Week 13: FAAB / Blind Bidding Guide

The Fantasy Football Triple Threat Adam Ronis offers a blind bidding guide to help you target the right players heading into Week 13!

From waivers to lineup decisions, Scout Fantasy's oversized check-cashing experts will assist you with every decision. Let Scout Fantasy be your guide.

There weren't too many major injuries in Week 12. This isn't a great week for the waiver wire, especially at the running back position and in deeper formats where many relevant players are rostered. The Browns and Titans are on bye this week. Make sure you know the rules of your league as some shut down waivers for the playoffs. If that's the case, make sure you use all your FAAB dollars in the final week. You don't get to carry the money over so use it, and this is the last week of the regular season in many leagues.

These recommendations are based on a 12-team league using a $1,000 budget.

Quarterbacks

COLIN KAEPERNICK – SAN FRANCISCO 49ERS – $100

Since Week 9, Kaepernick has been a Top 10 fantasy QB every week, including being the No. 1 QB in Week 12, yet he's still available in many leagues. While the 49ers are an awful team with one win, it doesn't matter because Kaepernick is producing. He has four consecutive games with multiple touchdowns and is averaging 62.1 yards per game. He gets a good matchup this week against the Bears. If you have Marcus Mariota on a bye, Kaepernick is your replacement, and he's still cheap in DFS. Kaepernick finishes with the Jets, Falcons, and Rams.

RYAN TANNEHILL – MIAMI DOLPHINS – $25

The Fantasy numbers haven't been ideal for Tannehill, but his play on the field has improved. He's coming off one of his better games of the season, but keep in mind it was against the putrid 49ers defense. Tannehill went 20-for-30 for 285 yards, three touchdowns and six carries for 34 yards. The Ravens allow 3.4 yards per carry and the fewest fantasy points to running backs, so Tannehill should be forced to pass more than usual.

Others to consider: Alex Smith, KC – $20, Ryan Fitzpatrick, NYJ – $15, Trevor Siemian, DEN – $5, Carson Wentz, PHI – $5, Joe Flacco, BAL – $5,

Running Backs

KENNETH DIXON – BALTIMORE RAVENS – $250

It's bad at the running back position when Dixon is one of the top choices. He's owned in most deeper formats, but he might be out there in some formats judging from ownership percentages. Dixon played more snaps than Terrance West for the first time this season in Week 12. Dixon played 31 snaps compared to 23 for West. Dixon had 13 carries for 49 yards four catches for 31 yards on four targets. West had 13 carries for 48 yards and three catches for 16 yards. The Ravens are high on Dixon, and he's the better receiving back. The problem is the Ravens' offense has struggled.

REX BURKHEAD – CINCINNATI BENGALS - $80

Burkhead played one more snap than Jeremy Hill on Sunday. Hill is the clear lead back and was more involved in the passing game with Gio Bernard out, catching six passes. Burkhead had five carries for 29 yards and caught two passes for 19 yards. Only consider him in deep leagues.

CHARLES SIMS – TAMPA BAY BUCCANEERS – $75

Sims has already returned to practice and could return in Week 14. If you're in the playoffs, he's a good stash. The Buccaneers are in the playoff hunt, and Sims caught 51 passes last season.

Others to consider: Mike Gillislee, BUF – $30, Ameer Abdullah, DET – $15, Alfred Morris, DAL – $10, Shane Vereen, NYG – $10, DeAngelo Williams, PIT – $10, Jeremy Langford, CHI – $10, Adrian Peterson, MIN – $10, Paul Perkins, NYG – $5, Kapri Bibbs, DEN – $5, Damien Williams, MIA – $5, Kenjon Barner, PHI – $5, Alex Collins, SEA – $10, Dwayne Washington, DET - $5, Kenneth Farrow, SD - $5, Andre Ellington, ARI - $5, Akeem Hunt, HOU – $5, Denard Robinson, JAX – $5

Wide Receivers

MARQUESS WILSON – CHICAGO BEARS – $150

Health has been one of the things holding Wilson back. He returned from the injured reserve in Week 11 and had a big week on Sunday. Matt Barkley showed a preference for Wilson, and while he did drop two touchdowns, Wilson had 11 targets and caught eight for 125 yards and a touchdown.

TED GINN JR. – CAROLINA PANTHERS – $125

Ginn should produce more big plays with his speed, but Week 12 was the first week he topped 100 yards. He caught four passes for 115 yards with a touchdown on ten targets. He has at least six targets in five of the last six games. He has at least nine points in PPR formats in six straight providing a decent floor.

MALCOLM MITCHELL – NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS – $85

In Week 11, Mitchell had four catches for 98 yards with a touchdown on five targets. Chris Hogan returned on Sunday after missing the previous week, and Mitchell played 47 percent of the snaps in Week 12. He had five catches for 42 yards with two touchdowns on seven targets. The Patriots have a lot of weapons, so beware of the risk, but if the Patriots have some injuries, Mitchell is a play in deeper leagues.

TAYLOR GABRIEL – ATLANTA FALCONS – $85

Gabriel has at least 15 points in PPR formats in four straight games. He hasn't received a lot of volume, but the Falcons are designing short passes and letting Gabriel use his speed to generate big plays. He has 21 touches over the last four games. He has 13 catches for 271 yards with four touchdowns on 18 targets and three carries for 51 yards with a touchdown in that span.

Others to consider: Adam Thielen, MIN – $25, Cameron Meredith, CHI – $25, Dontrelle Inman, SD – $20, Breshad Perriman, BAL – $15, Seth Roberts, OAK – $5, Leonte Caroo, MIA – $5

Tight Ends

VANCE MCDONALD – SAN FRANCISCO 49ERS – $75

McDonald led the 49ers in targets and yards in Week 12 against the Dolphins with eight targets and caught four passes for 60 yards. McDonald has at least six targets in five consecutive games. He has at least nine points in PPR formats in four straight games. The Bears defense will be without two starting linebackers this week.

VERNON DAVIS – WASHINGTON REDSKINS – $50

Jordan Reed has a Grade 3 AC joint separation of the shoulder and his status for Week 13 is unknown. Davis has been good this season and even had some good games with Reed active. Davis has at least 11 points in PPR formats in five of the last six games.

Others to consider: Ladarius Green, PIT – $45, Lance Kendricks, LA – $15, Hunter Henry, SD – $10, Jermaine Gresham, ARI – $5, Charles Clay, BUF – $5
