Plays of the Day
Value: The Warriors already ruled out Draymond Green and Andre Iguodala. Matt Barnes should see minutes in the upper-20s and possibly 30 minutes against the Suns.
Fade: DeMar DeRozan has been asked to do a lot for the Raptors without Kyle Lowry. He hasn't lived up to his salary most of the time lately, especially on FanDuel where he is $9,200. He played 40 minutes last night and plays at Detroit with an over/under of 200.5.
Games to Target
- Houston Rockets (-8.5) hosting Denver Nuggets (Over/Under = 239.5)
- Phoenix Suns (+8.5) hosting Golden State Warriors (Over/Under = 220)
Isaiah Thomas (BOS) vs. CLE DK:$8,500/FD:$8,500
At this time of the season, finding teams playing for something is key. There are too many questions marks with playing time. The Celtics and Cavaliers are tied for the top seed in the Eastern Conference. The Cavaliers are playing consecutive games after beating the Magic Tuesday. Thomas' price has come down recently and the Cavaliers struggled to defend point guards. Thomas played 24 minutes in his last game in a blowout win over the Knicks, but had 53.75 and 50.75 DK points in the previous two games. The last time he faced Cleveland he had 31 points and five assists.
Ish Smith (DET) vs. TOR DK:$5,900/FD:$5,500
Smith has played 32, 32, 31 and 35 minutes the last four games without Reggie Jackson. Over the four games, he is averaging 17.8 points and 5.3 assists. He doesn't have a huge ceiling, but makes a fine cash game play, especially on FD.
Jamaal Murray ($4500/$3700) could emerge as a value play in the highest scoring game of the night if the Nuggets are without Jameer Nelson and Will Barton.
Patty Mills ($4200/$4200) might be in line for big minutes if the Spurs rest some players, which is a possibility coming off an overtime game last night.
James Harden (HOU) vs. DEN DK:$12,500/FD:$12,100
Harden missed the last game with an illness, but he was also playing with a bad wrist. He is expected to play tonight and it's the best environment on the slate with two high paced teams with a high over/under. Harden is shooting 20-for-68 the last three games, so there is some concern.
Lou Williams (HOU) @ DEN DK:$6,200/FD:$4,600
The price is much better on FD, but Williams has benefited with Ryan Anderson out. Williams has played at least 29 minutes in five straight games. Williams has at least 22 FD points in all five games and gets a great matchup.
Gary Harris ($5600/$6100) has at least 30 DK points in three of the last four games and gets a boost if Jameer Nelson and Will Barton remain out.
Troy Daniels ($3900/$3400) has played at least 30 minutes in three straight games, posting 30.75, 31.5 and 21 DK points.
LeBron James (CLE) @ BOS DK:$10,200/FD:$10,700
The Cavaliers had hoped to be resting James at this point of the season, but they can't do it with the Cavaliers struggling and vying for the top seed in the Eastern Conference. The Cavaliers are tied with the Celtics for the No. 1 seed and they will need James tonight. He has at least 54 DK points in four straight games, so the return of Kevin Love has not affected his stats. James had 28 points, 13 rebounds and 10 assists in the last matchup with Boston.
Danilo Gallinari (DEN) @ HOU DK:$6,300/FD:$6,600
Attacking the Rockets-Nuggets game is a smart idea. Gallinari had 28 points, five rebounds and three assists last night in 42 minutes and 29 points, five rebounds and two assists in 37 minutes on Sunday. The Rockets struggle to defend forwards and allow a lot of three-point attempts.
Matt Barnes ($3400/$3600) could see close to 30 minutes tonight with Draymond Green and Andre Iguodala resting.
Kyle Anderson ($3500/$3500) might get an opportunity to start or play big minutes if the Spurs rest some starters so monitor the news.
Nikola Jokic (DEN) @ NO: DK:$9,400/FD:$10,000
The Nuggets are only one-half game behind the Trail Blazers for the eighth seed in the Western Conference. This game is the highest projected one on the slate and both teams play at a high pace. He has three straight double-doubles and at least 42 DK points in four straight. The last time he faced the Rockets he had 22 points, 13 rebounds and eight assists. He's always a threat for a triple-double and has played at least 34 minutes in four straight games.
Kevin Love (CLE) @ BOS: DK:$7,400/FD:$7,300
Love has played consecutive games twice since returning from injury. He played 29 minutes on March 24 and 33 minutes the next day. On March 30 Love played 21 minutes and 30 the next day. The Cavaliers are trying to get the top seed and Love played 28 minutes last night and had 28 points, 11 rebounds, two assists, two steals and one block.
David West ($3000/$4000) doesn't need many minutes to produce and should see more time with Andre Iguodala and Draymond Green out.
Larry Nance Jr. ($4800/$4100) played 40 minutes in his last game and in a tough matchup against the Grizzlies, Nance had 12 points, 14 rebounds and three steals in 40 minutes. The Spurs are tough, but could rest a few players.
Clint Capela (HOU) vs. DEN: DK:$5,800/FD:$5,500
Capela doesn't have a high ceiling, but he's a safe cash game play in the highest scoring environment of the night. Capela has at least 26 FD points in six of the last eight games. In the last two games against Denver, Capela had 32.8 in 27 minutes and 29.6 FD points in 24 minutes.
Pau Gasol (SA) vs. LAL: DK:$5,700/FD:$5,500
Center is an ugly position tonight. Gasol has posted at least 32.5 DK points in four straight games and has a great matchup against the Lakers. The risk is the Spurs resting players, so make sure you follow the news to see his status.
Cody Zeller ($4800/$4900) and the Hornets are still fighting for a playoff spot and he has at least 27 DK points in two of the last three games.
Nerlens Noel ($4800/$6200) only played 21 minutes on Tuesday, but had nine points, 10 rebounds, two assists, two steals and two blocked shots. The Mavericks might be without several players tonight.
