  • Josiah Deguara GB TE
Jaguars' Josiah Deguara: Inking with Jacksonville
    2h ago

The Jaguars are slated to sign Deguara to a one-year contract, Jordan Schultz of BleacherReport.com reports.

Deguara spent the last four seasons handling a depth role in Green Bay, where he was drafted in the third round back in 2020. His versatility both as a blocker and on special teams will boost his chances of earning playing time behind Evan Engram, but Deguara peaked with a 25-245-2 receiving line in 2021 and doesn't appear to have much fantasy potential.

  • J.K. Dobbins BAL RB
J.K. Dobbins: Lines up AFC West visit
    4h ago

Dobbins (Achilles) is visiting the Chargers on Thursday, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.

Dobbins, who was recently medically cleared for football activities, is coming off a left Achilles tear after previously missing all of 2021 and about half of the 2022 season due to a torn ACL and proceeding issues. That medical history undercuts otherwise impressive career numbers for Dobbins, who has averaged 5.8 yards per carry and scored 13 touchdowns since entering the NFL in 2020 as a second-round pick by the Ravens, but only suited up for 24 games in that span. Reuniting with offensive coordinator Greg Roman could make the most sense as a landing spot for Dobbins, but it's possible he doesn't garner more interest than a potential prove-it deal. The Chargers signed Gus Edwards,a former Baltimore backfield mate of Dobbins, early in free agency.

Texans' Derek Stingley: Slow start, strong finish
    4h ago

Stingley recorded 39 tackles, 13 passes defensed and five interceptions over 11 regular-season games in 2023.

Stingley, a second-year cornerback and 2022 first-round draft pick, suffered a Week 3 hamstring that created issues for the defense early on, but upon his return Week 10, Stingley made an impact. He had interceptions in three straight games, including a Week 13 win over the Broncos. Stingley will return as Houston's top cornerback in 2024.

Houston-Carson recorded 41 tackles, five passes defensed, two interceptions and one fumble recovery over 13 regular-season games in 2023.

Houston-Carson started the season in Baltimore then finished up in Houston, where he played a career-high 447 snaps on defense. Injuries on the back end led to Houston-Carson playing a big role for the Texans, including two pivotal plays in a Week 10 win over the Bengals. He entered unrestricted free agency during the offseason.

  • Jimmie Ward HOU SAF
    Texans' Jimmie Ward: Injury-marred 2023
    4h ago

Ward (quadriceps) recorded 50 tackles, three passes defensed, one interception and one forced fumble over 10 games in 2023.

Ward, a team captain, was beset by injuries all season long. He missed time due to hip, hamstring and shoulder injuries before a quadricep ended his season in December. In between the setbacks, Ward played well, and his one interception was an end-zone pick that sealed a win over Denver. Houston went 6-4 in games he played and could use his stabilizing presence on the back end. Ward turns 33 in July and will be entering his 11th season.

Texans' Henry To'oTo'o: Contributes in rookie season
    4h ago

To'oTo'o recorded 61 tackles, two passes defensed, one forced fumble and one fumble recovery over 15 regular-season games in 2023.

To'oTo'o, a fifth-round draft pick out of Alabama, started from Week 2 to Week 7 and played in both of Houston's playoff games during his rookie season. The Texans lost two linebackers to free agency -- Blake Cashman and Denzel Perryman -- which leaves To'oTo'o as a projected starter for 2024. However, Houston is expected to address the position during the offseason.

  • Anthony Edwards MIN SG
Timberwolves' Anthony Edwards: Subpar against Detroit

Edwards totaled nine points (4-11 FG, 1-4 3Pt, 0-2 FT), three rebounds, five assists and one steal across 29 minutes during Wednesday's 106-91 win over Detroit.

Edwards had one of his lowest scoring performances of the season Wednesday, failing to reach double digits for just the seventh time in the current campaign, and overall, he looked rusty and out of sync most of the time. Edwards is simply too talented to struggle for a prolonged stretch, however, and he should be able to bounce back when the Timberwolves take on the Nuggets in a marquee matchup Friday.

Pelicans' Jose Alvarado: Won't play Thursday
    7m ago

Alvarado (hip) has been ruled out for Thursday's game against the Bucks.

Alvarado left Tuesday's loss to the Thunder in the fourth quarter due to right hip soreness but is now listed with a right oblique strain. His next chance to suit up will come Saturday versus Boston, but depending on how severe the strain is, Alvarado may be looking at a multi-game absence. In Alvarado's stead, Jordan Hawkins could carve out meaningful minutes again, especially with Brandon Ingram (knee) sidelined for a few weeks.

In addition to slotting into a top-line role, Eriksson Ek figures to also be on the No. 1 power-play unit where he has notched 19 of his 60 points this season.

  • Charlie Lindgren WAS G
Capitals' Charlie Lindgren: Slated to start Thursday
    23m ago

Lindgren is expected to get the road start Thursday against the Maple Leafs, Bailey Johnson of The Washington Post reports.

Lindgren has largely supplanted Darcy Kuemper as the Capitals' lead goaltender in recent weeks and his 2.12 GAA and .929 save percentage behind a 8-2-0 record over the last 10 games is a significant reason why the Capitals are currently sitting in a playoff position. A road start against the Maple Leafs is never an easy assignment but with Auston Matthews (illness) questionable and the Toronto already without Mitch Marner (ankle) and Morgan Reilly (upper body), Lindgren has a chance to face a less potent Toronto attack than normal. Those who have ridden the 30-year-old's fortunes to the fantasy playoffs should continue to do so.
