Week 4 Fantasy Baseball: Ronis Injury Report

Every season, injuries plague certain players and specific teams. Senior Fantasy Baseball Expert Adam Ronis looks at the injuries affecting the Fantasy world in Week 4!

The 10-day Designated List is new this season. Teams seem to be making quicker decisions and putting players on the DL instead of waiting. It's good because teams are being extra cautious, but it's leading to more players landing on the DL.

RP Cameron Bedrosian, Los Angeles Angels

The closer was placed on the 10-day DL with a groin injury. Bud Norris received the first two chances in Bedrosian's absence and converted both saves.

RP Zach Britton, Baltimore Orioles

Britton was placed on the disabled list with a forearm injury and the MRI came back clean. He will throw a bullpen session on Wednesday. He will be re-evaluated after the session and there's a good chance he could be back in the minimum amount of days.

1B Miguel Cabrera, Detroit Tigers

Cabrera was placed on the 10-day DL with a groin injury. He was starting to heat up and Tigers manager Brad Ausmus said they expect Cabrera back as soon as the 10 days are up.

RP Sonny Gray, Oakland A's

Gray will make another rehab start at Triple-A on Thursday. He pitched well in his first rehab start on Saturday at High-A Stockton, allowing one hit in five scoreless innings with six strikeouts. There's a good chance if this next outing goes well, Gray will return to the A's rotation.

SP Kendall Graveman, Oakland A's

Graveman is on the DL with a shoulder injury and is slated to start on Thursday against the Angels.

SS Didi Gregorius, New York Yankees

Gregorius began his rehab assignment for his shoulder strain and is expected to return in early May if things go well.

OF J.D. Martinez, Detroit Tigers

Tigers manager Brad Ausmus said Martinez is on track to return in late April or early May.

SP Jake Odorizzi, Tampa Bay Rays

Odorizzi said the hamstring injury is already better and he's on track to return May 1. He threw a bullpen session over the weekend and will throw a four-inning simulated game on Tuesday.

SP David Price, Boston Red Sox

Price (elbow) threw 45 pitches in a bullpen session Monday. He had some elbow soreness recently but appears to be fine now. There is still no timetable for Price's return.

SP Garrett Richards, Los Angeles Angels

Richards was transferred to the 60-day DL as the biceps have not improved. He has nerve irritation and there's a lot of concern here.

3B Pablo Sandoval, Boston Red Sox

Sandoval was placed on the 10-day DL with a right knee sprain. He had an MRI on Monday and the results haven't been announced yet. Josh Rutledge has been activated from the DL and will likely see some time at third base.

SP James Shields, Chicago White Sox

Shields hit the 10-day DL with a right lat strain. There's no timetable on his return.

SP Chris Tillman, Baltimore Orioles

Tillman (shoulder) made his second rehab start on Saturday and pitched 3.2 innings and allowed three runs. He is slated to pitch Thursday at High-A Frederick and throw around 75 pitches. He could return May 2 if all goes well.

SS Troy Tulowitzki, Toronto Blue Jays

Tulowitzki was placed on the 10-day DL with a hamstring injury.

SP Madison Bumgarner, San Francisco Giants

Bumgarner injured his shoulder and ribs in a dirt bike accident. He has a Grade 1-2 strain of his left AC shoulder joint and is expected to miss 6-8 weeks. This is a devastating blow to the Giants chances of making a postseason appearance.

SP Matt Cain, San Francisco Giants

Cain left Monday's start with hamstring tightness.

OF Ian Desmond, Colorado Rockies

Desmond took batting practice on Monday. He had a fracture in his left hand during the spring and could be back in early May.

1B Lucas Duda, New York Mets

Duda landed on the 10-day DL with a hyper extended elbow. Duda has been making progress and expects to return when eligible.

2B Logan Forsythe, Los Angeles Dodgers

Forsythe landed on the DL with a right big toe fracture. He is expected to miss two weeks of action.

IF/OF Adam Frazier, Pittsburgh Pirates

Frazier is out with a hamstring injury. It's poor timing as Frazier was in line to get more playing time with the Starling Marte suspension for PEDs. There's no timetable for Frazier's return.

OF Travis Jankowski, San Diego Padres

He was placed on the 10-day with a right bone bruise. He is batting .160 with no home runs or RBIs and two stolen bases.

OF Howie Kendrick, Philadelphia Phillies

Kendrick is out with an oblique injury and is expected to miss 2-3 weeks. Aaron Altherr will see more playing time and should be added in leagues of 12 teams or more.

C Devin Mesoraco, Cincinnati Reds

The 20-day rehab assignment for Mesoraco ends on Tuesday. He will be activated this week. He had hip and shoulder surgeries over the last two seasons and will initially split catching duties with Tucker Barnhart. Mesoraco is batting .175 with a .275 slugging percentage during his rehab stint.

SP Shelby Miller, Arizona Diamondbacks

Miller was placed on the 10-day DL with right elbow inflammation. No other details have been revealed. He will get a second opinion.

SP Aaron Nola, Philadelphia Phillies

Nola was placed on the 10-day DL Monday due to a sore back. Nola is expected to miss 1-2 starts. He has a 4.50 ERA and a 15:6 K:BB ratio in 16 innings.
