-man rush.
Vincent Trocheck - Center - ($5700 FD / $5500 DK) - I think this is the first time this season that I suggest a Florida Panther as one of my top plays. Torcheck and his Panthers continue their Canada road trip with a game in Ottawa. Trocheck has six goals and four assists on the season and is averaging close to three shots per game. I like Trocheck and his line to control this game really, and he should get you two assists and a goal while taking five shots, and even throwing in a blocked shot.
Jamie Benn - Wing - ($8100 FD / $7000 DK) - Benn and his Stars get to host an Edmonton Oilers team that is one of the NHL-worst in goals against per game. In his last game against the Oilers, Benn had two assists, three shots on goal with one of his assist coming on the man advantage. Benn has been starting to heat up, and with the Stars getting healthy and their goaltending starting to shore up, Benn is a great play at the wing position. He will have a goal and an assist and four shots on goal. His goal will be a power play goal as will his assist, giving you a few extra bonus points on each site. The Stars should dominate this game, and Benns line should control the action
Logan Couture - Center - ($6400 FD / $5800 DK) - Couture and his Sharks travel to Arizona top finish off their five-game road trip. In his last game, Couture had a goal and five shots on goal against the Blues. Also in his last game against the Coyotes, Couture had six shots on goal to lead the team that night. Couture has been shooting the puck a lot more, and those will start to result in more goals. Although the Coyotes got their top goalie Mike Smith, back from injury, it won't help. The Sharks will dominate the game flow, and Couture's line will be a big part of that domination.
Cappy's Super Sleeper
Zach Hyman - Wing - ($3400 FD / $3500 DK) - Hyman has been silent this season, only having two goals and one assist in 17 games. Hyman, though, scored his two goals in the last four games he has played. The Leafs head to Montreal for what should be a great game for the country of Canada. We all know Carey Price will be in net, but I think this game is dominated by youth and will be high scoring on both sides of the puck. I love Hyman and his line as a great low owned GPP play. I can see them scoring two goals, with Hyman getting one of the goals. Don't sleep on the Leafs this game. When the Leafs and the Canadians meet, all bets are out the door, and all stats don't matter. The ice will be wide open, and scoring will be bountiful.
Games To Target
I will be listing the teams you want to target in this slate with a little info. I am still traveling as I am seeing my two college kids this weekend, so I am a bit strapped to list players, etc. I will be around to answer questions throughout the day, though.
Pittsburgh - The Pens will be on the second part of a back-to-back. I will be targeting their second and third lines against the Sabres. The Pens should score five in this game.
Chicago - I love the Blackhawks to handle the Canucks in this game without much of a worry. Use their top two lines, and utilize Keith or Cambell on defense and thank me Sunday morning.
San Jose - As I mentioned above, San Jose is going to own the Coyotes. All three of their lines are in play this night. I would consider their 3rd line in a gpp if you are trying to save some cap space but have high upside. Burns is always in play.
Toronto - The Leafs will be low owned due to Price being in net. I will be on them, though. The line of Van Riemsdyk - Bozak - Marner will be the top play in this game. I also expect Auston Matthews to score in this game and his line will also be in play.
Montreal - You really can not ignore the Habs in this matchup against the Leafs. The Leafs have no goaltending to speak of, and this game will be a shootout. Keep an eye on the Habs lines, though, but the top 2 are in play without question as well as Weber on Defense and Beaulieu as a nice gpp play on defense
Florida - You will want to use the top two lines of the Panthers as they are going to score four goals between them. Also love Yandle as a gpp play on Defense with high upside
**As always check before puck drop to see starting goalies, as things change**
I will list a few goalies and if you want them in cash, gpp, or both.
Martin Jones - Cash
Marc-Andre Fleury - Gpp
Roberto Luongo - Cash/Gpp
Lehtonen - Cash/Gpp
Scott Darling - Gpp
Devan Dubnyk - Cash/Gpp
Tuukka Rask - Gpp
