NL Offensive Sleeper: Brandon Drury

The Diamondbacks seem committed to giving Drury the starting 2B job this season which is not only great for his total at bats, but for his positional eligibility. He qualifies at 3B and OF already and will qualify at 2B by the end of April. Drury is going late in drafts right now and should be a fixture in Arizona's lineup by the end of the season.

AL Offensive Sleeper: Didi Gregorius

Gregorius may never be Derek Jeter, but he might just be a quality player in his own right. If he should happen to bat second for the Yankees, look for him to produce about 15-20 HR and 15-20 steals along with 90+ runs scored. The best part is that is he going as late as the 15th or 16th shortstop off draft boards.

NL Offensive Bust: Giancarlo Stanton

I truly hope that Stanton proves me wrong, but I think he is a bust not because he doesn’t produce, but because he doesn’t produce equivalent stats to the round he will be drafted. I expect more than a .245 batting average, 70 runs scored, and four stolen bases from my second round pick. Stanton would need to hit 50+ home runs and knock in 100+ RBIs to make him worthy of an early selection.

AL Offensive Bust: Jason Kipnis

An injured rotator cuff is never good for an athlete, especially one who has to throw a ball for a living. Even if his injury doesn’t keep him out for the season, it could impede him enough to have him thinking about it when he hits and even when he steals a base (when he extends his arms out to slide). I can see Kipnis taking a huge step back this season because of the injury and I won’t own him on any of my Fantasy teams.

NL Pitching Sleeper: Zach Davies

Pitchers who don’t strike guys out are seldom looked at closely by Fantasy owners, but occasionally they can breakout and have amazing years (think Kyle Hendricks last season.) To me, Davies is Hendricks-light. He won’t overwhelm anyone with his power arsenal, but he will keep his walks to a minimum and work location and change speeds all game long. If his bullpen was better I could see him winning 15 games.

AL Pitching Sleeper: Aaron Sanchez

I am not calling Sanchez a sleeper in terms of people not knowing him; I am calling him a sleeper more in terms of people not realizing how good he really is. He should eclipse 200 IP in 2017 and with it, close to 200 strikeouts should follow. Look for Sanchez to be atop the AL leader boards in ERA and WHIP too.

Stash and Cash: Cody Bellinger

This guy is so good that the Dodgers are having him play at multiple positions in spring training just in case they need to call him up to get his bat into their lineup. Make no mistake, Bellinger is the first baseman of the future in Los Angeles, and if Adrian Gonzalez struggles out of the gate, there might be rumblings (of earthquake proportion) to insert Bellinger into the lineup on a regular basis. If he starts out the year hot in Triple-A, he could make an impact by the All-Star Break, if not earlier.
