I hope everyone had a great holiday and are ready to win some money in these final few days of 2016. The NHL is back after a long three-day break, and I am here to help break down the slate. I hope you read my mid-season report that is live in the forums. Time to open the second half of the NHL season with a win!

Mr. Pucks’ Profound Three

I was asked if these are three players people should use. What I suggest is building around at least one of my three choices. Let us take a look at my top three.

Sidney Crosby (Pit) - Center - ($9200 FD / $8500 DK)

The worst thing that could have happened to the Devils is facing Crosby after three days of rest. Currently, on a four-game streak, Sid will look to extend that to five tonight as his Pens head into New Jersey for the second part of a home and home series. He had seven shots and a power play goal in his last game, and I can see seven more tonight with a goal and a power play assist.

Tyler Seguin (Dal) - Center - ($8300 FD / $7600 DK)

This is not a pick many will be comfortable with, but Seguin is the team's best player, and he has had three days of rest. He and the Stars head to Arizona to take on the Coyotes, who are the worst team in the NHL on defense. Seguin should easily score tonight and place five shots on net, plus add two assists as well. Very nice GPP play as most won't be on this game. Alex Ovechkin (Wash) - Wing - ($8800 FD / $8300 DK)

The second half of the season is when the Stars take over. Ovechkin has had a good first half, but not good by his standards. Tonight he will start his run at the scoring championship when his Caps head into New York to take on the Islanders. Ovie is a force on the ice and should have no problems putting the biscuit in the basket. I can see a powerplay goal, two assists and five shots on net, with a blocked shot.

Mr. Pucks’ Sleeper play of the night

Zemgus Girgensons (Buf) - Wing - ($3400 FD / $3800 DK)

Girgensons has been horrible this season, it is like he is skating on water at times. I know, you're probably wonder why him? Well, he has been the talk of trade rumors, and I think this talk helps him step his game up. He faces a Red Wings team that are a wreck in goal, and the youngster should sneak one in tonight. I like him for a goal and three shots. GPP only play, unless you are punting a position in cash.

Teams To Target

A few teams to target and build your lineups around.

Dallas Stars - What I like about the stars is no one will be on them tonight. These guys are a great gpp play tonight as I think they score five on the Coyotes. The top line pairing of Seguin/Benn should provide enough offense to put your lineup ahead of most. The third line of Hudler-Spezza-McKenzie will chip in a goal and nine shots as well, as I expect them to turn into the second line as far as ice time goes. Klingberg and the other Benn are solid defensive plays.

Anaheim Ducks - The Ducks are starting to make noise and starting to gel as a team. The line of Cogliano-Kesler-Silfverberg have been pure fire this season, They have been one of the top scoring lines in the last ten games. Also Rakell-Getzlaf-Perry is a top choice, just very pricey. Defensively speaking, Cam Fowler is the man and one of the best in the game.

Pittsburgh Penguins - I will only target their top two lines, leaning more towards Malkin's line. Rust is a cheap option at wing if he starts on Crosby's line again. I like Cole and Schultz on the defensive side of the puck as they both are top 10 in plus/minus.

Washington Capitals - I love the Caps ability to score and score often. As always the line if Williams-Kuznetsov-Ovechkin is in play. Oshie-Backstrom-Johansson should provide enough secondary scoring to give you another option over the top line. Carlson on defense had a great game before the break with two goals. I hope his momentum continues in this one.

Buffalo Sabres - For Buffalo, the Eichel line is a top choice, along with the O'Rielly line. Defensively only one player need be named, Ristolainen, I would even use him as a standalone. Also Consider - Minnesota top line, SJ top line and Burns on defense, Detroit top line, Boston top two lines and Carlo/Chara on Defense.

**As always check before puck drop to see starting goalies, as things change**

I will list a few goalies and if you want them in cash, gpp, or both.

Gibson - GPP/ Cash
Dubnyk - GPP/Cash
Bobrovsky - GPP
Murray - GPP/Cash
Rask - GPP Johnson - GPP
Hellebuyck - GPP
