Plays of the Day
Value: The Spurs value is obvious and listed below, but Jamal Murray and Emmanuel Mudiay are also in play against the Pelicans since Jameer Nelson and Will Barton have been ruled out.
Fade: Andrew Wiggins had 36 points, eight rebounds, three assists and two steals last night, but that was against Portland. Wiggins gets a tough Jazz defense tonight and he tends to struggle against them. He had 27.9 FD points against the Jazz last time and has shot 19-for-51 in three games against the Jazz.
- Denver Nuggets (6.5) hosting New Orleans Pelicans (Over/Under = 229.5)
- Phoenix Suns (+8.5) hosting Oklahoma City Thunder (Over/Under = 227)
Russell Westbrook (OKC) @PHX DK:$14,000/FD:$13,500
Yes, the price is very high, but there is a lot of value already on the slate with the Spurs resting several players and as usual more value could open up close to lineup lock. In six of his last seven games, Westbrook has at least 70 DK points. He had seven triple-doubles in a row and fell one rebound short of getting No. 8 in his last game against the Grizzlies. The Thunder are 2.5 games back of the Clippers with four games left and there's not much to play for, but Westbrook is going for the MVP and the Thunder have showed no indications of limiting his minutes. The Suns are one of the worst defensive teams and Westbrook has 89.25, 81.25 and 89.75 DK points against the Suns this season.
Tyler Ulis (PHX) vs. OKC DK:$7,100/FD:$6,200
Ulis is playing huge minutes and is a better play on FD due to the cheaper price. Ulis has played at least 40 minutes in eight of his last 11 games. He has at least 31 FD points in five of the last six games and plays in one of the highest scoring games of the night.
Patty Mills ($4000/$4100) will be one of many popular Spurs to help save some salary.
Tyler Ennis ($5000/$3800) could be in for some big minutes depending on the status of Jordan Clarkson and DeAngelo Russell. Ennis played 39 minutes against the Spurs on Wednesday and had 19 points, six assists and two steals for 31 FD points.
Garry Harris (DEN) vs. NO DK:$5,800/FD:$6,200
Will Barton and Jameer Nelson have been ruled out meaning Harris is in line for big minutes in one of the best games to targets. Harris played 30 minutes in his last game, but played 37, 41, 37 and 41 minutes in the four games prior with the Nuggets shorthanded.
Tim Hardaway Jr. (ATL) @CLE DK:$5,600/FD:$5,600
Hardaway is playing huge minutes, with at least 36 minutes in seven of his last eight games. He played 40 minutes last night with Paul Millsap active and Millsap is out today and that will help the usage rate for Hardaway.
Kentavious Caldwell-Pope ($5000/$4300) is very erratic, but the price has dropped on FD and in a high-paced game against the Rockets he can produce value.
Buddy Hield ($6000/$5500) has played at least 30 minutes in four of the last fives games. He has 23.3, 29.3 and 27.1 FD points over the last three games. He has taken 29 shots from the field the last two games and has a great matchup against the Lakers.
LeBron James (CLE) vs. ATL DK:$10,600/FD:$10,900
Most of us expected James to be resting at this point of the season. Instead, he's playing huge minutes. The Cavaliers haven't locked up the top seed in the Eastern Conference yet, but lead the Celtics by 1.5 games. Even with blowout wins the last two games, James played 39 and 37 minutes. The blowout potential exists tonight with the Cavaliers favored by 12, but in order for them to get that big lead, James will be a big part of it. With a lot of value already, it's looking likely to have Westbrook and James.
Taurean Prince (ATL) @CLE DK:$4,600/FD:$4,200
Even with Paul Millsap in the lineup last night coming off the bench, Prince still played 41 minutes and had 20 points, seven rebounds, four assists and two three-pointers for 34.25 DK points. Millsap will not play tonight and when the minutes are high for Prince, he usually exceeds value.
Kyle Anderson ($3600/$3600) will be a part of Spurs value night. Kawhi Leonard, LaMarcus Aldridge, Pau Gasol, Manu Ginobili, Danny Green and Dejounte Murray will be out. Anderson started on Wednesday and had 23.75 DK points in 28 minutes.
Davis Bertans ($3000/$3500) will see increased minutes with the Spurs resting many players and he will be the low-owned one of the group.
Nikola Jokic (DEN) vs. NO: DK:$9,600/FD:$10,100
Jokic is a threat for a triple-double any time he takes the court. He was one assist short of one in his last game, posting 12 points, 19 rebounds, nine assists and five steals for 61.75 DK points in his last game against the Rockets. Denver is 1.5 games behind the Trail Blazers for the eighth seed in the Western Conference and needs a win. Jokic has played at least 34 minutes in five straight games and has four consecutive double-doubles.
David Lee (SA) @DAL: DK:$4,800/FD:$4,000
When Lee is given minutes, he usually produces and the minutes should be there tonight as the Spurs won't have a deep rotation. Even with 35 minutes, Lee should be able to go 5X or more. He's a better cash play than tournament and a better play on FD.
Larry Nance Jr. ($5000/$4300) is still too cheap on FD. He has a great matchup and had 31.8 FD points in only 21 minutes against the Spurs on Wednesday.
Maurice Ndour ($3800/$3800) played 21 minutes last night after putting up 32.9 points in 33 minutes against the Bulls on Tuesday. Carmelo Anthony and Kristaps Porzingis could be out.
Rudy Gobert (UTA) vs. MIN: DK:$8,700/FD:$9,100
Gobert has 10 consecutive double-doubles. He has at least 47.75 DK points in seven of his last 10 games and at least three blocked shots in seven of his last 10 games. The Timberwolves haven't been defending centers well over the last few weeks.
Anthony Davis (NO) @DEN: DK:$10,400/FD:$11,300
Davis has at least 52 DK points in seven straight games and has a great matchup against the high-paced Nuggets. Davis has been producing even with DeMarcus Cousins on the court and there's a chance Cousins misses tonight, providing a bigger boost to Davis.
Dewayne Dedmon ($3000/$3500) will see significant minutes tonight with Pau Gasol and LaMarcus Aldridge out. Dedmon started against the Mavericks earlier in the season and had six points, 10 rebounds, three blocks and two steals in 26 minutes.
Jonas Valanciunas ($5500/$5500) has at least 27.75 DK points in six straight games.
