Josiah Deguara GB TE
Jaguars' Josiah Deguara: Inking with Jacksonville
1h agoThe Jaguars are slated to sign Deguara to a one-year contract, Jordan Schultz of BleacherReport.com reports.
Deguara spent the last four seasons handling a depth role in Green Bay, where he was drafted in the third round back in 2020. His versatility both as a blocker and on special teams will boost his chances of earning playing time behind Evan Engram, but Deguara peaked with a 25-245-2 receiving line in 2021 and doesn't appear to have much fantasy potential.

J.K. Dobbins BAL RB
J.K. Dobbins: Lines up AFC West visit
3h agoDobbins (Achilles) is visiting the Chargers on Thursday, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
Dobbins, who was recently medically cleared for football activities, is coming off a left Achilles tear after previously missing all of 2021 and about half of the 2022 season due to a torn ACL and proceeding issues. That medical history undercuts otherwise impressive career numbers for Dobbins, who has averaged 5.8 yards per carry and scored 13 touchdowns since entering the NFL in 2020 as a second-round pick by the Ravens, but only suited up for 24 games in that span. Reuniting with offensive coordinator Greg Roman could make the most sense as a landing spot for Dobbins, but it's possible he doesn't garner more interest than a potential prove-it deal. The Chargers signed Gus Edwards,a former Baltimore backfield mate of Dobbins, early in free agency.

Derek Stingley Jr. HOU CB
Texans' Derek Stingley: Slow start, strong finish
3h agoStingley recorded 39 tackles, 13 passes defensed and five interceptions over 11 regular-season games in 2023.
Stingley, a second-year cornerback and 2022 first-round draft pick, suffered a Week 3 hamstring that created issues for the defense early on, but upon his return Week 10, Stingley made an impact. He had interceptions in three straight games, including a Week 13 win over the Broncos. Stingley will return as Houston's top cornerback in 2024.

DeAndre Houston-Carson HOU DB
DeAndre Houston-Carson: Enters free agency
3h agoHouston-Carson recorded 41 tackles, five passes defensed, two interceptions and one fumble recovery over 13 regular-season games in 2023.
Houston-Carson started the season in Baltimore then finished up in Houston, where he played a career-high 447 snaps on defense. Injuries on the back end led to Houston-Carson playing a big role for the Texans, including two pivotal plays in a Week 10 win over the Bengals. He entered unrestricted free agency during the offseason.
-
Jimmie Ward HOU SAF
Texans' Jimmie Ward: Injury-marred 2023
3h agoWard (quadriceps) recorded 50 tackles, three passes defensed, one interception and one forced fumble over 10 games in 2023.
Ward, a team captain, was beset by injuries all season long. He missed time due to hip, hamstring and shoulder injuries before a quadricep ended his season in December. In between the setbacks, Ward played well, and his one interception was an end-zone pick that sealed a win over Denver. Houston went 6-4 in games he played and could use his stabilizing presence on the back end. Ward turns 33 in July and will be entering his 11th season.

Henry To'oTo'o HOU LB
Texans' Henry To'oTo'o: Contributes in rookie season
4h agoTo'oTo'o recorded 61 tackles, two passes defensed, one forced fumble and one fumble recovery over 15 regular-season games in 2023.
To'oTo'o, a fifth-round draft pick out of Alabama, started from Week 2 to Week 7 and played in both of Houston's playoff games during his rookie season. The Texans lost two linebackers to free agency -- Blake Cashman and Denzel Perryman -- which leaves To'oTo'o as a projected starter for 2024. However, Houston is expected to address the position during the offseason.

Gerrit Cole NYY SP
Yankees' Gerrit Cole: Placed on 60-day IL
5m agoThe Yankees placed Cole on the 60-day injured list Thursday with right elbow inflammation.
The initial timetable for Cole's return from his right elbow injury was 1-to-2 months, but clearly it's going to be closer to the latter end of that span. The hope is that the reigning American League Cy Young winner will be ready to begin a throwing program in a couple weeks, but the Yankees will not rush what will be a slow and steady build-up.
-
Jonah Bride MIA 3B
Marlins' Jonah Bride: Recalled from Triple-A
14m agoThe Marlins recalled Bride from Triple-A Jacksonville on Thursday, Christina De Nicola of MLB.com reports.
Miami had sent Bride to minor-league camp earlier this month, but he'll now fill the roster spot vacated by the trade of Jon Berti. Bride will provide depth at multiple infield spots.
-
Joshua Lowe TB RF
Rays' Josh Lowe: Hits IL, will miss beyond 10 days
17m agoThe Rays placed Lowe (oblique) on the 10-day injured list Thursday.
Though Lowe is dealing with a Grade 1 right oblique strain -- the most mild degree of strain -- he has yet to resume baseball activities and is on track to miss more than the minimum 10 days. According to MLB.com, Lowe will essentially need to complete a full spring training progression once he's cleared for activities, so at this stage, he's likely tracking for a late-April or early-May return. While Lowe is on the shelf to open the season, Richie Palacios, Harold Ramirez and Amed Rosario could all be in store for extra playing time in the corner outfield or at designated hitter.
-
Robert Stephenson LAA RP
Angels' Robert Stephenson: IL move made official
22m agoThe Angels placed Stephenson on the 15-day injured list Thursday with right shoulder inflammation.
The 31-year-old recently resumed throwing but remains without a timetable to make his season debut. Once healthy, Stephenson is poised to serve in a setup role in front of closer Carlos Estevez.
-
Michael Stefanic LAA 2B
Angels' Michael Stefanic: Lands on 10-day IL
24m agoThe Angels placed Stefanic (quadricep) on the 10-day injured list Thursday.
Stefanic initially strained his left quad in late February and suffered a setback last week. It's not clear at this point how long the utility infielder might be sidelined.
-
Zak Kent TEX SP
Guardians' Zak Kent: Dealt to Cleveland
26m agoThe Guardians acquired Kent from the Rangers on Thursday in exchange for international bonus pool money.
Kent was one of two pitchers Cleveland traded for in advance of Opening Day, with Peter Strzelecki also coming aboard in a deal with Arizona. Though both new arrivals will claim spots on the 40-man roster, neither will join the team for Thursday's season opener in Oakland and will instead be ticketed Triple-A Columbus. The 26-year-old Kent, who has yet to make his MLB debut, posted a 3.97 ERA, 1.06 WHIP and 34:10 K:BB in 10 starts at Triple-A Round Rock in 2023, but it's unclear whether or not the Guardians intend to keep him on a starter's development track or move him to the bullpen.
-
Pascal Siakam IND PF
Pacers' Pascal Siakam: Held in check against Chicago
2m agoSiakam registered 14 points (2-7 FG, 1-1 3Pt, 9-11 FT), eight rebounds and five assists across 30 minutes during Wednesday's 125-99 loss to the Bulls.
Siakam's season-low seven field-goal attempts led to one of his lowest-scoring outputs of 2023-24 on Wednesday. However, the star forward still was able to lead Indiana in rebounds during their blowout loss. Despite Siakam's poor shooting night, he is still converting 54.0 percent of his field-goal attempts across his 14 appearances in March.
-
Clint Capela ATL C
Hawks' Clint Capela: Records another double-double
3m agoCapela accumulated 13 points (5-5 FG, 3-6 FT), 10 rebounds, one assist, three blocks and four steals in 27 minutes during Wednesday's 120-106 victory over the Trail Blazers.
Capela posted his fourth consecutive double-double, and the veteran big man has now reached that tally in nine of his last 10 appearances, showing an excellent understanding with Dejounte Murray and also being a standout presence on the defensive end. Capela will aim to keep that streak alive when hosting the Celtics on Thursday.
-
Dejounte Murray ATL PG
Hawks' Dejounte Murray: Double-double streak snapped
5m agoMurray supplied 30 points (13-20 FG, 4-8 3Pt), three rebounds, seven assists, two blocks and two steals in 35 minutes during Wednesday's 120-106 victory over the Trail Blazers.
Murray failed to record a sixth consecutive double-double, but the versatile guard continues to make a massive impact on the offensive end of the court as a primary scorer and playmaker for a Hawks team that continues to operate without Trae Young (finger). Murray's impact has been massive for the Hawks, as he's averaging 27.7 points, 9.3 assists, 4.9 rebounds and 2.6 steals per game over his last 10 appearances. To note, Atlanta has gone 5-5 in that span.
-
Andrew Nembhard IND PG
Pacers' Andrew Nembhard: Leads team in scoring
6m agoNembhard chipped in 18 points (7-12 FG, 3-5 3Pt, 1-2 FT), five rebounds, two assists and two steals across 34 minutes during Wednesday's 125-99 loss to the Bulls.
Nembhard's efficient shooting helped him lead Indiana in scoring during Wednesday's blowout loss to the Bulls. The 23-year-old guard has now recorded at least one steal in three straight contests. Across his 14 appearances in March, Nembhard is posting 52.3/37.8/77.8 shooting splits.
-
Scoot Henderson POR PG
Trail Blazers' Scoot Henderson: Scores 15 with 16 shots
12m agoHenderson ended Wednesday's 120-106 loss to Atlanta with 15 points (6-16 FG, 2-5 3Pt, 1-1 FT), two rebounds, six assists and two steals across 32 minutes.
Henderson didn't have his best shooting performance Wednesday, and just like the rest of the Trail Blazers offense, he struggled in yet another loss. Henderson has now scored in double figures in eight games in a row and seems to be adjusting better to the pace of the NBA, but he won't go far in fantasy -- especially category-based leagues -- if he continues to shoot under 40 percent from the field. He's making just 39.7 percent of his shots during that eight-game span.
-
Toumani Camara POR SF
Trail Blazers' Toumani Camara: Efficient in loss to Atlanta
19m agoCamara supplied 17 points (7-9 FG, 3-4 3Pt), four rebounds, two assists and one steal over 30 minutes during Wednesday's 120-106 loss to Atlanta.
Even though Dalano Banton stole the show for the Blazers with his 31-point effort, Camara was highly efficient in the frontcourt, missing just two of his nine shots and scoring in double digits for the fourth consecutive game. He's averaging 14.0 points while shooting 55 percent from the field in that stretch. Expect Camara to continue seeing heavy minutes in the final weeks of the regular season as Portland's starting power forward.
-
Jean-Luc Foudy COL C
Avalanche's Jean-Luc Foudy: Recalled from AHL
4m agoFoudy was called up from AHL Colorado on Thursday.
Foudy scored a goal in his only NHL game of the season, back on March 6. He was recalled as the Avalanche have only 11 healthy forwards, as Valeri Nichushkin is questionable with a lower-body injury. Foudy had three goals and nine points in 18 AHL games before his recall.
-
Cayden Primeau MON G
Canadiens' Cayden Primeau: Tending twine Thursday
14m agoPrimeau will guard the home cage versus the Flyers on Thursday.
Primeau has made just 17 appearances this season, in part due to the club's decision to carry three netminders for more of the year. With Jake Allen in New Jersey, the 24-year-old Primeau has seen an increase in starts, though he remains the No. 2 option behind Sam Montembeault.
-
Anton Forsberg OTT G
Senators' Anton Forsberg: In goal Thursday
14m agoForsberg will be in the home crease versus Chicago on Thursday, TSN 1200 Ottawa reports.
Forsberg will get his first start in four games, after allowing four goals on 26 shots in a 5-2 loss to St. Louis on March 21. Forsberg is 12-12-0 with a 3.42 GAA and an .885 save percentage this season. The Blackhawks are averaging 2.21 goals this season, last in the NHL.
-
Thomas Chabot OTT D
Senators' Thomas Chabot: Not playing Thursday
18m agoChabot (undisclosed) will not be in the lineup Thursday versus Chicago, according to Ian Mendes of The Athletic.
Chabot has been dealing with a nagging issue for a couple of weeks, according to coach Jacques Martin. Chabot had an assist Wednesday in a 6-2 win over Buffalo, giving the defenseman 28 points in 44 games. He will be replaced on the blue line by Tyler Kleven, while Ridly Greig could see some power-play time on the second unit in place of Chabot.
-
Connor Hellebuyck WPG G
Jets' Connor Hellebuyck: Between pipes Thursday
19m agoHellebucyk will tend the twine for Thursday's home clash with the Golden Knights, Mitchell Clinton of the Jets' official site reports.
Hellebuyck is mired in a three-game losing streak during which he posted a 4.78 GAA and .862 save percentage. The netminder had only one other three-game slump this season, so he will no doubt be hoping to avoid his first four-game losing stretch of the year.
-
Jordan Binnington STL G
Blues' Jordan Binnington: Slated to start Thursday
30m agoBinnington is expected to guard the cage at home versus the Flames on Thursday, Matthew DeFranks of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports.
Binnington has suffered just one regulation loss in his last five outings, going 3-1-1 with a 2.55 GAA and .923 save percentage. The 30-year-old netminder should continue to see the majority of the workload down the stretch, though if the Blues find themselves outside of the playoff hunt, they could turn to Joel Hofer a little more.
