Quarterbacks

Miami Dolphins starter Ryan Tannehill is reportedly making “every effort” to return from his knee injury this season. "They haven't told me that we should shut him down yet," head coach Adam Gase said. "That's all I know." Dolphins offensive coordinator Clyde Christensen had high praise for backup Matt Moore. "He's always reminded me of Matt Hasselbeck," Christensen said. "He could start for a bunch of teams." … Despite talk of benching multiple times this season due to lackluster play and the team drafting Paxton Lynch in the first round of the 2016 NFL Draft, it's being reported Trevor Siemian could be earning an opportunity to be the long-term starter according to the NFL Network … Cleveland Browns head coach Hue Jackson said that rookie Cody Kessler is getting extra reps in practice this week. Robert Griffin III is still expected to start, but he is inching closer and closer to losing the job to Kessler yet again.

Savage has been named the starter moving forward ... Oakland Raiders head coach Jack Del Rio admitted this week that Derek Carr’s inability to play under center due to his finger injury is “an issue.” "At some point, we will feel better about going under center, we will," Del Rio said, "but until then, we’ll execute the best we can out of the formations we feel most comfortable with." … Jacksonville Jaguars interim head coach Doug Marrone plans on “sticking with” Blake Bortles to finish out the season … Philadelphia Eagles second-overall pick Carson Wentz went down with a head injury on Thursday Night Football but cleared the concussion protocol … Los Angeles Rams first-overall pick Jared Goff has completed the league’s concussion protocol and is good to go for Week 16 … The New England Patriots have activated rookie Jacoby Brissett from injured reserve … The New York Giants placed Ryan Nassib on injured reserve with an elbow injury.

Barring an unexpected playoff appearance by the Minnesota Vikings, Adrian Peterson's disappointing season has likely come to an anticlimactic ending after a brief return from a knee injury Week 15 … The San Diego Chargers have once again ruled out Melvin Gordon … The Green Bay Packers have ruled out James Starks. Ty Montgomery will get another feature-back opportunity … Jeremy Hill is expected to be ready to play on Christmas Eve … Lamar Miller will be a game-time decision on Saturday Night Football. He didn't practice all week and is in danger of sitting this one out … Matt Forte is considered doubtful for Week 16 with a knee injury … Theo Riddick will sit out another game this week for the Detroit Lions … Ryan Mathews suffered a herniated disc in the Eagles Thursday night victory, and he will miss the season finale. Kenjon Barner was also placed on injured reserve. Darren Sproles returned on Thursday Night Football and the team signed Terrell Watson from their practice squad … Jamaal Charles season is officially over. He’s been placed on injured reserve … Broncos head coach Gary Kubiak says it’s unlikely C.J. Anderson returns this season. He’s currently on injured reserve with a knee injury … The Seattle Seahawks are optimistic they’ll have C.J. Prosise for the playoffs … DeAngelo Williams is expected to return Week 16 … The Jags have once again ruled out Denard Robinson.

Wide Receivers

A.J. Green has been cleared to play and is expected to return to action this weekend … The Jags have once again ruled out Allen Hurns … Julio Jones will also return this week and has been completely removed from the Atlanta Falcons injury report … Sammie Coates is doubtful to play on Christmas night … The San Francisco 49ers have placed Torrey Smith on injured reserve due to a concussion he suffered Week 14 … Buffalo Bills general manager Doug Whaley says getting Robert Woods under contract this offseason is “at the top of our list” … According to Indianapolis Colts head coach Chuck Pagano, Donte Moncrief is “ready to go” for Week 16 … Larry Fitzgerald says he wants to play his entire career with the Arizona Cardinals. "I will never play anywhere else," said Fitzgerald. "This is where I want to be. This is where I want to retire." … After more details had come out this week regarding Michael Floyds DUI arrest, New England Patriots head coach Bill Belichick said they were not aware of Floyd's .217 blood alcohol level when they picked him up off waivers from the Cardinals … Oakland Raiders offensive coordinator Bill Musgrave intends to get Amari Cooper more involved this week. "That’s one thing we want to do each and every week is feature our premier guys and get [Cooper] his touches," Musgrave said. "So, we need to make up for lost ground there." … Browns head coach Jackson views Terrelle Pryor as a key piece for the team’s future. "I think he is only going to get better as he moves forward," Jackson added. However, former Browns wideout Brian Hartline was not so kind in his opinion of Pryor’s future with the team. "Is he my No. 1? God, I hope not," Hartline said. "You don't know what you're going to get. You don't know who's going to show up. You don't know if he's going to get in trouble. You don't know if he's going to smart off. ... Is he a No. 2? I mean maybe. He disappeared the last couple weeks. ... You're a flash in the pan. Jordan Reed is officially listed as questionable for Week 16, but head coach Jay Gruden is not optimistic he’ll be out there … The Cincinnati Bengals have ruled out Tyler Eifert for this week … Ladarius Green is listed as doubtful for this weekend’s showdown for the AFC North crown … Rookie Austin Hooper will miss this week’s game for the Falcons … The 49ers placed Blake Bell on injured reserve a week after losing Vance McDonald for the season and signed Jim Dray.
