Sean Murphy-Bunting ARI CB
Cardinals' Sean Murphy-Bunting: Done for season
11h agoMurphy-Bunting (undisclosed) was placed on the reserve/non-football injury list by the Cardinals on Thursday, Theo Mackie of The Arizona Republic reports.
The type of injury was not disclosed by either Murphy-Bunting or the Cardinals, but the nature of the transaction means that it happened away from team facilities and that the cornerback will miss the 2025 season. Murphy-Bunting started 15 games for the Cardinals in 2024, the first year of a three-year free-agent contract he signed the previous March. Arizona has two other experienced corners, Starling Thomas and Garrett Williams, back from last year as well as 2025 second-round pick Will Johnson.

Jermaine Burton CIN WR
Bengals' Jermaine Burton: Impressing at camp
15h agoHead coach Zac Taylor told reporters Wednesday that Burton has "done a good job" this offseason, Chris Roling of USA Today reports.
Burton, a 2024 third-round pick from Alabama, struggled throughout his rookie campaign, catching just four passes for 107 yards and tallying 378 kick-return yards over 14 games. Additionally, the Bengals had concerns about the 23-year-old's character, as he missed a pregame walkthrough and was involved in other incidents during the 2024 season. However, Taylor seems to be impressed with Burton's progression this offseason. If he can continue to impresses Cincinnati's staff this summer, Burton could serve as the team's No. 3 wide receiver in 2025.

Maxx Crosby LV DE
Raiders' Maxx Crosby: Past ankle issue
15h agoCrosby (ankle) was a full participant in Wednesday's practice, Tashan Reed of The Athletic reports.
Crosby missed the final five games of the Raiders' 2024 campaign due to an ankle injury, but his full practice participation Wednesday suggests he's already moved past the issue. The Eastern Michigan product inked a three-year, $106.5 million extension to keep him in Las Vegas in early March after posting 59.5 sacks across six seasons with the team. Now back to full health, Crosby is expected to remain one of the NFL's top defensive playmakers in 2025.
-
Aidan Hutchinson DET DE
Lions' Aidan Hutchinson: Back to full health
15h agoHutchinson (leg) told reporters Thursday that he's fully cleared to return, Eric Woodyard of ESPN.com reports.
Hutchinson was the frontrunner for Defensive Player of the Year before sustaining a season-ending leg injury in the Lions' Week 6 win over the Cowboys in 2024. However, he now appears to be completely past the issue. Over the Michigan product's first three years in the NFL, he appeared in 39 regular-season games and recorded 132 total tackles, including 28.5 sacks, 10 passes defended, with four interceptions, and four forced fumbles. Now back to full health, Hutchinson is expected to continue wreaking havoc on opposing quarterbacks in 2025.

Brian Burns NYG LB
Giants' Brian Burns: Contract restructured
15h agoThe Giants converted $10 million of Burns' base salary into a signing bonus Thursday, Field Yates of ESPN reports.
According to Yates, the Giants signed 2025 third-overall pick Abdul Carter on Thursday and converted part of Burns' salary into a signing bonus to stay under the salary cap. The 2019 first-round pick made an impact in his first year with the Giants, recording 71 total tackles, including 8.5 sacks, and eight passes defended over 17 regular-season contests. He's now expected to be a part of one of the NFL's top pass-rush duos in 2025, starting opposite Carter.

Dallin Holker NO TE
Saints' Dallin Holker: Dealing with injury
15h agoHead coach Kellen Moore told reporters Thursday that Holker (undisclosed) is dealing with a "minor" injury, Matthew Paras of The New Orleans Times-Picayune reports.
The Colorado State product served as the Saints' No. 3 tight end in 2024, catching three of his four targets for 21 yards while playing 104 total snaps (73 offensive, 31 on special teams) across 12 regular-season games. With Holker and Foster Moreau (knee) currently sidelined, Jack Stoll and Moliki Matavao will likely see increased offensive reps.

Tyler Heineman TOR DH
Blue Jays' Tyler Heineman: Stays hot offensively
6h agoHeineman went 2-for-4 with two runs scored in Thursday's 7-6 win against the Padres.
Heineman continues to swing a hot bat, picking up his sixth multi-hit game Thursday. His slash line is now an impressive .396/.412/.542 albeit in a limited 51 plate appearances on the season. Despite the offensive production, the 33-year-old is firmly entrenched as the backup catcher behind Alejandro Kirk which likely means he won't see much of an uptick in playing time. Regardless, if he continues to swing the bat like this, the team might have to find a way to at least rotate him in at the team's crowded designated hitter spot to try to get him more at-bats.
-
Dylan Moore SEA 2B
Mariners' Dylan Moore: Clubs homer in loss
6h agoMoore went 2-for-4 with a solo home run in Thursday's 9-2 loss to the Astros.
This was Moore's first multi-hit effort since May 7, his second game back from a mild hip injury. Over the previous 11 contests, he went just 6-for-29 (.207) with a home run, four RBI and a 4:15 BB:K. The utility player still gets in the lineup a majority of the time, but his recent struggles at the plate could see his role reduced slightly until he turns things around. Moore has a .279/.339/.514 slash line with eight homers, 16 RBI, 20 runs scored, eight stolen bases and two doubles across 124 plate appearances. While the hitting has been decent overall, he's had some struggles defensively -- his five errors this season already match his totals from each of the previous two years.
-
George Kirby SEA SP
Mariners' George Kirby: Struggles in season debut
6h agoKirby (0-1) allowed five runs on six hits and a walk while striking out four over 3.2 innings to take the loss Thursday versus the Astros.
Kirby missed over a quarter of the season while dealing with right shoulder inflammation. He was on a pitch count Thursday, but he had some rust to shake off, struggling the second time through the Houston order. The Astros tied the game with two runs in the third inning and added three more in the fourth. Kirby threw 49 of 72 pitches for strikes and should be able to push closer to 80-to-85 pitches for his second start. Once he's up to speed, Kirby should be back to being an efficient pitcher who relies on excellent command to limit damage. He is projected to make his next start at home versus the Nationals.
-
Jonatan Clase TOR LF
Blue Jays' Jonatan Clase: Reaches four times in win
7h agoClase went 2-for-3 with an RBI, two walks and a stolen base in Thursday's 7-6 extra-innings victory over the Padres.
After picking up three multi-hit games in his small 26-game sample size in 2024, Clase picked up his first multi-hit game of the 2025 campaign Thursday, and he added a couple of walks on top of it. It continues a good trend for the 22-year-old who has now recorded a hit in three straight games he's played in while going 4-for-7 with three RBIs, three walks and two stolen bases.
-
Victor Caratini HOU C
Astros' Victor Caratini: Racks up three hits Thursday
7h agoCaratini went 3-for-4 with one RBI in Thursday's 9-2 win over the Mariners.
Caratini has logged multiple hits in four of his last seven games, though he has just two RBI in that span. The catcher is up to a .287/.367/.448 slash line with three home runs, six RBI, 12 runs scored and five doubles across 98 plate appearances this season. His strong hitting has earned him a near-everyday role in the absence of Yordan Alvarez (hand). While Alvarez's eventual return will negatively impact Caratini's playing time, he could still hit his way into some extra games since fellow catcher Yainer Diaz is hitting just .231 this season.
-
Jose Altuve HOU LF
Astros' Jose Altuve: Ends power drought
7h agoAltuve went 2-for-4 with two home runs and four RBI in Thursday's 9-2 win over the Mariners.
Altuve hadn't gone yard since April 28 versus the Tigers, a span of 20 games without a long ball. He hit just .173 and slugged just .227 in that span, and he had gone hitless in six of his previous eight contests before Thursday's display of power against the Mariners' bullpen. It's still been a rough season for the 35-year-old, who is now batting .243 with a .666 OPS, six homers, 18 RBI, 21 runs scored, four stolen bases and six doubles across 48 contests. Despite the struggles, he continues a starting role between second base, left field and designated hitter.

Isaiah Joe OKC SG
Thunder's Isaiah Joe: Fails to score in Game 2 win
3h agoJoe notched zero points (0-1 FG, 0-1 3Pt), one rebound, one assist and one block over three minutes during Thursday's 118-103 win over the Timberwolves in Game 2 of the Western Conference Finals.
Joe barely featured in the rotation Thursday, failing to score for the third time these playoffs. He has now played fewer than 10 minutes in six of the past seven games as the Thunder tightens its rotation moving deep into the postseason. At this point, he is basically being used as a depth piece, although his offensive upside could still play a role at some point should the situation call for it.
-
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander OKC SG
Thunder's Shai Gilgeous-Alexander: Tables game-high 38 points
3h agoGilgeous-Alexander chipped in 38 points (12-21 FG, 1-2 3Pt, 13-15 FT), three rebounds, eight assists and three steals over 42 minutes during Thursday's 118-103 win over the Timberwolves in Game 2 of the Western Conference Finals.
Fresh off being named this year's Most Valuable Player, Gilgeous-Alexander went to work, dismantling the Timberwolves in Game 2 of the Western Conference Finals. It marks his fifth straight game with at least 30 points, with his last three games being blowout victories. Oklahoma City is now just two wins away from reaching the NBA Finals, an achievement that seems somewhat fitting given its dominant season.
-
Jalen Williams OKC SF
Thunder's Jalen Williams: Double-doubles in Game 2 triumph
3h agoWilliams closed with 26 points (12-20 FG, 2-6 3Pt, 0-1 FT), 10 rebounds, five assists and one steal across 39 minutes during Thursday's 118-103 win over the Timberwolves in Game 2 of the Western Conference Finals.
Williams was at it again, helping guide the Thunder to a relatively comfortable victory in Game 2 of the Western Conference Finals. It continues what has been an impressive postseason run for Williams, mirroring what he did during the regular season. In 12 games over the past month, he has averaged 20.1 points, 6.0 rebounds, 5.6 assists, 1.6 steals and 1.5 three-pointers. The series now shifts to Minnesota, where Oklahoma City will look to inflict more damage on the Timberwolves.
-
Nickeil Alexander-Walker MIN SF
Timberwolves' Nickeil Alexander-Walker: Pops for 17 points in loss
3h agoAlexander-Walker ended with 17 points (5-8 FG, 3-4 3Pt, 4-4 FT), two rebounds and two assists in 25 minutes during Thursday's 118-103 loss to Oklahoma City in Game 2 of the Western Conference Finals.
Alexander-Walker came off the bench for 17 points, one of only three Minnesota players to exceed 15 points. It's been an inconsistent postseason up until this point for the backup guard, with his offensive output ranging from 0 to 20 points. More often than not, he tallies single digits, a trend he will need to change should Minnesota hope to reverse its fortunes.
-
Mike Conley MIN PG
Timberwolves' Mike Conley: Has no impact in Game 2 loss
3h agoConley posted three points (1-6 FG, 1-4 3Pt), three rebounds and three assists over 28 minutes during Thursday's 118-103 loss to Oklahoma City in Game 2 of the Western Conference Finals.
Conley looked out of his depth Thursday, failing to have any sort of tangible impact. He has now scored single digits in all but two playoff appearances, a worrying trend for a team that needs production in a hurry. In 11 games over the past month, Conley has put up modest averages of 6.3 points and 3.7 assists in 24.7 minutes per game. At this point, his lack of upside could be a limiting factor against what is a well-rounded Thunder team.
-
Rudy Gobert MIN C
Timberwolves' Rudy Gobert: Disappearing act continues Thursday
3h agoGobert racked up five points (2-5 FG, 1-2 FT), nine rebounds, one assist and one block across 30 minutes during Thursday's 118-103 loss to the Thunder in Game 2 of the Western Conference Finals.
Gobert struggled mightily, continuing what has been a disappointing postseason. Outside of one strong performance against the Lakers, Gobert has been a non-factor for the Timberwolves, typically scoring single digits while adding modest defensive contributions. Over his past 11 games, he has averaged just 8.5 points, 9.3 rebounds and 1.3 blocks. Now trailing 2-0 in the series, Minnesota will head home for Games 3 and 4, where it will look to regain some momentum.
-
Aleksander Barkov FLA C
Panthers' Aleksander Barkov: Lights lamp on power play
6h agoBarkov put up a power-play goal in a 5-0 win over Carolina in Game 2 of the Eastern Conference Finals on Thursday.
Barkov's goal put the kitties up 5-0 in the third. He redirected Aaron Ekblad's wrist shot from the right point past Pyotr Kochetkov. It was his fourth goal and 12th point of the postseason (14 games). That total puts Barkov one point behind a trio of teammates (Carter Verhaeghe, Sam Bennett and Eetu Luostarinen) for the team lead in the postseason.
-
Evan Rodrigues FLA C
Panthers' Evan Rodrigues: Power-play playmaking prowess
6h agoRodrigues had two assists in a 5-0 victory over the Hurricanes on Thursday in Game 2 of the Eastern Conference Finals.
Both came on the power play. Rodrigues has eight assists, including three with the man advantage, and 19 shots in 12 games this postseason. All three of those PPP have come against the Canes.
-
Aaron Ekblad FLA D
Panthers' Aaron Ekblad: Two apples pad playoff totals
6h agoEkblad had two assists in a 5-0 win over Carolina in Game 2 of the Eastern Conference Finals on Thursday.
Ekblad has three points (one goal, two assists) in two games this series, and he has nine points overall, including three goals, and 24 shots in 10 games. That's Ekblad's best offensive output of any postseason of his career. He had one goal and five assists in 24 games in last season's Cup run.
-
Gustav Forsling FLA D
Panthers' Gustav Forsling: Nets winner in Game 2
6h agoForsling scored a goal Thursday in a 5-0 win over the Hurricanes in Game 2 of the Eastern Conference Finals.
It stood as the winner. Forsling put the Panthers up 1-0 at 1:17 of the first frame. Matthew Tkachuk intercepted a pass up the boards and fed the defender, who curled out between the circles and wired a snap shot over Frederik Andersen's left pad. The goal came on the first shot of the game. Forsling has just four points, including three assists, this postseason (14 games), but his value comes in his D-zone abilities.
-
Matthew Tkachuk FLA LW
Panthers' Matthew Tkachuk: Two-point game in win
6h agoTkachuk had a goal and an assist in a 5-0 win in Game 2 of the Eastern Conference Finals on Thursday.
His goal was a nice tap-in at the left post to put Florida up 2-0 in the first period. But it was his antagonism of Andrei Svechnikov later in the same frame that led to a penalty and power-play goal that drove the score to 3-0. Tkachuk isn't even the more talented brother, but his ability to agitate and chirp is epic, and he drives opponents over the edge. And his offense really is sweet. Tkachuk sits in a tie with Aleksander Barkov and Brad Marchand for second in team scoring these playoffs (12 points; four goals, eight assists).
-
Carter Verhaeghe FLA C
Panthers' Carter Verhaeghe: Trio of assists in Game 2 win
6h agoVerhaeghe had three assists in a 5-0 win over the Hurricanes in Game 2 of the Eastern Conference Finals on Thursday.
He and Sam Bennett continue to pour on the pressure, and the Canes have had no response. The two men are tied with Eetu Luostarinen for the team lead in scoring with 13 points in 14 games. Verhaeghe appeared on Conn Smythe ballots in 2024, and at this rate, he'll see that again.
