Fantasy Hockey: Scouting The NHL DFS - Tuesday, March 7

Cash in on DraftKings and FanDuel with FSWA Hockey Writer of the Year Mr. Pucks!

The NHL is giving us a great nine game slate filled with more value than one lineup can hold. Sunday was a fairly good day for us, and Kickman held it down yesterday with a great write-up. I hope to keep this streak going and see all the #ScoutArmy cashing in big time. Time to rush down the ice and score on glove side.

Mr. Pucks Profound Three

Max Pacioretty (Mon) -Wing- ($7700 FD / $6600 DK)

Patches, Patches, Patches... Do I really need to go into why he makes my list? With 58 points (31 goals / 27 assists) Patches is on fire! Patches has 16 (seven goals / nine assists) points in his last 15 games. Tonight he will be chalk without question. Facing off against the Canucks he should overpower them all night. I'd love to see a hatty from him tonight, but a goal and an assist with six shots on net is a safer floor to consider. Cash and GPP, he is a great play.

Ryan O’Reilly (Buf) -Center- ($6400 FD / $6100 DK)

If anyone else has been watching the Sabres, then you have seen O’Reilly heating up. He is currently on a four-game scoring streak where he has three goals (last three games with a goal) and three assists. Tonight he gets a Flyers team that is big but has issues keeping opposing centers off the score sheet. The Flyers are the fourth worst team in the NHL when it comes to stopping centers. O’Reilly will expose this fact and extend his streak to five games with a goal and an assist plus four shots on net.

Connor McDavid (Edm) -Center- ($8800 FD / $8100 DK)

Just like O’Reilly above, McDavid has been on his own scoring streak. Currently on a five-game streak with two goals and five assists in that time. Also like O’Reilly above, he gets one of the NHL-worst teams in defending the center position. Currently ranked third-worst against the center position, the Islanders will put up little if any resistance. Tonight McDavid and his mates will easily push through the Islanders en-route to a win. I see him getting us two goals and an assist with six shots on goal.

Mr. Pucks Sleeper Play

Kyle Palmieri (NJ) - Wing - ($6100 FD / $4700 DK)

As we can see, Draftkings has yet to catch up with his production. With four goals and two assists in his last five games; Palmieri has pushed himself to the NHLs 20/20 club (20 goals / 22 assists). He is on a mission to match last year's production (30 goals / 27 assists) and needs to go on a mad run to do so. Him stating his goal shows me he wants to finish the season off on a high note. I can see a goal and two assists tonight with three shots on net. Use him as a nice stand alone or pair him with Taylor Hall for a potent mini-stack.

Teams To Target

Montreal Canadians - I will be using the line of Pacioretty-Danault-Gallagher in many of my lineups tonight. I also like the second line of Lehkonen-Galchenyuck as a small stack as well. Weber, Markov and Petry on defense.

Buffalo Sabres - The top line of Kane-O’Reilly-Gionta should hold down the scoring tonight and will anchor a few of my lineups. Do not overlook Foligno-Eichel-Reinhart, but I think their ownership will be higher than the top line, so use sparingly. Ristolainen is the east coast version of Bret Burns less the beard. Also like Justin Falk as a punt on defense.

Edmonton Oilers - The pair of Draisaitl-McDavid will be great in cash games, toss in Maroon for a full line. Consider the second line of Lucic-Nugent-Hopkins for a small two player stack an one off from McDavid line. Klefbom and Sekera on defense.

Carolina Hurricanes - Aho and Teravainen have been reunited and this is DFS gold for us. You can use them as a two-player GPP stack or add Rask for a full line. I will have Faulk and Hanafin in a few lineups for defense, Hanafin a bit more than Faulk.

Also Consider - Tor 2 & 3, Fla 3, Phi 1 and NYR 2.

**As always, check before puck drop to see starting goalies because things change**

Top Two

Price - Cash/GPP - Has won his last four starts with one win by shutout. Carries a .964 save % and a 0.98 GAA in the four. He will be in some of my cash and GPP. I expect lower ownership in GPP.

Devan Dubnyk - Cash/GPP - 3-0-1 in his last four starts. Two wins by shutout, a .975 save % and a 0.74 GAA. I will have him in 80% of my cash lineups.

The Rest Of My Goalie Picks

Sergei Bobrovsky - GPP
Ward - Cash/GPP
Anderson - GPP
Bernier - GPP

Mr. Pucks Fade

Filip Forsberg

The biggest reason I'm fading him based on his history, or lack thereof, against the Ducks. In eight career games, he only has one goal against the Ducks. To make matters worse, he has a horrid 0.048 shooting percentage. People will flock to him due to his recent surge. I won't as I feel the Ducks shut him down.
