Quarterbacks

New Buffalo Bills head coach Sean McDermott was non-committal regarding Tyrod Taylor’s future with the organization during his introductory press conference … Ben Roethlisberger has been removed from the Pittsburgh Steelers final injury report leading into the AFC Divisional Round of the playoffs. “His foot shouldn’t be an issue,” according to head coach Mike Tomlin … New Denver Broncos head coach Vance Joseph is anticipating an open competition for the starting job between Trevor Siemian, Paxton Lynch and perhaps another quarterback heading into the 2017 season … New Jacksonville Jaguars executive vice president Tom Coughlin says that Blake Bortles is the team’s quarterback moving forward. Coughlin has final say on all decisions while under his current role … Miami Dolphins head coach Adam Gase says the team is currently evaluating Ryan Tannehill’s knee injury. "I don’t have the information to tell you what’s going on, where exactly we’re at and what happens moving forward," Gase said. "Doctors are still giving us what possibly could be down the road. So it’s hard for us to really pinpoint anything as of this moment right now."

Tom Savage has passed the final stage of the NFL’s concussion protocol. He’s practicing fully this week, however, he will still be backing up Brock Osweiler this weekend when the Houston Texans travel to take on the New England Patriots … Baltimore Ravens owner Steve Bisciotti stated this week that the team needs and expects more out of franchise QB Joe Flacco. "We need to get more out of Joe,” Bisciotti said. “I think Joe would agree with that." … The Minnesota Vikings are expected to exercise Teddy Bridgewater’s fifth-year option … New York Giants general manager Jerry Reese conceded this week that while Eli Manning isn’t “ancient” he is “probably on the back nine of his career.” "Eli is 36," Reese said. "So we will look into that as we move into the offseason."

Running Backs

LeGarrette Blount was dealing with an illness this week and did miss practice time but is not on the Pats’ final injury report … James Starks has been ruled out for this weekend’s game. Ty Montgomery will get the start and handle the bulk of the work … C.J. Anderson expects to be ready for Broncos training camp … C.J. Prosise is listed as questionable and will be a gametime decision this weekend for the Seattle Seahawks. He’s still a bit of a long shot to play … Spencer Ware is ready to roll for the Kansas City Chiefs. Jamaal Charles says he wants to continue his NFL career … Troubled Los Angeles Rams star Tre Mason was arrested once again on Tuesday on a warrant for fleeing and evading without regards for others safety in Florida … Jonathan Stewart is not a lock to be on the Carolina Panthers 2017 roster.

Latavius Murray says he wants to remain with the Oakland Raiders on a long-term basis. "I wanna stay put and finish what I started," Murray said … The Dolphins have signed Storm Johnson … Ravens head coach John Harbaugh admitted he wants to improve the team’s RB corps despite the emergence of Kenneth Dixon. "We need another back," Harbaugh said. "We have not run the football well enough or enough, really, for the last two years. That has to change." … Ameer Abdullah expects to be fully healthy for the start of Detroit Lions OTAs. General manager Bob Quinn says he believes Abdullah and Theo Riddick both have the potential to be a feature back.

Wide Receivers

Jordy Nelson has been ruled out for the Divisional Round of the playoffs with multiple fractured ribs. Jeff Janis is questionable but expected to suit up. Randall Cobb is good to go … Malcolm Mitchell is listed as questionable for this weekend’s game and is more like than not to be inactive … The Dolphins intend to make a strong push to re-sign Kenny Stills this offseason. The team is fully expected to re-sign Jarvis Landry … DeAndre Hopkins says his knee feels “excellent” and he is not on the Texans’ final injury report. Jaelen Strong is recovering from a minor ankle surgery … Nelson Agholor wants to work on and improve his mental approach to the game this offseason. "It’s something that I should have just allowed to flow," Agholor said. "I think too many times in the season when I was in those moments, I was trying to be the controller of things. And I’m not. ... I’m just a player, and this is a reaction game." … Steve Smith says he is retired and is not coming back despite the owner hoping he returned to the Ravens in some capacity … The Giants have signed Kevin Norwood and Darius Powell … The New York Jets have signed Myles White and Deshon Foxx.

The Vikings may be moving on from Jarius Wright this offseason … Marvin Jones says his season “wasn’t good at all” by his standards.  "When you look at how I started, you wouldn't think it would end this way," Jones said. "Obviously, I had some uncharacteristic drops here and there and early on. I never had a season like this. I don't know what to say." Veteran teammate Anquan Boldin wants to continue his professional career. "Yeah," Boldin said. "I haven’t sat down with my family at this point, but there’s still a passion that burns within me for football." … The Chicago Bears have signed Rueben Randle … Giants GM Reese believes Odell Beckham Jr. needs to grow up.  "He needs to look in the mirror and be honest with himself. We’ll help him with that, but he has to help himself," said Reese. "We all had to grow up at different times in our lives. I think it’s time for him to do it now. He’s been here three years now." Teammate Victor Cruz “absolutely” wants to remain with the team "This is family," Cruz said. "This is home. I don't know anywhere else. I don't want to know anywhere else."

Tight Ends

Ladarius Green is doubtful for the Steelers this weekend … Austin Hooper is expected to return from a knee injury for the Atlanta Falcons … Dion Sims says HC Gase told him he wants him back as the starter next season. "He told me he wants me back as a No. 1," Sims said. "I want to be back. I have obviously proven myself to be a starting tight end in the league and want to continue in that role. I’ve done some great things this year and improved a lot."
