We had another awesome day Tuesday, and I hope we can continue this streak. My picks of Laine and Gaudreau paid off big time, as each hit for over 3x value. Today we have a medium size slate of six games, that honestly, gave me some difficulties. I'm digging deep and feel today's advice will help put you over the top. Time to drop the puck and chase down the money.
I was asked if these are three players people should use. What I suggest is building around at least one of my three choices. Let us take a look at my top three.
Mikko Koivu - Wing - ($4700 FD / $5300 DK) - Koivu has silently put together a very nice season. He has points in seven of his last eight games. Slated as the Wilds second line center, he is often overlooked. He is going to be a superb play tonight as he can take over a game. His smooth skating and smooth hands will help him get a goal and an assist with five shots on net.
Taylor Hall - Wing - ($7300 FD / $6900) - Since returning from injury, Hall has seemed not to miss a beat. He has two goals and four assists in his last three games. I love his gameplay and renewed love of the game since being traded from Edmonton in the offseason. The St. Louis Blues visit Hall and his Devils, and the Blues don't scare anyone defensively. Hall will get two goals, one assist and seven shots on net. His entire line could win you a lot of money.
Boone Jenner -Wing- ($5100 FD / $5300 DK) - Firstly, this guy has the only name in Hockey that sounds like he played on the 1910 Chicago White Sox. Back to hockey, though. Jenner has scored in two of his last three, and tonight he will score again. He is a grinder type player with extreme skills. The Detroit Red Wings are ranked 28th in the NHL against the wing position, making Jenner that much more valuable. I foresee a goal with five shots on net and two blocked shots.
Cappy's Super Sleeper
Zemgus Girgensons - Wing - ($3400 FD / $3700 DK) - Like Jenner above, he sounds like an NBA center from Croatia. Lucky for us, he is a winger on Buffalo. The Sabers have been a surprise team this season, and Girgensons is stemming to explode. That is tonight for us against Washington. The problem with the Caps is they tend overlook teams. Girgensons will have a beautiful goal to open the scoring along with an assist and four shots on net.
Games To Target
I will be listing the teams you want to target in this slate with a little info on each team.
New Jersey Devils - The Devils are a defensive minded team with a lot of firepower, The top line of Hall-Henrique-Parenteau will pay off well tonight, as will having either Severson or Auvitu on defense.
Buffalo Sabers - The Sabers are a young and fast team. This is the game I'm targeting for a lot of goals. All three of the Sabers top lines can score and will be contrarian no matter which way you go. Eichel is a phenomenal player, and Kane is a tough player to defend. I'm not too high on their defenders other than Ristolainen, as far as DFS value goes, but you can take a shot at Franson as a pivot.
Washington Capitals - The Caps seem to feel like the chalk play if the evening. I mean, Ovechkin, need I say more? Yes? Ok, Burakovsky, Oshie, Kuznetsov, Johanson. All of them can score quickly. I am ok with any of their top 3 lines but do not like their defense. Maybe Carlson, but even then I think you can fade the defense.
Minnesota Wild - The Wild seem to score from everywhere, and with that, the will score from anywhere. I love them tonight and will have a lot of exposure to the Koivu line, and even consider their 3rd line in large MME formats. Suter on defense is near a must play.
