In a press conference this week, Tony Romo admitted Dak Prescott has earned the Dallas Cowboys starting job and conceded the position to him for the time being. "As hard as that is for me to say, he’s earned that right," Romo said. "To say the first half of this season has been emotional would be a huge understatement. Getting hurt when you feel like you have the best team you’ve had was a soul-crushing moment for me. It’s a dark place. Probably the darkest it’s ever been." … Los Angeles Rams 2016 first-overall pick Jared Goff will get his first NFL start Sunday over Case Keenum against the Miami Dolphins … Aaron Rodgers believes the struggling Green Bay Packers need to play with more urgency. “There has to be that healthy fear as a player that if you don’t do your job they’ll get rid of you,” said Rodgers. “I think we’ve all got to go back and the urgency’s got to pick up, the focus has got to pick up … we’ve all got to play better, and that starts with me.”

Jacksonville Jaguars head coach Gus Bradley is not even considering going away from Blake Bortles. "I don't see anything in the future where Blake Bortles is not our guy," Bradley said … Denver Broncos starter Trevor Siemian has a shoulder injury that is becoming a problem. He was reportedly experiencing "serious discomfort before the game even started. The team acknowledged that if they had to play today, he wouldn't be able to go. Siemian received a pain-killing injection following their Week 10 matchup. The good news is the Broncos have their bye week coming up, and Siemian will have two weeks to recover. He should be ready to play when they return from their break, but this could become an issue moving forward. First-round rookie Paxton Lynch will start if Siemian can't go.

Chicago Bears head coach John Fox continues to stick with Jay Cutler moving forward. Matt Barkley is next on the depth chart … Tom Brady is dealing with a minor thigh injury he suffered from a Kam Chancellor hit on Sunday Night Football. He is fully expected to be ready to roll Week 11.  "I’m sore, but I will be ready to go next week," Brady said. "I’ll get my treatment this week, get out to practice and be ready to go." … New York Jets head coach Todd Bowles will not confirm or deny whether or not Christian Hackenberg will play this season. Too early to tell," said Bowles. "But we'll see." Bowles is not sure who he's starting this week. He's concerned about losing the locker room if he plays Bryce Petty … Robert Griffin III may be able to return to the Cleveland Browns for the last few weeks of the season. It's unclear if he can play whether or not he'll get a chance to start.

Running Backs

The Seattle Seahawks have released Christine Michael this week, and Thomas Rawls will return to action Sunday. According to head coach Pete Carroll Rawls will be a full-go with no limitations despite his lengthy absence. "There's no easing in with Thomas," Carroll said. "Have no question he'll be ready to go. He'll be fine." … Dion Lewis is expected to return for the New England Patriots this week. Head coach Bill Belichick says there will be a "build up process" for his return. "I think anytime a player is coming back from missing a significant amount of time, there's a certain buildup process," Belichick said. "Sometimes that accelerates, sometimes it doesn't, sometimes it just stays on a straight-line course. It’s hard to predict how that’s going to go. There’s a big difference between training and playing football."

The Atlanta Falcons expect Tevin Coleman back on the field following their Week 11 bye … Minnesota Vikings head coach Mike Zimmer says he has no clue if Adrian Peterson will be able to return this season. AP has resumed light running … Washington Redskins head coach Jay Gruden suggests although the team believes in Matt Jones, he may continue being a healthy scratch. "We're not giving up on Matt," Gruden said. "But when you can only dress three running backs, the third one we would like to have some impact on special teams."

Free agent Isaiah Pead was in a devastating car accident this week which left him in critical condition. He survived the wreck but lost a portion of his leg in the process. His career is over … The Packers have placed Don Jackson on injured reserve …. Jamaal Charles recent surgery reportedly actually increases his likelihood of returning this season. It’s still a long shot … Houston Texans head coach Bill O’Brien will include Akeem Hunt in the game plan this week … Doug Martin will see an increased role this week. With Jacquizz once again ruled out, Peyton Barber will serve as the primary backup or co-option …. Mark Ingram suffered a concussion on Thursday Night Football. He exited early in quarter three and did not return … DeAngelo Williams has been ruled out for Week 11.

Alshon Jeffery has been suspended four games for violating the league’s performance-enhancing drug policy. He admits to accidentally using a supplement containing a banned substance and takes full responsibility for not doing a better job of knowing what he was putting in his body. The Bears have activated Marquess Wilson from the reserve/PUP list … Buffalo Bills head coach Rex Ryan plans on using Percy Harvin as more than just a decoy and Harvin believes he has a lot left in the "tank." "I'm feeling good, and my legs are back to feeling amazing," Harvin said. "I think it should be nothing but up for me on that." Sammy Watkins still can’t practice.

Andrew Weber/USA TODAY Sports

DeSean Jackson will be a gametime decision this week but is trending in the right direction … Eric Decker finally underwent surgery on his injured shoulder this past Tuesday … Sammie Coates is dealing with two broken fingers, which has contributed to his recent struggles … The Arizona Cardinals have signed Jaron Brown to a one-year extension … Vincent Jackson has officially been ruled out for the remainder of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers season … Jeremy Maclin will miss another game this week for the Kansas City Chiefs.
