2017 Fantasy Baseball: Week 8 Injury Report

RP Cameron Bedrosian, Los Angeles Angels

Bedrosian is set to finally throw off a mound for the first time since landing on the DL with a groin injury one month ago.

2B Robinson Cano, Seattle Mariners


Cano is on the DL with a quadriceps injury and is close to a return. He is eligible to be activated May 23.

3B Josh Donaldson, Toronto Blue Jays

Donaldson began a rehab assignment on Monday and went 0-for-2 with two strikeouts and was hit by a pitch. He's expected to be activated later in the week.

RP Ryan Dull, Oakland Athletics

He is out with a knee strain.

SP J.A. Happ, Toronto Blue Jays

Happ threw 3.1 innings in an extended spring training game on Saturday. There's no timetable for his return from left elbow inflammation.

OF Mitch Haniger, Seattle Mariners

Haniger has been out with an oblique strain and is set to begin a rehab assignment this week.

SP Phil Hughes, Minnesota Twins

Hughes was placed on the DL with right biceps tendonitis.

SP Nate Karns, Kansas City Royals

Karns left his last start with forearm stiffness. Tests showed nothing serious, but he still could be placed on the DL.

SP Dallas Keuchel, Houston Astros

He was placed on the DL with a pinched nerve in his neck. He is expected to miss one start and return over the weekend.

SP Corey Kluber, Cleveland Indians


Kluber will make a rehab start Thursday and throw 70-75 pitches. He threw 50 pitches in a simulated game on Saturday and a bullpen session Monday. If the rehab goes well, he could return next week.

SP Francisco Liriano, Toronto Blue Jays

Liriano is out with left shoulder inflammation and scheduled to throw batting practice on Tuesday.

C Brian McCann, Houston Astros

McCann was placed on the 7-day concussion DL.

2B Brad Miller, Tampa Bay Rays

Miller is on the DL with a lower abdominal strain.

SP James Paxton, Seattle Mariners

Paxton threw a 37-pitch bullpen session Sunday and is slated to make a rehab start on Friday and if all goes well, he could be back with the Mariners May 31.

SP David Price, Boston Red Sox

Price will make a rehab start at Triple-A Pawtucket on Wednesday. He pitched two innings in a rehab start on Friday, throwing 65 pitches. If Wednesday goes well, Price could return next week.

SP Carlos Rodon, Chicago White Sox

Rodon threw 60 pitches in a simulated game in extended spring training Monday. It's the fourth one for Rodon, who has been out with bursitis in his left biceps. There's no return date yet.

SP Tyson Ross, Texas Rangers

Ross will begin a rehab assignment Tuesday and is expected to make two starts.

SP Aaron Sanchez, Toronto Blue Jays

Sanchez seems to be on this report every week. He's back on the DL for the third time this season with a blister on his right middle finger.

SS Troy Tulowitzki, Toronto Blue Jays

Tulowitzki went 0-for-2 with a strikeout in a rehab game Monday and could be activated this week.

SP Trevor Cahill, San Diego Padres

Cahill felt shoulder discomfort during a bullpen and will have an MRI.

C Travis D'Arnaud, New York Mets

He began a rehab assignment on Saturday. He went 0-for-3 Monday and caught six innings and is 5-for-17 during his rehab. He could return as soon as Wednesday. There's talk he won't be the starting catcher upon his return.

2B Logan Forsythe, Los Angeles Dodgers

He began a rehab assignment last week after having the first one interrupted due to a setback. He is close to returning.

1B Freddie Freeman, Atlanta Braves


Freeman is one of the biggest fantasy losses of the season. He was hit by a pitch that fractured his left wrist. He doesn't need surgery and will miss around 10 weeks.

3B Adonis Garcia, Atlanta Braves

Garcia is out with left Achilles tendonitis. He did some running Monday without any issues. He's eligible to be activated Friday.

SP Jonathan Gray, Colorado Rockies

Rockies manager Bud Black said Gray is three weeks away from joining the Rockies as he works his way back from a foot fracture.

SP Junior Guerra, Milwaukee Brewers

Guerra is expected to be activated this week. He has pitched 11.1 innings in his rehab starts with 10 strikeouts and a 3.97 ERA.

SP Seth Lugo, New York Mets

He is expected to make two more rehab starts and then be back with the Mets.

SP Kenta Maeda, Los Angeles Dodgers

Maeda is slated to return from a hamstring injury and start Thursday.

SP Steven Matz, New York Mets

He will begin a rehab assignment with High-A St. Lucie on Thursday. He could return in early June.

OF Hunter Pence, San Francisco Giants


Pence (hamstring) did sprints in the outfield Monday. Manager Bruce Bochy said Pence is about one week away from a return.

OF A.J. Pollock, Arizona Diamondbacks

Pollock began some light jogging Monday. He's eligible to return Thursday, but will be out longer with a Grade 1 groin strain.

SS Trevor Story, Colorado Rockies

Story began a rehab assignment Friday and is 3-for-11 with a homer in four games. He could be activated as soon as Tuesday.

3B Justin Turner, Los Angeles Dodgers


Turner has a right hamstring strain and was placed on the 10-day DL.

SP Taijuan Walker, Arizona Diamondbacks

Walked was placed on the 10-day DL with a blister on his right index finger.

SP Jered Weaver, San Diego Padres

Weaver landed on the DL with left hip inflammation.
