Tee Higgins CIN WR
Bengals' Tee Higgins: Prioritizing injury avoidance
5m agoHiggins said Wednesday at voluntary OTAs that he's adapted his offseason practice regimen to focus on preventing injuries, Geoff Hobson of the Bengals' official site reports.
Higgins, who inked a massive four-year, $115 million deal with the Bengals in March, said that in addition to focusing on strength and speed his goal this offseason has been to "get my muscles right" and break his trend of lower-body soft-tissue injuries. Such issues forced him to miss five regular-season games in both 2023 and 2024. Even if he plays a full 17 regular-season games for the first time in his career, Higgins could have a tough time repeating his per-game efficiency from 2024, when he tallied 73 catches for 911 yards (on 109 targets) and a career-high 12 touchdowns across 12 appearances. A portion of Higgins' production can be attributed to Joe Burrow leading the league in pass attempts while struggling to compensate for Cincinnati's porous defense, which allowed 25.5 points per game. The Bengals failed to substantially revamp the defense this offseason, though, which could set the stage for a similar script in 2025, especially with Ja'Marr Chase and TE Mike Gesicki having re-signed to provide complete continuity on offense.

Isaac Guerendo SF RB
49ers' Isaac Guerendo: On field for OTAs
1h agoGuerendo (knee/ankle) was an active participant at voluntary OTAs, per the 49ers' official site.
Guerendo sustained MCL and ankle sprains in his left leg during San Francisco's regular-season finale, but the 2024 fourth-round pick appears back to full health ahead of mandatory minicamp, which will take place June 10-11. Christian McCaffrey also looks fully healthy after having been limited to four appearances in 2024, which leaves Guerendo competing for No. 2 reps entering Year 2. The 49ers saw fit to trade Jordan Mason to Minnesota this offseason and let Elijah Mitchell link up with the Chiefs in free agency, though the team did re-sign Patrick Taylor and select Jordan James in the fifth round of the 2025 NFL Draft. Guerendo's combo of athleticism and explosiveness makes him a high upside backup to McCaffrey, but injuries have been a consistent roadblock for him dating back to college.

Rondale Moore MIN WR
Vikings' Rondale Moore: Participating in OTAs
2h agoMoore (knee) has been an on-field participant at OTAs, per the Vikings' official site.
Moore appears healthy as he begins work to carve out a depth role in Minnesota's wide receiver corps, where Jalen Nailor appears fairly secure as the No. 3 receiver behind Justin Jefferson and Jordan Addison. A non-contact knee injury sustained last August forced Moore to spend the entire 2024 season, his first and only in Atlanta, on IR. Across three years and 39 regular-season games with Arizona, the 2021 second-rounder combined for 135 catches for 1,201 yards and three touchdowns, plus 52 carries for 249 rushing yards. If Moore's recovery hasn't impacted his burst, his unusual skill set could find a place in head coach Kevin O'Connell's offense.

Evan Engram DEN TE
Broncos' Evan Engram: Building momentum with new team
3h agoBroncos head coach Sean Payton said Thursday that Engram (shoulder), who has been an active participant at OTAs, has shown "real good instincts" at practice, Aric DiLalla of the team's official site reports.
Engram said Thursday he feels "the potential is through the roof" for second-year quarterback Bo Nix, per DiLalla, and the veteran tight end projects to be a significant part of the young signal-caller's Year 2 development. Now fully recovered from the hamstring and labrum injuries that limited him to nine regular-season appearances with Jacksonville in 2024, Engram is entrenched as Denver's top tight end above Adam Trautman, and he's staring down a seemingly straightforward path to emerging as the No. 2 option in the passing game behind top wideout Courtland Sutton. Marvin Mims, Devaughn Vele and Troy Franklin project as complementary options and are joined by rookie third-rounder Pat Bryant, but Engram is clearly the Broncos' most proficient target outlet for short passes, even if his prime is in the past as he enters his age-31 season. Zac Stevens of TheDNVR.com reports that Engram's usage at OTAs suggests a key role in the passing game.
-
Trevin Wallace CAR LB
Panthers' Trevin Wallace: Returns to field
12h agoWallace (shoulder) is participating in OTAs, Jeff Hawkins of the Charlotte Post reports.
Wallace suffered a shoulder injury in mid-December and required surgery to resolve the issue. He spent a significant portion of his rookie season as a starter, but he'll have to compete for that role in 2025 after the Panthers added Christian Rozeboom this offseason.
-
Travis Clayton BUF OT
Bills' Travis Clayton: Recovered from shoulder inury
13h agoClayton (shoulder) is participating in OTAs, per the Buffalo Bills' official site.
Clayton landed on injured reserve at the close of training camp in 2024 and missed the rest of the season. While he's back on the field, he's likely a long shot to crack the Bills' 2025 roster.
-
Ryan Cusick CHW SP
White Sox's Ryan Cusick: Designated for assignment
10m agoThe White Sox designated Cusick for assignment on Friday.
Cusick was claimed off waivers by Chicago earlier in the week but has been dumped from the 40-man roster before making an appearance with Triple-A Charlotte. The right-hander has a 6.32 ERA and 11:14 K:BB across 15.2 innings at the Triple-A level this year.
-
Korey Lee CHW C
White Sox's Korey Lee: Sent to Triple-A
12m agoThe White Sox optioned Lee to Triple-A Charlotte on Friday.
The 26-year-old will lose his place on the MLB roster Friday with prospect Kyle Teel being called up for his first taste of the majors. Lee was reinstated from the injured list last week after going down with an ankle injury in early April, and he'll head to the minors with a .250/.300/.357 slash line in 31 big-league plate appearances this season.
-
Kyle Teel CHW C
White Sox's Kyle Teel: Promotion official
16m agoThe White Sox selected Teel's contract from Triple-A Charlotte on Friday.
The 23-year-old is poised to make his MLB debut after posting a .295/.394/.492 slash line with eight homers and seven steals in 50 games for Charlotte to begin the season. Teel, who was acquired from the Red Sox in the Garrett Crochet trade in December, should split playing time behind the plate with Edgar Quero since Korey Lee was optioned to Triple-A on Friday. Teel has also been taking reps at first base but has yet to see game action there at the professional level, so he may need some time to get more comfortable at the position.
-
Kyle Stowers MIA LF
Marlins' Kyle Stowers: Battling hand soreness
1h agoStowers is out of the lineup for Friday's game against the Rays due to lingering hand soreness, Nate Karzmer of FishOnFirst reports.
Marlins manager Clayton McCullough said Friday that Stowers will be available to pinch-hit, but he's currently dealing with hand soreness. Stowers is out of the lineup for a second straight game Friday, but the hand issue appears to be a short-term problem.
-
Kody Funderburk MIN RP
Twins' Kody Funderburk: Sent to Triple-A
1h agoThe Twins optioned Funderburk to Triple-A St. Paul on Friday.
Funderburk made seven appearances during this big-league stint but posted a poor 9.00 ERA and a 4:4 K:BB over eight innings. His spot on the 26-man roster will go to Travis Adams, who can provide the Twins' pitching staff with more depth.
-
Travis Adams MIN SP
Twins' Travis Adams: Officially brought up
1h agoThe Twins recalled Adams from Triple-A St. Paul on Friday.
Adams has tallied a 3.43 ERA and a 37:10 K:BB over 42 innings as a bulk reliever with St. Paul, and he'll join the big league club Friday. With Pablo Lopez (shoulder) on the IL and David Festa struggling, there's a path for Adams to make some starts for the Twins, though he's likely to pitch out of the bullpen at first. Kody Funderburk was optioned to St. Paul in a corresponding move.

Isaiah Hartenstein OKC C
Thunder's Isaiah Hartenstein: Shifts to bench in loss
7h agoHartenstein chipped in nine points (3-5 FG, 3-3 FT), nine rebounds and one steal in 17 minutes during Thursday's 111-110 loss to the Pacers in Game 1 of the NBA Finals.
Hartenstein moved to the bench, presumably as a result of Indiana's smaller lineup. The Pacers' rotation can switch out on defense, meaning the benefits of running a two-big lineup for the Thunder are somewhat negated. Despite the loss, the decision appeared to be a positive one until the final second of the game. Now trailing 1-0, Oklahoma City will look to bounce back Sunday before the series shifts to Indiana.
-
Cason Wallace OKC PG
Thunder's Cason Wallace: Modest effort in spot start
7h agoWallace posted six points (3-9 FG, 0-3 3Pt), two rebounds, one assist, one block and one steal across 33 minutes during Thursday's 111-110 loss to the Pacers in Game 1 of the NBA Finals.
Wallace moved into the starting lineup for Game 1, replacing Isaiah Hartenstein, who moved to the bench. This move was based purely on the matchup, with the coaching staff opting to go small to counter the Pacers' interchangeable lineup. Despite the promotion, Wallace wasn't particularly impactful on the stat sheet. It remains to be seen whether he will remain in the starting lineup for Game 2 on Sunday.
-
Chet Holmgren OKC C
Thunder's Chet Holmgren: Quiet in Game 1 loss
7h agoHolmgren ended Thursday's 111-110 loss to the Pacers in Game 1 of the NBA Finals with six points (2-9 FG, 0-1 3Pt, 2-2 FT), six rebounds and one block across 24 minutes.
Holmgren was barely noticeable Thursday, putting up easily his worst performance of the postseason. Prior to the Game 1 loss, Holmgren had scored double digits in nine straight games, while contributing above-average defensive numbers. Thursday's loss sees the Thunder now facing what could be considered a must-win game Sunday, when Holmgren and the Thunder will look to get back on track.
-
Myles Turner IND C
Pacers' Myles Turner: Blocks three shots Thursday
7h agoTurner contributed 15 points (5-10 FG, 2-5 3Pt, 3-4 FT), nine rebounds and three blocks over 28 minutes during Thursday's 111-110 victory over Oklahoma City in Game 1 of the NBA Finals.
Despite both teams opting to play small at times, Turner still managed to have a tangible impact on the game, blocking three shots for the third time in the past four games. Turner has been relatively consistent throughout the playoffs, providing the Pacers with a reliable defensive anchor. Now leading the NBA Finals 1-0, Indiana will look to take control of the series when the two teams meet again Sunday.
-
Aaron Nesmith IND SF
Pacers' Aaron Nesmith: Double-doubles in Game 1 win
7h agoNesmith provided 10 points (3-9 FG, 3-7 3Pt, 1-2 FT), 12 rebounds, one assist and one block over 31 minutes during Thursday's 111-110 victory over the Thunder in Game 1 of the NBA Finals.
Nesmith played his role to perfection, recording his third double-double of the postseason. Although his contributions don't always translate into stats, Nesmith's impact on the defensive end of the floor has been invaluable for the Pacers. Despite trailing by as much as 15 points during the final quarter, Indiana once again defied the odds, stealing Game 1 on the road. The two teams will meet again Sunday, when the Pacers will look to take a 2-0 series advantage.
-
Obi Toppin IND PF
Pacers' Obi Toppin: Key contributions in Game 1
7h agoToppin chipped in 17 points (6-9 FG, 5-8 3Pt), five rebounds and two assists across 25 minutes during Thursday's 111-110 win over the Thunder in Game 1 of the NBA Finals.
Toppin continues to play a key role for the Pacers despite logging somewhat limited minutes off the bench. With that said, he has now played at least 25 minutes in two straight games, scoring 18 and 17 points respectively. Both teams opted to go small down the stretch of Game 1, allowing Toppin to play as a makeshift center. Thursday's win gives Indiana a 1-0 lead, with Game 2 scheduled for Sunday in Oklahoma City.
-
Tyler Seguin DAL C
Stars' Tyler Seguin: Suffered shoulder injury
1m agoSeguin suffered a shoulder injury during the playoffs and will rehab it during the offseason, Brien Rea of FanDuel Sports Network Southwest reports Friday.
Seguin had two goals and two assists in 11 playoff games with both goals and an assist coming in the opening game of the Western Conference Finals versus Edmonton. Seguin played in only 20 regular-season games in 2024-25 as he missed most of the season after undergoing surgery in early December for a left-side femoral acetabular impingement and hip labrum. Seguins should be completely healthy in time for the start of training camp.
-
Stuart Skinner EDM G
Oilers' Stuart Skinner: Starting Game 2
37m agoSkinner will patrol the home crease versus Florida on Friday in Game 2, Tony Brar of Oilers TV reports.
Skinner turned aside 29 of 32 shots in Wednesday's 4-3 overtime victory in Game 1. Skinner has won seven of his last eight playoff games, including all four at home, stopping 113 of 118 shots (.958 percentage) at Rogers Place. The Panthers are scoring 3.83 goals per game across 18 postseason games in 2025.
-
A.J. Greer FLA LW
Panthers' A.J. Greer: Not available for Game 2
1h agoGreer (lower body) has been ruled out for Game 2 in Edmonton on Friday, but he could return for Game 3 in Florida on Monday, Luke Fox of Sportsnet reports.
Greer has missed two of the last three games, managing to play only 4:16 in the finale versus Carolina on May 28. The 28-year-old has two goals and one assist in 12 playoff games. Look for Jesper Bratt to remain in the lineup on the fourth line with Greer's absence.
-
Gustav Lindstrom MON D
Canadiens' Gustav Lindstrom: Heading back to Sweden
17h agoLindstrom signed a five-year contract with Djurgardens IF of the SHL on Thursday, per RDS.ca.
Lindstrom didn't make any appearances in the NHL in 2024-25, earning 11 points in 42 games with AHL Laval instead. The long-term nature of this contract suggests the 26-year-old defenseman is done pursuing playing opportunities in North America and will ply his trade in his native country for the rest of his career.
-
Jere Innala COL LW
Avalanche's Jere Innala: Headed back to Sweden
1d agoInnala signed a contract with Frolunda HC of the SHL on Thursday, Evan Rawal of the Denver Gazette reports.
Innala played 17 regular-season games with the Avalanche this season and failed to garner a point. The 27-year-old played only one season in North America after crossing the pond after the 2023-24 campaign, signing a one-year contract with Colorado. Innala managed 17 goals and 11 assists across 43 AHL contests with the Eagles.

Evan Rodrigues FLA C
Panthers' Evan Rodrigues: Manages power-play helper
2d agoRodrigues logged a power-play assist, two shots on goal, three hits and two PIM in Wednesday's 4-3 overtime loss to the Oilers in Game 1 of the Stanley Cup Finals.
Rodrigues helped out on a Brad Marchand go-ahead goal in the first period. With a goal and eight assists over his last seven outings, Rodrigues continues to play a key playmaking role for the Panthers. He's at one goal, 11 helpers, 26 shots on net, 31 hits, 10 PIM and a plus-2 rating through 16 playoff outings. He began the postseason in the bottom six but has since taken on a top-line role.
