Mario Edwards SEA DE
Mario Edwards: Visits Houston
2h agoEdwards (knee) had a visit with the Texans on Monday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.
Edwards missed the final game of the 2023 season due to a knee injury. His visit in Houston indicates he has put that injury behind him. The journeyman recorded 21 tackles (15 solo), one pass defensed and one forced fumble across 15 games for Seattle last season. He is now looking for a new opportunity.

Chase Young SF DE
Saints' Chase Young: Officially joins New Orleans
3h agoThe Saints and Young agreed to a contract Monday.
According to Katherine Terrell of ESPN.com, Young's new deal will be for one year. The No. 2 overall pick in the 2020 Draft, Young earned Defensive Rookie of the Year honors to kick off his career, but his next two seasons were derailed by injuries, and he split 2023 between the Commanders and 49ers. With 16.5 sacks in 43 games in his first four campaigns, he'll be a part of a New Orleans pass rush that features Cameron Jordan and Carl Granderson.
-
Joshua Dobbs MIN QB
49ers' Joshua Dobbs: Finds work in San Francisco
3h agoThe 49ers and Dobbs agreed to a contract Monday, Mike Garafolo of NFL Network reports.
In 13 games (12 starts) between the Cardinals and Vikings this past season, Dobbs completed 262 of 417 (62.8 percent) of his passes for 2,464 yards, 13 touchdowns and 10 interceptions. He also was viable as a runner, averaging 5.5 yards on his 77 carries while scoring six TDs on the ground. Brock Purdy is the unquestioned starting quarterback for San Francisco, but Dobbs' recent on-field work should give him a leg up on the backup job ahead of holdover Brandon Allen.

Rico Dowdle DAL RB
Cowboys' Rico Dowdle: Remaining with Dallas
4h agoDowdle is set to re-sign with the Cowboys, Jon Machota of The Athletic reports.
Following the free-agent departure of Tony Pollard, Dowdle is poised to reclaim his role in a Dallas backfield that also currently includes Deuce Vaughn, Malik Davis and Snoop Conner. Chances are, the Cowboys will add further RB depth via free agency or the draft, so until the team's personnel at the position is settled, Dowdle's fantasy upside for the 2024 season will be difficult to gauge.
-
Alexander Mattison MIN RB
Raiders' Alexander Mattison: Set to join Las Vegas backfield
4h agoMattison is in line to sign with the Raiders, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports.
In 16 games for the Vikings during the 2023 regular season, Mattison had 180 carries for 700 yards and caught 30 of his 44 targets for 192 yards and three receiving TDs. With the Raiders, Mattison -- who turns 26 in June -- is slated to provide the team with needed backfield depth and a complementary option alongside 2022 fourth-rounder Zamir White following the free-agent departure of Josh Jacobs. Assuming White serves as Las Vegas' top RB option, Mattison's weekly upside will be modest, but if White is injured or struggles at all as the 2024 season progresses, Mattison could reenter the fantasy lineup equation.

Chase Young SF DE
Chase Young: Looks set to sign with New Orleans
5h agoYoung is expected to sign a contract with the Saints after visiting with the team Monday, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
Young, the No. 2 overall pick of the 2020 NFL Draft and former Defensive Rookie of the Year, was acquired by the 49ers prior to last season's trade deadline. He tallied 2.5 sacks across nine regular-season games with San Francisco but was allowed to walk in free agency, where it looks like he'll get a fresh start in New Orleans. Young looks to finally be back in top form after knee issues significantly hampered him in 2021 and 2022, and it would be an ideal situation for him to pair with (and learn from) veteran defensive end Cameron Jordan with the Saints.

Grae Kessinger HOU SS
Astros' Grae Kessinger: Diagnosed with hamstring strain
42m agoKessinger suffered a right hamstring strain during Monday's exhibition against Miami, Brian McTaggart of MLB.com reports.
Kessinger suffered the injury while running the bases, and his status for the start of the regular season is in jeopardy following this diagnosis. The 26-year-old is expected to be re-evaluated within the next few days to determine his next steps and a potential timetable for a return.

Andy Ibanez DET 2B
Tigers' Andy Ibanez: Impressing in camp
1h agoIbanez has played well this spring and likely has locked up an Opening Day roster spot, Jason Beck of MLB.com reports.
Ibanez was a pleasant surprise for the Tigers last season and he's carried that over into camp, as he's now popped four home runs in 15 Grapefruit League contests to go along with a .963 OPS. The utility player doesn't have a regular home on the diamond, but if he keeps swinging a hot bat, he may force his way into the lineup more often than not.

Shota Imanaga CHC RP
Cubs' Shota Imanaga: To start home opener?
1h agoImanaga appears on track to start the Cubs' fourth game of the season on April 1, which is the home opener, Jordan Bastian of MLB.com reports.
Justin Steele will get the ball on Opening Day in Texas, potentially followed by Kyle Hendricks and Jordan Wicks. Imanaga would then be in line to make his MLB debut when the Cubs return home for a series against the Rockies. The Japanese lefty has just a 4.66 ERA in three spring starts, though he's also struck out 19 batters in just 9.2 innings, which showcases the type of potential he possesses in his first season.
-
Drew Smyly CHC SP
Cubs' Drew Smyly: Could serve as spot starter
2h agoSmyly could start the regular season in the rotation with Jameson Taillon (back) set to miss some time into April, Jordan Bastian of MLB.com reports.
Taillon could return as soon as April 8 in San Diego, but the Cubs will have to fill his rotation spot until then. Justin Steele is set to start Opening Day on March 28, and Chicago gets an off day after that. However, the Cubs then have games on five straight days, so a full rotation will likely be needed. Beyond Steele, Kyle Hendricks and Shota Imanaga should be locked into starting spots, and Jordan Wicks is making a strong case in camp. That could leave Smyly, Javier Assad and Hayden Wesneski to compete for the No. 5 spot, at least until Taillon returns.
-
Kyle Hendricks CHC SP
Cubs' Kyle Hendricks: Likely to slot in second
2h agoHendricks appears to be lined up to start Chicago's second game of the regular season, behind Opening Day starter Justin Steele, Jordan Bastian of MLB.com reports.
The southpaw Steele has emerged as the team's definitive ace, but the rotation gets a little more jumbled after that. Hendricks makes sense in the No. 2 spot, particularly as a veteran righty with Shota Imanaga, Jordan Wicks and possibly Drew Smyly joining Steele as left-handed starting options. Hendricks won't wow with strikeouts, though he's a steady pitcher who recorded a solid 3.74 ERA across 24 starts last season, giving him some fantasy value in the right matchups.
-
Dominic Smith WAS 1B
Cubs' Dominic Smith: Less competition for role
2h agoSmith seems likely to make the Cubs' Opening Day roster, per Jordan Bastian of MLB.com, and he now has less competition with Matt Mervis getting optioned to Triple-A Iowa on Sunday.
Smith would give Chicago a left-handed power bat off the bench as well as a veteran option should Michael Busch falter at first base. It may not be a fantasy-friendly role right away, but Smith could have more value down the road if his playing time increases. The 28-year-old hit 12 home runs across 153 games with Washington last season to go along with a .254 batting average.
-
LeBron James LAL SF
Lakers' LeBron James: Officially active Monday
2m agoJames (ankle) will play Monday versus Atlanta, Khobi Price of The Orange County Register reports.
James will suit up for his fourth consecutive contest Monday, and he enters averaging 29.0 points, 9.7 rebounds and 9.0 assists in 38.7 minutes across his last three appearances. The 39-year-old dropped 20 points, nine rebounds and eight assists in a Jan. 30 loss to Atlanta -- representing the only other meeting between these two teams this season.
-
Kristaps Porzingis BOS C
Celtics' Kristaps Porzingis: Solid output in limited minutes
12m agoPorzingis (hamstring) generated 20 points (7-14 FG, 5-9 3Pt, 1-1 FT), eight rebounds, one assist, one steal and one block across 21 minutes Monday in the Celtics' 119-94 win over the Pistons.
The Celtics held Porzingis more than eight minutes under his season-long average of 29.8 minutes per contest in his return from a five-game absence due to a right hamstring strain, but the big man didn't need a full workload to turn in a strong fantasy line against the 12-56 Pistons. Because Boston now holds a 10-game advantage over Milwaukee for the top record in the Eastern Conference, Porzingis and the team's other key rotation players could be subject to occasional rest days and/or lightened minutes loads over the final month of the regular season as the coaching staff prioritizes health for the postseason. If that's the case, Porzingis should remain productive whenever he's available play, albeit with a lower nightly fantasy ceiling than he had earlier in the season.
-
John Konchar MEM SG
Grizzlies' John Konchar: Back with starting five
15m agoKonchar is starting Monday night against the Kings.
Konchar will join the starting lineup due to the absence of Luke Kennard (personal). Konchar has started five games so far in March and is averaging 6.6 points, 7.2 rebounds, 3.0 assists and 1.0 blocks in 31.0 minutes.
-
Miles McBride NY PG
Knicks' Miles McBride: Running with first unit
23m agoMcBride is in the starting lineup for Monday's game against Golden State, Fred Katz of The Athletic reports.
McBride gets the starting lineup as the Knicks go small to combat Golden State's small lineup featuring Draymond Green at center. He will start alongside Jalen Brunson, Donte DiVincenzo, Josh Hart and Isaiah Hartenstein on Monday, while Precious Achiuwa remains with the second unit despite OG Anunoby (elbow) being inactive.
-
Duncan Robinson MIA SG
Heat's Duncan Robinson: Dealing with back issue
25m agoRobinson has been ruled out for the remainder of Monday's game against the 76ers due to back discomfort. He totaled three points (1-5 FG, 0-1 3Pt, 1-2 FT) and four rebounds in 24 minutes before exiting.
Robinson will be considered day-to-day until more information on the severity of his injury comes to light. Patty Mills and Jaime Jaquez could see more chances Wednesday against Cleveland if Robinson is forced to miss additional time.
-
Jordan Goodwin MEM SG
Grizzlies' Jordan Goodwin: Not active Monday
30m agoGoodwin is on a G League assignment and won't play for the Grizzlies in Monday's game versus Sacramento.
Goodwin has suited up in three of the Grizzlies' past five contests, averaging 8.3 points, 5.0 rebounds and 4.0 assists in 25.0 minutes per game. He's nearing his season limit for the number of games that he's able to be active as a two-way player, so Goodwin could be in store for additional absences over the final month of the season.
-
Jaden Schwartz SEA LW
Kraken's Jaden Schwartz: Unavailable Monday
9m agoSchwartz (upper body) is not in Monday's lineup against Buffalo, per the NHL's media site.
Schwartz will miss his fourth straight contest and the team has provided little information on his timetable. His next chance to suit up will be Thursday against Vegas.
-
Vince Dunn SEA D
Kraken's Vince Dunn: Not playing Monday
10m agoDunn (upper body) will not suit up Monday against the Sabres, per the NHL's media site.
Dunn will now miss his sixth straight game despite being labeled day-to-day. His next chance to play will be Thursday in Vegas. The veteran blueliner has six points over his last seven appearances.
-
Brayden Schenn STL C
Blues' Brayden Schenn: First assist in 12 games
23m agoSchenn dished out a power-play assist and fired a shot on net in Sunday's 4-2 win over the Ducks.
Schenn was on a 10-game point drought before scoring against the Wild on Saturday and notching an assist Sunday. It certainly helps that he was bumped up to the top line next to Robert Thomas and Jordan Kyrou. The 32-year-old Schenn is having a down year with just 33 points through 68 games, and his minus-21 rating is just salt in the wound for fantasy purposes. Still, his spot in the top six should be secure for the remainder of the season, providing consistent upside even if it's flaky.
-
Zack Bolduc STL C
Blues' Zachary Bolduc: Notches second assist of season
30m agoBolduc posted an assist, a shot on net and two PIM in Sunday's 4-2 win over the Ducks.
The 2021 first-round pick now has two assists over the last three games after enduring an eight-game drought. Bolduc's ice time is limited, as he has surpassed 12 minutes of ice time just once this season. The Blues appear dedicated to giving Bolduc some run with the big club, but the 21-year-old likely needs more seasoning in the AHL before making the jump full time.
-
Dmitry Kulikov FLA D
Panthers' Dmitry Kulikov: Receives two-game suspension
4h agoKulikov was suspended for two games by the NHL Department of Player Safety on Monday for an illegal check to the head on Tampa Bay's Conor Sheary during Saturday's contest.
Kulikov will be eligible to return to the lineup Sunday against Philadelphia. He picked up a match penalty for the hit at the 3:38 mark of the second period in Saturday's 5-3 loss to the Lightning. Kulikov has generated 16 assists, 61 shots on goal, 70 blocked shots and 121 hits in 64 contests this campaign. Tobias Bjornfot will probably replace Kulikov in the lineup Thursday versus Nashville.
-
Ryan Lindgren NYR D
Rangers' Ryan Lindgren: Deemed week-to-week
5h agoLindgren (lower body) is expected to be out of action for a few weeks, Peter Baugh of The Athletic reports.
Lindgren's injury, which he sustained in Sunday's 5-2 win over the Islanders, isn't as bad as the Rangers initially feared. Still, it is unclear if he will return before the end of the regular season. Lindgren has collected 13 points, 88 blocked shots and 100 hits in 66 games this season. The Rangers recalled Brandon Scanlin from AHL Hartford on Monday to serve as a depth option. Chad Ruhwedel will probably draw into the lineup Tuesday versus Winnipeg due to Lindgren's absence.
