11 Week 17 DFS & Season-Long Sleepers

The Former No. 1 Fantasy Football Player in the World Mark Deming provides Week 17 sleepers from a season-long and NFL DFS perspective!

*** Criteria for Sleeper QBs is players priced $5,000 or less on DraftKings (DK). Criteria for Sleeper WR/RB/TEs are players priced $4,900 or less on DK. This Sleepers article is designed to accommodate both DFS and season-long players. Remember to double-check all injuries and scenarios as Week 17 is unique.

QB Matt Moore, Miami Dolphins

The Dolphins offense is worth a look in Week 17 vs. the Pats. Moore has thrown for six TDs and two INTs and is 2-0 as a starter. Football is about making big plays and the Dolphins are doing just that, and you can expect the Pats produce as well. That means a high-scoring affair. The Dolphins are 3-0 vs. the Pats in the last three matchups at Sun Life Stadium. Moore could easily be 200/2 for $5,000 in a game that could be loose.

QB Alex Smith , Kansas City Chiefs

The Chiefs offense is unique, clicking, and playmakers Travis Kelce and Tyreek Hill are playing elite football. Smith is priced at $5,000 and playing in command and confidently. The Chargers and Philip Rivers won’t go out without a fight so Smith could have an uncovered stat line. Smith’s best Fantasy performance of the year was against San Diego in Week 1 where he put up 32.02 DK points.

RB Dion Lewis, New England Patriots

Look for the Pats to spread out the banged up Dolphins secondary and Lewis could be the Pats RB who could benefit the most. Lewis ability to run for tough yards and catch the ball could spell a solid game. Lewis had six receptions for 93 and two TDs (rushing/receiving) in a 2015 game vs. the Phins. This game could be played loose and priced at $4,400 take a shot on Lewis.

RB Ronnie Hillman, San Diego Chargers

With Kenneth Farrow on the IR, Hillman should see a bulk of the action and have a chance to catch passes from Rivers. In Hillman's last game vs. the Chiefs (as a member of the Broncos), he had a two TDs, which included both a rushing and receiving TD. Not a bad $3,700 sleeper option to consider if seeking a value RB or Flex.

RB Isaiah Crowell, Cleveland Browns

Crowell is coming off his best Fantasy game of the year since Week 4. Look for the Browns to establish the run vs. a Steelers defense that could be all backups at some point. Crowell could be an excellent GPP look, as players won't be targeting Browns but Crowell could close strong in Week 17. Crowell does have three 20+ and six 15+ DK games, that’s more than Todd Gurley ($5,300), so Crowell's $4,400 price seems steep but is accurate.

WR Steve Smith, Baltimore Ravens

In a week where players try to avoid players that could sit or have already mentally checked out, Steve Smith is sure to give 110%. Smith caught all seven of his targets vs. the Steelers and if this is indeed his final game, you can bet SS will show out. In seven career games vs. the Bengals, Smith has six TDs and four 100+ yard receiving games.

WR J.J. Nelson, Arizona Cardinals

In case you haven’t been watching, J.J. is the hot hand in the Cardinals offense. Nelson has scored 59.4 DK points in three games for an average of 19.8, pretty solid for $4,600. In a year where many are constantly chasing WR value, look no further than Nelson. The Cards are coming off a huge win in Seattle and don’t expect Bruce Arians to concede to a division rival.

WR Jermaine Kearse, Seattle Seahawks

With a brutal injury that sent Tyler Lockett to injured reserve, Jermaine Kearse looks to be prominent in Week 17 vs. the 49ers. The 49ers have allowed 22 TDs to WRs, second-most in the league. In a must-win game for Seattle, look for Wilson to lean on the veteran Kearse priced right at $4,000.

WR Kenny Stills, Miami Dolphins

If you play in standard scoring or value a “TD per dollar” DFS model, look no further than Kenny Stills’ current hot streak. Stills has a TD in three straight and four of five games. The Dolphins have been deploying a big play strategy, and Stills is the WR benefactor. Stills scored a TD in the Week 2 game vs. the Pats if you're playing the numbers on the $3,900 WR.

TE Antonio Gates, San Diego Chargers

Eliminated from the playoffs and coming off a loss to the Browns, look for SD to feed Antonio Gates in what could be an emotional game in San Diego. Gates has 15 career TDs in 23 games vs. the Chiefs, nine of those TDs have come at San Diego. At $3,900 Gates is the 13th-priced TE, not a bad option given the potential game flow.

TE Eric Ebron, Detroit Lions

The Lions at home playing for their playoff lives should get Ebron involved. Ebron was the one Lions player who impressed me on MNF by catching 8 for 93 and playing with passion when some Lions were flat. With Matthew Stafford’s hand injury, Ebron is potentially going to be the top target. At $3,600, I love the upside.
