Prescription Notes From Week 15

Dr. Roto breaks down the biggest news from Week 15's slate of NFL action from a Fantasy perspective!

Prescription Notes for Week 15

-- Finally! The Texans decided to bench their atrocious QB Brock Osweiler and play backup Tom Savage. After that occurred WR DeAndre Hopkins looked like a prisoner freed from his shackles the way he was running all over the field. I am not sure that Savage is the answer, but I am certain that Bill O'Brien made the right move to help his team make the playoffs.

-- If the Fantasy playoffs ended right now I have to give Bills RB LeSean McCoy the MVP Award. He is a must play in seasonal leagues as well as DFS and has another home game in Week 16 vs. Miami.

-- The Buccaneers lost a close game to Dallas on Sunday night, but I think that they proved they belong with the upper echelon teams. The biggest problem is that there was no answer to stopping Cowboys RB Ezekiel Elliott. Elliott probably won't be named the league's MVP, but I am not sure that there has been a better player in 2016. BTW any chance of Tony Romo starting is now gone after Dak Prescott went 32/36 for 280 yards.

-- Titans HC Mike Mularkey made a big decision by going for the two-point conversion to try to win the game on the road; conversely Chiefs HC Andy Reid called one of the most conservative games I have ever seen. Reid and QB Alex Smith neutered WR Tyreek Hill and TE Travis Kelce and effectively killed the Fantasy hopes for their owners.

-- Bears WR Alshon Jeffery is a great pickup for the last two weeks. He is motivated to play hard for a new contract, and QB Matt Barkley is trying to show that he can be the Bears’ starter for next year and beyond.

-- Admittedly, I started Chargers TE Antonio Gates in DFS this week thinking that the team wanted him to break Tony Gonzalez’s TE TD record. There’s only one problem—Gates is so slow off the line that he cannot get open. Hunter Henry is a name that will be on my mind for sure during Fantasy drafts in 2017.

-- The Jacksonville Jaguars fired HC Gus Bradley after their game on Sunday. While Bradley led the team to a huge number of losses, he was saddled with Blake Bortles, who was totally overrated and not a quality NFL QB from the get-go.

-- I have to give a ton of credit to Colts QB Andrew Luck. He went into a hostile environment not playing healthy and did an amazing job. Next week he must go into Oakland and pull off another upset. Watch out for T.Y. Hilton in that game. The Raiders CBs are tall and strong but not nearly fast enough to keep up with Hilton.

-- The Falcons have won the last two weeks without Julio Jones which has helped the team’s confidence.  Not only that, it has shown the emergence of Aldrick Robinson and Taylor Gabriel—two young WRs who have a bright future with the team and with Fantasy owners.
