Quarterbacks

The Miami Dolphins may have suffered a huge loss in their big win last Sunday. Ryan Tannehill went down with what was believed to a torn ACL. They got some good news that the injury was not as bad as expected. With that said, he still suffered a sprained ACL and MCL. He's expected to miss at least a few weeks, and it's unclear if he'll be able to play again this season. Matt Moore will start in his absence and the team also signed T.J. Yates for depth … Aaron Rodgers was not able to practice at all this week for the Green Bay Packers. However, he insists he’s at no risk of sitting out Week 15 with a hamstring injury. It'll be about pain management on Sunday, but the good thing is I'll be out there," Rodgers said. "I've dealt with a lot of injuries over the years, and you just learn about pain management and how to keep yourself in the best shape to play on Sunday, and then playing with pain." … The Los Angeles Rams have placed first-overall pick Jared Goff in the league’s concussion protocol … According to Indianapolis Colts owner Jim Irsay, the injured shoulder that has hampered Andrew Luck all season will not require surgery … Philadelphia Eagles head coach Doug Pederson reiterated this week that still wants to cut back on second-overall pick Carson Wentz’s high volume of passes.  "I didn't anticipate him throwing the ball quite as much," Pederson said. "I'd love to manage that a little bit more for him. I think it's putting him in a tough situation."

Cleveland Browns head coach Hue Jackson expects Robert Griffin III to be much better moving forward after a one week pass to knock the rust off. "I can understand last week, but I do not want to see it happen again this week," Jackson said. "You have a game under your belt. You have practices under your belt. Now, you need to go play well. I expect that everything will be better from that standpoint." … Marcus Mariota says he’s prepared to deal with the elements in Kansas City this weekend.  "I’ll be ready, I’ll be ready," Mariota said. "I’m looking forward to it, it’s going to be a fun atmosphere, and I can’t wait to do it." … Matthew Stafford does not believe his dislocated middle finger suffered last week will change the Detroit Lions game plan at all. He will likely be forced to wear a glove though, something he’s struggled with in the past. "I said 'Just call the game. Don't worry about me. I'll figure it out,'" Stafford said. "So plan on being the same way, you know, this week." … An MRI on Cam Newton's banged up shoulder came back clean this week, and he is fully expected to play on Monday Night Football … Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones continues to cause unwarranted controversy for the top seed in the NFC once again opening the door for a Tony Romo return. Jones alluded to this saying, “I don't have a definition, but you'll know it when you see it." This was about knowing when or if they'd be going back to Romo. Head coach Jason Garrett insists Dallas will be sticking with rookie Dak Prescott. "You can make it as simple or complex as you want to make it," Garrett said. "It's pretty simple for us. Dak's going to play quarterback as we go forward."

Despite flirting with turning to E.J. Manuel, head coach Rex Ryan confirmed that the team would be sticking with Tyrod Taylor as the starter this week … The New England Patriots are expected to activatve Jacoby Brissett from injured reserve … Chicago Bears head coach John Fox is pleasantly pleased by what he’s seen out of Matt Barkley thus far. "He’s been thrown in on the road in Green Bay. He came in and started with a week’s work and performed well [against the Titans]," Fox said. "And then really to come here [against the Lions] on the road against a good football team in a loud environment, I just continue to be impressed by the kid’s performance."

Running Backs

Adrian Peterson is ready to return to the Minnesota Vikings this week after being sidelined since suffering a Week 2 knee injury. His workload is a complete unknown … Theo Riddick is doubtful to play this week with a wrist injury, and Zach Zenner remains in the concussion protocol. This opens the door for a lot of touches for Dwayne Washington … Melvin Gordon was carted off with a hip injury last week and has been ruled out for Week 15. Kenneth Farrow and Ronnie Hillman are expected to share the bulk of the touches … Matt Forte was forced out of Sunday's game with a torn meniscus. He still wants to play this week. However, he could be sidelined completely or see a vastly decreased snap count. Bilal Powell is expected to see the majority of the work on Saturday Night Football … James Starks is doubtful with a concussion this week.

The Pittsburgh Steelers are expected to slap Le'Veon Bell with a franchise tag this offseason … Shane Vereen returned from injured reserve Week 14 and was promptly knocked out with a concussion … Darren McFadden is expected to active this week for the first time all season … Darren Sproles has been ruled out with a concussion after taking a brutal hit on a punt return last week. Wendell Smallwood has also been placed on injured reserve … Denard Robinson will sit out for the Jacksonville Jaguars this week with an ankle injury … The Rams placed Benny Cunningham on injured reserve due to a neck injury before Thursday Night Football … The Baltimore Ravens placed Lorenzo Taliaferro on injured reserve … DeAngelo Williams is expected to return this week.

Wide Receivers

The Atlanta Falcons have ruled out Julio Jones for Week 15 … The Cincinnati Bengals plan to put A.J. Green through a pregame workout this week. However, they are “not optimistic” he’ll be able to suit up this week. He’s targeting a Week 16 return … Dorial Green-Beckham is expected to return this week … Marquess Wilson's season is over as he re-broke his foot and Eddie Royal has been ruled out for this week. The good news is Alshon Jeffery's four-game suspension is over, and he's ready to roll for Sunday … Donte Moncrief is doubtful this week … Allen Hurns has once again been ruled out … The Arizona Cardinals waived Michael Floyd this week after he was arrested for DUI and he was claimed by the Patriots. They waived Griff Whalen to make room … The Houston Texans placed Braxton Miller on injured reserve with a shoulder injury.

Tight Ends

C.J. Fiedorowicz has been ruled out for Week 15 with a concussion … The Bears signed MyCole Pruitt off the Vikings’ practice squad … The San Francisco 49ers have placed Vance McDonald on injured reserve.
